Edit conflicts tip

If you get an edit conflict when you try and edit a talk page, it's best to just copy your comment and paste it where it belongs. If you copy the whole page, you need to be careful not to erase someone else's comments.--MiamiVolts (talk) 20:14, 30 September 2008 (EDT)

• Sorry about that; I didn't even realize I did it. I didn't recopy the whole page though or notice an edit conflict when I previewed/submitted it, so I'm not sure what happened (it seems I accidentally erased someone's vote on the split/no split?).   • Yeah, you erased mine... and shortly before that Piemanmoo erased an earlier comment I had made. Though unlikely, I guess it could be network lag. It's odd that it wouldn't show as an edit conflict and that two people would erase my comments in so short a time, but weirder things have happened... Peter exposed

Hi. I posted this in the Peterexposed discussion, but I also wanted to pose it directly, since you made the switch, and I'm not sure anyone will respond (I hope that's ok...?):

I think Clairsentience should be listed, as Sylar was likely with radius of Peter (based on a comparison of his distance to DL, Micah, and Molly), even though he wasn't actually in the bank. There's nothing to indicate that walls interfere with Peter's ability. Stevehim 23:06, 3 October 2008 (EDT)

• It's more speculative to try to figure out where Sylar was than to remove it. For a long time, we left off phasing and technopathy because we didn't know how far his range was, but when he demonstrated it in Lizards, then we listed it. RE: Regarding Future Characters

• I know that it's a fact that we call him "Knox". But we don't call Gabriel, Sylar there. And Noah Bennet is not called "HRG". So that's why i wanted to call Knox, Benjamin Washington, it seems more suitable that way but i could be wrong. I won't debate with you on that but if you 100% think it should stay that way it's ok with me, i just think it's more suitable if we use Knox his full name. Thanx!

I would say that Gabriel is a special case because, while the other future characters due refer to him as Sylar, he makes a point (and with a good reason) of why he wants to be called Gabriel, and it fits with the character he's become there. HRG is only known as that outside the show; inside he's referred to as Noah (or the man with the HRG, but convention says we go with Noah). I have no problem discussing the (or any) issue, to figure out what the best plan of action is, and I don't think my opinion should prevail over yours. I tried to start a discussion on it (but misplaced it...it's on the Knox (exposed future) page), so maybe we should try and get some other opinions. Stevehim 10:53, 11 October 2008 (EDT)

Consensus

That's a very mature and appreciated position to take and is one of the core principles of consensus. It doesn't require everyone to fully agree as long as people with different views "agree to disagree" and are willing to at least not oppose the change (even if they don't agree with it). Likewise I feel it's important for each one to convey their views so that everyone is able to build their own opinions using others' ideas as an aid. It's out of constructive discussions like the one you engaged in that it becomes possible to construct effective policies that help guide future discussions. Template:Assignment Tracker

Following our discussion about recreating Assignment Tracker 2.0 files, I made Template:Assignment Tracker. I also made it so fans can create their own AT pages (like here, for example). Cockney Heroes

Hey Stevehim. Me (User:Irony), User:Laughingdevilboy and User:Gabriel Bishop are writing a fan fic called cockney heroes. At the moment we are on episode 3 (series 1). We are running a contest and the prize is to get a character in the series and to co-write a few episodes. The episodes are here and the contest is here. Cockney Heroes Competition Two
