Ando's sword is a katana intended for killing Sylar.

Landslide
While Hiro is in the other room with Kaito at Jittetsu Arms, Ando purchases a sword from Mr. Claremont. When Hiro appears from the back room, he is told my Mr. Claremont that Ando puchased a sword to save the world if Hiro would not do it. Ando is later seen walking through New York City with the sword in hand.
