The map is a paper map of the entire globe filled with push-pins in different locations with strings connecting each of them. The map presumably documents the locations of identified evolved humans.

About

Originally seen in Chandra Suresh's Madras apartment, the map was recreated in Brooklyn by his son Mohinder using photographs and Eden McCain's recollections of her conversations with Dr. Suresh. The pair later discovered a much more complete version of the map in Sylar's residence in Queens, but the map later disappeared, along with all the other contents of that apartment. Sylar's more complete version included many data points missing from the original, several with photographs of individuals which had been marked with the Symbol, among them a newspaper clipping of Nathan Petrelli.

Mohinder took down a fourth map in his father's office at Chennai University. All of the pins and strings had already been removed from this map.

A fifth map is inspected by Mr. Bennet at Chandra's apartment in Brooklyn. It has a high school picture of Claire on it.

Six Months Ago

Chandra Suresh pins a photo of Nathan Petrelli on his map as Gabriel Gray arrives at Chandra's apartment for the first time. Later, when Mr. Bennet arrives, he looks at the high school picture of Claire on the map. Surrounding the picture of Claire are photos of Matt, Niki, Charlie, and Nathan.

Mohinder takes a Post-it note with Zane Taylor's name on it off the map.

Trivia

• According to Sendhil Ramamurthy in the video commentary of Godsend, "If we had a close up, most of the people on the pictures on the map are actually crew members." This part of the commentary is during "Godsend Part Two", during the conversation between the FBI Agent and Mohinder.

Heroes360

Although not a part of the ARG itself, an interactive version of the map was posted on NBC.com as part of the Heroes360 experience. The map contains Post-It notes for a number of evolved humans from the list. Some of the Post-It notes have genetic notations or powers noted.

There are numerous errors in the interactive map. Several of the Post-It notes contain misspellings, and some of the pop-ups do not match the Post-It's locations on the background image properly. For example, the background image shows "Penkala Burton" in Malaysia, but her pop-up Post-It note is over Siberia.

Several names and photos of known evolved humans appear on the background image of the interactive map, but do not have pop-up Post-It notes, including:
