Allan Arkush was a director and executive producer on Heroes. Arkush joined the crew immediately after the pilot and has served as an executive producer on all three seasons. He was let go by NBC after Season 3.
About
Since 1970 Allan Arkush has been directing both film and television. He is best known for directing more than 20 episodes of Tim Kring's Crossing Jordan, and the film Rock 'n' Roll High School which he helped develop the story for as well. He's also edited, acted in, and written several film and television projects, including L.A. Law, St. Elsewhere, Moonlighting, I'll Fly Away, Dawson's Creek, The Practice, and Ally McBeal. Allan has also directed music videos for such artists as Elvis Costello, Bette Midler, and Mick Jagger. In addition, Arkush directed rock-music television movies such as Elvis Meets Nixon, Shake, Rattle and Rock!, XXX's & OOO's, and Young at Heart.
Allan has worked with Clint Howard in Rock 'n' Roll High School, Grand Theft Auto, Get Crazy, and Tim Kring's Crossing Jordan.

- Allan Arkush is the only person who has directed both Frank Sinatra (Young at Heart) and Joey Ramone (Rock 'n' Roll High School).
- Allan's first job in music was at the Fillmore East in New York, where he handled the psychedelic lighting for such bands as "The Who" and "The Grateful Dead".
- According to Greg Beeman's blog, Allan often directs episodes immediately following episodes directed by Greg. This way, each of the two regular directors can focus on their own episodes, and will have more time to help out and oversee "guest directors".
