As you can see, he has a pretty prolific body of work with Heroes, and he's personally one of my favorite graphic novel artists. I'm going to do things a bit differently this time--because there are so many novels he's created, I'm going to have question submissions be broken down by novel. Feel free to submit any questions you have below. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 19:59, 13 February 2008 (EST)

  • Looks like he answered the mystery of soma, so that's one question we can scratch off the list. (Admin 21:53, 13 February 2008 (EST))
    • Yeah, that was pretty cool of him. By the way, this will be an email interview, and I will send out the questions Friday evening. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 23:08, 13 February 2008 (EST)
      • I have a topic open for it on here. (Admin 23:15, 13 February 2008 (EST))
  • Okay, I'm sending out the email now, so submissions are officially over. Thanks, y'all! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 20:34, 15 February 2008 (EST)

  • Favourite character to draw? --DocM 09:41, 14 February 2008 (EST)
  • Can you tell us about your start in comics? "Comic Book Idol"? -Lөvөl 11:26, 14 February 2008 (EST)

    1) Do you have any regular contact with the your fellow Heroes GN artists, the colorists, or the writers?
    2) Do you have any influence over who colors your Heroes work?
    3) Any leads as to who is drawing future GNs?
    --SacValleyDweller (talk) 18:42, 14 February 2008 (EST)

Questions about The Crane

  • Was it fun drawing the explosion wiping out the city? --DocM 09:41, 14 February 2008 (EST)
  • <formulate question about references in Hiro's apartment>

Questions about Aftermath

  • Graffiti: MG + AL? Oh really?
  • I'm also seeing what looks like "PNC" and "Reflekt MTA". Any significance?

Questions about Control

  • Was it your choice to have Matt drive through Grove Promenade, or was it part of the script? -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 14:13, 14 February 2008 (EST)
  • Matt crashes into a bunch of LA Dodgers bobbleheads. The names on the toys are Andy Stacey and Ken Brown, but I've never heard of these guys as being on the Dodgers, or even being baseball players. Who are they?

Questions about Isaac's First Time

  • What's up with Uluru?
  • Are we going to see more of Uluru?
  • Are the paintings in Isaac's room and at the Deveaux Gallery specific paintings?
  • I loved it when Isaac "grabbed" the "knock knock" sound effects. Total hallucination that can only happen in the comics!

Questions about Turning Point

Questions about Fathers & Daughters

Questions about Super-Heroics

  • Did it feel strange drawing a more superhero-based story for a reality-based show? --DocM 09:41, 14 February 2008 (EST)

Questions about Wireless

  • 22 pages! That's some feat!
  • Was Stana Katic already cast for the role of Hana when you started working on this? If not, how in the world did you draw an actress without knowing who it was going to be? -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 06:37, 14 February 2008 (EST)
  • When you first introduced Hana to the world, did you know she would play such a large part in the Heroes Evolutions experience?
  • How were the special effects of Hana's ability accomplished?

Questions about Bully

  • When Micah kicks Frank in the groin, I think I speak for every living man who has ever read the comic when I say, "Uunngh!"

Questions about Normal Lives

  • Can we know more about Marcus's ability?
  • Not a question, just wanted to say "kudos" on that awesome split image of Mr. Bennet and Bob.

Questions about History of a Secret

  • Are we going to see Abu Aswan in the future?
  • Can you confirm from the script...
    • whether "present-day" in this novel means the day the graphic novel was released? Or at least the current year (2008)?
    • whether the place Abu meets his father supposed to be in the National Archives or is Abu's office
  • Is that supposed to be the new Macbook laptop in Mr. Aswan's office (where Abu meets his father)?--MiamiVolts (talk) 12:43, 14 February 2008 (EST)
  • What kind of research did you do on Egypt for this novel?

Potential questions for Interview Two

Questions about War Buddies, Part 7

  • What can you tell us about Linda's ability?
  • Was the deer referred to by name in the script and if so, what was the name?
  • Was Linda supposed to be the woman who was hugging Au Co in Daniel Linderman's flashback, or was that supposed to be Au Co's mom? Is Linda supposed to be closely related to Au Co?
    • Jason helped answer some of the above questions this morning on 9th Wonders among other things:
      • The script he got doesn't say anything about Linda's ability except that her hands are directed to glow.
      • The deer was just a deer, but it was not dead or else Linderman couldn't heal it. He burns Linda after killing her and can't heal her ashes with his ability.
      • The script doesn't mention any relations between Au Co and Linda, so any resemblance is coincidental unless the script changed since when Jason got it. This still doesn't rule out Linda as a bounty hunter hired by the Viet Cong. Jason doesn't know about that since he can only comment on the first novel.--MiamiVolts (talk) 09:42, 21 February 2008 (EST)

Questions about A Lesson in Electricity

William Franklin
David Wohl
  • Did you ever watch or work on an episode of the cartoon, Liberty's Kids? Your depiction of Benjamin Franklin very closely resembles his depiction in that show. IMDb lists the art direction for that series as Mike Bundlie and David Degrande, and art department Tom Galvin and Garrett O'Donoghue.
  • Can you confirm whether the script contained instructions not to mark the end of this graphic novel with "The End", or was that Comicraft's choice? In other words, is there any chance that this is a multi-part graphic novel?
  • Is the book that Joseph Priestley closes and reshelves at the end of the graphic novel supposed to be Joseph's journal, or Benjamin Franklin's autobiography?

Questions about Different and the Same

  • Were you given references for Debbie, Piper, or Piper's parents?
  • Is the Piper in this novel a younger version of the Piper J that posted on the Dream Study?
  • Can you confirm that Sanjog Iyer's arm is supposed to look abnormally long when he appears in Piper's eyeglasses?
  • Can you confirm if the script called for marking the end of this graphic novel with "The End", or was that Comicraft's choice? In other words, is there any chance that this is a multi-part graphic novel?
    • It does say "End" in the bottom left corner of page 7, also it is normally the letter that would put it in. -Lөvөl 15:56, 1 April 2008 (EDT)
      • Oops, I copied that without checking what it said. I'll reword it.--MiamiVolts (talk) 19:23, 1 April 2008 (EDT)

Questions about Faces, Part 2

  • How did you decide how to draw Thompson, Jr., Penny Logan, and Connie Logan in this GN? Were you given any instructions and if so what were they? --SacValleyDweller (talk) 17:16, 29 May 2008 (EDT)
    • Did you give any instructions to the colorist for this novel? Did you see the colorist's proofs before they were released?--MiamiVolts (talk) 18:01, 29 May 2008 (EDT)

To do

Still needs pictures and a Digg link. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 14:51, 17 February 2008 (EST)

  • I'm going to be gone most of the day today. I think we need to change some pictures here before I send out publicity. The portrait images don't look very good as thumbnails, I think they should all generally be 450x350 images. I wouldn't mind seeing one or two of Micah's line art pieces here, too. Also, because the questions and responses are quite short, I'd rather see all the pictures on the righthand side than alternating left and right. We also need to add a Digg link. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 11:41, 18 February 2008 (EST)
    • Ok, I've shrunk the standard-size portraits to the same 130px height as the thumbs, and the non-standard ones I shrunk to the same ratio. I also added a line art piece, the one of Egypt, and moved all the images to be on the right side. I'll let Admin or you do the Digg link since I recall Admin mentioning that getting the url/name format correct has to be done properly with the first entry since you can't change it, and I don't have any experience doing Digg links.--MiamiVolts (talk) 14:39, 18 February 2008 (EST)
      • Thanks, Miami. The forced width thumbs still just didn't look right, so I took them out, though I replaced a few good ones with 450x350 images. I also change the line art to the page Micah said was his favorite. I also tried to get the page to show fewer images, about one per scroll, give or take. Thanks for your help! (And thanks for the Digg link, Admin.) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 23:53, 18 February 2008 (EST)
