Anyone a fan of the Big Bang Theroy?
I am trying to start a wiki [[the-big-bang-theory.wetpaint.com|here] but is very hard by my self. If anyone is willing to give me a hand than please say. --Skywalkerrbf 14:41, 15 August 2008 (EDT)
- I like the show, but I don't watch it enough to be able to contribute to a wiki about it, and really don't have the time, either. I'm a much bigger fan of Lost than I am of Heroes, but I don't contribute a whole lot to Lostpedia: because I spend the majority of my wiki-ing time here. I believe that if I'm going to do something, I'm going to do it right, and not spread myself too thin. Good luck with the wiki--if you need any help getting it started, let me know. I'm not familiar at all with wetpaint's platform or even how to edit the pages, but if you need anything that I can help out with, just let me know. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 17:19, 15 August 2008 (EDT)
- I'm on the same page as Ryan, I love the show but I'm not a big enough fan to be able to contribute to a wiki. Good luck with it though, it looks promising! -- Friskymuffin - (talk) 18:38, 15 August 2008 (EDT)
- Funny, my wife was just reading over my shoulder, and she thought RBF was going to make a wiki about the actual theory about the Big Bang. She couldn't understand what people would do on the wiki. "So...Do you believe in the big bang? Oh, really? That's great." Not much more to say, I suppose. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 18:50, 15 August 2008 (EDT)
- Lol yer a wiki like that would be a bit boring. My main problem is writing up episodes and Character pages. I think I will plan to finish making the pages and then try write up a least 5 of the episodes next week. If anyone else would be interested in helping then it would be a HUGE help to me. --Skywalkerrbf 08:09, 16 August 2008 (EDT)

BuddyTV
Hey everybody. I just got an email from BuddyTV. BuddyTV recently went down to LA to visit the Heroes set, and will be posting articles, interviews, and videos from their visit. Check out their site every Monday from now until Season Three starts. Lots of good behind-the-scenes stuff and maybe some hints of upcoming storylines. The first article and video can be seen at this link. Enjoy! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:31, 18 August 2008 (EDT)

Does anyone have this? If they did it would make it a load easier for me to contact members of the cast of Heroes for Interviews. Rebeka Montoya is the only actor involved in the websodes who contact details i don't have. :( --Skywalkerrbf 10:06, 19 August 2008 (EDT)
Anyone speak/read Japanese?
I want to get into contact with Eriko Tamura for a interview but I can not write a request in Japanese and I can not read her website, if anyone does please say. Thanks. --Skywalkerrbf 09:16, 21 August 2008 (EDT)
- Try an online translation service, like Babelfish or Google Translate. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 11:53, 21 August 2008 (EDT)
Competition Idea
I believe that we could launch a competition in which people would design clothing to appear in the graphic novels. Each month people could send in their designs and they would then be included in a novel. We would of course have to get the graphic novel writers and artists to agree. I think we could only do it for a year but I think it would draw a lot of attention to the site. If we had a different item of clothing each month it wouldn't get repetitive, like a t-shirt one month and a hat the next. It would of course almost completely depend on getting the people involved in the novels to agree, but Ryan knows a lot of people and I know one or two, I think if we worked on it it could be really good. What do you think? --Skywalkerrbf 17:20, 22 August 2008 (EDT)
- Jason Badower did something like this already for the graphic novel The Death of Hana Gitelman, Part 1 where he had people submit designs for the dresses that the visitors to RGS were wearing. (Admin 17:35, 22 August 2008 (EDT))
- That is partly were got it from, but all the clothes would be the same brand, I was thinking 'Rob Beck' but the name is just because it would be cool to get my name in there. --Skywalkerrbf 17:40, 22 August 2008 (EDT)
- I think such a competition would be difficult. Artists often don't get very much notice that they'll be doing a new novel, so when they do know and want to solicit suggestions, they can; but it doesn't really pan into becoming a regular competition, imho. As far as clothing designs are concerned though, maybe Admin would welcome a HeroesWiki Hat design competition for Season 3? I think Admin still has t-shirts of a previous design. Just a thought.--MiamiVolts (talk) 17:59, 22 August 2008 (EDT)
- Yer I think it would be difficult, but I also think it would be possible. What you said about artists not getting much notice, when was the last time NBC used a new artist? If we could get all of the current artists on board then that wouldn't be a problem. I think most of the artists would be willing to do it and it would be very interesting to do for a year. --Skywalkerrbf 18:05, 22 August 2008 (EDT)
- May 19 was the last time a new artist's work was debuted in a graphic novel... I think a competition like you're describing is a very cool idea, but I'd rather it come from the artists themselves than from me. I have developed relationships with a few of the artists over the last year or two, and I wouldn't really feel comfortable capitalizing on those relationships to ask them to risk their artistic integrity to help promote Heroes Wiki. I thought Jason's contest was very cool and it helped generate a lot of fan interest, but that kind of thing has to come from the artists, I think. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 21:11, 22 August 2008 (EDT)

"Ask Heroes" at 9thwonders.com!
9thwonders.com has been, and is still, collecting questions for the creators of Heroes to answer. The first batch of questions has been answered!--SacValleyDweller (talk) 01:04, 23 August 2008 (EDT)
- Very cool. I'm always amazed at the ways the creators of Heroes reach out to the fans. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 02:49, 23 August 2008 (EDT)
Episode transcripts
- I was thinking, it may be good if we could get some transcripts for Heroes episodes - either we could do them ourselves, or we could get permission from another site to use theirs. Either way, I think it would be a good resource for reference purposes. What do you guys think?-- Lost Soul talk contribs 15:48, 18 August 2008 (EDT)
- We used to have a link in the Links section to a site with them, but I don't see them there now, and I think I remember something about the domain expiring or something? In any event we won't have the transcripts actually on this site due to copyright concerns, but if there's a site with a comprehensive and high-quality set of transcripts we can add the link back to the Links page. (Admin 16:30, 18 August 2008 (EDT))
- I didn't know that transcripts were a copyright infringement, since Lostpedia does it. Isn't it simply considered fair use?--Referos 17:19, 18 August 2008 (EDT)
- Reproducing an entire script is not fair use. Using a few memorable quotes is. Same with images: grabbing some screenshots is fair use, but hosting entire minutes of video is not....I have a copy of all the transcripts for Seasons One and Two if anybody needs me to search something or look up something specific. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 20:46, 18 August 2008 (EDT)
- The domain of the site with the transcripts did expire. Ryan said he had the contact info. of the person who did them and would notify that person. Ryan, did you get any response?--MiamiVolts (talk) 21:08, 18 August 2008 (EDT)
- Nope. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 21:16, 18 August 2008 (EDT)

Thanks to all those in charge!
Yes it looks like we all completely missed it, even myself (though I have an excuse as I was on holiday!), but July 25th was Systems Admin Day. So I'd like to say a huge thank you to all the admins (and the patrollers!) for making this such a great wiki and keeping it at such a high quality. We'd all be lost without you! -- Friskymuffin - (talk) 19:42, 20 August 2008 (EDT)
- A wiki is only as strong as its editors, so thanks to all those who contribute and help make this wiki as good as it is. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 20:09, 20 August 2008 (EDT)
- Thanks, Friskymuffin. I'm an actual sysadmin by career and last year at work one of my coworkers sent out this funny email to the entire company:
Today is System Administrator Appreciation Day (Reference: http://www.sysadminday.com/). I would like to thank Brian for all of his hard work and condescending looks. If Brian worked in the office, we'd be having cake now, but since he does not, none of us will be enjoying cake. Thanks Brian!
Ollie Grigsby's charity auction
Hey everybody. Just wanted to mention that Ollie Grigsby is running a charity auction. He's offering several really cool Heroes memorabilia items: three signed comics, a signed pilot script, a signed Comic-Con exclusive DVD cover, a "Volume 2" t-shirt and more. Proceeds go towards Child's Play Charity, an organization which donates toys, books, and games to children's hospitals around the world. Check out the auction at this link. Also, check out Ollie's user page for more information. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 23:27, 12 December 2007 (EST)
- Hey Ryan, E-bay is saying "This listing (160189561401) has been removed or is no longer available." Can you let Ollie know that his auction expired/was removed? I know this is old but it's still on Ollie's userpage.--MiamiVolts (talk) 15:15, 29 August 2008 (EDT)
- Well yeah, it's an auction from almost a year ago... -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:43, 29 August 2008 (EDT)
Archive toc
The ArchiveLinks template is ticking out due to the restrictions. I'll be switching a few manual links shortly (bear with me for a few minutes).--MiamiVolts (talk) 15:22, 29 August 2008 (EDT)
- I'm not sure why template:tocright isn't working either... -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:50, 29 August 2008 (EDT)
- Ok, it's better now. Tocright is a template just like ArchiveLinks is. As soon as one template stops working on a page, the rest of the templates on a page that haven't been executed yet stop working as well. Also, we shouldn't have more than 20 topics in a single subpage. I added the new archive you hadn't done yet and moved some of the entries to a new one.--MiamiVolts (talk) 16:08, 29 August 2008 (EDT)
- It seems pretty silly to me that we're limiting the size of the archive pages. We're making limits because it's apparently too difficult to change a template (which we ultimately don't need). It makes more sense to me to break up archives at the end of months--even if it means we have to manually add links to the sections (or not at all, and only leave links to the pages)--than to make informal policies based on the capabilities of our templates. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 17:26, 29 August 2008 (EDT)
- Yeah, I guess we could get rid of the links altogether, but I think it helps to have them. Also, the 20 topics limit isn't silly, and isn't just about this template. See Template talk:ArchiveLinks for related discussion and the reasons why.--MiamiVolts (talk) 18:26, 29 August 2008 (EDT)
- One of Admin's plans was to write a bot that would automatically archive pages we assigned with a certain category, but I don't know if he's had time to work on it. PS: When the manual links are made, the ArchiveLinks template is still used to create the source code. What you do is copy the line(s) of html source code the template creates to WikiConverter, then copy the converted wiki markup code back to HW. This is explained in the template help.--MiamiVolts (talk) 18:26, 29 August 2008 (EDT)
- I'd rather get rid of the links altogether (especially when we already have seven large archives that aren't regularly accessed). A link to the archive is fine, and links to each section works for pages that have fewer archive pages, but arbitrarily cutting off pages at 20 sections doesn't make much sense to me. Cutting the pages off at the end of the nearest month makes much more sense. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 10:29, 30 August 2008 (EDT)
- Rather than delete them, I'd rather move the tocs to a separate subpage, as I think they're helpful. Also, I think cutting off by date is just as arbitrary, but if we do cut by date I think we should split the archives into fortnights to keep them easily navigable. Is that an acceptable compromise?--MiamiVolts (talk) 13:48, 30 August 2008 (EDT)
- I'm not the one to make decisions--I'm just sharing my opinion. I don't think we should cut off archives every two weeks--sometimes we go months without any activity on the talk pages, sometimes we have a ton of activity in a very short amount of time. I think cuts at the end of the month make much more sense. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 14:21, 30 August 2008 (EDT)
- I was also expressing my opinion. Since there's no set guideline, I'll wait for some more people to chime in before making more changes.--MiamiVolts (talk) 14:51, 30 August 2008 (EDT)

- I thought we just archived a discussion page when it exceeded a specific file size (which will give a warning at the top of the page when you edit it). I used to go through Special:Longpages and archive discussion pages (should do that unless someone else wants to).--Bob (talk) 14:37, 30 August 2008 (EDT)
- Yes, this discussion is mainly for this page, where a toc had been added for the archives but the sections were unlinked. I added the section links since there's a lot of discussion that goes on here and I think it helps to have the archives better organized and accessible.--MiamiVolts (talk) 14:51, 30 August 2008 (EDT)
Question Submission - NBC Conference Call, 9/5
- Hi guys! As you may or may not be aware, rbfskywalker and myself have been invited to take part in an NBC conference call to publicize the new season of Heroes, featuring Tim Kring and Zachary Quinto. There are 50 other journalists/news outlets involved, so it's not guaranteed that we will be able to ask any questions at all; however, we are here opening up the opportunity for you to submit a question for consideration. Rbfskywalker and myself will choose the best ones and add them to our list of possible questions to ask. When submitting your questions, I ask that you try and come up with something original and creative, which won't be asked by anyone else! Thanks,-- Lost Soul talk contribs 15:18, 31 August 2008 (EDT)
Tim Kring
- Post your questions for the Heroes creator here.
- Can you comment on whether characters like Eden, Isaac, Charlie, Alejandro, and Candice are going to be brought back to the show or are they permanently gone?
- When the show was last on in late 2007, it was still early 2007 in the show's universe. Assuming Season 3 picks up right where Season 2 left off to resolve its cliff-hangers, it will STILL be early 2007 on the show while we're watching in late 2008! Are the writers mindful of the fact that there is now a sizeable 18-month gap between the characters' present and the viewers' present? Might it be problematic? Will anything be done to narrow that gap over the course of the season (e.g. allow several months to transpire off-screen between Vol. 3 & 4 so the series can play "catch-up" with reality)?
- We heard that in season two there was going to be a flashback episode of the Company called "1977" but due to the strike it was dropped. Will you guys ever revisit the idea of a 77' flashback episode?
- During Season Two, we were introduced to the twelve founders of the Company. However, the stories tantalizingly teased us with just giving a few hints about some of these intriguing characters. What else can you tell us about them? Will we learn more about this generation of revolutionaries?
- What made you decide to write Monica out of volume 3, and is there any chance that she'll be back next season?
- Are we ever going to find out if Molly's father had an ability?
- It appeared during the second season that all of the main cast that was left standing in "How To Stop An Exploding Man?" didn't meet each other. For example: Mohinder didn't know who Claire was.
- Why is it that most of the characters only have one parent or none?
- Could you expand a little more on the Fourth Volume: Fugitives? i.e. What's it about?
- What say have you had in the creation of the graphic novels, if any?
- Could you give an explanation as to why Noah Gray-Cabey and Kristen Bell were demoted to recurring?
- Peter can phase through walls, as he did to get himself and Adam out of their cells. Why'd he waste time trying to pry the vault door off with telekinesis? Can he not phase through certain metals?
- In this question writer's opinion, my favorite episode is Company Man because it only focused on one set of characters. Of course, Bryan Fuller, the man who wrote that, is no longer with the show, but still, should we be expecting another episode like that?
- Which character is your favourite, rather than the one you personally identify with? (might need rephrasing) Also, which episode is your favourite?
- We've seen characters with extraordinary powers - from space-time manipulation, to poison emission, to phasing - but will we ever see a person who has something useless like snail manipulation? (I really want to know this one please)
- Any chance we could get the name of the sixth episode of season three? Or any of the others after the sixth?
- Whatever happened to a character named Sophie, played by Jessica Collins That was suppose to appear in Season 2? Is she in Season 3 or has her character been cut compeletely?
- I know that Christopher Eccleston must be one of the busiest actors in Hollywood (must've been hell to cast him in the first place), but any chance for Claude to return. Also, there's some debate on whether his name is actually "Claude Rains" or if he was just being sarcastic. Could you set the record straight on that?
- I read somewhere that you create the character first before you give them an ability. But have there ever been any exceptions to that where you create someone with a certain ability and create their personality afterward?
- What is the deal with Ali Larter's new character, [[Spoiler:Tracy Strauss|Template:Spoilertext]]?
- I Recently bought Heroes Season 2 on DVD, I came across a deleted scene which reveals Kaito Nakamura's powers. My Question is: what is the show's attitude to things revealed in deleted scenes?
- Did studying Divinity have a big influence of the creation of Heroes?
- Are the graphic novels ever going to be printed on paper?
- What exactly are the names of The Company's founders and could you explain, without being to spoilery, how they all are connected?
- How does the show maintain a sense of originality when there are other similar "super hero" stories out there such as the X-Men and even new shows such as "Fringe"?
Zachary Quinto
- Post your questions for the actor who plays Sylar here.
- Last season, we didn't see much of the villainous side of Sylar because he was stripped of his powers. Can we expect more villainy from him this season?
- According to Kristin Dos Santos, in the future, your character will have a son named Noah. Do you think you can expand on this without being too spoilery?
- Will we ever meet Sylar's father?
- Favourite power that Sylar currently has (not including all the ones he'll get in season three)?
- Favourite kill?
- Do you know any other actors that are leftys?
- Does Sylar possibly have any more noble motives that we don't know about--is there a chance he might turn to the light side?
