==Anyone a fan of the Big Bang Theroy?== |
I am trying to start a wiki [[the-big-bang-theory.wetpaint.com|here] but is very hard by my self. If anyone is willing to give me a hand than please say. --Skywalkerrbf 14:41, 15 August 2008 (EDT) |

* I like the show, but I don't watch it enough to be able to contribute to a wiki about it, and really don't have the time, either. I'm a much bigger fan of Lost than I am of Heroes, but I don't contribute a whole lot to Lostpedia: because I spend the majority of my wiki-ing time here. I believe that if I'm going to do something, I'm going to do it right, and not spread myself too thin. Good luck with the wiki--if you need any help getting it started, let me know. I'm not familiar at all with wetpaint's platform or even how to edit the pages, but if you need anything that I can help out with, just let me know. -- 17:19, 15 August 2008 (EDT) |

** I'm on the same page as Ryan, I love the show but I'm not a big enough fan to be able to contribute to a wiki. Good luck with it though, it looks promising! -- 18:38, 15 August 2008 (EDT) |

*** Funny, my wife was just reading over my shoulder, and she thought RBF was going to make a wiki about the actual theory about the Big Bang. She couldn't understand what people would do on the wiki. "So...Do you believe in the big bang? Oh, really? That's great." Not much more to say, I suppose. -- 18:50, 15 August 2008 (EDT) |

**** Lol yer a wiki like that would be a bit boring. My main problem is writing up episodes and Character pages. I think I will plan to finish making the pages and then try write up a least 5 of the episodes next week. If anyone else would be interested in helping then it would be a HUGE help to me. --Skywalkerrbf 08:09, 16 August 2008 (EDT) |

Feel free to check out a radical new fan fiction: Heroes: The Game. Each installment to the game is a "mission" for the player to complete. Hey everybody. I just got an email from BuddyTV. BuddyTV recently went down to LA to visit the Heroes set, and will be posting articles, interviews, and videos from their visit. Check out their site every Monday from now until Season Three starts. Lots of good behind-the-scenes stuff and maybe some hints of upcoming storylines. The first article and video can be seen at this link. Enjoy! -- 15:31, 18 August 2008 (EDT) |

Hey everyone! So as most of you probaly know, I am writing a fan fiction called "Visions of Earth", currently I am needing some help with the administrative side of it. E.g. Updating character histories, abilities etc. So, I am looking for someone who is interested in helping me. There shouldn't be too much work to do considering only one episode has been released. So if anyone is interested, please respond on my talk page! Thank you! :) -- 19:04, 26 March 2010 (EDT) |

Does anyone have this? If they did it would make it a load easier for me to contact members of the cast of Heroes for Interviews. Rebeka Montoya is the only actor involved in the websodes who contact details i don't have. :( --Skywalkerrbf 10:06, 19 August 2008 (EDT) |

* Try an online translation service, like Babelfish or Google Translate. -- 11:53, 21 August 2008 (EDT) |
* Unfortunately I can't help you, I'm studying Mandarin...but I can say that online translations are wicked glitchy for Eastern languages, especially those with characters, and using Babelfish or Google might result in some serious Englinese, or are least some pretty insulting Japanese. |

Ok, first off, Great wiki, but i would improve a few things. |
==Competition Idea== |
I believe that we could launch a competition in which people would design clothing to appear in the graphic novels. Each month people could send in their designs and they would then be included in a novel. We would of course have to get the graphic novel writers and artists to agree. I think we could only do it for a year but I think it would draw a lot of attention to the site. If we had a different item of clothing each month it wouldn't get repetitive, like a t-shirt one month and a hat the next. It would of course almost completely depend on getting the people involved in the novels to agree, but Ryan knows a lot of people and I know one or two, I think if we worked on it it could be really good. What do you think? --Skywalkerrbf 17:20, 22 August 2008 (EDT) |
* Jason Badower did something like this already for the graphic novel The Death of Hana Gitelman, Part 1 where he had people submit designs for the dresses that the visitors to RGS were wearing. (Admin 17:35, 22 August 2008 (EDT)) |
** That is partly were got it from, but all the clothes would be the same brand, I was thinking 'Rob Beck' but the name is just because it would be cool to get my name in there. --Skywalkerrbf 17:40, 22 August 2008 (EDT) |
*** I think such a competition would be difficult. Artists often don't get very much notice that they'll be doing a new novel, so when they do know and want to solicit suggestions, they can; but it doesn't really pan into becoming a regular competition, imho. As far as clothing designs are concerned though, maybe Admin would welcome a HeroesWiki Hat design competition for Season 3? I think Admin still has t-shirts of a previous design. Just a thought.--MiamiVolts (talk) 17:59, 22 August 2008 (EDT) |
**** Yer I think it would be difficult, but I also think it would be possible. What you said about artists not getting much notice, when was the last time NBC used a new artist? If we could get all of the current artists on board then that wouldn't be a problem. I think most of the artists would be willing to do it and it would be very interesting to do for a year. --Skywalkerrbf 18:05, 22 August 2008 (EDT) |
***** May 19 was the last time a new artist's work was debuted in a graphic novel... I think a competition like you're describing is a very cool idea, but I'd rather it come from the artists themselves than from me. I have developed relationships with a few of the artists over the last year or two, and I wouldn't really feel comfortable capitalizing on those relationships to ask them to risk their artistic integrity to help promote Heroes Wiki. I thought Jason's contest was very cool and it helped generate a lot of fan interest, but that kind of thing has to come from the artists, I think. -- 21:11, 22 August 2008 (EDT) |

*I was thinking, it may be good if we could get some transcripts for Heroes episodes - either we could do them ourselves, or we could get permission from another site to use theirs. Either way, I think it would be a good resource for reference purposes. What do you guys think?-- 15:48, 18 August 2008 (EDT) |
** We used to have a link in the Links section to a site with them, but I don't see them there now, and I think I remember something about the domain expiring or something? In any event we won't have the transcripts actually on this site due to copyright concerns, but if there's a site with a comprehensive and high-quality set of transcripts we can add the link back to the Links page. (Admin 16:30, 18 August 2008 (EDT)) |
*** I didn't know that transcripts were a copyright infringement, since Lostpedia does it. Isn't it simply considered fair use?--Referos 17:19, 18 August 2008 (EDT) |
**** Reproducing an entire script is not fair use. Using a few memorable quotes is. Same with images: grabbing some screenshots is fair use, but hosting entire minutes of video is not....I have a copy of all the transcripts for Seasons One and Two if anybody needs me to search something or look up something specific. -- 20:46, 18 August 2008 (EDT) |

== Ollie Grigsby's charity auction == |

Then it goes |
Hey everybody. Just wanted to mention that Ollie Grigsby is running a charity auction. He's offering several really cool Heroes memorabilia items: three signed comics, a signed pilot script, a signed Comic-Con exclusive DVD cover, a "Volume 2" t-shirt and more. Proceeds go towards Child's Play Charity, an organization which donates toys, books, and games to children's hospitals around the world. Check out the auction at this link. Also, check out Ollie's user page for more information. -- 23:27, 12 December 2007 (EST) |

* Hey Ryan, E-bay is saying "This listing (160189561401) has been removed or is no longer available." Can you let Ollie know that his auction expired/was removed? ==Archive toc== |
The ArchiveLinks template is ticking out due to the restrictions. I'll be switching a few manual links shortly (bear with me for a few minutes).--MiamiVolts (talk) 15:22, 29 August 2008 (EDT) |
* I'm not sure why template:tocright isn't working either... -- 15:50, 29 August 2008 (EDT) |
** Ok, it's better now. Tocright is a template just like ArchiveLinks is. As soon as one template stops working on a page, the rest of the templates on a page that haven't been executed yet stop working as well. Also, we shouldn't have more than 20 topics in a single subpage. I added the new archive you hadn't done yet and moved some of the entries to a new one.--MiamiVolts (talk) 16:08, 29 August 2008 (EDT) |
* It seems pretty silly to me that we're limiting the size of the archive pages. We're making limits because it's apparently too difficult to change a template (which we ultimately don't need). It makes more sense to me to break up archives at the end of months--even if it means we have to manually add links to the sections (or not at all, and only leave links to the pages)--than to make informal policies based on the capabilities of our templates. -- 17:26, 29 August 2008 (EDT) |
** Yeah, I guess we could get rid of the links altogether, but I think it helps to have them. Also, the 20 topics limit isn't silly, and isn't just about this template. See Template talk:ArchiveLinks for related discussion and the reasons why.--MiamiVolts (talk) 18:26, 29 August 2008 (EDT) |
*** One of Admin's plans was to write a bot that would automatically archive pages we assigned with a certain category, but I don't know if he's had time to work on it. PS: When the manual links are made, the ArchiveLinks template is still used to create the source code. What you do is copy the line(s) of html source code the template creates to WikiConverter, then copy the converted wiki markup code back to HW. This is explained in the template help.--MiamiVolts (talk) 18:26, 29 August 2008 (EDT) |
*** I'd rather get rid of the links altogether (especially when we already have seven large archives that aren't regularly accessed). A link to the archive is fine, and links to each section works for pages that have fewer archive pages, but arbitrarily cutting off pages at 20 sections doesn't make much sense to me. Cutting the pages off at the end of the nearest month makes much more sense. -- 10:29, 30 August 2008 (EDT) |
**** Rather than delete them, I'd rather move the tocs to a separate subpage, as I think they're helpful. Also, I think cutting off by date is just as arbitrary, but if we do cut by date I think we should split the archives into fortnights to keep them easily navigable. Is that an acceptable compromise?--MiamiVolts (talk) 13:48, 30 August 2008 (EDT) |
***** I'm not the one to make decisions--I'm just sharing my opinion. I don't think we should cut off archives every two weeks--sometimes we go months without any activity on the talk pages, sometimes we have a ton of activity in a very short amount of time. I think cuts at the end of the month make much more sense. -- 14:21, 30 August 2008 (EDT) |
****** I was also expressing my opinion. Since there's no set guideline, I'll wait for some more people to chime in before making more changes.--MiamiVolts (talk) 14:51, 30 August 2008 (EDT) |
*I thought we just archived a discussion page when it exceeded a specific file size (which will give a warning at the top of the page when you edit it). I used to go through Special:Longpages and archive discussion pages (should do that unless someone else wants to).-- 14:37, 30 August 2008 (EDT) |
** Yes, this discussion is mainly for this page, where a toc had been added for the archives but the sections were unlinked. I added the section links since there's a lot of discussion that goes on here and I think it helps to have the archives better organized and accessible.--MiamiVolts (talk) 14:51, 30 August 2008 (EDT) |

*Hi guys! As you may or may not be aware, rbfskywalker and myself have been invited to take part in an NBC conference call to publicize the new season of Heroes, featuring Tim Kring and Zachary Quinto. There are 50 other journalists/news outlets involved, so it's not guaranteed that we will be able to ask any questions at all; however, we are here opening up the opportunity for you to submit a question for consideration. Rbfskywalker and myself will choose the best ones and add them to our list of possible questions to ask. When submitting your questions, I ask that you try and come up with something original and creative, which won't be asked by anyone else! Thanks,-- 15:18, 31 August 2008 (EDT) |

** It went very well thanks. I got to ask my question before LS and I asked about the group of 12. He asked his a bit later and asked about Angler Peritiile (sorry for bad spelling) and the deleted sences. Hoping to be aloud to be in the other one they are doing later in the series. --Skywalkerrbf 14:37, 5 September 2008 (EDT) |

****** The call was about a hour and a half long for me, so probs about a hour and a quarter not counting the time spend waiting. Most of the questions where to the effect of 'What is Sylar going to be doing next season?' so I feel our questions stood out. In responce to my question he said we would be seeing some of the group of 6 in intresting and inventive ways, or sothing to that effect. He mentioned the websides but we knew that already. Quite intrestingly Tim has neve rread a x-men comic.--Skywalkerrbf 18:44, 5 September 2008 (EDT) |

* Thanks for the update, rbf. 1.5 hours is a long time, so I'm surprised about that. However, that Tim hadn't read many (if any) comics isn't new news to me.--MiamiVolts (talk) 19:07, 5 September 2008 (EDT) |

*Post your questions for the Heroes creator here. |
* Can you comment on whether characters like Eden, Isaac, Charlie, Alejandro, and Candice are going to be brought back to the show or are they permanently gone? |
*When the show was last on in late 2007, it was still early 2007 in the show's universe. If Season 3 picks up right where Season 2 left off to resolve its cliff-hangers, it will STILL be early 2007 on the show while we're watching in late 2008! Are the writers mindful of the fact that the characters' present now lags 18 months behind the viewers' present? Might it be problematic? Will anything be done in the writing to narrow that gap over the course of the season? |
*We heard that in season two there was going to be a flashback episode of the Company called "1977" but due to the strike it was dropped. Will you guys ever revisit the idea of a 77' flashback episode? |
* During Season Two, we were introduced to the twelve founders of the Company. However, the stories tantalizingly teased us with just giving a few hints about some of these intriguing characters. What else can you tell us about them? Will we learn more about this generation of revolutionaries? |
*What made you decide to write Monica out of volume 3, and is there any chance that she'll be back next season? |
*Are we ever going to find out if Molly's father had an ability? |
*It appeared during the second season that all of the main cast that was left standing in "How To Stop An Exploding Man?" didn't meet each other. For example: Mohinder didn't know who Claire was. |
*Why is it that most of the characters only have one parent or none? |
*Could you expand a little more on the Fourth Volume: Fugitives? i.e. What's it about? |
*What say have you had in the creation of the graphic novels, if any? |
*Could you give an explanation as to why Noah Gray-Cabey and Kristen Bell were demoted to recurring? |
*Peter can phase through walls, as he did to get himself and Adam out of their cells. Why'd he waste time trying to pry the vault door off with telekinesis? Can he not phase through certain metals? |
*In this question writer's opinion, my favorite episode is Company Man because it only focused on one set of characters. Of course, Bryan Fuller, the man who wrote that, is no longer with the show, but still, should we be expecting another episode like that? |

Also, there's some debate on whether his name is actually "Claude Rains" or if he was just being sarcastic. Could you set the record straight on that? |

* How does the show maintain a sense of originality when there are other similar "super hero" stories out there such as the X-Men and even new shows such as "Fringe"? |
*In the graphic novel "The ten brides of takezo kenesi" Adam says one of his names was Richard Sanders. We'd heard that he and Niki were going to be related, but then recently we were told they aren't. Did that story get cut after you reworked the villains volume? |
*If Adam isn't related to Niki then will he be related to someone else? |
*There are rumors on line that at first West was meant to be evil and Bob's son and Elle was Meredithe's sister or daughter. Are any of these rumors true? And if so at what stages in development were such changes made. |
*With out giving much away (and I know that's hard) can you discuss the development of the Angela Petrelli character and how she went from bit player to series regular? She is utterly fascinating and is there a chance we will see her and the founders when they were young - good doers? |
* Will we ever find out who Angela was talking to on the phone? And why she stole the socks or what really went down with her "arrangements" with Claire? And did Kaito know the truth when he handed Clarie over to HRG? |
* Has Hurricane Gustav, which caused an evacuation in New Orleans when it struck there recently, altered any of the plans for Heroes scenes depicting that city? |
* This Thursday, Santiago Cabrera, who plays Isaac, told DigitalSpy he would be open to returning to Heroes. Is it in the cards for him to return for a flashback sequence after he finishes filming Season One of Merlin? |
* Will we be getting any more information about how Matt, Molly, and Mohinder all came to be living together? Just how important is that storyline anyway in the overall plot? |
Why can we not have a sweeping few paragraphs for the whole of volume 3 & 4 & 5 like we do for Season/Volume 1 & 2 rather than an episode by episode breakdown (which could be in its own article like "Claire Bennet: Season One History" and "Claire Bennet: Season Two History".)? |

*Post your questions for the actor who plays Sylar here. |
*Last season, we didn't see much of the villainous side of Sylar because he was stripped of his powers. Can we expect more villainy from him this season? |
*According to Kristin Dos Santos, in the future, your character will have a son named Noah. Do you think you can expand on this without being too spoilery? |
* Will we ever meet Sylar's father? |
* Favourite power that Sylar currently has (not including all the ones he'll get in season three)? |
* Favourite kill? |
* Do you know any other actors that are leftys? |
* Does Sylar possibly have any more noble motives that we don't know about--is there a chance he might turn to the light side? |
*Do you enjoy the worldwide female attention the role gives you? |
* We all know that you got the power of telekinesis back, but will all the rest of your powers be back as well? |
* Does Season 3 explain why Sylar was saved from Kirby Plaza but injected with a virus that would kill him anyway? |
* How was your first experience starring in a feature film (Stark Trek 11)? How did the process compare to filming a season of Heroes? |
* Are you ever mildly to moderately disturbed by the attention fans give you (i.e., Sylinder)? |
* Besides Sylar, who is your favorite Character on the show. Your favorite actor to work with? |
* Back in your nonprofessional days, what was the most exciting role you ever got to play? |
* Are there any characters you wish Sylar hadn't killed? |
* Describe the craziest day you've ever had on the Heroes set. |
* When you read the season 3 scripts, about how many "woah" and "wtf?" moments did you have? |
* We all knew that you'd be popular enough to rise from the dead and come back for another season. What about you? Did you think your time with Heroes was over? |
* You decided to act slightly more like your latest victim every time you killed someone. Why did you make this choice? Does this have anything to do with how your character obtains his power? Can you see this as being a drawback? |
* According to spoilers you have a son. Does that mean we'll be getting a 'not under false pretenses romance plot line' with Sylar this season? |

== Google Chrome == |

And finally my second idea. |
Anyone try out Google's new Chrome browser, yet? It looks pretty cool. You can read about it here. I haven't tried it yet; was wondering what other people thought.--MiamiVolts (talk) 02:50, 3 September 2008 (EDT) |
* It's pretty fast, but it doesn't have any plugins that can block ads. So I'll be using Firefox until Google can fix that problem. Chrisyu357 06:52, 3 September 2008 (EDT) |
** According to Chrome's help, it automatically stops pop-ups from creating their own window. However, there may be an ad blocker as a Gears extension (I'm not sure cause I can't find the list of Gears extensions; probably cause I haven't installed Gears). I can't use Chrome/Gears as it doesn't run on Windows2000.--MiamiVolts (talk) 09:22, 3 September 2008 (EDT) |
* I have no interest in it. It's unlikely to gain much traction and is likely just to end up being a fad. Google doesn't have a lot of focus and they put out a lot of projects that ultimately just end up failing, I think this will be another example. Despite the candy they put in there I don't think they have the focus to develop a full-featured, secure, reliable web browser when Firefox is already out there and meets all of these demands already. Google wants to try to leverage their services to provide you the experience they want you to have and I don't think it's going to succeed. Sure some people may use it and some people may think it's neat, but I think the novelty will wear off quickly and people will just return to their stable and reliable prior browser. ...and what are the odds Google's browser is going to let you block Google ads, eh? It would be stupid for them to block their own ads, but it would also be stupid of them to not let people block ads. The only reason Chrome even got any attention was because it was Google putting it out there. It's not really impressive in its own right and as I said I think the novelty (as well as the project) will fade quickly. (Admin 09:52, 3 September 2008 (EDT)) |
** It can probably block pop-ups but it cannot hide the ads that are on the page itself (of which most are ads by Google). I've got a plugin in Firefox to do this, so yes, I like Firefox better. Chrisyu357 10:17, 3 September 2008 (EDT) |

**** Since it's open source and has extension capability like Firefox, such features will probably be added eventually. Their idea was to make it simple and secure. The problem for me, though, is that my Win2K machine can't run it and it doesn't look like they've any plans to add a Win2K version.--MiamiVolts (talk) 17:41, 3 September 2008 (EDT) |

Maybe we could have some articles on "Character X & Character Y History" Documenting the relationship between two different characters in the show history, so when two characters who do not normally meet (like Ando and Noah) there could be one article to tell us the relation and previous meeting of these characters. |
== Soccer Aid == |
This would need a LOT of new articles (~30 characters in Heros, meaning we would have 900 new articles) But when we are watching season 5 (hoping there will be a season 5) we can instantly track previous characters interactions even if they barely met before. |
Anyone heard about the UNICEF project Soccer Aid? |||
** I'm also not a fan of adding 900 new articles that need to be maintained when we have a hard enough time maintaining the articles we already have in existence. So many of those silly relationship articles--which could serve the purposes stated above, despite being fan creation articles--are stubs, and are looong stubs, at that. Even the connections page could be beefed up, but that page really is rarely touched, so I'm afraid to see what would happen when we add 900 more pages like it. Ultimately, this would be a huge project, and one I'm not very excited about. If somebody would like to create it in their user space and then move it into the main namespace when it's all finished, that is something we can certainly discuss. However, I have a feeling that the massive size of this undertaking will prove overwhelming and not worth the effort. -- 16:37, 11 April 2010 (EDT) |
***That's the thing though, if it were to be done, it be a waste of memory. The relationships already exist and use only canon information. If we created these articles, the only reason they'd be canon and not fan creations is the name. As soon as we slap a fan made name on anything it becomes a fan creation. --mc_hammark 16:45, 11 April 2010 (EDT) |

*This is my first time posting something here so please bear with me: I have a minor alteration request that I would like to run by the community and that is changing the character box on the right side where it says known ability to just ability because I find it a bit confusing for people we know have an ability, we just don't know what it is so none is posted, to me implying they don't have one. For the change if the character isn't an evolved human we put none and if he/she does but we don't know we put unknown Or, for example, Kaito's character bio we could put unk, see notes That's my two cents. -- Inblackestnight 23:57, 31 May 2010 (EDT) |

== NBC 'Fan It' Program Begins May 17, New Ad Campaign == |
NBC will be starting a new affinity program later today, May 17, called "Fan It". I'm hoping that there might be something related to Heroes in the program, though I wouldn't place good odds on it. You can read about it on the NBCUMV website, at MediaWeek, or ThingFo. According to the press release, it will be "allowing visitors to earn points by watching videos, chatting about shows, and sharing content with friends. The program requires fans to sign up to participate at http://www.NBC.com/fanit, though they can do so using their existing Facebook, Twitter, MySpace or MyNBC accounts. |
As people accumulate points, they will be able to redeem them for various prizes, such as access to a yet-to-premiere series, NBC merchandise and entries to sweepstakes. To execute the Fan It program, NBC has partnered with the social media tracking company ThingFo Inc." |
Also, "the network will kick off an ad blitz that includes a whopping 19 Microsoft properties and partners, ranging from MSN to Bing to Glo to various Xbox games. As part of the elaborate sponsorship package—which will run through Sept. 20—NBC and Microsoft have collaborated on “Preview to Fall TV” microsite within MSN TV. In addition, NBC will promote its new lineup via Wonderwall, Windows Messenger, and various mobile and social media platforms."--MiamiVolts (talk) 00:05, 17 May 2010 (EDT) |

Now that Heroes has ended, I decided to do as if it was being published again or to recreate all contents of Heroes especially the Heroes 360 and Heroes Evolutions (including MySpace pages, blogs, graphic novels, iStories, webisodes etc.) in the exact same order it was done four years ago back in 2006. I've opened a Google group page called "Reexperience Heroes" where all the announcements about new episode airing, new graphic novel released etc. will be done. And the dates and hours it happened four years from now, will be exactly the same. So, today is July 21 2010, in the Reexperience Heroes we're in July 21 2006. Therefore we already have the MySpace pages of Claire and Zach. == Past tense == |
Now that Heroes has ended, should we put articles into past tense? Episodes articles should stay present tense for the plots, as these should be read as though the reader is describing the show as it happens. For character articles, I think it would be best if they were all in past tense, but for crew and actor articles, they should all be in past tense as is is unlikely than many of us will be checking up one every one of there careers. But before I do anything I want to see what others say. --mc_hammark 18:54, 6 August 2010 (EDT) |

== Something every single one of you may be interested in (though unrelated to Heroes) == |
Hey guys, it's been a while. Figured I'd pop in and give you all a heads up about a show I just discovered that's caught my interest. |
It's a documentary show on the History Channel called Stan Lee's Superhumans. Basically the show is run by Stan Lee, who sends Daniel Browning Smith, a man who is considered to be the most flexible man in the world. He searches out humans across the world who are rumored to have "Super Powers", he witnesses them do their thing, and then he tries to find an explanation for the phenomenon. The first episode, for example, had a man who is able to absorb or conduct electrical current without sustaining any harm; a man who's brain works faster than a calculator; a 5'6" man able to snap steel, bend metal, and hold a motorcycle back with his hands, and a blind man who can navigate via echolocation. Another episode featured a man who could punch with more lethal force than a 30+MPH car crash. It's wild stuff, and though Heroes was a drama show, I'm sure enough of us are fans of Super Humans in general, so I'm positive most of you would enjoy it. Anyway, hope all is well here. :)--Riddler 01:52, 14 August 2010 (EDT) |

Does anyone still edit around here (except for good old Ryan)? I've just spent half an hour browsing through the articles and discussions on this site out of boredom, and I've been feeling small blasts of nostalgia and a lingering sadness that Heroes has forever ended and, really, so has our little community of Heroes Wiki editors. The Event Wiki just doesn't seem to have picked up the same momentum that we had around here. Anyway, this is also a sort of shout-out to all those Heroes Wiki editors I've met and worked with throughout the years, since I never really said a proper thank-you. * *sniff* Hey, Radicell. Good to see you around. Yeah, I'm not sure why The Event Wiki hasn't taken off, and more specifically I'm not sure why Heroes Wiki fostered such a neat community. I've been tangentially part of a few other wiki communities -- for shows I've enjoyed more -- and I never felt the same kind of camaraderie as I felt on HW. DH: We do the same. I would be very surprised if anyone working on a long running thing like this that is popular these days isn't. The wiki is pretty good. Sandubadear asked on Talk:Hachiro's ability about having a gif of Hachiro's ability being used to materialize Katana Girl (transform her into a physical person), and after I added some screenshots to the ability page Sandubadear told me on my talk page that the desire was really for a moving gif. As I am not comfortable making a moving gif for this ability, I asked Admin about making it, whether it was okay to do so here/elsewhere and if the wiki should have a policy on animated gifs in general for our documentation, etc., and noting that I saw some abilities animated like Tommy's in the new Tumblr blogs shown on the revised 9thwonders.com site. Admin pointed me to this community portal for my questions. |

Visions of Earth needs help!
Thank you! :) --Leckie -- Talk 19:04, 26 March 2010 (EDT)
Few things that can be improved
Ok, first off, Great wiki, but i would improve a few things.
On the Character pages, we have (example)
Claire Bennett: Claire is daughter of Nathan, but adopted daughter of Noah. She can regenerate and blah blah blah
About Claire
She lived in Texas as a cheerleader...
Show History
In Season 1 Claire discovered her ability, ran away from sylar and gets held hostage by Ted, blah blah
In Season 2 Claire moves to Costa Verde and falls for West, blah
Then it goes
In Season 3 episode 1, claire does this
In Season 3 episode 2, we see claire for a slit second drinking tea
In Season 3 episode 3, claire does this and this ....
And finally my second idea.
Maybe we could have some articles on "Character X & Character Y History" Documenting the relationship between two different characters in the show history, so when two characters who do not normally meet (like Ando and Noah) there could be one article to tell us the relation and previous meeting of these characters.
This would need a LOT of new articles (~30 characters in Heros, meaning we would have 900 new articles) But when we are watching season 5 (hoping there will be a season 5) we can instantly track previous characters interactions even if they barely met before. Mr Hiro 21:01, 10 April 2010 (EDT)
EDIT: Damn it, no sooner have i finished complaining about Heroes wiki have i noticed Heroes wiki has already changed, looks like my first idea is already being implemented before i can even complain about it. Never mind, however i would still like to push my second idea. Mr Hiro 21:08, 10 April 2010 (EDT)
- So long as we don't append silly "Sythan" style names to the pages (but rather something like Connection:Nathan Petrelli and Sylar), I think this could be a really good idea. Lots of Season One's plot points revolved around stuff like this. --Ricard Desi 21:15, 10 April 2010 (EDT)
- How would that be different from the content in Portal:Relationships?--MiamiVolts (talk) 23:06, 10 April 2010 (EDT)
- It wouldn't be a fan creation, first of all. --Boom D 83 01:19, 11 April 2010 (EDT)
- The only thing that's really stopping the relationships being a canon analysis is the names that we've given them. If they were renamed to Relationship:Hiro and Charlie for example, all the information and interactions come from canon sources and is canon. --mc_hammark 08:29, 11 April 2010 (EDT)
- So we're basically looking at a massive move from all the corny fan creation names to "Connection/Relationship:X and Y", right?--BOYCOOL -- THE END IS NIGH. 09:32, 11 April 2010 (EDT)
- I simply don't think such articles are necessary. --Radicell 09:48, 11 April 2010 (EDT)

- I agree that we don't need to duplicate/change the articles. I think the Relationship articles are okay as they are. I've grown to like having them as fan creations.--MiamiVolts (talk) 11:28, 11 April 2010 (EDT)
- I'm also not a fan of adding 900 new articles that need to be maintained when we have a hard enough time maintaining the articles we already have in existence. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 16:37, 11 April 2010 (EDT)
- That's the thing though, if it were to be done, it be a waste of memory. The relationships already exist and use only canon information. If we created these articles, the only reason they'd be canon and not fan creations is the name. As soon as we slap a fan made name on anything it becomes a fan creation. --mc_hammark 16:45, 11 April 2010 (EDT)

- This is my first time posting something here so please bear with me: I have a minor alteration request that I would like to run by the community and that is changing the character box on the right side where it says known ability to just ability because I find it a bit confusing for people we know have an ability, we just don't know what it is so none is posted, to me implying they don't have one. For the change if the character isn't an evolved human we put none and if he/she does but we don't know we put unknown Or, for example, Kaito's character bio we could put unk, see notes That's my two cents. -- Inblackestnight 23:57, 31 May 2010 (EDT)
The future is now
It's only just now occurred to me. Assuming Heroes gets picked up for a fifth (and almost certainly final) season, and if they're smart enough to fast forward through most of 2010, we'll actually get a look at the dreaded year 2011, when everything seems to go wrong. I wonder how they'll choose to address that? --Ricard Desi 12:25, 20 April 2010 (EDT)
- Well everything has been leading there since the beginning, so it would seem. Especially with Claire's most recent actions... --Skullman1392 23:49, 20 April 2010 (EDT)
Fans of The 4400
Did any of you watch this fantastic show that ran from 2004 to 2007? Since activity on Heroes Wiki has slowed dramatically, I've decided to spread my wings: I've taken over The 4400 Wiki as an administrator and I've been working on the site for a couple of weeks now. We're still in the very early stages, and very few articles have been written, so any help we can get is appreciated. Any fans of this show may contribute, although admittedly Wikia's interface takes a bit of getting used to. And to those who haven't watched this show, I strongly recommend you do. --Radicell 09:11, 6 May 2010 (EDT)

NBC 'Fan It' Program Begins May 17, New Ad Campaign
To execute the Fan It program, NBC has partnered with the social media tracking company ThingFo Inc."
In addition, NBC will promote its new lineup via Wonderwall, Windows Messenger, and various mobile and social media platforms."--MiamiVolts (talk) 00:05, 17 May 2010 (EDT)
Fall Line-up
Well, the Fall Preview is up at nbc.com. It looks like Heroes lost to a show called The Event, that's trying really hard to be some kind of Lost/Flashforward show... gotta be honest, looking at the line-up, I think NBC is going to get flattened this year. --Ricard Desi 09:36, 17 May 2010 (EDT)
- Yeah, nothing looks particularly interesting other than Chuck. What could happen is, if none of these new shows get much viewings, NBC might bring back Heroes, or give them a few years out then bring them back, because although the fan base is small, it is a solid fan base. --mc_hammark 10:47, 17 May 2010 (EDT)
Keeping the Graphic Novels going.
NBC wants to know whether they should keep the graphic novels going. They've got a thread going on 9th Wonders, so I suggest we all head over there and let them know that we are still wanting the GNs. Thanks guys.--mc_hammark 06:51, 19 May 2010 (EDT)

Heroes Once Again
Those who are interested can join the google group also add Claire and Zach as a friend and write comments :) -- Jan Rodrigo (talk) (contributions) 07:38, 21 July 2010 (EDT)
Past tense
Now that Heroes has ended, should we put articles into past tense? Episodes articles should stay present tense for the plots, as these should be read as though the reader is describing the show as it happens. For character articles, I think it would be best if they were all in past tense, but for crew and actor articles, they should all be in past tense as is is unlikely than many of us will be checking up one every one of there careers. But before I do anything I want to see what others say. --mc_hammark 18:54, 6 August 2010 (EDT)
- No, I don't think so. The articles are written from the perspective of happening at the moment. Think of it as watching it on the DVD, if needed. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 17:47, 17 August 2010 (EDT)
:)--Riddler 01:52, 14 August 2010 (EDT)
Kaito Nakamura does have an abillity.
I was watching the bonus dvd from season 2 and i noticed something in the deleted scenes.
He hase the abillity to see the variables of any situation and predict the outcome.

Animated Gifs and 9thwonders.com
The wiki has had a category for Animations for a while, but we use them only sparingly in articles (most animations don't work inside a gallery). Hopefully, if this is allowed, someone else can help Sandubadear out.--MiamiVolts (talk) 17:12, 9 November 2015 (EST)
- Used sparingly, it's allowed, especially for something like showing how an ability's special effect is displayed. I can't help with making the animation though. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 19:13, 9 November 2015 (EST)
- I agree, and I also do not make animated gifs. Should any more be created I would just suggest that they try to limit to the fewest number of frames necessary to accurately demonstrate the idea in question. (Admin (talk) 20:46, 9 November 2015 (EST))
- Thanks, hopefully someone else will volunteer to help Sandubadear out. Regarding the blogs, for reference, there is the NBC Heroes Reborn Tumblr blog (nbcheroes.tumblr.com)(add this to links?), and there is the NBC 9thwonders Tumblr blog (nbc9thwonders.tumblr.com), which redirects to 9thwonders.com and appears to be a blog with posts from different blogs. The example I noted above of showing Tommy's ability appears to be an official reblog at 9thwonders.com/post/126125489081 (lower right animation) of another user's blog post: endiness.tumblr.com/post/123935456172.--MiamiVolts (talk) 01:06, 10 November 2015 (EST)
