Air Date

This will be on this monday, right? --Xmuskrat 15:35, 17 January 2007 (EST)

It sure will! :) (Admin 15:37, 17 January 2007 (EST))

I am seriously stoked. --Xmuskrat 14:30, 18 January 2007 (EST)

It's been a long time coming, hasn't it! I'm excited for 4 things: a new episode, a new GN, new characters, and increased activity on the site. - RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 14:39, 18 January 2007 (EST)

Counting down

  • Going to be a flurry of activity tonight after Heroes airs to get the site updated. As usual I'll write up a "synopsis" after the episode which I should have ready around midnight EST. If we don't have an episode screencap by then I'll snag one as well so that we'll be ready to set it up as AOTW. We've got the drill down nicely by now. :) (Admin 15:57, 22 January 2007 (EST))
    • A flurry of activity? Why? What's going on tonight? - RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 17:13, 22 January 2007 (EST)
      • I can't tell for sure if you're kidding or not. :) But just in case you're not I mean that after the new episode airs tonight there will be a lot of article editing going on to update the wiki with info from the episode. (Admin 17:20, 22 January 2007 (EST))
        • Oh, man, there's a new episode tonight? Hmm, that changes a lot of my plans... :) - RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 17:35, 22 January 2007 (EST)

Linderman's accountant

It sounds like his last name is "Malsky", and spoilers reported it as "Aron Malsky" IIRC.--Hardvice (talk) 23:25, 22 January 2007 (EST)

Yeah, that sounds good to me. Let's go with that spelling unless we find something else out. - RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 23:51, 22 January 2007 (EST)

Kensai/Kensei

Okay, small issue - when Hiro speaks, the captions read "Kensai" with an a (more than once). The museum information, however, spells it with an e: "Kensei". Wikipedia redirects Kensai to Kensei. I say we go with the Kensei spelling. Agreed? - RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 00:47, 23 January 2007 (EST)

Mohinder's FBI agent?

OK, how do we distinguish this guy from the FBI agent? We can go "FBI agent (male)" and "FBI agent (female)", but that seems less than helpful. We can go with "FBI agent (Los Angeles)" and "FBI agent (New York)", but that's similarly problematic. I'm actually leaning towards "FBI agent (II)" ... at least then we won't run into problems if another female, LA-based agent is introduced.--Hardvice (talk) 00:58, 23 January 2007 (EST)

Yeah that sucks. I think we'd better do that, and do it before somebody calls him "Black FBI agent" - ew, how awful. Yeah, let's go with "FBI agent (II)" - that way, we can pipe it easily to get rid of the "(II)". Good idea. - RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 01:25, 23 January 2007 (EST)
Go here: Talk:FBI agent. -- Cuardin 14:43, 23 January 2007 (EST)
The female agent appears to be a supervisor, if that helps. --Ted C 14:58, 23 January 2007 (EST)

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't that Special Agent Thayer. She is the same one that appeared when Matt and Audrey were questioning Ted and the Department of Homeland Security came and arrested him.

Hana's bit

So do you think we should include the "preview" that introduced Hana as cannon? If so, what do we call it? It seemed to me like a scene that just didn't make Godsend for time or something and certainly appears to be cannon. Maybe "Pre-Godsend preview"? I have it on tape by the way. --Fcphantom 01:15, 23 January 2007 (EST)

I say include it in the notes, sort of like we do if something is released on NBC.com or sometimes for graphic novel references. Personally, I consider it "near canon". - RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 01:23, 23 January 2007 (EST)
I kind of get the feeling (from the fact that they keep calling it a preview) that it might make it into a later episode. I'd treat it like any other preview trailer for now.--Hardvice (talk) 01:43, 23 January 2007 (EST)
This scene is echoed in the new graphic novel so I get the feeling it won't be in an ep. Even though it's called a preview it was really a whole scene. I'm thinking now it should get it's own article since it's kind of unique. If it shows up in a future episode we can always change it. --Fcphantom 11:50, 23 January 2007 (EST)

Good episode screenshot?

  • Any suggestions for a scene that would make a good image for this episode? (Admin 02:02, 23 January 2007 (EST))
    • Hmmm. There are lots of things that are godsends in this episode, but few that are particularly easy to illustrate (and those that are are awfully spoilery while the article is AOTW). Peter and Claude seems like the most likely choice, or Hiro with the sword (even though it's a fake) or the painting in the tube.--Hardvice (talk) 05:44, 23 January 2007 (EST)
    • I went with Hiro and the sword for now, just to complete the portals and such, but we can definitely change it.--Hardvice (talk) 05:50, 23 January 2007 (EST)
      • I think Hiro and his sword is a better choice than Claude. I would keep it that way. - RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 11:41, 23 January 2007 (EST)

Niki's jail

Niki's jail definitely needs to be added as a place. I don't necessarily like calling it "Niki's jail", but I can't think of anything else. Ideas? - RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 11:41, 23 January 2007 (EST)

  • What about Niki's cell? Or are you referring to the police headquarters she's being interviewed in, assuming her cell is in the same location? --ZyberGoat 12:23, 23 January 2007 (EST)
    • Well, I was really talking about the whole jail. She's not staying at a police station - they generally only have holding cells for over night, not maximum security & solitary confinement for 2+ weeks. I think the article should be about the jail, not just the cell inside the jail. And I'm still thinking "Niki's jail" (ugh) is the best option. - RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:38, 23 January 2007 (EST)
      • The guard's uniforms have standard "Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department" badges. No help there.--Hardvice (talk) 16:17, 23 January 2007 (EST)

Screen Caps

Just a note, now that it's no longer obvious, to mention that I screencapped everything I could think of from this episode. Check out category:Images from Godsend if you need caps.--Hardvice (talk) 12:08, 23 January 2007 (EST)

2 Minute Preview

  • That 2-Minute preview of Hana meeting Ted is now up over on the NBC site (Video->Featured Videos->Wireless). Maybe we should create an episode called "Wireless" to cover what occured during the preview. - Yoshie (talk) 12:35, 23 January 2007 (EST)
    • Thanks for posting the link - I sat through a mind-numbing hour of "Deal of No Deal" (ugh, even typing the name of the show gives me the heebee jeebees), and missed the preview. Thanks, crying babies! :)

I'm not sure an entire article for a two-minute preview would be beneficial, especially if we have to scrap the article, say, next week. There's been a lot of extended previews that we don't write articles about. I would wait and see. I think it would fit being referenced in the notes, but I don't think an entire article for it is necessary. - RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:36, 23 January 2007 (EST)

Museum Name

I noted this last night, and just verified it on the NBC Rewind, the plaque seen behind the dinosaur display says "New York Museum of History & Technology". The museum is, of course, fictional. The "Museum of History and Technology" was the original name of the Smithsonian in Washington DC, and there is no such museum in NYC. What should we call the article? --Orne 13:33, 23 January 2007 (EST)

I noticed the same thing when I was writing the synopsis. I originally took the name off the placard, but then when the on-screen text was different I went with that instead. Personally I'd go with the on-screen text since it's more prominent and any errors in it would have been more noticable when they previewed the episode prior to airing. It probably doesn't matter a whole lot. We've been going with Museum of Natural History so far which is what the on-screen text said, so we should just call it that. (Admin 13:43, 23 January 2007 (EST))
I say we definitely go with the onscreen text - it's the same as the Burnt Toast Diner/Cafe deal - the text says Diner, the logo on the window says Cafe. For consistency alone, let's stick with "Museum of Natural History". - RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:32, 23 January 2007 (EST)

Corny Episode?

Was it just me, or was this ep just a bit cheesier than the norm? It was just overloaded with gaffes and comic timings. -- Cuardin 01:36, 24 January 2007 (EST)

  • I did laugh a bit more during this episode than most. I found Mr. Bennet's quips to Matt funny. Plus the scene in Isaac's apartment when Hiro comes in and mentions Mr. Linderman and Nathan pops out from behind the painting. I wouldn't consider it cheesy myself, just a little different... which isn't necessarily a bad thing to me. (Admin 01:42, 24 January 2007 (EST))

Broken Nose

  • He's credited as "broken nose guard" during the credits. Any strong preference for one or the other? If not, we should probably go with the credits.--Hardvice (talk) 03:03, 24 January 2007 (EST)

Rufus

  • Okay, I've seen this episode three times now and I still can't pick Rufus out in any of the Primatech scenes. Anyone have any idea why he was credited?--Hardvice (talk) 00:56, 25 January 2007 (EST)
    • I didn't notice him either. Weird... Maybe Ben Murray plays the lizard? - RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 01:10, 25 January 2007 (EST)
      • I didn't see him either. I figured maybe the scene he was in got cut and they didn't update the credits. (Admin 01:42, 25 January 2007 (EST))
