| A story from Suresh's childhood haunts him to this very day. |
Summary
His father's death causes Mohinder to reflect on their past together. In 1982, Mohinder listens to a story his grandmother tells him about the Hindu Goddess, Kali. In the present, Mohinder is in New York, NY, claiming his father's body at the morgue. He then goes to the Chelsea Cab Company to investigate the taxi his father drove. This taxi, in which Chandra was found dead, is ripped apart and covered with blood. As Mohinder accepts a job as a taxi cab driver with his father's employer, Mr. Bennet surreptitiously follows Mohinder with a camera and a telescopic lens. In the end, Mohinder decides he will continue his father's research in hopes of finding his murderer.
Notes
- Monsters is the only graphic novel in which no character is an evolved human.
- Chandra's physical appearance in the flashback resembles the original, stand-in actor (see Chandra Suresh#Trivia and Image:SureshBook.JPG).
