Lots of gaps in the summary. Sorry about that. ___ A child is born to innocence. A child is born towards good. Why is it that so many among us go terribly wrong?What makes some walk the path of darkness? While other choose the light? Is it will? is it destiny? Can we ever hope to understand the force that shapes the soul? To fight evil, one must know evil. One must journey back in time to find that fork in the road. Where heroes turn one way and villains go another ___ In Usutu's hut, Hiro eats some of Usutu's precognitive goop.
Eighteen months ago, Arthur is speaking at the Petrelli mansion and is giving thanks to his family members. Linderman comes over and congratulates Angela and Arthur. He then asks Nathan if the rumors are true; if his office is going to launch a full scale investigation on all things Linderman. Nathan replies that he should shave his wrists or the handcuffs will chafe. Linderman asks Arthur what he sees in Nathan. Arthur then looks into Nathan's mind with telepathy and replies "trouble." --- Arthur responds that he'll kill Nathan if he has to.

One year ago: Flint burns some popcorn packets in a convenience store while Meredith steals money from hostages on the floor. Flint notices one hostage still standing and orders him to get down. Meredith tries to tell him to stop, but Flint only further antagonizes the man. The man turns around, revealing that he is Thompson (of the Company) and tells Flint that he should have listened to his sister. Flint ignites his flames but Thompson sprays Flint with a fire extinguisher and threatens to taze Meredith. Flint gets away.

In his workshop, Gabriel holds a noose in his hand. He stands on a chair and is about to hang himself. He recalls meeting Brian Davis, killing him, and stealing his power. Gabriel slips the noose around his neck as the door opens and Elle steps in. Gabriel kicks the chair away and almost dies, but Elle finds him and severs the noose with her power, saving Gabriel. Elle asks Gabriel if he's alright, and he replies, "Forgive me." He falls unconscious in Elle's arms. Later, Elle tells Gabriel that everything is going to be okay, but Gabriel disagrees, saying that he's done unforgivable things. Elle tries to get him to talk about what he did, but he says he can't. Gabriel says that he wanted something that a man had and took it at a terrible price. Elle reassures Gabriel that he's not a bad person and is just a man who deserves a second chance. Gabriel tells Elle that he doesn't even know her name, and she gives it to him. Gabriel says that she's like an angel, showing up out of nowhere. Elle says that she's just an angel with a broken watch.

Outside, Elle goes to a Primatech Paper van and meets with Noah. She asks why they can't just bag and tag Gabriel like the others. Noah says that the ability to transfer powers "from one vessel to another is very rare."

In a company cell, Thompson talks about the crimes that Meredith has committed. He says that the Company wants to train her to become an agent. Meredith refuses, but Thompson asks why she hates the company so much. Meredith responds that she has her reasons, and Thompson says to ( ) Meredith asks Thompson to promise not to go after her brother, but Thompson only gives her a choice between being an agent or a prisoner. Meredith asks when she starts.

Peter is about to graduate from nursing college, and Angela wants to know why Arthur won't go to Peter's graduation party at his apartment. Angela tells him that Peter will be a very powerful person when his ability manifests.

Arthur asks Nathan to reconsider giving the Linderman case to another ADA. He claims he's worried about the pressure of the trial upon his family. Nathan reassures him that nothing will go wrong. Arthur glares at Nathan as he leaves. Nathan asks what's wrong, but Arthur only remarks that he looks good in a suit.

(hit and run attempt from Six Months Ago)
Angela and Arthur meet Nathan at the hospital. (Nathan and Arthur fight... Heidi is revealed to be paralyzed... Heidi wants to see Nathan... Nathan threatens Linderman and Arthur...)

At the Petrelli mansion, Arthur is typing on his laptop as Angela enters. Angela delivers the news of Heidi's injuries. She tries to talk with Arthur about what Nathan said about Linderman. Arthur steadfastly says that he didn't order Linderman to kill Nathan.

In Texas, Thompson and Meredith see a man sitting alone in a homeless park. Thompson claims that he wants to put some of the homeless into affordable housing. The man uses an ability to transmute his flesh to a metal and attacks Thompson. Meredith burns the man, then tazes him, saving Thompson.

In Queens, Noah is spying on Gabriel from his van. Gabriel is in his apartment, looking at a map of evolved humans as Elle knocks on his door with a pie. She asks Gabriel if he likes pie. (stuff) Gabriel explains to Elle about his ability. He then demonstrates that telekinesis by moving some dishes and throwing a fork into the sink. He says that the people on the list could do things like that too.

At Primatech, Thompson tells Meredith that she could become an agent in due time. He tells her to put METALLIC SKIN MAN in cell 9. Meredith obliges, but on the way, she sees her brother in a Company cell. She is confused, thinking that Flint got away, but he says that an invisible man tackled him in an alley and captured him. Flint says that the company's going to train him, just like they're doing to Meredith. Meredith is distressed, and Flint says that they'll be able to work together. Thompson comes and asks the two if there's a problem, and Meredith responds no.

Back in Gabriel's apartment, Gabriel is messing with a map of locations of specials. Elle arrives. Noah is watching them on closed circuit video. Elle picks up the list, and when Gabriel says that it is a list of people "like him" she jokes that if it is a list of nice single guys, she should take it. Gabriel confesses that he has special powers, and demonstrates telekinesis. Elle says that she doesn't understand. Gabriel says that the other people on the list can do things too. Elle's pie is a peach pie, which is Gabriel's favorite kind. Elle steals the list.

Linderman apologizes to Arthur, saying that he doesn't know how Nathan survived the crash. Linderman proposes to postpone... Angela overhears their conversation and is shocked. Angela runs away and grabs a kitchen knife and threatens Arthur with it. Arthur uses telepathy and tries to command Angela to say that Nathan has to die. Angela resists at first, but is unable to resist Arthur's commands in the end.

In the present-day, Hiro sits up from his trance and utters "Murder!" in Japanese. Ando tries to wake him up, but Usutu tells him not to. Ando says that they need to do something, and Usutu hands him some incense. Usutu says that something has disturbed Hiro's spirit walk and holds the fumes under Hiro's nose.

At Primatech, Meredith comes to Flint's cell and knocks on his window. She offers him a way to escape with her, but Flint doesn't want to because the company's being nice to him. Meredith reminds him that their mother always told him that god gave him an older sister in lieu of brains.

On a freight train, Meredith says that they'll probably go to Mexico. Thompson tazes Meredith and threatens to taze Flint next. Meredith awakes. Thompson tries to find Flint, (distraction, hiding, stuff) Flint opens the door the train as Meredith and Thompson wrestle. Flint jumps out of the train. (stuff, explosion)

Petrelli mansion: Angela is chopping some vegetables as Linderman comes in and remarks that her food smells good. (can't let him destroy you like this, Arthur is working on a project, Linderman can heal the scars, what scars?, all the times he's forced these thoughts, erased your memories) Arthur is betraying you in the most heinous way possible. He's going to kill your son. Angela slaps Linderman. Linderman places his hands on Angela's shoulders and says that he can heal the scars, and tells Angela that she needs to make a choice between obedience and the truth. Angela puts his hands on her head as Linderman heals her memory loss.

(OMG THAT WAS WHAT CAUSED THE FLAMING TRAIN ZOMG (sorry)) Thompson asks Meredith why she hates the company so much. She reveals how her daughter died in a fire caused by the Company. Thompson asks if that's what they actually told her, and then lets her go. Claire runs to the train wreck and jumps into the fire, attempting to save a man.

At Gabriel's apartment, Elle picks up some cooked food (ziti?). Trevor (ZOMG DOES HE HAVE FREEZING? No he doesn't nvm aww man). He explodes some glasses.

At the Petrelli mansion, Arthur and Angela are having dinner. Arthur asks Angela if something's on her mind. (ENTER THE HAITIAN) Arthur squirms uncomfortably.

"HE'S SO SPECIAL" Gabriel slams Trevor against a bookcase in anger. Elle shocks him to stop him from hurting Trevor. He throws Elle into the other room and orders her to get out. Gabriel holds Trevor against the wall and telekinetically slices open his head. Elle runs across the street into the van. (SYLAR'S ROOM ZOMG WE FINALLY LEARN WHERE THAT CAME FROM)

Back at the Petrelli mansion... they argue about killing Nathan... Arthur grunts in pain again. He looks at his food and realizes that Angela poisoned him.

Angela tells the Haitian to use the incinerator on level three. Nathan arrives home. Sees his father, calls 911.

Elle and Noah argue. Mohinder in a taxi. Noah gets in as Peter gets out.

At the hospital Nathan says that they should call Peter. Angela says that they should wait. DR. LIVITZ. Heart attack. Angela wants Arthur cremated as soon as possible. Arthur is on a respirator.

At the funeral: Nathan tells Peter that Arthur is with their dog Izzy now. Angela tells Peter not to idolize his father, for he was a man, not a god.

In the present: Hiro wakes up.

FFFFFFFFF! Fricking Arthur Petrelli is gay, man! I wanted Usutu to stay all alone and so we could have random precog from a place nobody's at so Usutu could know everything about everyone but not do anything about it. :P But it did clean house. It was pretty good. But I miss Usutu. Flint claims he got tackled by invisible man. Yay Claude reference! Trevor looks like a pervert, staring at Elle real creepy all the time. I'm guessing Trevor's power could've also been redeemed after the shanti virus and is what caused the lights to explode in the Bennet house. I had thought Trevor would have freezing. While I laughed at the Claude reference, it couldn't have been him. He was already long on the run from the company by this time. Just ano0ther of MANY plot-holes in this episode. (Elle having a relationship and going on missions with a partner, Sylar's never before seen power [unless you count when he shattered the lights in The Second Coming, but that would be ANOTHER plot hole since he doesnt have access to his old powers except for TK at the moment], Bennet knowing full well three of Sylar's powers but telling him while in captivity in season 1 that the only one they could figure out was TK...) --Action Figure 23:18, 10 November 2008 (EST)

Arthur's Telepathy?

It seems as though his is more advanced than Matt or Maury's. Sort of combining mental manipulation and telepathy.Exproject 22:35, 10 November 2008 (EST)

  • It seemed to be straight telepathy to me. There were none of the telltale Haitian hand movements involved. I'd just stick with telepathy. Seb.gwirionyn
    • Neither of the other two telepaths have been able to command someone to say something and to simply erase memories or destroy the links to them. Either this is the next step of telepathy or combining the two abilities.Exproject 22:55, 10 November 2008 (EST)
      • If they can command someone to do something, why shouldn't they be able to command them to say something? Also, like I said, it's possible Arthur commanded Angela's brain to forget her memories (much like Eden was able to command her stepmother to die). Continuity issue

Gabriel is hanging himself after killing Brian, and everything appears to be happening with Elle in a very short period of time, but as Noah and Elle are leaving after Gabriel kills Trevor, Mohindar is driving the cab, not Chandra...either this relationship worked itself out over a period of weeks, during which time Gabriel killed again (Chandra), or there's a reality gap here.--Falcomadol 23:20, 10 November 2008 (EST)

    • Well, yeah, this episode did some weird things with the space time continium. Like how Elle managed to be in New York City and in Odessa, Texas at the same time. In Elle's First Assignment, Elle saw Claire jump off the coal mill. Part of this episode takes place on that same day (When HRG gets into Mohinder's cab). They all watched the eclipse that day. I guess that's what we get for letting Alexander take a hold of the reigns.--Cairoi 23:42, 10 November 2008 (EST)
      • I think we're just going to have to imagine that it was Chandra driving that cab then, that's the major lynchpin problem. How did you pin HRG getting into Mohinder's cab to the same day that Elle was watching Claire in the mill? The rest of this stuff could be somewhat flexible in terms of timing (the Meredith things could happen after the things shown contemporaneously in this episode, but in the same general period of time).--Falcomadol 23:45, 10 November 2008 (EST)

List vs. List

• I have three different clear pictures of Gabriel's list. The names are Brian Davis, Travel Zeitlan, James Walker (Molly), Charlene Andrews, and Sparrow Redhouse. Davis, Zeitlan, and Walker are not on Chandra's List, which is itself a problem...--Falcomadol 23:48, 10 November 2008 (EST)
