One of Missi Pyle's first notable roles was in the sci-fi comedy Galaxy Quest as the alien Laliari; from that point she bounced around a number of television series, appearing on Friends, Ally McBeal, Roswell, and Frasier. Missi appeared also in Bringing Down the House with Queen Latifah and Steve Martin. Recently, she has appeared in the 2005 remake of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory as Violet's mother, and in 2006 she had a small recurring role on the television series Boston Legal.
