Well, I am officially the first host on the G4 ''Heroes [[Post Show]]''. Man, it's going to be cool! They have a lot of really great things planned, some of which I'm not allowed to say quite yet. All I'll say is that I think we're going to be talking about the ''Post Show'' quite a bit on this site. From what I'm gathering, we will be referencing the ''Post Show'' about as much as we reference the CBR Behind the Eclipse interviews.<p>For those of you who don't know about the ''Post Show'' or G4 yet, [[Season One]] will air in a marathon on G4 on Saturday and Sunday, October 27th & 28th at 12 pm EST. Then, there will be a mini-marathon on Saturday, November 3rd, where G4 will air all episodes of [[Season Two]] thus far (episodes 201 through 206). Finally, at 11 pm EST, the ''Post Show'' will air. (See [http://www.g4tv.com/heroes/splash.aspx here] for more information.) This is cool--it's a live and interactive segment that will feature exclusive interviews with members of the cast and crew, live viewer commentary, interactive polls, behind-the-scenes footage and a whole bunch of other stuff which I can't divulge. Even better, the episodes which air on Mondays will be repeated on Saturdays on G4 (at 10 pm EST) for those who missed it the first time around, or who just want to relive the experience. The ''Post Show'' will also air weekly, with new content, new interviews, new cast and crew members, and plenty more for us to discuss on those late Saturday nights.<p>So how can you be involved? * Since the Comic-Con 2007 registration filled up early I took the precaution of registering early for Comic-Con 2008 so I should be there this year. If anyone else is interested in going I recommend registering early because they have a tendency to fill up quickly. Plus apparently hotels in the area fill up quickly and it was already difficult to find one nearby without having to pay both arms and both legs (it already costs an arm and a leg). As the conference gets closer I'd like to get a better idea who looks like they'll be going and I'd be happy to bring extra [[:Image:Are_you_on_the_wiki2.jpg|t-shirts]] for people who will be there. The world doesn't need yet another when there are good large ones out there already. 2) It would probably distract people from the wiki itself. 3) We can focus on what we do best. We run an excellent wiki that's only gaining in popularity. Let others who are experienced at running forums run the forums.<br />That being said I'm not opposed to a "loft" or "water cooler" area where people can be a little more chatty than they might on the article discussion pages, though this page is already somewhat for that. I just personally don't see a big need for a separate forum especially when many of us already frequent other boards like imdb or 9thwonders.com. While you can implement a forum as a series of wiki articles it tends to be more clumsy to maintain and lacks some of the nicities that people will expect out of a forum (and as a result it won't attract as many people and won't be as popular). * The writer's union is going on strike because their contract has expired. The big sticking points include royalties for online sales, online streaming ad revenue, and compensation for work for websites. It's industry-wide, but affects different shows differently. Reality TV, which is (officially at least) "unscripted", shouldn't be affected at all. Scheduled films with existing scripts should be able to proceed just fine, as should most shows which have completed scripts waiting to film. Unfortunately for ''Heroes'', all of its writers are also producers, so even if they have unfilmed scripts ready to go, they likely won't be able to film them. Incidentally, last time this happened in the 80s, lots of shows attempted to proceed anyway. ''ST:TNG'', for example, tried to adapt left-over scripts from the original series and film some cheap-ass clip shows (which is what a lot of sitcoms did). This strike could have happened in 2004, but then the Directors' Guild accepted a deal that included better pension and health insurance benefits, instead of DVD and other electronic media subsidies, that the writers felt they had to go along with. So there's been some progress in the WGA strike, and I thought I'd post it here. A 11/17/07 [http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,312019,00.html Fox New article] reports that the WGA and Network producers are to return to negotiations on Monday, 11/26/07. It also reports that the producers offered a portion of licensing fees that are charged to websites for airing shows, but the WGA rejected the offer asking for a percentage of the online ad revenue to also be included. * I'm far from an expert in the whole process here, but my limited understanding is that the studios are claiming that they don't know what these alternative revenue streams are going to look like yet so they can't offer a percentage of it. If true then that's fair enough, but why not just offer a proposal along the lines of "If revenue is between a-b you get x percentage, if it's between b-c you get y percentage, etc."? I imagine that's how they'd make the decision if they did know the revenue already. ** Nicely put, but in the published response letter before the strike it sounded more to me as a questioning of the viability of the new mediums altogether (i.e. we don't know whether they will be profitable, so we can't promise you any portion of the profits). I don't think the WGA believed them, though, and that's why they went on strike. Now, Nick Counter is claiming on the [http://www.amptp.org/ AMPTP website] that the reason the Alliance can't offer a percentage of new medium ad-money from the networks is cause they aren't receiving any from the networks. That sounds to me like a circular argument, since it's the Alliance's job to negotiate with the networks/studios for what they want. From what Nick wrote, it sounds as if the networks' and stuidios' position is that since a base payment is already made whether the show is a hit or not, they cannot afford to offer a percentage of the ad monies. I think a good compromise may be to offer a reduced base payment and add a percentage of the ad monies. Only then would both the studio networks and the WGA be taking the same risk, so it seems fair. **Right now, the strike is just impending. If it actually occurs, I don't think it needs its own page because it's not really a part of ''Heroes''. It would be like writing an article about TiVo since a lot of people watch ''Heroes'' using TiVo. However, if the strike occurs, it would definitely need to be mentioned on the article about [[Season Two]], if it interrupts the season. ''[[Heroes: Origins]]'' already mentions it, I believe, for the same reason. If we suddenly get five episodes in a week (which won't happen) because of the strike, then each of those episode pages would have a note that said something about the reason the episode was shown in an odd order. It's a documentary show on the History Channel called Stan Lee's Superhumans. Basically the show is run by Stan Lee, who sends Daniel Browning Smith, a man who is considered to be the most flexible man in the world. He searches out humans across the world who are rumored to have "Super Powers", he witnesses them do their thing, and then he tries to find an explanation for the phenomenon. The first episode, for example, had a man who is [[electrical absorption|able to absorb or conduct electrical current without sustaining any harm]]; a man who's brain works faster than a calculator; a 5'6" man able to [[Super strength|snap steel, bend metal, and hold a motorcycle back with his hands]], and a blind man who can navigate via echolocation. Another episode featured a man who could punch with more lethal force than a 30+MPH car crash. It's wild stuff, and though Heroes was a drama show, I'm sure enough of us are fans of Super Humans in general, so I'm positive most of you would enjoy it. Visions of Earth needs help!
Hey everyone! So as most of you probaly know, I am writing a fan fiction called "Visions of Earth", currently I am needing some help with the administrative side of it. E.g. Updating character histories, abilities etc. So, I am looking for someone who is interested in helping me. There shouldn't be too much work to do considering only one episode has been released. Few things that can be improved
Ok, first off, Great wiki, but i would improve a few things.
On the Character pages, we have (example)
Claire Bennett: Claire is daughter of Nathan, but adopted daughter of Noah. She can regenerate and blah blah blah
About Claire
She lived in Texas as a cheerleader...
Show History
In Season 1 Claire discovered her ability, ran away from sylar and gets held hostage by Ted, blah blah
In Season 2 Claire moves to Costa Verde and falls for West, blah
Then it goes
In Season 3 episode 1, claire does this
In Season 3 episode 2, we see claire for a slit second drinking tea
In Season 3 episode 3, claire does this and this ....
Why can we not have a sweeping few paragraphs for the whole of volume 3 & 4 & 5 like we do for Season/Volume 1 & 2 rather than an episode by episode breakdown (which could be in its own article like "Claire Bennet: Season One History" and "Claire Bennet: Season Two History".)?
And finally my second idea.
Maybe we could have some articles on "Character X & Character Y History" Documenting the relationship between two different characters in the show history, so when two characters who do not normally meet (like Ando and Noah) there could be one article to tell us the relation and previous meeting of these characters.
This would need a LOT of new articles (~30 characters in Heros, meaning we would have 900 new articles) But when we are watching season 5 (hoping there will be a season 5) we can instantly track previous characters interactions even if they barely met before. Mr Hiro 21:01, 10 April 2010 (EDT)

So many of those silly relationship articles--which could serve the purposes stated above, despite being fan creation articles--are stubs, and are looong stubs, at that. Even the connections page could be beefed up, but that page really is rarely touched, so I'm afraid to see what would happen when we add 900 more pages like it. Ultimately, this would be a huge project, and one I'm not very excited about. If somebody would like to create it in their user space and then move it into the main namespace when it's all finished, that is something we can certainly discuss. - This is my first time posting something here so please bear with me: I have a minor alteration request that I would like to run by the community and that is changing the character box on the right side where it says known ability to just ability because I find it a bit confusing for people we know have an ability, we just don't know what it is so none is posted, to me implying they don't have one. Fans of The 4400
Did any of you watch this fantastic show that ran from 2004 to 2007? Since activity on Heroes Wiki has slowed dramatically, I've decided to spread my wings: I've taken over The 4400 Wiki as an administrator and I've been working on the site for a couple of weeks now. We're still in the very early stages, and very few articles have been written, so any help we can get is appreciated. Any fans of this show may contribute, although admittedly Wikia's interface takes a bit of getting used to. NBC 'Fan It' Program Begins May 17, New Ad Campaign
NBC will be starting a new affinity program later today, May 17, called "Fan It". I'm hoping that there might be something related to Heroes in the program, though I wouldn't place good odds on it. You can read about it on the NBCUMV website, at MediaWeek, or ThingFo. According to the press release, it will be "allowing visitors to earn points by watching videos, chatting about shows, and sharing content with friends. The program requires fans to sign up to participate at http://www.NBC.com/fanit, though they can do so using their existing Facebook, Twitter, MySpace or MyNBC accounts.

Kaito Nakamura does have an abillity.
I was watching the bonus dvd from season 2 and i noticed something in the deleted scenes.
He hase the abillity to see the variables of any situation and predict the outcome.
Ando: Like a computer? Kaito: I'm faster. How do you think i've done so well in the stock market?

I miss you guys
Does anyone still edit around here (except for good old Ryan)? I've just spent half an hour browsing through the articles and discussions on this site out of boredom, and I've been feeling small blasts of nostalgia and a lingering sadness that Heroes has forever ended and, really, so has our little community of Heroes Wiki editors. The Event Wiki just doesn't seem to have picked up the same momentum that we had around here. Anyway, this is also a sort of shout-out to all those Heroes Wiki editors I've met and worked with throughout the years, since I never really said a proper thank-you. - *sniff* Hey, Radicell. Good to see you around. Yeah, I'm not sure why The Event Wiki hasn't taken off, and more specifically I'm not sure why Heroes Wiki fostered such a neat community. I've been tangentially part of a few other wiki communities -- for shows I've enjoyed more -- and I never felt the same kind of camaraderie as I felt on HW. Alphas
I know very few people are going to read this, but for the ones who do, there's a new show airing on Syfy called Alphas that has grabbed my attention. It seems similar to Heroes in many respects and I've been impressed by the pilot episode. This made me smile
So I was reading this interview with Rockstar Games' founder, Dan Houser. Look at the last question on the last page.
It's funny. I spoke with Tim Kring, the creator of the TV show Heroes, earlier this year, and even that show had so much mythology going on he said that the writers lost track. But thankfully, the fans were so obsessive they had basically put together a wiki, and the writers were pulling information from that.
DH: We do the same. I would be very surprised if anyone working on a long running thing like this that is popular these days isn't. The wiki is pretty good. For some of the older games, where I just want to remember a particular person's name or a particular brand or something, it's probably in our records, but some of the details stuff from the wiki is amazing and we love it.

Binge
Hey, everybody. The websites TV Binges & Primatech Files are going to do a Heroes binge on September 6 from 1:00 to 9:00 pm. They will be watching the episodes Genesis, Company Man, Five Years Gone, How to Stop an Exploding Man, Four Months Later..., 1961, and Brave New World. (What a great list!) Animated Gifs and 9thwonders.com
Sandubadear asked on Talk:Hachiro's ability about having a gif of Hachiro's ability being used to materialize Katana Girl (transform her into a physical person), and after I added some screenshots to the ability page Sandubadear told me on my talk page that the desire was really for a moving gif. As I am not comfortable making a moving gif for this ability, I asked Admin about making it, whether it was okay to do so here/elsewhere and if the wiki should have a policy on animated gifs in general for our documentation, etc., and noting that I saw some abilities animated like Tommy's in the new Tumblr blogs shown on the revised 9thwonders.com site. Admin pointed me to this community portal for my questions.
The wiki has had a category for Animations for a while, but we use them only sparingly in articles (most animations don't work inside a gallery). Hopefully, if this is allowed, someone else can help Sandubadear out.--MiamiVolts (talk) 17:12, 9 November 2015 (EST)

- I agree, and I also do not make animated gifs. Should any more be created I would just suggest that they try to limit to the fewest number of frames necessary to accurately demonstrate the idea in question. (Admin (talk) 20:46, 9 November 2015 (EST))

Regarding the blogs, for reference, there is the NBC Heroes Reborn Tumblr blog (nbcheroes.tumblr.com)(add this to links?), and there is the NBC 9thwonders Tumblr blog (nbc9thwonders.tumblr.com), which redirects to 9thwonders.com and appears to be a blog with posts from different blogs. The example I noted above of showing Tommy's ability appears to be an official reblog at 9thwonders.com/post/126125489081 (lower right animation) of another user's blog post: endiness.tumblr.com/post/123935456172.--MiamiVolts (talk) 01:06, 10 November 2015 (EST)
