[[Lydia]] wishes to speak with [[Amanda]] and tell her about her past. She remembers [[Amanda's father]], a man who told her he loved her. Lydia recalls how she [[Empathy|could feel that he was lying]] but chose to ignore it. When Lydia found out she was pregnant, she also found out that she could feel the wants and desires of others. Amanda's father wanted to run, so Lydia ran first. She ran home, but found no acceptance there, so she ran to her sister [[Carol Strazzulla|Carol]]. However, Lydia soon felt Carol's desire to have Amanda so, Lydia once again ran. She continued to run until she met [[Joseph]], who welcomed her into the [[carnival]] with open arms. She recalls how nice he was and wishes that he hadn't died. She says that [[Samuel]] is different and that she can feel his desire for power growing. Lydia then says that she does not need a power to see that Amanda believes the carnival is a place where she can fit in because when she was her age, she felt the same thing. |

Summary
