- This graphic novel collection contains some novels that feature Hiro. Other previously released novels that are told from Hiro's perspective include The Crane, String Theory, and The Trip, Part 2. Other novels that feature Hiro but are not told from his perspective include Road Kill, Walls, Part 1, The Ten Brides of Takezo Kensei, Our Lady of Blessed Acceleration, Part 2, and The Natural Order of Things. It should be noted that Walls, Part 2 and Stolen Fate (which are included in this collection) are not told from Hiro's perspective.
- This novel was originally numbered 168. However, following the release of From the Files of Primatech, Part 3, the interactive graphic novel numbered 168 was changed from Novel Approach to From the Files of Primatech, Part 3. Novel Approach seems to have been removed from NBC's site altogether.
