The Company
| Theory | Evidence | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| The Company as Clandestine Protector Theory:AWI (Agency Without Initials, also known as The OWI, or Organization Without Initials) is a clandestine espionage organization created after a single or series of terrible incidents involving one or more specially powered. Because of this, they seek out powered agents who they believe are not too dangerous or out of control, especially those they can maneuver into a place where they feel accepted and indebted to the organization. To this end they take all measures to follow and monitor those who may be special. They are also likely trying to develop a program to create these gifts. |

|
| The Company is some manner of medical organization or corporation, akin to the Center for Disease Control. | None |
|
| The Company is a part of the Hanso Foundation and is involved in the DHARMA Initiative. | None | The Hanso corporation (from Lost) has a vested interest in improving human genetics. |
| The Company's mission is to protect the human race from evolved humans with special abilities. The Company firmly believes that any means they use to achieve this mission are justified. They do this through "bag and tag" operations where people with special abilities are captured and tagged so that they can always be located. When captured the powers of the "special" are evaluated and a threat assessment is made. Specials whose powers are judged to be a threat are not released. The Company then studies the powers of these evolved humans to determine how their powers work. This final mission explains why Sylar was so important to The Company and why he was not killed in spite of the dangerous nature of his powers. | Mr. Bennet and Thompson discuss the company's mission. (Company Man) |
|
| The Symbol marks evolved humans that work for the AWI. Since this symbol is of Japanese origins, this points to a Japanese origin for the AWI. | Ando recognized the Symbol as a combinition of two Japanese symbols.(Godsend) |
Cockroach
| Theory | Evidence | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| In Godsend, the roach that crawls in Sylar's holding cell has some importance. | Sylar focuses on it. (Godsend) | |
| Sylar will use his power on the cockroach in his cell in order to become resistant to radiation. | Sylar focuses on it. (Godsend) | |
| Sylar acquired the cockroach's abilities of suspended animation. | Sylar focuses on the cockroach. (Godsend) |
|
| The cockroach is Sylar's god since it represents evolutionary perfection. | Mohinder called the humble cockroach the "Pinnacle of evolution". (Genesis) | Other than Mr Bennet placing the Cockroach in the room, there is no normal way it could have entered. |
The Deveaux Society
| Theory | Evidence | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Mr. Bennet, The Haitian, and Eden McCain are part of this society. | None | |
| The Society might be a group founded by Simone that acts as connection between the evolved humans and the rest of the world, or as a therapy group to help them deal with their powers. | None |
Evolved humans
For disproven theories, see here.
| Theory | Evidence | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| The AWI couldn't have given Matt his powers because he was already on the list and that requires the genetic marker. He wouldn't be on it if he wasn't already evolved. AWI most likely enhances or uncovers the abilities while searching and documenting them. This is why Ted and Hana didn't know about their powers beforehand. | Matt's name is on the list. (Homecoming) | Matt also exhibited his powers before he was kidnapped, although that might have not been his first encounter with the AWI. |
| A group of evolved humans will eventually form a "league of heroes" similar to the Justice League | None |
|
Episode:The Fix
| Theory | Evidence | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Most events in the episode The Fix will be revealed as just that: fixes. The characters are being taken for a ride. They're being set up. Claude is pretending to befriend Peter, but it's all a set up. He's using Peter. Keeping tabs on him, either for Mr. Linderman or someone else. The Haitian told Claire that Peter was being watched. What better way for an operative to hide but by being invisible? Dr. Witherson wants Jessica to come forward because she's really an operative for Linderman, and wants to cut a deal, get Linderman's assassin out of jail and back to doing his dirty work. Claire's discovery of her biological mom is too easy. Mr. Bennet planted her, just as he hired 'normal' people to pose as Claire's parents. Mr. Bennet saw the wind chimes. He sees her befriending Zach again. He knows she still has her memories, but he needs to prove it. So he's setting Claire up, and "Fire Mommy" is the bait. | None |

The Mark
For disproven theories, see here.
| Theory | Evidence | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| The mark may be used by Mr. Bennet and The Haitian to mark heroes they've already encountered | Both Matt and Ted were abducted. Both have the mark. (Collision, Nothing to Hide) | According to How Do You Stop an Exploding Man?, the mark is the injection site for a radio tracking isotope. |
| The mark is a scar left by an insertion of a tracking device. | The needle is used to inject a radioactive tracking isotope, leaving the mark at the injection site. (How Do You Stop an Exploding Man?) |
|
Mr. Muggles
| Theory | Evidence | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Some fans have speculated that it's significant that Mr. Muggles licked Claire's blood after her run-in with the garbage disposal. | None | It probably isn't since it has been stated and confirmed that the power is in the brain, not the blood. |
| Mr. Muggles name may be a reference to "Muggles" in Harry Potter. That is to say, non magical people without powers. | None |
|
| Mr. Muggles is evil and wants to take over the world. | None | His plan for world domination might require waffles. |
Peter's scar

|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Peter's scar will be on his left side. | His bangs cover the right side of his face when he meets Future Hiro. (Collision) | If his hair covered the scar, he wouldn't look so different without it. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Peter will get the scar before he meets Hiro face-to-face. | Future Hiro says he looks "different" without the scar. (Collision) | This doesn't necessarily mean Future Hiro had never seen Peter without the scar. After five years of seeing Peter with the scar, it may just be disconcerting to see him five years younger without the scar. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Sylar will get jealous of Peter's power and will try to remove his brain, but the attempt will be stopped by the other characters, leaving Peter with a horizontal scar along his forehead. |
|
Also, it can be assumed that a man would look very different with a scar along the entire length of his forehead, and Sylar has met Peter and may have an intuitive understanding of his power. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Either Claire will die, or Peter will never see her again after he gets his scar. | None |
| ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Peter will get the scar from exploding. | None | None | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Peter will no longer get the scar. | None |
| ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Peter will get the scar after Sylar tries to remove his brain. | None |
