Meredith grew up with a father who was abusive towards her brother, Flint, which caused Meredith’s ability to manifest and burn her whole house down with her father inside. She and her brother were then separated by social workers and Meredith caused many fires across the country during that time. Meredith and Flint eventually reunited after many years and he showed her his new “trick.” She was later, one of Nathan Petrelli's brief lovers. The two eventually drifted apart, due to them coming from different social worlds, but not before Meredith became pregnant and had Nathan's illegitimate daughter, Claire. After just over a year together, Meredith believed she had lost her child during a Company bag and tag operation gone wrong. Meredith accidentally used her powers to burn down her apartment complex, presuming Claire was still inside the collapsing building. With everyone else believing she had perished, Meredith went traveling around the United States and Mexico. After losing Claire, Meredith and her brother committed many crimes across the country until being separated again. She was then given an offer by Thompson to either become an agent for the Company or remain a prisoner. She accepted the offer and helped captured Danny Pine, but then she found out her brother was a prisoner of the Company. She then helped him escape but got captured in the process. She then settled down in Kermit, Texas and recieved a phone call from a girl claiming to be her daughter. She then met and reconnected with her grown-up daughter. She was recruited by Noah Bennet to protect his family in the aftermath of the Level 5 breakout, and accepted a new position at the Company. She assisted Noah in recapturing the Level 5 escapees. During Sylar’s takeover of Primatech Research, Meredith was injected with adrenaline, which caused her to lose control of her ability, causing the building to collapse in flames with her inside it. |

Meredith had the power of [[pyrokinesis]], the ability to create fire. In addition to creating fire, she seemed to be resistant to some of the consequences of its use; her flames heated the walls of a shipping container enough to burn [[Claire]]'s hands, and they consumed enough oxygen to nearly suffocate Claire, but Meredith showed no discomfort from the heat or lack of oxygen. Meredith could also use her powers offensively in which she was able to throw fireballs and conjure large flames to launch them in directed, continuous streams. She could also control the heat of her flames, able to distract Danny Pine instead of injuring him and merely disorientating Thompson on another occasion. Meredith could also ignite her whole body on fire without harming herself and release her flames in an omni-directional explosive blast. Meredith revealed to Claire that after she exploded, while she was unharmed by the flames around her and she thought that Claire had died in the fire and fled. However, when Sylar injected her with adrenaline she lost complete control of her powers. When she exploded she was not immune to the flames and the explosion killed her. |
