As the Emmy-nominated Heroes returns, the extraordinary strive to be ordinary four months after the explosive events in New York, but deadly new threats loom as brand-new individuals with abilities emerge worldwide--written by executive producer/creator Tim Kring and directed by executive producer Greg Beeman. As the second volume of Heroes begins, the fates of Peter (Milo Ventimiglia), Nathan (Adrian Pasdar), and Matt (Greg Grunberg) are revealed, following the horrible showdown with Sylar (Zachary Quinto) and Peter's uncontrolled nuclear detonation miles above New York City. As everyone attempts to move on, a new sinister force begins stalking and murdering Heroes. With the family hiding in Southern California, H.R.G. (Jack Coleman) and Claire (Hayden Panettiere) attempt to live as inconspicuously as possible…which proves to be easier said than done. Meanwhile, after landing in feudal Japan, Hiro (Masi Oka) meets his hero Takezo Kensei (David Anders). Twins Maya (Dania Ramirez) and Alejandro Herrera (Shalim Ortiz) hope to make the crossing into the U.S. from Mexico, in hopes of finding help with their deadly abilities. Dana Davis, Noah Gray-Cabey, James Kyson Lee, Ali Larter, Sendhil Ramamurthy also star. Nick D'Agosto, Lyndsy Fonseca, Cristine Rose, Barry Shabaka Henley, George Takei, Eriko Tamura and Adair Tishler guest star.

• 9/18 -- NEW! Several clips from Four Months Later are released.
  • Mohinder gives a lecture about a disease that affects only evolved humans, suppressing their powers and eventually killing them. He considers it a plague and asks for special funding. After the lecture, he is approached by an agent from the Company and offered a job.
  • Claire starts her first day at a new high school. Her father cautions her about keeping a secret. She also meets West.
  • Maya and Alejandro escape from the police.
  • Hiro meets Takezo Kensei. Kensei says that he came to Japan aboard a training vessel and stayed to seek his fortune. He was paid to fight off several bandits, which he did by getting a local to dress up as him and distract the bandits while he picked them off from a tree.
  • Hiro tells Kensei that he is from the future and tells him about the stories he read as a child. Kensei reacts with skepticism.
• 9/13 -- NEW! According to the National Enquirer, Mohinder is approached by a strange guy named Bob, who offers him a job with a mysterious company. Mohinder realizes the company is his enemy and trying to penetrate the organization. Also, Claire nearly gets run over by her new boyfriend West, who she later learns can fly. She also has a run-in with head cheerleader Debbie, does a backflip, and breaks a bone, but then uses her powers to heal herself.
• 8/24 -- HeroSite's inside information reveals that West will debut in this episode, but won't fly to the Hollywood sign until the fourth episode. Kensei will also debut in this episode.
• 8/20 -- Kristin Veitch blogs that "one major character is presumed dead in the season premiere (but isn't), but another will die in that very same episode!"
• 7/30 -- George Takei, a regular on The Howard Stern Show, told Howard that the characters' powers have to do with genetics and that the origin of the powers will be revealed in the very first episode.
• 7/30 -- Kristin Veitch believes that the mystery of David Anders playing Kensei will be revealed in episode 201.
• 7/25 -- Heroes Pictures posts six images reportedly from Four Months Later, including the two images below.
• 7/20 -- Jack Coleman told SCI FI Wire, "It makes it very clear, in the very first episode of this year, [Mr. Bennet] is not defanged." He added that the Bennet family is reunited and has relocated, "and it's a new world."
• 6/22 -- Kristin Veitch says that the first episode is "very Claire-centric".
• 6/21 -- IGN announces the title of the episode. As explained in the title, the episode will take place four months after the events of How to Stop an Exploding Man (with the obvious exception of Hiro's story since he went back in time to 1671). Other highlights:
  • Hiro's storyline will pick up at the exact moment that he was last seen in How to Stop an Exploding Man.
  • George Takei will return in this episode, reprising his role as Kaito Nakamura.
• 6/14 -- SpoilerFix reports that Four Months Later "will feature a villainous Japanese warlord who is known as White Beard, various old Japanese villagers as well as Tuko, a West-African man working for Irish mobster Ricky.
• 6/12 -- Kristin claims that Blackie is also known as Will.
• 6/4 -- Princess Keriyama will debut in this episode, according to Kristin Veitch.
• 5/26 -- TV Squad reports that some of the characters that will premiere in this episode include Maya, Kane, Princess Keriyama, April, West, May, Georgie, Blackie, Ricky, Bob, and Kincaid (who is probably Detective Fuller).
