"Forcefields" is the name given in Rebellion, Part 3.

Name

Since she creates forcefields, wouldn't "forcefield creation" be a more appropriate name? -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 10:46, 28 October 2008 (EDT)

  • Or perhaps "forcefield generation"? Intuitive Empath 11:14, 28 October 2008 (EDT)
    • That would work, too. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 11:16, 28 October 2008 (EDT)
      • Despite not becoming invisible, this is basically Sue Storm's power. Intuitive Empath 11:35, 28 October 2008 (EDT)
  • I favor "forcefield generation"...it's more specific than "forcefield creation", but both are okay. I'd rather not keep "forcefield manipulation", but if we can't agree I prefer it over "Abagail's ability".--MiamiVolts (talk) 12:50, 28 October 2008 (EDT)
  • I'd go for Forcefield Creation or Forcefield Generation We're over-rated with "manipulation" here.NiveKJ13 13:38, 28 October 2008 (EDT)
  • Agreed. I'd go for Forcefield Generation too. SkyBrookes! 13:59, 28 October 2008 (EDT)
  • If this is really like Sue Storm from Fantasic Four's ability, Then it should be "Force Field Projection". As its written in the wiki page of Sue Storm - Sue Storm Wikipedia (its on the box description written.)

Witchy2006 14:21, 28 October 2008 (EDT)

  • If she can only generate a field around herself it will be "Forcefield Generation", but obviously she can use these fields as gloves and moves them around. So why don't we use the name "Forcefield Manipulation", as she can clearly manipulates them as well? --Hellknight 14:26, 28 October 2008 (EDT)
  • The name seems good but you shouldn't really refer to the Marvel or DC Universe to validate certain abilities as it is totally wrong. Each of the Universe' differ dramatically. However, the name should be called Forcefield Manipulation as Abigail manipulates it to deliver a punch rather than a projection. Forcefield Projection implies that she cannot alter it's structure etc. --ACDC1989 13:10, 29 October 2008 (EDT)
    • Creating a forcefield around your fist rather than around your entire body is still projection, imo. And I'm pretty sure she can't alter its structure. She creates similar forcefields around different parts of her body... altering the structure of the forcefields makes it seem like she can make forcefield balloon animals. Sincerely, Thrashmeister [ U | T | C ] 15:30, 29 October 2008 (EDT)

Common name

Ok, so common name should probably trump the descriptions we're thinking of...so DC Comics refers to it as "deflection", and Marvel Comics calls it "forcefield projection" (here and here). I'm okay with either, but the power name source should be updated to note we are using common name.--MiamiVolts (talk) 16:22, 28 October 2008 (EDT)

Abigail's jaws

  • Did they draw Abigail's jaws like that in purpose, seriously, they gave her a hot body but she looks like a guy...LOL
    • That's a real person. Her face is based very much on Ollie Grigsby's real life financée. She's very pretty in reality, and I think she looks great in the novel. Jason Badower did a great job on the likeness, even if it's not perfect. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 17:30, 30 October 2008 (EDT)

And this is related to her ability... How?--ERROR 20:40, 3 June 2009 (EDT)

Image

Anyone else thinks that Rebellion gave us a better image to use as a main image? Either the one with West flying them in the forcefield or the one inside the house with things crashing it. I like the second one more. Intuitive Empath - Talk - Contributions 15:22, 19 May 2009 (EDT)

  • I like this
    Forcefields.jpg
better than the one we have up here. Is that the one you were talking about? --Skullman1392 23:14, 19 May 2009 (EDT)
    • Actually this one, though I wish it wasn't so zoomed in, if we could see more of Abby and the field it would be better. Intuitive Empath - Talk - Contributions 14:51, 20 May 2009 (EDT)
      • Honestly, I don't like it because its so zoomed in, like you said, but also because it almost looks as if she's making multiple tiny forcefields instead of one big one, like you can see clearly in the picture to the left. --Skullman1392 20:15, 20 May 2009 (EDT)
        • I thought that too, but then I noticed these little things in between the points the darts/bullets/whatever hit, as if the place where it hits, it glows, it's odd cause it wasn't like that. I hope we get more GNs with her, possibly with better shots of the power. Intuitive Empath - Talk - Contributions 20:20, 20 May 2009 (EDT)
          • Yeah, that's what I figured it was, it just doesn't really look like one big forcefield. That's why I like the image I suggested. But yeah, I hope we can see some more of her and her power in the next couple weeks :D --Skullman1392 20:31, 20 May 2009 (EDT)
            • I would agree that this image is a better alternative to the one we currently have. It shows the ability being used on something rather than just being there. -- Psilaq R.- \m/ -_- \m/- 16:01, 29 May 2009 (EDT)
              • Agree. I like Image:Forcefields.jpg, too. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 16:49, 29 May 2009 (EDT)
                • No one seems opposed to an image change. I'll go ahead and change it, revert it if you oppose. -- Psilaq R.- \m/ -_- \m/- 16:05, 1 June 2009 (EDT)

Disappointing

The new name is kinda disappointing. I thought they could come up with a better name than that. But oh well, I guess... -Sincerely, Thrashmeister » talk- 22:28, 19 May 2009 (EDT)

  • I actually have to agree. Every ability is either a verb or am adj, and this is so nounish. If that makes any sense haha --OutbackZack 22:09, 20 May 2009 (EDT)
  • That makes three. I was happier with forcefield projection. --Isaac Mendez 10:24, 23 May 2009 (EDT)
    • That makes four of us. Is their any way a consensus can over-rule a near canon source? --IronyUTC CH 06:09, 30 May 2009 (EDT)
      • That makes five, I agree with you guys, should one of us tell an admin of our plans. -- By Danko CH 06:15, 30 May 2009 (EDT)

Make that SIX people.--ERROR 20:39, 3 June 2009 (EDT)

  • Seven. Anyway, we should vote on names. If we do not enjoy the name, and if 80% of the people who voted in the time agreed to the change, we should make it. --Boom D  12  21:29, 3 June 2009 (EDT)
    • Eight. I like the idea "near canon beats consensus", but it don't work always. Let's just hope they give us a better name, but I don't think they will. Mateussf 15:02, 5 June 2009 (EDT)
      • Nine. Forcefield Projection just sounds so much better. Same goes for Puppet Mastery. --Skullman1392 16:19, 5 June 2009 (EDT)

im number ten i f you guys count me ! i think Forecefield projection fits better , forcefields does not sound right and i never heard a character with the power of forcefields it is either forcefield projection or generation--Zoga78 02:28, 6 June 2009 (EDT)

  • Eleven! What a shame. If they always named powers so simply, we would have Lightning, Flames, Radiation, Black holes etc. *disappointed, extinguishes the Fire of Justice* -- Altes 05:48, 9 June 2009 (EDT)
    • Aren't we lucky that we don't have to worry about what 11+ fans want, but that we're explicitly given a name for the ability! It sure is nice to have naming conventions that dictate where we get our names from, so we can always stay focused on what the writers give us, rather than use what we feel would be better. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 10:37, 9 June 2009 (EDT)
      • Well, Ryan, that's what infuriated us. Nobody cares what we fans want. -- Altes 08:01, 11 June 2009 (EDT)
        • That's because it doesn't matter what the fans want. We're not making the show. As Ryan said, the writers do the work so we don't have to. I too would have liked a more technical term, (such as Electromagnetic interference, but that's about infinity percent speculation) but I can live with Forcefields. -- Psilaq R.- \m/ -_- \m/- 12:22, 17 June 2009 (EDT)

Her hands

  • on the page it says her hands glowed yellow when she used her ability. I dont remember anytime her hands glowed yellow. If I'm wrong, can somebody please tell me where the proof is.
  • Rebellion, Part 4. There are some moments her hands have a yellow glow. Intuitive Empath - Talk - Contributions 18:51, 16 June 2009 (EDT)
