Of these "36" (43) persons, 21 are known to have died on the show. That leaves a mortality rate of 48.8%, roughly half of the list. Of the remaining 22 individuals, we've never met, and cannot guarantee the "safety" of 13 of them. Of the 9 confirmed survivors, 5 were seen amongst the 34 viewed on the list (Aswan, Murphy, Nakamura, Parkman, Nathan Petrelli), and 4 were only mentioned to be on the list (Bennet, Gray, Peter Petrelli, Walker).
