X-Men is a fictional group of individuals with superpowers. The team is often referenced on Heroes.

About

The X-Men were created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, and first appeared in Marvel Comics's The X-Men, Issue #1, in September 1963. Among others, the team includes Professor X, Cyclops, Phoenix, Wolverine, Shadowcat, Rogue, and Magneto. Each member is a "mutant" who possesses an ability. Together (and sometimes viewed as a sort of family), the X-Men fight issues ranging from mutant criminals to galactic threats.

Hiro explains his ability to bend space and time. Ando asks him where he learned all this, and Hiro replies, "X-Men, #143, when Kitty Pryde time travels..."

Unexpected

Nathan says that, if given the chance, he would round up people with abilities and stick them in a lab on some island in the middle of the ocean. In the Marvel Universe (and especially in X-Men comics and on Fantastic Four issue, Genosha is a small island nation off the coast of Africa where citizens are required to undergo genetic testing.

The Hard Part

Mr. Claremont runs Jittetsu Arms. The character is named for Chris Claremont, the comic book writer responsible for Uncanny X-Men, Days of Future Past, and many other graphic novels.
