Summary
We find Hana where we last left her, being held captive by the Chinese military. Hana recalls a memory from thirteen years before when she was a young girl. Two weeks after her mother and grandmother died, Hana tried jumping from a roof using an umbrella to slow her down. After she is hurt, she recalls the memories of her family, friends and superiors telling her she needs to be more responsible, more careful and more respectful. She also recalls her mission given by Mr. Bennett.
Hana doesn't go down without a fight. She vanquishes her enemies, then forges e-mails from her mind identifying her as Dr. Gitelman from Israel. The Chinese government believes she is there to strengthen diplomatic relations between the two countries. She is allowed on the space mission.
As Hana marvels over the view of her planet from the ship when her ability kicks in and she remembers why she is up there. On a space walk, Hana finds the satellite and sends it a self destruct order. The satellite does not respond. It turns out the satellite has a defense mechanism: a virus. The virus quickly infects Hana and swarms her brain. As a last ditch effort, Hana propels herself onto the satellite and rides it down through the ozone layer, burning up and sacraficing herself for all evolved humans.
Two days later, a light goes flashing across the sky as Micah and Niki Sanders ponder over D.L.'s health in the hospital. Niki reassures Micah that the doctors are taking good care of him. As Micah is chatting on his computer with someone named SAMANTHA486e61, he asks her name and she says its Hana Gitelman, aka Wireless. She tells him death is never really what you think it is, and that the journey is just the beginning.
