Ian was a member of Chicago's acclaimed Second City comedy troupe, after having previously worked in the group's box office. He has made numerous television appearances, including recurring roles on The Norm Show, Felicity, and The Drew Carey Show, and appearances on Lost, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and NYPD Blue. His film credits include My Big Fat Greek Wedding, EdTV, and Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star. He also appeared as one of Murphy Brown's innumerable secretaries.
He has appeared in Excessive Force with Carl Ciarfalio, in EdTV with Rusty Schwimmer, in Connie and Carla with Stephen Spinella and Greg Grunberg (with whom he also appeared in Felicity), in The Last Shot with John Prosky and Eric Roberts, and in Jake in Progress with Kevin Chamberlin.
