Holy Crap!

  • Wow, now that was one heck of an ending! So many twists and turns, so many deaths, Thompson Jr.'s first name finally being revealed, the romantic subplots getting tragic resolutions... good stuff. On another note, I didn't recognize who Penny was turned into right before she was shot. The teleporter's boyfriend? --PeterDawson 03:35, 16 September 2008 (EDT)
    • Choose Penny's face. -Lөvөl 03:41, 16 September 2008 (EDT)
      • That was pretty "graphic" for a graphic novel. But wow, was that Sabine in the end? The one that's pregnant? --Dman dustin 04:20, 16 September 2008 (EDT)
        • Wow, great writing on this one. Very well done. I think it was Sabine in Gael's SUV at the end, unless Penny and Sabine switched places while they were in the woods... now that would be a twist. :)--MiamiVolts (talk) 04:32, 16 September 2008 (EDT)
          • I was just confused at first, because I was wondering how Sabine got in the SUV, when she was supposed to run away. At first I though she just "teleported" there. Oh well I re-read the novel, it doesn't show her getting in the SUV (the SUV just flashes its lights on Sabine and someone "Gael?" says he's picking up the package) and Sabine is seen later in the SUV. So a copy is capable of reproducing? I assume the father is a copy of Julien, and that the copy is some how able to pass down the genetic marker responsible for their abilities? This begs the question: "If they are exact copies of the original Julien, then why aren't they capable of "copying" themselves?" You would think a "copy" would have "pieces" missing, thus would be unable to a lot of things as the original; such as reproduction and having an ability. --Dman dustin 04:52, 16 September 2008 (EDT)
            • You're leaving out another possibility... that the Root Julien actually is the father (not a clone). It could have been in-vitro fertilization while Sabine was asleep and sedated, or it could have actually been the Root that Sabine slept with while she was in Paris. That would make sense considering the number of clones that were there to help capture Daphne's partner.--MiamiVolts (talk) 05:19, 16 September 2008 (EDT)
        • I laughed when Fallon said "I told you to hold the fire" after Fallon's men blow Penny's head off. It sounded like an innocent mistake. Chrisyu357 06:51, 16 September 2008 (EDT)
  • I like to know what gun was used to blow the entire head to little bitty pieces, because WOW there was nothing left of her head. Plus man the Evs Dropper army is just sick what they did to Donna's feet. --Snow Leapord 08:23, 16 September 2008 (EDT)
    • A worthy conclusion of five great GN months. The Penny twist was really nice written (and the "Thud" from Penny hitting Donna, as well as fake Donna putting on lipstick were both included back in "Foresight"), Donna's end is a classic tragedy, it was nice to finally see the Kill Squad again, and Thompson's survival opens up for a great return. I only wish that they had given Felicia a better end. And I'm not sure about the baby twist. It can work out, if they don't leave it hanging, but I rather would have seen a darker ending, with Bianca, Sabine, and Gael driving off into the night, devastated... Pierre 10:26, 16 September 2008 (EDT)

Isaac Mendez prophecy painting came true again

It should be noted somewhere that the position Donna is laying in when she says she loves Eric Thompson Junior too is the same as the Isaac Mendez painting of her. I knew that positioning looked familiar. --Snow Leapord 08:32, 16 September 2008 (EDT)

Sabine's Pregnancy

How did the Company know before her? Routine blood tests? Isaac Mendez? --Snow Leapord 08:35, 16 September 2008 (EDT)

Shell's power

Why was Sebastian Shell kind of invisible? Chrisyu357 08:36, 16 September 2008 (EDT)

  • It was Julia Ryan who looked invisible or transparent. I think it was just how they do the artwork that it came out looking like that.--Iceman 09:54, 16 September 2008 (EDT)
    • No, Julia is the blonde with glasses. Chrisyu357 10:04, 16 September 2008 (EDT)
      • It's five dead bodies, but only four names in the panel you are referring to, meaning that we can't be 100% sure what name belongs to what body. Given Agent Ryan's Assignment Tracker pic, I'd say she is the third body from the left; it looks like her body below the waist is missing. The question is if Agent Shell is the "transparent" body, or the shadowed body. Due to his AT pic, I'd guess he is the shadowed one (the one to the far right), but I'm not sure. If this is the case the transparent body is unknown to us... Pierre 10:09, 16 September 2008 (EDT)
        • It's Claude Rains! Man, he has really bad luck with bridges . . . --Paronine 10:23, 16 September 2008 (EDT)
          • Hehe... Talk about bad luck... Just passing by in the woods, walks right into a warzone and getting shot while still invisible. :) Pierre 10:31, 16 September 2008 (EDT)
    • On page 11 where do you see 5 bodies? I see Harding, Brooks, Ryan and Shell laying across the ground with their names above them.--Iceman 10:12, 16 September 2008 (EDT)
    • But from left to right there is a white mail with a mustache(Harding), an African American girl(Brooks), the body in the background(Ryan), a caucasion person with dark hair(Shell)and a shadowed figure(Unknown). Anyway the names are supposed to be for each of those bodies the one in the foreground that looks burned isn't referenced it is just there to show that it was a crazy fight but it is shadowed so that you can't get any clear picture of who it was because that person isn't of any interest to the stroy. But you are right that it is Shell who is transparent.--Iceman 10:32, 16 September 2008 (EDT)
      • I definitely agree with you on Harding and Brooks. But just as sure as I am on them, just as sure am I that the third body (glasses and long blond hair) is Ryan (the fourth body looks nothing like her). For me, the question is which body is Shell, and who is the fifth one? Pierre 10:30, 16 September 2008 (EDT)

The image: DOA Agents.jpg

        • Speculation: The body on the right is kind of charred, maybe he, and the car next to him, is the victim of a previous explosion? That's why he wasn't included in the DOA list - because he's not, like others, shot but was killed in an explosion. Chrisyu357 10:42, 16 September 2008 (EDT)
          • The body is also very stiff - the leg of the body is raised. Normally when one is shot, the body will relax when he dies. But when someone's killed in an explosion, his body will be charred and remained his position instead of relaxing. Chrisyu357 10:49, 16 September 2008 (EDT)
    • In order from left to right is Harding, Brooks, Ryan in the far background with glasses, Shell who seems to be transparent and the person who is shadowed. I believe that the person on the far right is just a soldier that is unrelated to the text the text goes with the bodies in order from left to right and the last one doesn't have a name with it.--Iceman 10:42, 16 September 2008 (EDT)
      • Artist Jason Badower has confirmed the transparent person as Manuel Garcia [1]. Meaning that Shell is the shadowed one. Pierre 17:54, 18 September 2008 (EDT)

Introbox image

I thought that this pic was suppose to show the central character, in this case Thompson Jr. Am I wrong? Pierre 17:03, 16 September 2008 (EDT)

I would say the Central Character is the unborn baby, that was what The Company's mission was about. But since he/she isn't born yet, would have to show the mother carrying him/her.--Snow Leapord 14:10, 17 September 2008 (EDT)

  • There are a number of cases where the graphic novel screenshot doesn't reflect the central character. The way I see it, it doesn't have to, but it should be an image that is both central to the theme/storyline of the novel and doesn't give away the main plot. In this case, Donna is central to the novel and its main character, Thompson, Jr. Oddly enough, NBC and I both settled on using this image separately. I found out a similar image was used on NBC's website after I had already uploaded it to HW.--MiamiVolts (talk) 14:21, 17 September 2008 (EDT)
    • I think the choice for the lead image is a fine one. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:10, 17 September 2008 (EDT)

No backup

To me, this tends to imply that Donahue and Perez are dead. I know we can't say for sure until they state it, but it's what I think happened. We don't know if any of the other new characters (Bahn, Dekker, Ferguson, Messer, Park or Rossling) died though. Dekker was stated as being at the battle and Harding came to his aid, but some partnerships were split. They've made it pretty clear Bridget's still alive, but she did say she wanted to help her partner. Bahn, Ferguson and Park's partners were also present and all were killed. If they came to help, they probably were too. Therequiembellishere 20:14, 17 September 2008 (EDT)

  • Agree about the idea that they're probably dead, but it's not conclusive. "They're all dead" is both vague and specific at the same time. I'll add some notes to the pages. In semi-related news about Bridget, Ollie Grigsby is writing a graphic novel that takes place in London. Hmmm... -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:21, 17 September 2008 (EDT)
    • Fantastic. Therequiembellishere 22:37, 17 September 2008 (EDT)
    • Isn't there a mention of "Bailey" in this GN? If so, I think that Bridget may be involved, which would be interesting.--Bob (talk) 22:48, 17 September 2008 (EDT)
      • Yep, Fallon asks about "The Bailey Case", and Gael says to forget about it, there's been a change of plans (12.3). I think we'll learn a lot more about that in an upcoming GN. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 23:03, 17 September 2008 (EDT)
        • For what it is worth, the Assignment tracker map now lists Felicia, Julia Ryan, Andre Perez, Sebastian Shell, Paul Harding, Penny, Donna, Julien and Connie as deceased. Donohue, Bridget and the rest of the agents do not have that mention, so I assume they're alive. --LeoChris 13:55, 18 September 2008 (EDT)
          • I'm confused as to why only some agents were sent and not others. And Donahue was in the first explosion, how did he survive? Therequiembellishere 15:53, 18 September 2008 (EDT)
            • Some agents may have been on assignment elsewhere. Obviously there's something going on with Bridget Bailey. Plus, if I were Bob or Gael, I would never send all my agents to a war zone unless I absolutely had to. And Donahue was never seen outside of Evs Dropper's cabin. We don't know if he was in the first explosion caused by the army of Julien clones. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:59, 18 September 2008 (EDT)
              • Thompson says, "Donahue why have we stopped?" Donahue responds, "Sir, we're being blocked!" Then -- Ka-boom. Therequiembellishere 17:43, 18 September 2008 (EDT)
                • Still - we can't mark him as deceased until he is confirmed dead. As easy as that :/ Pierre 17:51, 18 September 2008 (EDT)
                  • Woops. Maybe we can't trust the tracker map ... Manuel Garcia is not marked as deceased, nor as an agent. Howard Grigsby is also listed as an assignment. --LeoChris 18:31, 18 September 2008 (EDT)
                • Good eye, Requiem Bell. I had forgotten that Thompson radioed Donahue. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 19:23, 18 September 2008 (EDT)
                  • The assignment tracker map probably just hasn't been updated yet for agents Garcia and Donahue. Since we don't know for sure about Donahue, I added the relevant information to the notes section of his article.--MiamiVolts (talk) 19:29, 18 September 2008 (EDT)
  • Wait, where is Garcia? Therequiembellishere 19:06, 18 September 2008 (EDT)
    • El Paso, TX. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 19:25, 18 September 2008 (EDT)
      • I meant in the novel. I didn't see him. Therequiembellishere 19:57, 18 September 2008 (EDT)
        • He's the agent that appears faded/transparent.--MiamiVolts (talk) 21:51, 18 September 2008 (EDT)
          • How do we know? Therequiembellishere 22:27, 18 September 2008 (EDT)
            • Jason told us. -- Lulu (talk) 23:02, 18 September 2008 (EDT)
              • jason said "FADING AGENT: The fading agent is teleport boy. I think his name is Manuel. It's in the script somewhere. I just got given a bunch of jpegs of agents who had to die. So there he is." garcia is a teleporter?!¿! --cookie 20:31, 19 September 2008 (EDT)
  • Quick related heads up; Some of the Agents went on their own will, against Company orders. In Ev's trojan blog, Harding went even though he was told not to. I can't remember if this applies to anyone else, but Bob made an announcement for agents to stay put, not to go.--Riddler 23:57, 18 September 2008 (EDT)
  • I believe all those agents were killed by the kill squad with Gael's orders. What does DOA stand for? I assume it stands for Dead or Alive. Fallon asks the Bailey case meaning they also have orders to kill her. What do you think?--Rvsdl 02:01, 19 September 2008 (EDT)
    • At least Paul Harding is there on his own free will; DOA is Dead on Arrival. I doubt Bailey is meant to be killed. --Riddler 02:15, 19 September 2008 (EDT)
    • Right, DOA typically stands for "Dead On Arrival". Even before Gael ordered the Kill Squad to do a sweep and tally the body count, Thompson is recalling a few of the dead for us and that's where "DOA" is used in the novel (after each of their names and their ages). Although it's possible the Kill Squad was involved in killing some of them, I think that's speculation as they were shown to be still fighting the army of Julien clones at this point in the novel. Regarding the Bailey case, I think Gael was intending for the Kill Squad to go help Bailey out for one of her cases, but I guess he changed his mind.--MiamiVolts (talk) 02:21, 19 September 2008 (EDT)

Since it didn't label Manuel as dead, do we know he is? Therequiembellishere 23:09, 19 September 2008 (EDT)

  • Jason Badower said he was one of the agents who had to die.--MiamiVolts (talk) 23:47, 19 September 2008 (EDT)
    • Could you put up another link to that? I didn't see it when I first looked through the 9th Wonders article. Therequiembellishere 10:06, 20 September 2008 (EDT)
      • Same link Lulu posted.--MiamiVolts (talk) 10:39, 20 September 2008 (EDT)
        • Ah, okay. I saw someone mentioned that BBC would be starting Heroes soon, which makes me think out next informant will be Bridget now. Although since Brian did it a few times, it could be him again too. Therequiembellishere 12:53, 20 September 2008 (EDT)
