Alejandro Herrera was an evolved human who was on the run with his twin sister Maya.

Alejandro's sister Maya discovers Alejandro's new bride kissing her ex-boyfriend and unwittingly kills everyone at the wedding except for Alejandro. He later finds out he can reverse the effect of her powers, and the two set out for New York to find Chandra Suresh to help them. Alejandro cuts a deal with a man to get to New York, but after a disagreement about Maya riding up front with him, the coyote kicks Alejandro off. Alejandro catches up with the truck to find Maya has killed everyone on the truck, shortly before they arrive at the home of Nidia.
As the two attempt the crossing into Mexico with Nidia, Maya and Nidia become separated from Alejandro. Distressed by the situation, Maya's eyes start to leak black fluid. Alejandro arrives in time to revive Nidia, who declares that Alejandro and Maya are evil and runs away. Alejandro is arrested in Mexico for trying to steal a car, and Maya helps him escape along with a white man, who offers to help them. While driving, the three find Sylar in the middle of the road, and he offers to help Alejandro and Maya find Chandra. After Sylar convinces Maya to kill border patrol guards to help them cross the border, Alejandro calls her a killer and blames Sylar, telling Maya to pick between himself and Sylar. In Virginia, Alejandro tells Maya that Sylar is a murderer, and tries to leave with Maya, but Maya refuses to go and stays with Sylar. Later Alejandro goes to Sylar's room and they fight, before Sylar grabs a knife on a table and stabs Alejandro, killing him.
Evolved Human Abilities
Alejandro is able to use his power to suppress and counteract the effect of Maya's fatal ability.
