Niki's age

Jessica's page states that Niki and Jessica are twins. Jessica was born in 1976, which would make both Niki and Jessica 30, right? Where did we get 33 for Niki? Are they really twins? - User:Ryangibsonstewart

  • Yeah, what reference did we have that stated Niki is 33? ~ Red = 6:25PM (EST) Jan 3, 2007
    • The character's ages, as listed, are from the NBC press package that was released before Genesis aired. They haven't been confirmed on-screen.--Hardvice (talk) 19:23, 3 January 2007 (EST)
  • We are assuming they are twins... there has been no canonical reference to them being twin sisters. All we know for sure is that they are sisters and Jessica died at age 11. It is quite reasonable that Jessica was the older sister who has somehow been absorbed by the younger after her death. - User:Johngon
    • We know in Six Months Ago that Jessica Died in 1976 and In the Car Registration of the convertible Places the Present Timeline in 2006-2007. in Chapter 2 And since We agree that Jessica IS older than Niki, and If Jess was still alive then she would be around 31 years of age MAX! This could mean Niki is Younger than Jessica by around 5 Years old, cause Micah is around 10 years of age. And Niki could have Micah by the age of 18 ( Being Family Friendly show ) If we can say that Niki Gets to know D.L. more before they had Micah by the age of 21 then that would close the age gap by 3 years younger than Jessica. Therefore the Press KIT is WRONG! Unless Niki had Micah at the young age of 15, which is the average start of Female menstruation, that would increase the age gap by 8 years. ~ ~ ~ ~ Red = 19:54, 4 January 2007 (EST)
      • Jessica was born in 1976. This would make her about 30-31 right now. Niki's supposedly 33. She could still be the older sister assuming that age is correct, I dont think there's any evidence that Niki's positively younger. So if Micah is about 10 then she had him when she was about 23. This gives Niki and D.L. plenty of time to have met. In any case 33 is what NBC announced so it's the best age to include until they explicitly make it clear what age she's supposed to be. (Admin 20:17, 4 January 2007 (EST))
    • That's exactly what I was thinking - I don't know why we jumped to the conclusion that they were twins, other than that Jessica's manifestation looks like Niki - doesn't mean the original sister was a twin. And the ages - where did these come from? - RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 16:17, 9 December 2006 (EST)
      • From the Womens Correctional Facility, Niki Talks about Jessica being able to play music and Niki Having no idea about them, which proves that Jessica IS Older than Niki.
        ~ ~ ~ ~ Red = 07:40, 9 February 2007 (EST)
        • Actually, I've played the piano since I was five, and my older brother didn't know anything about music. It's certainly possible that Niki was older or that Jessica was older. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 17:02, 11 February 2007 (EST)
        • You have very strange notions of what constitutes proof.--Hardvice (talk) 17:20, 11 February 2007 (EST)
          • Deductive Reasoning, Your Older than the other sibling and you wouldn't remember that your younger sibling learned to Play the piano? come on! Are you going to say that they are separated from birth?
            ~ ~ ~ ~ Red = 18:12, 1 May 2007 (EDT)
            • Where on earth did you get the idea that Niki said she couldn't remember Jessica learning how to play? Here's what she actually says:
NIKI: We used to have a piano in our home.
DR. WITHERSON: You played?
NIKI: Chopsticks, barely. My sister ...
NIKI: She played beautifully. I used to ... play with her sheet music. I didn't ... know what
it was. It was just ... dots and lines. I would ... get out my crayons and connect the dots.
Jessica used to say ... (crying) that I could turn Mozart into a monkey.
All she says, basically, is that she couldn't read sheet music.--Hardvice (talk) 23:49, 2 May 2007 (EDT)
  • Do we even know if Jessica was twins with niki, cause Dr.Zimmerman said that there were only three clones:Niki,Tracy, and Barbara so Jessica couldn't have been niki's twin.
    • Yeah, we know that they are definatly NOT twin...1.)b/c they were born in 2 different years and 2.) they're probabley not even biologically related, seeing as how it seems that Niki (and Tracy and Barbara) was seperated at birth and given up to 3 different families......Im guessing that Niki was just given to Hal and Kelly at her birth.--Anthony Gooch 22:00, 12 October 2008 (EDT)

  • I think what we saw in Godsend was a brief takeover by Jessica, not an example of Niki using superhuman strength. --Ted C 10:04, 23 January 2007 (EST)

It could be that Niki Power's is Actually Alter-Ego. And the Strength is from Jessica [1].

~ Red = 6:25PM (EST) Jan 3, 2007

I propose That Niki's power be Alter-Ego [2].

~ ~ ~ ~ Red = 19:54, 4 January 2007 (EST)
  • Hmmm. I'm not sure that's so much of a power as a condition. Let's wait and see what happens in the upcoming episodes. - RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 20:46, 4 January 2007 (EST)
  • The most bizarre thing I'm noticing about Niki/Jessica is that their differences are physical as well as mental. Jessica has a tattoo, but Niki doesn't. The reflection of Jessica in Genesis was bloody, but Niki wasn't. Weird. --Ted C 14:50, 9 January 2007 (EST)
    • It's obvious that Niki's Powers is Alter-Ego cause we haven't seen any evidence that Niki has the Powers when she isn't in Jessica state.

Can any one make an Alter-Ego Article?
~ ~ ~ ~ Red = 14:57, 13 January 2007 (EST)

      • It's not obvious that it's her power and at this point it wouldn't make sense as a power. As Ryan suggested, let's wait to see how it plays out first since the most obvious power is enhanced strength. It just so happens that this power only manifests with Jessica so far. (Admin 15:28, 13 January 2007 (EST))
        • I do think it would be beneficial to have an article called split personality (I have a red link to it on my user page as an article I'd like to see), but this would be a reference to her condition, not her power. - RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 16:48, 13 January 2007 (EST)
          • That seems like a logical approach since you're right, it's a condition not necessarily a power. (Admin 16:50, 13 January 2007 (EST))
            • I thought that Niki's power was being able to contact her dead sister, like a medium her sister could use when she felt like it. And then Jessica has the super strength, but couldn't do anything without Niki. -- Spooky 21:21, 12 March 2007 (EDT)
              • A lot remains to be understood about Niki/Jessica. I'm not exactly sure what Niki's power is, and I don't think the writers have made it very clear, either. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:54, 12 March 2007 (EDT)
  • Also in Godsend we see that Niki and Jessica comunicate w/o any reflective surfaces (at the very end).
  • I think the writers were clarifying Niki's ability in FIVE YEARS GONE and the graphic novel WALLS. Did anyone notice Niki retained her super-strength without Jessica's existence? -- Adrenaline

Symbol/No-Symbol Comparison

Now that Niki's shoulder has been seen sans-Symbol and we know Niki's has a Symbol... can we get side-by-side comparisons? I remember this being quite a discussion earlier. - User:Johngon

  • You meant to say Jessica's has a symbol. Right?--E rowe 22:13, 8 February 2007 (EST)
  • I was under the impression that Jessica has the tattoo on one shoulder, and Niki on the other, like a mirror image. Is this wrong? Applejuicefool 16:17, 20 February 2007 (EST)
  • They've never shown Niki with a tattoo on either shoulder. But then again, I'm not sure they've shown both of her bare shoulders at once, so I guess it's possible. However, Aron Coleite and Joe Pokaski talk about it a bit in the latest CBR interview, and they sure make it sound like only Jessica has the tattoo.--Hardvice (talk) 16:24, 20 February 2007 (EST)
  • We've also never seen any tattoo on the left shoulder, just the right. They make a pretty big deal about telecasting when it's Jessica and when it's not by showing us that tattoo. (Thanks, NBC, couldn't figure it out by Ali's acting alone, could we?) And Isaac cleaning off the tattoo in the painting of Jessica was a pretty big tip-off that one has the tat and owe doesn't. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 19:40, 20 February 2007 (EST
  • Also in Godsend we see that Niki and Jessica comunicate w/o any reflective surfaces (at the very end).

I don't know how to make a redirect. But, since a lot of people spell her name Nikki, and especially since it's spelled that way on her website on screen, there should be a redirect here from "Nikki."--E rowe 22:15, 8 February 2007 (EST)

  • We try not to make redirects for misspellings. It makes it harder to track them down. When somebody tries to link to Nikki and it comes out red, it's an indication that they've done something wrong.--Hardvice (talk) 22:26, 8 February 2007 (EST)
  • First, to make a redirect, type #redirect and then the link.

Second, we generally don't redirect misspellings, otherwise we risk encouraging misspellings throughout the site. Just because people regularly misspell her name does not make it correct. The only canonical example of her name being spelled with two ks is as her username. That does not mean that's how she spells her name, though. For instance, I might choose to spell my username "Stewart", despite my actual surname being spelled "Stuart" to create privacy (especially if I run a site on which I strip). Besides, her name has been spelled "Niki" numerous times onscreen, so that's how we spell it. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:27, 8 February 2007 (EST)

    • "We try not to make redirects for misspellings. It makes it harder to track them down." Harder to track what down?
    • FWIW I would take the opposite approach. We don't need to come up with every possible misspelling. But I think redirecting as many likely misspellings as we can would be an improvement. --E rowe 10:01, 9 February 2007 (EST)
      • We don't redirect misspellings so that, for instance, if someone misspells a link in an article it will show up red and can be found and corrected more easily. If we redirected to the misspelling then it would show up as a proper link and we'd have more misspellings in the articles. For instance when I'm writing long articles I've probably accidentally linked to "Nikki" before. When I preview the article "Nikki" will stand out in red and I'll notice it and correct the spelling. Not creating redirects for misspellings helps discourage the spelling mistakes, so that's why it's been a policy here to generally not redirect to misspellings. (Admin 10:27, 9 February 2007 (EST))
        • OK. That makes a lot of sense.--E rowe 15:01, 9 February 2007 (EST)

Lead description

This lead description is a bit long (possibly the longest of all our articles). I think it's about time to split it into a lead description and an "About" section, like Hardvice has written for some of the other main characters. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 19:34, 13 February 2007 (EST)

Run! reflection

I changed the note that Jessica sees Niki in the reclection and on the stairs. Niki and Jessica actually switch spots at that moment (i.e., Niki takes control for a moment). When Niki's on the stairs, it's actually Jessica in the reflection, not Niki. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:22, 19 February 2007 (EST)

  • I'll defer on that, since I don't have a recording, but as I remembered it, Jessica looked at the "mirror" in the stairwell, and saw herself. She then turned and saw Niki on the opposite side of the stairwell, halfway up to the next floor. They conversed as if they were both present in the stairwell instead of through a "window", as they do when talking through mirrors. Essentially, it seemed as though Jessica hallucinated Niki in the stairwell with her. --Ted C 15:30, 19 February 2007 (EST)
    • You're right, it's really confusing. First, Jessica sees Niki in the 12th floor plate. Then on the 11th floor plate, she sees Niki again, and turns around. The shot cuts to Niki in the stairwell, pleading. The next shot of Jessica is a closeup -- it's hard to tell, but there are lines on her face. The lines are the words in the floor plate. It's as though you drew on a mirror and then looked at yourself through the mirror. You can still see yourself, but a little bit fuzzy, or with marks down your face. And since it's a closeup shot, it makes it that much more difficult to tell. ... What I did find interesting, though was that Matt was able to hear inside "her" mind (whoever that "her" might be). I actually think that's the biggest clue as to what Nissica is all about. (Forgive me for coining that term, I couldn't help it.) :) — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:40, 19 February 2007 (EST)
      • Nissica. I like that.

Merge Nikki & Jessica articles

If it turns out the rumor about Niki and Jessica integrating is true would it be better to merge the two articles? We could still leave the articles that go into more detail about their actions and experiences under the various names separate and link to them like is already done for Niki & Jessica on their separate articles. --Snow Leapord 13:45, 24 September 2007 (EDT)

  • Yeah, we would probably want to leave the old articles. At one point, they were basically two separate characters, so even if they later integrated, we'd still have two separate articles. We don't just delete a character's article when they die, after all. The articles document the characters throughout their history, not just as they presently exist. However, things like the character havbar and the portals do list current characters (or more accurately, current characters for the duration of the current season), so if Jessica is truly gone, then she would not be listed there (though she would, of course, continue to be listed on the season one version of those elements).--Hardvice (talk) 14:04, 24 September 2007 (EDT)

Prepare to Remove Power

i'm pretty sure shes gonna lose her power, if she hasnt already. Maybe make a note about it until it is shown to have happened. Dean Harper 01:05, 6 November 2007 (EST)

  • Eh, that's speculation. Mohinder said that his antibodies are not affecting the virus, but we don't know (as of yet) that she cannot use her ability (though highly likely the case). Even if her ability is lost, that is still her ability, so we wouldn't remove it, but note it in the powers section. For now, let's make a note that since she injected herself with the virus, presumably her abilities are not available.--Bob (talk) 01:19, 6 November 2007 (EST)

Is she gone?

Well, I hope so, she started to become boring, oh wait, she already was boring. Ever since she assumed "controle" over Jessica, Niki became less interesting. She cried the whole time and sometimes went berserk and after she's got infected, she only cried. Niki was kinda annoying lately, so I'm glad if she's really gone forever (I doubt that they're gonna inject her charred body with Claire's blood). --BloodyFox 09:47, 5. December 2007 (CEST)

  • Well, I don't hope so, she started out as a single mom trying to find her way into the world. After Jessica and D.L. gone she kinda took back that life. I think we should give her a chance. And boring ... Niki ? She kicked ass when she owned that thug !! And that whitout super powers !! I would really miss Ali on the show if she were gone. But I doo miss the mirror effects and Jessica's fiestyness ... she was a firecracker. Stupid writers why not make her a Astral Projector that way we would have Niki & Jessica, or just let the virus change her genetic make-up that it kinda brings back the alter-ego thing, kinda make it intergrate into her power or whatever. But it wouldn't be manditory. If Niki were to interact more with others and have her powers she's a keeper if you ask me !!! DarthYotho 12:17, 5 December 2007 (EST)
  • Crying and going berserk are characteristics of a boring person? Annoying, maybe, but boring? -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 13:40, 5 December 2007 (EST)

When I watched the building exploding I was like NOOOOO Niki you can't die, please tell me u used the last Super Strength you still had in you to break down a concrete wall or hide in the cellar !!!

  • Niki may be gone (for a while) but what if Jessica comes back for season 3....i mean, season 3 is titled "Villans"...and what do we all love about Jessica, the fact that she's an evil psyhco-bitch villan that's known to break men in half and slap around an entire police squad and a therepist, ah i'm so in love with her....when people have disordeds they have been known to have a relapse or two, and in that stressful of a situation i wouldn't be suprised if Niki needed someone to be strong for her--Anthony Gooch 15:57, 5 December 2007 (EST)

Apparently Jessica is coming back. And will be there more than Niki

  • I read it in the spoiler; I think it'd be interesting to see Jessica now. Espescially since she became more enjoyable when she loved Micah and was protective of him like his mother/aunt or something. But Niki is getting on my nerves a little. Jason Garrick 16:07, 5 December 2007 (EST)
  • How is that possible? Jessica is just another personality, not another being. --Hero!(talk)(contribs) 21:13, 5 December 2007 (EST)
    • I remembering read that spoiler. It was from Kristen Veitch. So... I don't think that's happening.--Ice Vision 21:28, 5 December 2007 (EST)
      • Niki is great, and if Kristen is right it would be cool for Niki to not be death but just being in a subconscious state of mind. It could be that Jessica had to take over to save both of their butkicking-buts, she could've come out because the virus effected Niki much sooner then Jessica, meaning jessica could still access her power. Jessica could've blown their way out or find a hidden room that could shelter her from the blast.
        • I hope Niki returns cause it would kinda be stupid if they kill of both parents within months of each other, poor micah but yeah for news of niki coming back, I'm crossing my fingers.--User:AlexLinderman

Or a new power has emerged from the two personalities ... and that's the reason they got out and survived. DarthYotho 17:05, 24 December 2007 (EST)

Spoiler page

Shouldn't there be a spoiler page for Ali's "Tracy Strauss" character? - Jasonbres 14:33, 31 August 2008 (EDT)

  • If you'd like create one, feel free. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 14:36, 31 August 2008 (EDT)
    • I just created one, but I don't think it's any good. I need help. - Jasonbres 14:48, 31 August 2008 (EDT)
      • It looks good to me--all that's needed is more published spoilers, I think. Since I'm not following published spoilers closely this year, I'm not the right person to add to the page. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:21, 31 August 2008 (EDT)

Marking as deceased

  • We should keep in mind what we did with DL before we mark her as deceased. Just a note since someone tried to do that today. Let's wait to see what happens in the new season to see if she actually did die in the explosion.--Bob (talk) 14:50, 17 September 2008 (EDT)
  • Creator confirmation from what's-his-name's blog, "ALI LARTER AS TRACY (YEP, NIKI'S REALLY DEAD) AND GOVERNOR BRUCE BOXLEITNER"

NooooooooooooooooooOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooo (a la Dark Vadur)--DarkPhoenix 09:50, 24 September 2008 (EDT)

  • Who's "Dark Vadur" ?, do you mean Darth Vader?--NiveKJ13 12:41, 28 November 2008 (EST)
  • She's playing a different character. Doesn't mean Niki is dead. Sincerely, Thrashmeister [ U | T | C ] 20:32, 24 September 2008 (EDT)
  • DarkPhoenix is referring to Greg Beeman's blog. The statement is a caption to a photo of Ali Larter in the latest entry. (| "Beeman's Blog - Season 3 - Episode 2") Micah is listed as making an appearance in episode 3 (according to the NBC blurb), so hopefully there will be confirmation soon. If not, this may be as close to official as we get considering the New Orleans storyline is out. ... On a side-note, nice to meet everyone! - Moogleray 12:33, 25 September 2008 (EDT)
Ouch... well I really hope they give the New Orleans storyline some closure at least... Sincerely, Thrashmeister [ U | T | C ] 17:25, 25 September 2008 (EDT)

Formal Name

On the birth certificate, she is named "Niki Sanders". Does that make Niki her formal name? Chrisyu357 10:59, 1 October 2008 (EDT)

    • Probably just a small mistake on part of the web prop's designer that made it--Anthony Gooch 16:18, 1 October 2008 (EDT)

Niki's death

I was looking at the Beaming Beeman for The Second Coming, and I noticed this image of what appears to be Niki being put in a body bag after the explosion in Powerless. Does this mean there was originally a scene where Niki's death would be resolved before Tracy met Micah? Sincerely, Thrashmeister [ U | T | C ] 17:59, 13 December 2008 (EST)

  • Probably. It could have also been something from the scrapped second half of the second season. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 18:35, 13 December 2008 (EST)
    • That's sickening! Poor Miki. :( I'm guessing they have completely scraped her from dyeing of sever burns, because the dead Niki we saw in season three didnt look as chard as she does there.--Cairoi 11:29, 28 December 2008 (EST)

What is up with all the images on this page? They look terrible as they distort the text. It's also not very common for us to add images to a character page. I would remove them all. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 21:04, 20 December 2008 (EST)

I called this up elsewhere, I thought it was awkward, but then I remembered that there are some images in season one and two pages of some characters and tried to adjust the image. Intuitive Empath - Talk - Contributions 21:36, 20 December 2008 (EST)
Season summary pages are a bit different since they have no graphics, no colors, or anything like that on them. But the images on this page are just excessive. Heaven help the user who has a computer with low resolution! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 21:54, 20 December 2008 (EST)

Wait if they were triplets then weren't they born all on the same day and are same age? Gabriel Bishop 12:38, 13 January 2009 (EST) Gabriel Bishop

  • We know that they are triplets(or at least clones of an original), which means they should be the same age, but not necessarily the same day.--Steelymcbeam 12:45, 13 January 2009 (EST)
  • Yes, Niki, Tracy, and Barbara are all triplets. That's why they're all listed as being born on August 24, 1974 and their ages are all listed as 32 (in March/April 2007). -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 17:15, 13 January 2009 (EST)

Would Nikki's sister Jessica (not alter ego) be her adoptive sister? ---- - Bender · Talk-

  • Not necessarily. We don't really know who the real parents of Niki are. We know her birth certificate says Hal Sanders and Kelly Sullivan, but we're not sure if those are her real parents or her adoptive parents. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 21:59, 29 March 2009 (EDT)

Lead Image

I'm not a big fan of the lead image, she looks more like Jessica than Niki. Can't we use one of these? At least one of her smiling, Niki was a kind person, not one to go around frowning at people that was Jessica's thing. --Skullman1392 00:51, 18 May 2009 (EDT)

  • Could I get some feedback please? --Skullman1392 15:24, 20 August 2009 (EDT)
    • Yeah, that's fine. I'll change it to one of the others in that set...though Niki did do a lot of frowning the first season. She was rarely a happy person. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:28, 20 August 2009 (EDT)
