Tohoru Masamune is the American film and television actor who portrays Mr. Egami.
Tohoru Masamune played the lead villain role of "Shredder" in Michael Bay's feature film reboot, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2014). He also had the opening line and introduced the spinning top "totem" in Inception. Tohoru also played the lead role of "Martin Takagi" in the feature film paranormal thriller, Chatter. On television, Tohoru appeared on a episode of No Ordinary Family on ABC, had a lead role ("Ozu") in the SyFy channel original movie Warbirds, and appeared in the role of "Hiro" in the feature film Baby-O. Other popular television series guest appearances include iCarly, Big Shots, Without a Trace, 24, Providence, The Practice, Chicago Hope, and Mad About You. He has done voice acting for films such as in Memoirs of a Geisha (with Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa and Clara Soyoung), Jackie Chan Adventures, Stanley, and Rugrats in Paris.
Tohoru has performed in lead roles onstage in Silk directed by Tony Award winner Mary Zimmerman (Goodman Theatre in Chicago), and in Far East by A.R. Gurney directed by Tony Award winner Dan Sullivan (Williamstown Theatre Festival). He also worked on the science fiction comedy web-series Solo. Tohoru is also a graduate of MIT, and has appeared in many national commercial advertising campaigns.
