Interesting

well apparently she can steal powers but kills them in the process, as well kills anything else. It's also interesting that they added aura to the mix. If we were to rename her ability, Energy Absorbtion is the only thing I could think of. So could Aura absorbtion but that just seems to odd. It also seems like she feeds on it, not in a way that she needs it or she dies but to enhance her own abilities like a drug or something. I did find it odd that if Linda did have other abilities, I wonder why Linderman took her down so easily. --Dman dustin 07:51, 8 April 2008 (EDT)

• Maybe none of her powers were offensive ones. Mediumship doesn't really help, unless she could see Au Co yelling from the dead or something. But her ghost'd probably be in Vietnam. --Ciwey 09:49, 8 April 2008 (EDT)
  • Perhaps we'll find out in Linda backstory part 3 that Au Co's ghost was haunting Linderman and followed him to America? On the other hand, Linda's mom definately has an Asian appearance so maybe Linda was born in or travelled to Vietnam before Moonlight Serenade?--MiamiVolts (talk) 14:14, 8 April 2008 (EDT)
    • Linda's mom has an Asian appearance because Jason Badower's sister was the model for her. Moonlight Serenade was the last part in Linda's backstory. Nothing else is planned. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:18, 8 April 2008 (EDT)
      • Actually, I just got an email from Joe Tolerico describing Moonlight Serenade as "the third in the four Linda Tavara novels where her hidden power is finally revealed." Yesterday, however, R.D. Hall said there was another novel planned, but they were probably going to scrap it since R.D. already covered the emotional beats and the power reveal in Moonlight Serenade. It sounds as though they're in the middle of the decision-making process, and that fourth novel is still up in the air a little. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 00:39, 10 April 2008 (EDT)
• Sounds more and more like Rogue, since by holding on for a long period of time Rogue can kill a person or at least put them into a coma. Linda's ability could easily be called something like 'brain drain', 'soul stealer', 'life stealer'... As for Linderman, he was strong enough to fight back while Mrs. Walker was old and frail. --PeterDawson 15:01, 8 April 2008 (EDT)

Ida Walker?

  • I wouldn't rule out Ida being a grandmother, great grandmother or great aunt to Molly. I think it'd be appropriate to see Mohinder or Matt do some research into her family to see if there was anyone else more suitable to care for her, but I'm not sure the script writers will think of that.     • According to the new Wireless, Ida Mae is one of Molly's relatives, but he/she doesn't specify whether it's direct ancestry (e.g. grandparent) or indirect (e.g. great-aunt or cousin). --Psiphiorg 21:06, 8 April 2008 (EDT)

Mediumship

Ironic?

Ida's angels were actually spirits of dead people (or so we assume), and Linda lied about being an angel. In the end, she really did get killed by Linderman. --Ciwey 09:50, 8 April 2008 (EDT)

Ironic that she pretended to be dead, and then many years later, was eventually killed? Hmm... nope. Most people die someday, it's not that surprising that she did as well. --Maelwys 11:03, 9 April 2008 (EDT)

She lied about being an angel (not knowing that Ida's angels were dead people at that time) to get a powered aura. She died trying to get a powered aura. I'd say it's ironic enough. If she was killed in a car accident or if she died of old age, then I'd think differently, but now, I think it's interesting to consider. --Ciwey 12:20, 9 April 2008 (EDT)

Hmm... I still consider that a pretty sketchy connection. And I don't think she lied to get the aura. She just lied to make an old woman feel at peace before dying, by making her think that there was an angel come to take her to heaven, instead of somebody who'd come to kill her. If Linda'd been honest and said "Nope. I'm just here to kill you" it wouldn't have changed anything (in regards to killing her or getting the power), it just would've meant that Ida died in terror instead of at peace. I think that the lie isn't there to make an ironic statement (nor do I think that it does make an ironic statement), I think it's just there to show that Linda has a human side to her, she's not a monster. --Maelwys 13:54, 9 April 2008 (EDT)
