Spaces in category links

Hey, IE. There's no need to place a space, or remove a space, between the colon and the category name in category links. In other words, Category: Season One Guest Stars (with a space) and Category:Season One Guest Stars (without a space) both have the exact same effect. Power Absorption

special feature "The Writers Forum" found on the Season 3 DVD, writers Tim Kring, Adam Armus, and Aron Eli Coleite reveal that Arthur's ability is a more developed form of Peter's empathic mimicry and they are actually different versions of the same ability. Intuitive, do you think this means that Arthur can also copy people's power empathically like Peter and Sylar later does with Elle? Memory Restoration

From this first time in Tabula Rasa, I saw Damien's ability, I thought yep, that's Memory Restoration. The opposite of the Haitian. You and I think Catalyst think it should have a different name. Can I ask what name you think would be better? I always thought, Phil, you have some pretty good ideas, though I don't agree with all of them (because I am convinced Linda is Sylar's mum and Victoria Pratt is a lesbian, though I doubt she dated Angela. Also Sparrow is Allison.). Anyway, I would like very much to discuss this, along with other theories like whether Bob is Noah's father or not or Leona Mills was Elle's mother. Hope you don't mind but when I rewatched the episode, I got her quote that she had at least 6 or 7 more boyfriends than girlfriends, so I changed what was written. So do you think, and I know you don't like to guess too much, that Gretchen will suffer the Tara Maclay Evil/Dead Lesbian cliche? I am aware that speculation is not your cup of tea. Just thought I would ask whether Gretchen will stay long term, being killed or suffer mental manipulation from the Haitian in light of the revelation they filmed a scene together.

What's Going On? Part II

Dear Intuitive Empath,
After going through my contribution history, I discovered that you also deleted my puppet master and super speed theories. Why?

- I listed a theory in puppet master speculating that it could be related to central nervous system control. Under super speed, I mentioned a theory positing that super speed involves manipulating space-time in some way. Sorry for my snappishness; I'd just been in an argument.

-- Okay, I understand why nervous system manipulation is out. However, if someone moved at the speeds Edgar and Daphne went at without fiddling with time, they would instantly die as their internal organs were pushed out through their pores.

--- If this were simply ability immunity, then Daphne would have not been able to transport Ando. She would have simply torn his arm off. Also, Hiro's time-stopping works by accelerating TEMPORALLY, not physically. He isn't gaining momentum or speed. If super speed did not have a temporal aspect, then she would have not been able to 'unfreeze'. I primarily object to the theory being killed over a single INCONCLUSIVE piece of evidence. If 'windiness' was a solid enough argument to justify terminating an entire theory, then most theories would be terminated within 24 hours of their creation. If Altes wants to use that statement, then he can post on the theories page. I'm not saying that super speed is PURELY temporal; I'm saying that if it wasn't partly temporal, then Daphne and Edgar would have to have multiple other abilities. First, if they were simply moving at extreme speeds, they would be first skinned alive by friction; then their internal organs would be spewed out the back through their pores; then, when they stopped, their brain would explode through the front of their skull. In order to resist this, they would need impenetrable skin. Second, if they accelerated on a purely physical plane, they would be unable to navigate as their brains would be unable to process the data quickly enough for it to be useful. If their senses were good enough to handle navigation at such speeds, they would go completely insane as the world moved in slow motion around them, making a conversation that lasts two OBJECTIVE minutes go on for several SUBJECTIVE days. This theory was killed unjustly.

Apparently, you only read the first sentence or two of my previous statement. This is NOT ability extension: if that were true, then Ando would have to know every single twist and turn of the journey or risk accidentally having him go left, her go right, and then being spectacularly pureed as they lost contact. If he had arrived, he would not be anything approaching nonchalant; he'd be terrified. Also, I notice you didn't bother responding to my other arguments.

I joined this site to post theories and enjoy the wonder of the Heroes universe, not find out that someone can put the kibosh on an entire train of thought because he wants to.

  • He might be canon, indeed, but there is a lot of ways to differ his ability to Peter's actually. It's just a touch based mimic power, but both Arthur and Peter got one. Sylar can use empathy to get powers, thought it's not considered as Empathic Mimicry. So why is Draph, with so much differences with Peter's, having the "Ability Replication" ? It's not stated that's what he has, and it is still to be proven that Peter could hold more than one abilities. So at the time, it's not really the same... even more if we look at the "everything else", not canon (yet?). Draph got a mimicry power, but as stated in the show, there might be several, and I don't think it really matches Peter's one.
    • Oh my GOD, how did Knox end up with enhanced strength... ??? O_O I mean, it's stated completely that he has to absorb the fear in order to increase his power... Well that sure is an issue... But as for Draph, problem is that those mimicry powers were tricky enough. There are all those distinctions between Power Absorption, Empathic mimicry, Intuitive aptitude, Ability Replication... While it could just be one power, "Mimicry" then (actually I don't think "intuitive aptitude" is what allows Sylar to change his DNA, it just showed him how to do it...), used in totally different ways by their owners... That's the problem with Draph, if we accept variations with a mimic power, I think it's gonna get real confusing, because one can easily find common points with the other ones... Also, I'm sure you know a lot of persons are disappointed with Peter's actual power, and showing on his page of his *supposed* unique power that some random guy is just totally better with it could be pretty annoying... Maybe a vote ? You're also right for Jeremy, but you can support you idea with tonight's episode. It's not a simple healing, it seems to drain the owner's vital energy in order to do so... Amanda's Father

I apologize if this is the wrong place to ask, but how do we know Amanda's father is a priest. The only information I see about her father is the graphic novel, where Lydia ran from him first. And he was basically the same age as her. If Amanda's Father's page hasn't been updated with new information, then that's okay I'm just wondering. And looking at the Graphic Novel, I'm wondering if he's only a priest because Him and Lydia ran from the church, but that doesn't conclusively mean he was a priest.
