As [[Peter]] sits in [[Wandering Rocks]], pondering the secrets of the [[box]], he asks [[Caitlin]] out on a date. They walk along the [[Cork]] beach together. Peter unsuccessfully tries to bring forth [[lightning]] as Caitlin tells him the Irish tale of [[Cúchulainn]]. She tells Peter how Cúchulainn found and bound a mermaid, but let her go when she promised to give him great strength in battle if he would but look upon her name written in his shield. Peter--inspired by the story, and believing that the mermaid either gave Cúchulainn her [[power]] or showed the young man the power he already possessed--attempts to call forth lightning once again. This time he says Caitlin's name, and is successful. Peter tells her he can [[telepathy|hear her thoughts]]. She knows, and they return home. |

Summary
