[[Eric Doyle|Doyle]] is sitting in his office eating a doughnut, he remembers all the start overs of his life, the one with [[Lauren Shapiro|Lauren]], and also his date with [[Meredith]]. He recalls their date with Lauren at [[Sullivan Bros. Carnival|the carnival]]. A [[Game operator|game operator]] tries to cheat Lauren and Eric by using [[Telekinesis|his ability]]. Eric tells him to "knock it off", but the game operator pretends not to know what he is talking about. Doyle [[Puppet master|forces]] him to pick a prize for Lauren, just as [[Samuel]] comes over and asks what all the commotion is about. Doyle explains to him, and Samuel apologizes. The next day, Samuel shows up on Doyle's office and offers him a personal tour. At the carnival, Samuel asks [[Mac]] to show Eric his power, however Mac can not do anything and says that he couldn't stop "whatever it was" that Eric was doing. Joseph and Eric talk in a trailer, and Joseph tells him that his ability could come in handy with Samuel. He tries to warn Eric about Samuel and how he is tempted but Eric doesn't understand. Later, he goes to visit Lauren and asks her to go back with him but she tells him she doesn't want to be around people like that.
