I'd like to propose a new way of doing consensus checks, especially as they relate to ability names. I think when discussing ability names, people should feel free to express the name they like the best, or the merits and demerits of proposed names. However, when we start doing a check where people place their names under a certain name, we really limit people a lot. Oftentimes, there are a few names that I might like--or better said, there are a few names that I'd be okay with. However, I usually place my name next to the one that I like the best. This, I believe, causes issues when we're looking for consensus. It means that technically, I'm standing in the way of some of those other names that might be okay with me--simply because I didn't put my name next to them. |
|||
Feel free to check out a radical new fan fiction: ''[[User:Radicell/The Game|Heroes: The Game]]''. Each installment to the game is a "mission" for the player to complete. Visit the [[User:Radicell/The Game/missions|mission list]] to read the two missions that have already been written and released. Enjoy. --[[User:Radicell|Radicell]] 04:47, 23 March 2010 (EDT) |

I suggest that when we have a consensus check, rather than people putting their signatures (and comments) next to a proposed name that they ''like'', I suggest we restructure it so people put their signatures and comments next to a proposed name that they ''don't'' like, or that they oppose for some reason. It's my belief that this will help us find consensus much more easily. Really, what we should be looking for is not which name people think is "the best" (I think opinions vary wildly), but which names are suitable, or which aren't suitable. I think this is where we'll have a lot more common ground in the wiki. Thoughts? -- {{User:Ryangibsonstewart/sig}} 01:40, 3 April 2009 (EDT) |
|||
*Personally, I don't agree. Using this system, we may discern what people don't want to use, but not what they do. If there are no comments for one option, does that make it the right name? We would be able to see that many people are against one name, this does not make them approve of the other. How about if people are against most of the names being used? For example, I don't like any of the names suggested for [[Matt's ability]]. Do I comment on the one I like least, all the ones I don't like, or none of them? I'm not a fan of the current system, but I can see flaws in this one too. -- {{User:Tristan0709/Signature}} 02:07, 3 April 2009 (EDT) |
|||
** In answer to your question "If there are no comments for one option, does that make it the right name?": if nobody opposes a name, it doesn't necessarily mean that it's the "right" name, but it's certainly a name that nobody opposes. On the other hand, under our current system, even if there's a name that's very good an most people agree with, unless every single person agrees that it's the best name, it won't be chosen as the name. But if we look for opposition instead, we're finding another aspect of consensus--that people don't oppose a name, rather than futilely trying to get everybody on board with one name. -- {{User:Ryangibsonstewart/sig}} 08:18, 3 April 2009 (EDT) |
|||
* In Ryan's proposed reversed check, you would need to comment on all the ones you don't think are valid and explain why. Then, if more than one name is left with no comments, we can perform a standard consensus check for those names only. If people are against most of the names used, that's still fine. The problem we have with the current check system is people just pile up comments for a single name and then leave, thinking it is a kind of voting system, which it is not. That makes it very hard to debate them and impedes the process. I'm not sure whether this will help or not, but I'm for giving it a try.--[[User:MiamiVolts|MiamiVolts]] ([[User_talk:MiamiVolts|talk]]) 02:28, 3 April 2009 (EDT) |

** Exactly, Miami. I really don't know what will come of it, but I think it's something we should at least try the next time a new power comes up, just to see if it works out. In my comments on ability pages, I always try to be very clear with comments like "I think XXX is the best name, but I'm not opposed to XXX or XXX." I think (I hope) that a new system of looking for opposition would help garner more sentiments like that--"I oppose XXX, but I don't oppose XXX or XXX". Additionally, I think it might really help broaden all of our minds to the fact that when deciding on a descriptive power name, there isn't just one acceptable name--I think that's a trap that a lot of people fall into (myself included). We get behind one name we think is perfect, and then oftentimes become blind to any other good suggestions. -- {{User:Ryangibsonstewart/sig}} 08:18, 3 April 2009 (EDT) |

A little different approach to consider. What if we listed the suggested names in a table, and then allowed people to add their thoughts pro and con to that name, using the + and - symbols that we use on the theories pages? Kinda like the following '''hypothetical''' example:<br> |

Hey everyone! So as most of you probaly know, I am writing a fan fiction called [[User:Leckie/Visions of Earth|"''Visions of Earth''"]], currently I am needing some help with the administrative side of it. E.g. Updating character histories, abilities etc. So, I am looking for someone who is interested in helping me. There shouldn't be too much work to do considering only one episode has been released. So if anyone is interested, please respond on [[User talk:Leckie|my talk page]]! Thank you! :) --{{User:Leckie/Signature 10}} 19:04, 26 March 2010 (EDT) |

*The trouble with using the above theory-type approach would be that the opinions are not tied directly to a person. So if you disagree with something, it's not easy to tell who is supporting what. In order for consensus to occur, people have to be capable of shifting positions they are tied to.--[[User:MiamiVolts|MiamiVolts]] ([[User_talk:MiamiVolts|talk]]) 00:36, 4 April 2009 (EDT) |

** Agree, Miami. -- {{User:Ryangibsonstewart/sig}} 10:37, 4 April 2009 (EDT) |
|||
* Ya know... I like Ryan's idea. I think a lot of people get fixated on their own personal preferences without really focusing on the positives and negatives of other peoples' suggestions. I think Ryan's idea shifts the focus onto determining why a particular name is or is not acceptable which could be more productive. While I think we have to watch our for instances where people may not even comment on a particular name (which may make it seem like there's implied concensus for it) I think it could be a better approach than we currently use. ([[User:Admin|Admin]] 01:06, 4 April 2009 (EDT)) |
|||
** It's definitely not a perfect solution...but I think it's worth a shot on the next ability that needs a descriptive name. -- {{User:Ryangibsonstewart/sig}} 10:37, 4 April 2009 (EDT) |
|||
***But it's so negative. Ha, just kidding. I think it's a different approach, and could help (sort of a process of elimination). I still think, however, there should be a place to weigh the merits of names as well. Is there a way to combine your suggestion with the current process? If we could brainstorm a solution that combines proper dissent with affirming points, this would provide the best means of healthy debate within the consensus. I like big words.--{{User:Baldbobbo/sig}} 12:43, 4 April 2009 (EDT) |
|||
**** Absolutely. In an ideal world, a discussion alone would qualify as a consensus check. However, we tend to naturally gravitate towards the "voting" system. That system has its merits, and I don't think we should totally shun it. I just think we need to restructure it so we can shift our views and so users can think more broadly about names of powers. Yes, I definitely think we can--and ''should''--incorporate discussion with the consensus check. I'm not sure exactly the best way to do that, though, other than maybe just having the discussion in a section before the check...or, as we've been doing more recently, encouraging users to add a comment when they place their signature under a suggested power name. -- {{User:Ryangibsonstewart/sig}} 12:52, 4 April 2009 (EDT) |

* No, not good, SVD. We shouldn't be "voting" on names as that is not the desire of consensus (if we want to switch to voting, that is a different discussion). If the discussion only comes up with descriptive names, then we could do a "demerit check" where people add comments to which of those names are not appropriate as Ryan suggested. If more than one is left uncommented after some time (a few days/week), then we would have a normal consensus check to decide between those with no comments (or those with few comments assuming all of them get comments).--[[User:MiamiVolts|MiamiVolts]] ([[User_talk:MiamiVolts|talk]]) 14:24, 4 April 2009 (EDT) |
|||
**The way I see it, the biggest problem with the consensus is that one dissenting vote negates the change. Voting doesn't really work, because it relies on the principle that unanimous votes = consensus. Consensus should be a general understanding by the active contributors on what is fact, and how it applies to that particular article. Voting doesn't accurately portray concepts, because many people favor multiple aspects of "nominations" in voting. The whole consensus check concept is flawed to me, because it doesn't really work. The problem is people don't read the discussion pages, and try to rename something immediately without explaining themselves.--{{User:Baldbobbo/sig}} 16:57, 4 April 2009 (EDT) |
|||
*** I agree with you, Bob, the system is flawed. Voting doesn't work, and the consensus check as we've been doing it doesn't always work either. I don't think the system described above is perfect either, but I think it might *hopefully* help with the dissenting vote aspect. I've noticed that on "smaller" issues, I seem to find consensus a lot easier if I ask "Any objections?" rather than "What does everybody else think?" That's kind of what I'm hoping happens with consensus checks. I'm not sure it'll work perfectly (IS there a "perfect" system?), but I think it'll be better. I dunno...I think it's worth a shot the next time the issue comes up when we have to decide on a descriptive ability name... -- {{User:Ryangibsonstewart/sig}} 17:14, 4 April 2009 (EDT) |

***I agree that the current system has too many flaws in it. Back when Electric Manipulation was called Lightning we had a 17 people who argued for it being EM and only 3 for keeping it at lightning, and it wasn't moved. I realize that consensus and voting are different, but there really does need to be a drawn line somewhere. If a power isn't explicitly named there will always be at least one person who come up with an unpopular name that nobody else agrees with, but since the proposed name no longer has 100% support it doesn't go anywhere. I think whatever new system we use, we need to implement common sense into it. We can't please everybody, but we should try to please as many people as we can.--[[User:Piemanmoo|Piemanmoo]] 16:48, 6 April 2009 (EDT) |
|||
****Great reply Pie...most people would probably agree with you. Common sense can rarely find a 100% concensus. <small>--[[User:HiroDynoSlayer|HiroDynoSlayer]] ([[User talk:HiroDynoSlayer|talk]]) 04/6/2009 17:35 (EST)</small> |
|||
*****Consensus has never been about pleasing everyone 100%. It's about coming to a conclusion based on 100% of any valid objections. I don't think a person stating they don't like a name based on how it sounds is a valid objection/reason, nor has that been our problem. PS: Moving to a majority decision instead of a consensus may not be a bad idea, but it's a separate discussion. Please make a separate thread for it and move your comments there. Thanks.--[[User:MiamiVolts|MiamiVolts]] ([[User_talk:MiamiVolts|talk]]) 17:59, 6 April 2009 (EDT) |

** I'm not sure if this was already discussed, but what about a hybrid consensus check? A merger of the one in testing and the usual one, so people can list both the ones they like and the ones they don't like, so we can see a "score" so to speak between names, striking out names cause one person didn't like it shifts the attention to newer names, I know it's good to direct discussion to newer names, but it kills any chance of a more thorough discussion on a name. What I'm putting forward is something in the lines of the windows7taskforce site system of promoting and demoting ideas for the OS. [[User:Intuitive Empath|Intuitive Empath]] - [[User talk:Intuitive Empath|Talk]] - [[Special:Contributions/Intuitive Empath|Contributions]] 20:00, 25 April 2009 (EDT) |

*** Well, the whole point of the new consensus check was to limit discussion to just the reasons a name shouldn't be used. Adding what you suggest sort of defeats the purpose of that.--[[User:MiamiVolts|MiamiVolts]] ([[User_talk:MiamiVolts|talk]]) 20:49, 25 April 2009 (EDT) |
|||
*** What I'd ultimately like to see is the discussion about names (which is the heart of the consensus check) in a separate section, maybe below the consensus check (which is what's evolving anyway). I'll also take this opportunity to reiterate that people should not be opposing names they merely don't like, but names that are speculative and outright wrong. Opposition should also not be based on the merits of other names, but on the name itself. For example, just because one name is the clear favorite does not make all the other names wrong, and those other names should not be opposed. Additionally, a name based on the possessor (like "Tom's ability" or "Matt's ability") is never wrong, and shouldn't even be thrown into the mix. The consensus is generally to discuss a descriptive name not given in a canon (or near-canon) source, not to discuss a name based on the possessor of the ability. And certainly, the possessor's name should never be opposed because it, by definition, cannot be wrong. It might not be the best name, but it's not wrong. -- {{User:Ryangibsonstewart/sig}} 21:07, 25 April 2009 (EDT) |

==Appearances Trivia== |

Just wanted to bring something up. Lately, I've been adding to the trivia section of episodes something along the lines of ''"[[Nathan Petrelli]] and [[Matt Parkman]] do not appear in this episode"'' (in this case, for [[2x10]]). They have been reverted, namely by [[User:Intuitive Empath|Intuitive Empath]], with his edit summaries claiming they are 'not really trivia'. I think it is an interesting piece of information that a character who appears in promotional material, and is billed as 'starring' in the opening credits, a main character, does not appear in an episode. However, all of these have been remove.d I'd like to bring this into a group, so it's not just me vs. IE. I personally believe this trivia should stay, but I'd like to know that people agree with me before I bring them back. -- {{User:Tristan0709/Signature}} 02:51, 13 April 2009 (EDT) |

****I think I see where Tristan are going with this. When an actor is '''credited''' in a particular episode, but his/her character '''does not appear''' in said episode, it is noteworthy. That info should be placed in notes and phrased like this example: "[[Adrian Pasdar]] was credited in this episode, but his character of [[Nathan Petrelli]] did not appear." --{{User:SacValleyDweller/sig}} 02:58, 20 April 2009 (EDT) |
|||
*****As much as I wouldn't like to contradict someone agreeing with me, people are only credited when they do appear. The only exceptions are Simone in.....[[1x14]], I think. And Mohinder whenever he narrates but doesn't appear. However, I think it's noteworthy that they are main cast but miss episodes. -- {{User:Tristan0709/Signature}} 03:32, 20 April 2009 (EDT) |

******Exactly those exceptions are the ones I think are noteworthy. Something like "[[Nathan Petrelli]] does not appear in this episode" is a statement much less noteworthy, in my opinion, than something like "[[Jimmy Jean-Louis]] was credited for this episode, but did not appear" (which is true for one of the S3 episodes I think...''[[The Second Coming]]'' perhaps). --[[User:Radicell|Radicell]] 03:55, 20 April 2009 (EDT) |

==Seasons vs. Volumes== |
|||
I think I brought this up on Ryan's talk page a while ago, and now that we are coming up to a hiatus, I thought I'd bring it up again. On all pages here at the wiki, we sort things by volumes. character archives, characternav, actornav, the season pages, etc. However, the show is sorted by ''volumes'' instead. I know it would take a long time to change, but what do you guys think about changing our format to match ''[[Heroes]]''? The finale is coming up, so archiving [[Volume Three]] and [[Volume Four]] information would be easy, and a simple move for the [[Volume One]] and [[Volume Two]] archives. Templates would need a bit of fiddling with, but after that there wouldn't be that much else to do. What do you guys think? -- {{User:Tristan0709/Signature}} 20:32, 19 April 2009 (EDT) |
|||
* The way I see it, the show is divided into seasons, and the seasons are divided into volumes, and those volumes are divided into episodes. That's how we have it on the wiki, so I think it's okay to leave it as-is.--[[User:MiamiVolts|MiamiVolts]] ([[User_talk:MiamiVolts|talk]]) 20:45, 19 April 2009 (EDT) |
|||
** It's not a bad idea, but I think the organization of the wiki is fine right now, personally. I will point out that it's not as easy as it might sound. For instance, all the logic would need to be updated on templates like [[template:actornav]] and [[template:characternav]] and [[template:minorrow]] and [[template:gueststarscount]] and [[template:gueststarsnavcell]] and [[template:PortalCastNav]] and a bunch of other ones that I'm forgetting or overlooking. -- {{User:Ryangibsonstewart/sig}} 20:55, 19 April 2009 (EDT) |

I've been googling this, but can't seem to find an answer to it anywhere. Someone else must've thought that there is a strange similarity between the Petrelli family and the Kennedys, almost like one inspired the others. |

Arthur Petrelli = Joe Kennedy...slightly evil, controlling father trying to set up his sons to run the country/world |

Nathan Petrelli = JFK, attractive older brother who acts as a leader, his younger brother remains his moral compass |
|||
Peter Petrelli = RFK, younger brother, portrays excellent leadership abilities |

I like the idea of a heroes encyclopedia, but i dont like that if u just want a list of all the episodes, its not there. you get the list of all the episodes from three or four different portals. why cant there be one page that lists each episode title and what season they are in?--[[User:Iheartheroes|Iheartheroes]] ([[User talk:Iheartheroes|talk]]) 15:26, 24 April 2009 (EDT) |

* I think [[:Category:Episodes]] is what you want. If you want to, you can add a formatted listing to that existing page, but the list is already there with episodes in order by season and airdate. PS: Please remember to add your signature when you add comments to talk pages either by typing <nowiki>--~~~~</nowiki> after your comment or by clicking the java signature button after entering your comment to do that for you.--[[User:MiamiVolts|MiamiVolts]] ([[User_talk:MiamiVolts|talk]]) 16:09, 24 April 2009 (EDT) |

Maybe we could have some articles on "Character X & Character Y History" Documenting the relationship between two different characters in the show history, so when two characters who do not normally meet (like Ando and Noah) there could be one article to tell us the relation and previous meeting of these characters. |
|||
==[[Mohinder's ability]], [[David's ability]], and Elephant Man's Ability== |
|||
Ever since the formula there have been a range of abilities which are basically a mutation. I am raising the issue here because their talk pages don't get enough attention. What I am proposing is that these abilities go into a new, adjoined ability called something along the lines of '''Uncatalyzed Abilities''' or '''Mutated Abilities'''. My reasons for this are: |
|||
# [[Mohinder]] used the uncatalyzed formula, he became a half human - half bug. |
|||
# [[David Sullivan]] used the uncatalyzed formula, he became half human - half dog/wolf/bear things. |
|||
# [[Elephant man]] was treated with the uncatalyzed formula, he became half human - half elephant(?), mutated thing. |
|||
On top of this, in a recent interview, The Recruit, writers [[Jim Martin]] and [[Timm Keppler]] stated, "David was injected with an uncatalyzed strain ... had terrible mutated effects ... {talking about Davids ability} more of a severe rabies than anything else ...the bad serum turned people into "the elephant man" ... "Suresh" ... and some of it did this". With this information, as well as that of the basic reasoning that they are all the same I think that a new ability, called '''Uncatalyzed Abilities''' should be created and '''Mohinder's ability''' and '''David's ability''' should be deleted. (If the general consensus is against this, there is definitely grounds for the Elephant man to have an ability) --{{User:Irony/Signature}} 13:50, 27 April 2009 (EDT) |
|||
* I agree all three should be combined as they are all obviously side effects of the uncatalyzed formula. It would then get rid of three so and so's ability (which I like lol) since there will no likely be any no information or a consensus. So I believe this to be the best option. --{{User:Laughingdevilboy/signature}} 14:10, 27 April 2009 (EDT) |
|||
** I agree with Irony that they should all be moved to "Uncatalysed Abilities" due to the 3 taking a formula that hasnt been catalysed and also becuase we cant deny that they certainly had "Abilities". So I also beilive this is the best option [[User:Gabriel Bishop|Gabriel Bishop]] 14:24, 27 April 2009 (EDT) |

****Isn't calling it an "uncatalyzed ability" still calling it an ability? What Mohinder, Peter and Nathan now have are due to a perfected version of the mutation formula. David, Ryan, Mohinder, and the Elephant man were all mutated with imperfect versions of the formula. The blue girl and the steel-bending man in Iran were also mutated with oil-based formulas. I think if we go this route of splitting up the abilities into different categories, we should realize that some of people's abilities were caused by formulas, some where inherited, and some were evolved. Getting into which are which isn't necessarily easy to do without speculation some times.--[[User:MiamiVolts|MiamiVolts]] ([[User_talk:MiamiVolts|talk]]) 16:09, 27 April 2009 (EDT) |

***** What we are saying is exactly that, it is still an ability but they are more mutations than abilties, so instead of having their own one, they are all grouped together --{{User:Irony/Signature}} 16:12, 27 April 2009 (EDT) |

******* This isnt speculation, they have all been injected with an uncataized version of the formula and all recieved add verse abilities. The perfected formula abilities work fine and we can to some degree name them. These abilities are not likely to be seen again and no more people are likly to be added to the list. --{{User:Laughingdevilboy/signature}} 16:19, 27 April 2009 (EDT) |
|||
****** I agree, but does David and Mohinders ability seem the same? The uncatalyzed formula just seems to give enhanced strength with side effects. I realise how speculative this is, but even the elephant man could of had it just his mutation was bigger muscles or something tht turned him into what he is. Its a long shot. And if the guy could bend steel could that not be related to muscles or strength as well? --[[User:345tom|345tom]] 16:21, 27 April 2009 (EDT) |
|||
***** Not really, for example if we were to do what you say every inherited ability would be in a category, every formulated ability and every uncatalyzed ability. What we are saying is to remove one of the groups (which is the only group which doesn't give abilities but gives more of a mutation which, in effect would hinder the gentic advancement of the species). Also, assuming that we are keeping it the way we are, we need to give the elephant man an ability, also (sorry I don't follow the iStoy but...) the blue girl and the steel bending man should --{{User:Irony/Signature}} 16:23, 27 April 2009 (EDT) |

This would need a LOT of new articles (~30 characters in Heros, meaning we would have 900 new articles) But when we are watching season 5 (hoping there will be a season 5) we can instantly track previous characters interactions even if they barely met before. |

** I'm also not a fan of adding 900 new articles that need to be maintained when we have a hard enough time maintaining the articles we already have in existence. So many of those silly relationship articles--which could serve the purposes stated above, despite being fan creation articles--are stubs, and are looong stubs, at that. Even the [[connections]] page could be beefed up, but that page really is rarely touched, so I'm afraid to see what would happen when we add 900 more pages like it. Ultimately, this would be a huge project, and one I'm not very excited about. If somebody would like to create it in their user space and then move it into the main namespace when it's all finished, that is something we can certainly discuss. However, I have a feeling that the massive size of this undertaking will prove overwhelming and not worth the effort. -- {{User:Ryangibsonstewart/sig}} 16:37, 11 April 2010 (EDT) |

***That's the thing though, if it were to be done, it be a waste of memory. The relationships already exist and use only canon information. If we created these articles, the only reason they'd be canon and not fan creations is the name. For the change if the character isn't an evolved human we put ''none'' and if he/she does but we don't know we put ''unknown'' Or, for example, Kaito's character bio we could put ''unk, see notes'' That's my two cents. -- [[User:Inblackestnight|Inblackestnight]] 23:57, 31 May 2010 (EDT) |

I've noticed that on some pages (especially [[Talk:Matt's ability]]) many of the suggestions have the same verb but a different noun. If we split the consensus into a verb section and noun section we can half the number of suggestions and reduce the sizes of the lists. Verbs should be more important than nouns and there is no consensus on a noun, we don't use one. **Sorry if I was confusing, I meant adjective. What I meant was like, e.g. we had ''inversion'' as the noun form of a verb and ''system'', ''state'' and ''situation'' as adjectives. Each one had its own thread but most of the time the only thing opposed with it was the adjective. If the concensus was split we could reduce the number of same-verb or same-adjective suggestions. As for verbs more important than adjectives, most ability names are verb based nouns, like x manipulation, so they should be more important than the adjectives. --<span style="font-size: 10pt; font-weight:bold;"></span>'''[[User:Elemental Manipulator|Elemental Manipulator]]'''</span> [ [[User:Elemental Manipulator|U]] | [[User_talk:Elemental Manipulator|T]] | [[Special:Contributions/Elemental Manipulator|C]] ]'''</small> - <span style="color:green;">When in doubt, ask BTE </span> 02:11, 14 May 2009 (EDT) |

Currently, we have some of the talent who will be dropping in and hanging out with the fans, and we'll be giving out goodies to members of All Access. |
|||
<p /> |
|||
Heroes All Access will also have live coverage of the line party, as well as event blogging. |
|||
<p /> |
|||
Please pass this message on to your respective groups and websites. If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me or either of my Heroes All Access colleagues through the "Contact Us" link on the House Petrelli website. |

== Fall Line-up == |

Some addition information HeroesARG found from the 2009 Comi-con schedule that was posted: |
|||
Well, the Fall Preview is up at nbc.com. It looks like ''Heroes'' lost to a show called ''The Event'', that's trying really hard to be some kind of ''Lost''/''Flashforward'' show... gotta be honest, looking at the line-up, I think NBC is going to get flattened this year. --'''[[User:Ricard Desi|<font color=#609000>Ricard</font>]]''' '''[[User talk:Ricard Desi|<font color=#609000>Desi</font>]]''' 09:36, 17 May 2010 (EDT) |

*Yeah, nothing looks particularly interesting other than Chuck. What could happen is, if none of these new shows get much viewings, NBC might bring back Heroes, or give them a few years out then bring them back, because although the fan base is small, it is a solid fan base. --[[User:Mc hammark|mc_hammark]] 10:47, 17 May 2010 (EDT) |

<The panel> will be next door at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront, in the Indigo Room, on Saturday from 3:15 to 4:15. |
|||
<p /> |

They'll be exclusively showing the Volume 5: Redemption trailer. |

Following the trailer, creator Tim Kring and cast members Jack Coleman, Masi Oka, Adrian Pasdar and Zachary Quinto, as well as guest stars Robert Knepper, Dawn Olivieri, Ray Park and Madeline Zima, will participate in a Q&A session. |

* From Ollie Grigsby via HeroesARG, I also learned: There is a ''Heroes'' themed [[Nissan]] booth in the convention hall. This is where this year's ''Heroes'' Limited Edition Graphic Novel will be distributed from. This year's GN is ''[[Rebellion, Part 3|Rebellion, Part 3: Family]]'' written by [[Oliver Grigsby]] and drawn by [[Jason Badower]]. There will also be a ''Heroes'' themed Sprint tent outside at Hilton Gaslamp Quarter Hotel (at K & 4th street) with possible giveaways. * More things I learned: The line party has been canceled due to scheduling conflicts. However, on Friday, July 20th, House Petrelli has organized a party at the House of Blues, nearby the Comic Con. See details at the [http://www.housepetrelli.com/default.asp?Display=107 House Petrelli website]. Confirmed attendees include artist [[Jason Badower]], writer [[Oliver Grigsby]], actor [[David H. * A few new updates:<br />1. According to [http://sev.prnewswire.com/auto/20090722/CL4879222072009-1.html PR Newswire], you can enter for a daily drawing at the Nissan ''Heroes'' Booth (#4029) to win a Nissan Cube. Just scan your badge at the booth each day (Thursday-Sunday) for a chance to enter. The Cubes have been personally stylized by artist [[Peter Steigerwald]].<br />2. Nissan Street Teams in ''Heroes''-inspired cubes will also be driving around in downtown San Diego to create buzz and excitement around the Comic-Con activities, so keep a lookout. I guess Peter Steigerwald painted on each of the cars... that's amazing, imho. If anyone can grab some photos, that would be cool for the [[Comic-Con International: San Diego|comic-con article]] (or for Peter's page, if we decide to move them there). I found [[:Image:Heroes Nissan Cube 1.jpg|a photo of one of them]], but there should be at least 3 more. :)<br />3. According to [http://www.tvovermind.com/tv-news/heroes/more-last-minute-heroes-news-for-comic-con/6780 TV Overmind], Sprint is sponsoring a carnival tent outside the Gaslamp Hilton for ''Heroes''-related activities. According to the article, "there will be games, food, a bungee trampoline and many more goodies! Visitors will also see exclusive footage and photos from the new season unveiled there."--[[User:MiamiVolts|MiamiVolts]] ([[User_talk:MiamiVolts|talk]]) 00:55, 23 July 2009 (EDT) |

Hello, i have a suggestion involving a new section to dead character articles called something like "Death circumstances". I already suggested it in Ryangibsonstewart's talk page, [http://heroeswiki.com/User_talk:Ryangibsonstewart#Adding_.22Death_circumstances.22_or_something_like_that_to_all_dead_character_articles here], I will copy paste my suggestion here also. It doesn't involve the infobox but a subsection. |
|||
== Season 4 DVD == |
|||
"I think the death of characters is very important, i suggest putting the episode/season, location, killer/cause and appearances after death. People killed by Sylar would be linked to the articles Victims of Sylar and so forth... The reason is that a main character's death is somewhat important in the storyline, and people who search the cause of death have to search the whole article and often its not in the last episode the character is seen( example: Linderman). Also, this section appearing in the list at the top will immediately inform the user that the character IS dead. Characters that come back from the dead like Claire are included. Tell me if its a good ideea. - [[User:Discipol|Discipol]]" |
|||
Is there? I'd love to know what was cut from Season 4. {{User:Altes/Signature}} 07:09, 14 June 2010 (EDT) |

Characters who dies involve complex circumstances, some characters died many times and if you look at articles from the mothership wikipedia you will see a section about death/murder, here are some examples [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rasputin Rasputin], [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hitler#Defeat_and_death Hitler], [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theodore_Roosevelt#Later_years_and_death Theodore Roosevelt] and many more if not all. Some very important ones have even their own articles about their death, like [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Death_of_Adolf_Hitler Hitler]. |

It's called the Conspiracy for Good, and you can find out more info. about it including how to sign up at [http://www.nokia.com/press/press-releases/showpressrelease?newsid=1426084 http://www.nokia.com/press/press-releases/showpressrelease?newsid=1426084] and [http://www.conspiracyforgood.com/ http://www.conspiracyforgood.com/]. ** Yep, I like it, I do think this could go in danfer or going overboard, like Sylar has died a few times, I'm not going to count how many times Claire has died, so mabye like "Permanent Death Circumstances" so for Adam Monroe it would be Arthur removing his power, not Hiro blowing him him up in Volume Two --{{User:Irony/Signature}} 12:03, 18 June 2009 (EDT) |
|||
***Permanent Death Circumstances will likely contain more minor characters than major ones. I vote on "Death Circumstances" to be added to all dead character articles, the infobox information that the character is dead can remain the same. Also, lets include characters who died in possible futures like future Daphne. Indeed Claire's will be a big one. We just need an admin of heroeswiki to give us green ^^ - [[User:Discipol|Discipol]] |
|||
****Question: What about faked deathes? (example: Matt and Daphne, also Ando in Vol. 3) would that be included for characters still living? What about ones who are already dead? --[[User:Skullman1392|Skullman1392]] 03:02, 19 June 2009 (EDT) |

Now that Heroes has ended, I decided to do as if it was being published again or to recreate all contents of Heroes especially the Heroes 360 and Heroes Evolutions (including MySpace pages, blogs, graphic novels, iStories, webisodes etc.) in the exact same order it was done four years ago back in 2006. I've opened a Google group page called "[http://groups.google.com/group/reexperienceheroes?hl=en Reexperience Heroes]" where all the announcements about new episode airing, new graphic novel released etc. will be done. And the dates and hours it happened four years from now, will be exactly the same. So, today is July 21 2010, in the Reexperience Heroes we're in July 21 '''2006'''. Therefore we already have the MySpace pages of [http://www.myspace.com/clairebennetrh Claire] and [http://www.myspace.com/zachtothefuturerh Zach]. Those who are interested can join the google group also add Claire and Zach as a friend and write comments :) --{{User:Janrodrigo/sig}} 07:38, 21 July 2010 (EDT) |
|||
* Lets keep the * to one :D Yes, faked deaths seem ok, they aren't more real than future death that never happen. Characters who are already dead? most of them where alive when the show started, and characters who died in the past but are show how they dies, yes. Basically, anyone who died (especially main cast, lets start updating strongly there first) needs something like that since they all died either as a victim(example: Sylar's victims), a hero sacrificing himself(example: Nikky) or a villain defeated(example: Arthur). The section would container data(in no particular order): killer, episode, item/power used, last words, witnesses, natural causes or not, and anything you could think of that is relevant. The guys with the cloning powers, each clone would be mentioned there with the big finish for Julien Dumont :D Still waiting for that admin green light :P - [[User:Discipol|Discipol]] |
|||
== Past tense == |
|||
* I don't understand why you need it. Death circumstances are already described in every dead character's article. See [[Adam Monroe#Dying of the Light|here]], [[Maury Parkman#Eris Quod Sum|here]] or [[Nathan Petrelli#An Invisible Thread|here]]. -- [[User:Altes|Altes]] 03:41, 19 June 2009 (EDT) |
|||
Now that Heroes has ended, should we put articles into past tense? Episodes articles should stay present tense for the plots, as these should be read as though the reader is describing the show as it happens. For character articles, I think it would be best if they were all in past tense, but for crew and actor articles, they should ''all'' be in past tense as is is unlikely than many of us will be checking up one every one of there careers. But before I do anything I want to see what others say. --[[User:Mc hammark|mc_hammark]] 18:54, 6 August 2010 (EDT) |
|||
* As I said in the original posts some characters that die don't stay dead :D like Claire, or appear later on like Usuntu or Linderman THUS the deaths will not appear in the last episode on the page. A wikipedia standard is isolation of a person's death as it is very important. Many characters who died in weird circumstances (like Tracy) came back even tho everyone thought them to be dead or filled pages of speculation talk. Information of a death or dead-then-back-to-life could span in pieces across episodes and such a subsection will concentrate it into a nice piece of clear information. |
|||
* No, I don't think so. The articles are written from the perspective of happening at the moment. Think of it as watching it on the DVD, if needed. :) -- {{User:Ryangibsonstewart/sig}} 17:47, 17 August 2010 (EDT) |

If you think this is unnecessary, then Sylar's victims article is also unnecessary since the characters have a "killed by Sylar" status in their articles and yet it exists :P [[User:Discipol|Discipol]] |

Hey guys, it's been a while. Figured I'd pop in and give you all a heads up about a show I just discovered that's caught my interest. |
|||
* Sylar's case is special, he's a Psycho Killer after all))) besides, there are also [[Arthur's victims]], [[Noah's victims]] and [[Danko's victims]] articles. It's a documentary show on the History Channel called Stan Lee's Superhumans. Basically the show is run by Stan Lee, who sends Daniel Browning Smith, a man who is considered to be the most flexible man in the world. He searches out humans across the world who are rumored to have "Super Powers", he witnesses them do their thing, and then he tries to find an explanation for the phenomenon. The first episode, for example, had a man who is [[electrical absorption|able to absorb or conduct electrical current without sustaining any harm]]; a man who's brain works faster than a calculator; a 5'6" man able to [[Super strength|snap steel, bend metal, and hold a motorcycle back with his hands]], and a blind man who can navigate via echolocation. Another episode featured a man who could punch with more lethal force than a 30+MPH car crash. It's wild stuff, and though Heroes was a drama show, I'm sure enough of us are fans of Super Humans in general, so I'm positive most of you would enjoy it. ==NBC's New McDonald's Partnership== |

This is not necessarily ''Heroes'' news, so I thought it worth mentioning here since it will probably be. :) McDonald's and NBC have [http://www.nbcumv.com/release_detail.nbc/entertainment-20090713000000-mcdonald039sreg.html announced] a co-promotion for a new ''Monopoly'' game (aka ''McMillions'') beginning 10/6/2009. Stars from NBC primetime shows, probably including ''Heroes'' will be throwing dice for 29 consecutive days during nightly ads. The ads, entitled "$1 Million Dollar Dice Roll", will air during the ''Jay Leno Show'', ''Sunday Night Football'', and other NBC primetime programs. The MONOPOLY Game at McDonald's is open to residents of the U.S., Canada, Guam and Saipan. The online Game will only be open to residents of the U.S. and Canada. Hi Guys, |
|||
Does anyone still edit around here (except for good old Ryan)? I've just spent half an hour browsing through the articles and discussions on this site out of boredom, and I've been feeling small blasts of nostalgia and a lingering sadness that ''Heroes'' has forever ended and, really, so has our little community of Heroes Wiki editors. The Event Wiki just doesn't seem to have picked up the same momentum that we had around here. Anyway, this is also a sort of shout-out to all those Heroes Wiki editors I've met and worked with throughout the years, since I never really said a proper thank-you. And hopefully, the next time a highly-anticipated superhero TV series premieres, I'll see you all again. --[[User:Radicell|Radicell]] 03:05, 22 March 2011 (EDT) |

can anyone tell me please which season/episode matt parkman and angela petrelli have a conversation about saving the world. basically matt is saying that he wants to save the world but he cant and angela tells him thats exactly what her generation tried to do in their time but how eventually they realised that it could not be done? any pointers would be helpfull as i dont have enough time to watch all episodes to find this scene and hopefully all you heores fans with agreater knowledge out there could tell me where, i'm using it for a lesson (if i can find it!) and it will give a really powerfull parallel for it? |
|||
* *sniff* Hey, Radicell. Good to see you around. Yeah, I'm not sure why The Event Wiki hasn't taken off, and more specifically I'm not sure why Heroes Wiki fostered such a neat community. I've been tangentially part of a few other wiki communities -- for shows I've enjoyed more -- and I never felt the same kind of camaraderie as I felt on HW. It's pretty cool to be part of something successful and quality like this site, and I miss it too. :) Ah, such is life... -- {{User:Ryangibsonstewart/sig}} 11:07, 22 March 2011 (EDT) |

Since this change affects a quite a few page, I figure I'll present this first. == Inconsitency: [[Telepathic]] specters VS [[Illusions]] and [[Shape shifting|Shapeshifts]]. Help? == |
|||
I never was quite clear why [[Maury]]'s use telepathic specters of [[D.L.]] in ''[[Out of Time]]'' and [[Linderman]] during ''[[Volume Three]]'' are listed as part of the character history of those characters, yet [[Candice]]'s various illusions ([[Niki]] and [[Claire]] in ''[[.07%]]'' for example) and Sylar's [[Shape shifting|Shapeshifts]] ([[Sandra]] in ''[[Turn and Face the Strange]]'' for example) are listed on Candice and sylar's respective history pages. These abilities, used in these ways, achieve the same effect. Why are they chronicled differently here? --{{User:SacValleyDweller/sig}} 03:06, 4 August 2009 (EDT) |
|||
* I'm not sure if this is the entire or main reason... But from what I recall, for Maury's specters, they were originally presented with a POV as though they were returning characters and not specters. Not sure if that helps.--[[User:MiamiVolts|MiamiVolts]] ([[User_talk:MiamiVolts|talk]]) 03:17, 4 August 2009 (EDT) |
|||
** I think it's because while Maury's ability allows him to ''create'' illusions of those people, Candice and Sylar's abilities allow them to actually ''become'' and ''impersonate'' people. --[[User:Radicell|Radicell]] 06:08, 4 August 2009 (EDT) |
|||
**But since we know that the specters are indeed Maury and not DL and Linderman, should they not now go on Maury's page? Subsequent developments not withstanding, this is exactly like [[Rebel]] in ''[[Cold Snap]]''. Before that Ep, Rebel was thought to be a new character. In ''Cold Snap'', [[Micah]] was reveled to be Rebel, and all of Rebel's history up to that point [http://heroeswiki.com/index.php?title=Micah_Sanders&diff=299204&oldid=298641 was put] on Micah's page and Rebel [http://heroeswiki.com/index.php?title=Rebel&oldid=298654 redirected] to him. We should now in kind put Linderman's ''Volume Three'' history on Maury's page and other instances of telepathic specters. --{{User:SacValleyDweller/sig}} 03:19, 6 August 2009 (EDT) |
|||
***It's different. On Maury's page, we do have sections saying that he creates illusions of DL and Linderman. However, on DL and Linderman's page, we must have sections saying that Maury had created illusions of them. This is different from Candice and Sylar's powers, where we'd simply add sections to their pages, and not the pages of the people they impersonate. This is again, because while Candice and Sylar use their powers to ''impersonate'' an individual, Maury simply ''creates illusions of'' the individual while he himself watches from a distance. --[[User:Radicell|Radicell]] 01:05, 15 August 2009 (EDT) |

But thankfully, the fans were so obsessive they had basically put together a wiki, and the writers were pulling information from that.''' |
|||
I have some confusion about the location of Peter and Adam's cells in the Company building. Some places on the wiki say that their cells are on level 2 while others say they are on level 5. I suspect they probably were not on level 5, because it probably would have been a lot noisier when Elle walked through. Is there any information on their canon location or is it just speculation? In any case, there is a discrepancy that needs to be corrected. --[[User:Nogard|Nogard]] 05:32, 5 August 2009 (EDT) |

DH: We do the same. I would be very surprised if anyone working on a long running thing like this that is popular these days isn't. The wiki is pretty good. For some of the older games, where I just want to remember a particular person's name or a particular brand or something, it's probably in our records, but some of the details stuff from the wiki is amazing and we love it. |

--[[User:Radicell|Radicell]] 17:55, 8 January 2012 (EST) |

Most of the [[Special:Uncategorizedimages|uncategorized files]] on the wiki are the result of people not bothering to write anything in the upload form when they upload. This results in other editors having to "clean up" after these uploaders. Now, it should be possible to implement a feature to disallow the uploading of an image unless it has at least one category assigned to it. The way this would work is, when the "Upload" button is clicked, the system checks if the the image has been assigned a category; if yes, it uploads it; if not, it prompts the user to add a category. I had previously suggested this on [[User talk:MiamiVolts|MiamiVolts's talk page]], but I'll say it here to gather opinions. So what does everyone think about this? After all, it would not make things too difficult for the uploader, since all images need categories in the first place. --[[User:Radicell|Radicell]] 00:58, 15 August 2009 (EDT) |

* I think that's a fine idea. Is it possible? Can MediaWiki support that? Would the category have to be explicit, or would it recognize that some categories are added through templates such as [[template:image-screenshot]]? -- {{User:Ryangibsonstewart/sig}} 10:49, 15 August 2009 (EDT) |

** I love this :) -- {{User:Leckie/Signature 10}} 14:49, 26 January 2012 (EST) |

** Apparently, it'll need a "server extension" to be written that'll take a while; that's why I'm trying to see if people would actually support such a change. Regarding the categories assigned through templates: currently, on an existing image page, all the categories are displayed at the bottom regardless of how they've been assigned (explicitly or through templates). So, the ideal situation would probably be for the system to see all the categories (regardless of how they've been assigned). --[[User:Radicell|Radicell]] 11:06, 15 August 2009 (EDT) |

[[User:Sandubadear|Sandubadear]] asked on [[Talk:Hachiro's ability]] about having a gif of Hachiro's ability being used to materialize Katana Girl (transform her into a physical person), and after I added some [[Hachiro's ability#Examples|screenshots]] to the ability page Sandubadear told me on my talk page that the desire was really for a moving gif. As I am not comfortable making a moving gif for this ability, I asked Admin about making it, whether it was okay to do so here/elsewhere and if the wiki should have a policy on animated gifs in general for our documentation, etc., and noting that I saw some abilities animated like Tommy's in the new Tumblr blogs shown on the revised [//9thwonders.com 9thwonders.com] site. Admin pointed me to this community portal for my questions. |

[[Tom Inkel]] tweeted today that he's leaving NBC in three weeks. I assume that means he's gone beginning the week of the premiere. He's the main writer for the [[iStory]], digital writer for ''Heroes'', and helps to create/manage the [[Heroes: Survival]] role-playing game. Next week's iStory chapter will be written by someone else. I think he's done an amazing job, and will be missed. I hope he'll get called back for future projects. Hello Heroes fans! I, [[user:joshuakorolenko|Josh Korolenko]], along with my brother [[user:AgentJordan|AJ]], have started our own fan series that tells the stories of people with extraordinary abilities who also have to deal with what happens on the canon show. The first season/volume, entitled ''Villains'', focused on a group of Company agents dealing with the mass outbreak from Level 5. Volume Two, ''Hunted'', will focus on these same agents as they deal with becoming the targets of the government. We are currently holding a competition to have fans create their own characters/abilities to be placed in [[user:joshuakorolenko/Chronicles/Main Page|Chronicles]]! * NBC moved their web sites over to a new server last night and would like to enlist our help in making sure nothing is broken (specifically with the Heroes content). If you're browsing the Heroes content on [http://www.nbc.com/Heroes/ their site] and you find anything that's not working properly (broken link, forms not working, etc.), please post it here and I will make sure the information gets back to NBC. Thanks! ([[User:Admin|Admin]] 13:42, 27 August 2009 (EDT)) |
|||
** I went through the main pages tonight, and I couldn't find anything I could attribute to the server move. However, going through the pages on the main Heroes site, I found that the main flash drop-down navigation at [http://blog.nbc.com/evolutions/ blog.nbc.com/evolutions], the Season 3 walk-through page, is misaligned, and some links are missing that are present on the other ''Heroes'' pages of NBC's site. I think that the Evolutions blog is likely a separate issue since it's not directly at http://www.nbc.com/Heroes/ and that page hasn't been updated since the end of Season 3, but it probably won't hurt to report it. What the techs probably need to check (and I'm just guessing here), is that the Evolutions e-mail/text database was brought over to the new server, so people can still get their alerts. The [[Heroes: Survival]] game's database was offline most of yesterday morning and afternoon due to the server move; but after the problem was reported, it was brought back up and running again.--[[User:MiamiVolts|MiamiVolts]] ([[User_talk:MiamiVolts|talk]]) 03:16, 28 August 2009 (EDT) |
|||
** P.S.: There's probably also a separate database of text messages that Sprint grabs for the Heroes Interactive/iSMS that runs concurrently with the on-air broadcasts of the show. However, I'm not sure if that database is now maintained on Sprint's server or on NBC's server. When Heroes Interactive was run by OpenTV, the platform login was on NBC's server.--[[User:MiamiVolts|MiamiVolts]] ([[User_talk:MiamiVolts|talk]]) 03:31, 28 August 2009 (EDT) |
|||
** Well, here is something that has actually bugged me since I saw it in June (so, not something connected with the server move, but still something that should be fixed, imo)... I've reported it via the Technical Support form you can get to from the footer of the nbc pages, and nothing has been done about it, so maybe it'll get fixed through this channel. I may also report it at [http://boards.9thwonders.com/index.php?act=findpost&pid=846601 9thWonders], too. So, here goes... When I first saw [http://www.nbc.com/Heroes/news/2009/06/16/updated-heroes-fan-art/ the news] that the [http://www.nbc.com/Heroes/fan-gallery HEROES Fan Art Gallery] was updated, I checked it out, and was stoked, 'cuz I could see that one of the [http://snurl.com/HEROES_3DHelixes 3D Helixes] (prefer that to "Helices"...) I submitted was accepted ([http://www.flickr.com/photos/1hero/3636900760/ screencap]). However, at the time, a person would be sent to an error page if ya clicked on the stereogram thumbnail to view the pic (&, just fyi - it's the 506th of 519 images). Later, though, you ''could'' see [http://snurl.com/HEROES_3DHelix the 3D Helix] (link goes to another screencap with info), but ''only if'' you knew [http://www.nbc.com/Heroes/fan-gallery/98393/ its url] specifically (or knew of any of the other urls for the 15 newest submissions), because otherwise, when you use the default url for the gallery (the third link shared in this message), ''or'' clicked on one of the older images (within the first 504 pics), you would only be sent to the page which allows you to see the 504 images that had been there before the update. Therefore, if nbc allowed folks to access all 519 images (or, the current total), ''without'' having to know the specific url for one of the newest 15 images, then that would be great (and, expected, as well)! I don't see why they shared news that they "updated" the fan gallery, but have not updated the default url page, because, at the moment, it appears as if they've "hidden" the newest submissions. Why would they do that, or appear to do that, ''even after'' the issue has been reported?!? Anyway, if you could pass along the info, I'd appreciate it. :) [[User:'ROESian|'ROESian]] |
|||
*** Sooo... Did nbc look at what was reported? There isn't a change to the HEROES Fan Art Gallery, and that's a bummer that most folks don't know or see the 15 newest submissions. [[User:'ROESian|'ROESian]] |
|||
** Here's something: I tried to log in so I could join in with the heroes:survival game and try and get my character in a graphic novel, and it said my email address was already registered. I didn't think it was, so I tried my other address, which I know I haven't registered on NBC. It said the same thing. I then created an entirely new address especially for registering. It said THAT one was already registered aswell! Can you pass on that it won't let me do it? It's really unfair! [[User:TempestTechnopath|TempestTechnopath]] 17:01, 31 August 2009 |

== Timeline inconsistencies (October 2006) == |

Hi everyone, <br> |
|||
There are some major inconsistencies with the timeline of [[Timeline:October 2006|October 2006]]. For days actually I've been revising every event, every scene in the first six episodes one-by-one.. even tried to make a small scale timeline string. Now I'm almost sure that there are two '''wrong''' canonical informations which contradicts two other canonical infos, also absurdising many other things. I'm not sure whether here is the place for discussing this, but as an almost post-academical analyses of timelines one-by-one and character-by-character, I can definitely say that there's need to change the timelines of multiple things - actually just sliding most of them by one day. Please leave an open mind and discuss it asap. <br> |

Does anyone have problems with the site recently? Every once in a while, while clicking through the links on the site, I'll get a 404 not found error on a WebServerX system page (sometimes it'll be a Google page and sometimes it'll simply be a blank page saying "Not Found - 404"). Also, sometimes I've been redirected to random websites when clicking the "Submit" button on edit pages. --[[User:Radicell|Radicell]] 10:50, 6 October 2009 (EDT) |

* I haven't experienced those things. Have you tried a different browser? If so, you should probably let Admin know so he can try to track down the problem.--[[User:MiamiVolts|MiamiVolts]] ([[User_talk:MiamiVolts|talk]]) 11:28, 6 October 2009 (EDT) |

** I haven't had that problem either. My only issue is sometimes when I'm clicking hastily, an ad for [[Sprint]] will pop up in a new window, most likely because I've clicked the wrong spot. :) -- {{User:Ryangibsonstewart/sig}} 11:52, 6 October 2009 (EDT) |

*** What web browser are you using? For what it's worth the site doesn't run on anything remotely related to WebServerX. Are you actually located in China or are you using proxies over there? In either case I know China does a lot of Internet filtering so you may be running into sporadic issues related to that filtering (which may for some reason only be occurring when you visit here). Heroes: The Game
Feel free to check out a radical new fan fiction: Heroes: The Game. Each installment to the game is a "mission" for the player to complete. Visit the mission list to read the two missions that have already been written and released. Enjoy. --Radicell 04:47, 23 March 2010 (EDT)
Visions of Earth needs help!
Hey everyone! So as most of you probaly know, I am writing a fan fiction called "Visions of Earth", currently I am needing some help with the administrative side of it. E.g. Updating character histories, abilities etc. So, I am looking for someone who is interested in helping me. There shouldn't be too much work to do considering only one episode has been released. So if anyone is interested, please respond on my talk page! Thank you! :) --Leckie -- Talk 19:04, 26 March 2010 (EDT)
Few things that can be improved
Ok, first off, Great wiki, but i would improve a few things.
On the Character pages, we have (example)
Claire Bennett: Claire is daughter of Nathan, but adopted daughter of Noah. She can regenerate and blah blah blah
About Claire
She lived in Texas as a cheerleader...
Show History
In Season 1 Claire discovered her ability, ran away from sylar and gets held hostage by Ted, blah blah
In Season 2 Claire moves to Costa Verde and falls for West, blah
Then it goes
In Season 3 episode 1, claire does this
In Season 3 episode 2, we see claire for a slit second drinking tea
In Season 3 episode 3, claire does this and this ....
Why can we not have a sweeping few paragraphs for the whole of volume 3 & 4 & 5 like we do for Season/Volume 1 & 2 rather than an episode by episode breakdown (which could be in its own article like "Claire Bennet: Season One History" and "Claire Bennet: Season Two History".)?
And finally my second idea.
Maybe we could have some articles on "Character X & Character Y History" Documenting the relationship between two different characters in the show history, so when two characters who do not normally meet (like Ando and Noah) there could be one article to tell us the relation and previous meeting of these characters.
This would need a LOT of new articles (~30 characters in Heros, meaning we would have 900 new articles) But when we are watching season 5 (hoping there will be a season 5) we can instantly track previous characters interactions even if they barely met before. Mr Hiro 21:01, 10 April 2010 (EDT)
EDIT: Damn it, no sooner have i finished complaining about Heroes wiki have i noticed Heroes wiki has already changed, looks like my first idea is already being implemented before i can even complain about it. Never mind, however i would still like to push my second idea. Mr Hiro 21:08, 10 April 2010 (EDT)
- So long as we don't append silly "Sythan" style names to the pages (but rather something like Connection:Nathan Petrelli and Sylar), I think this could be a really good idea. Lots of Season One's plot points revolved around stuff like this. --Ricard Desi 21:15, 10 April 2010 (EDT)
- How would that be different from the content in Portal:Relationships?--MiamiVolts (talk) 23:06, 10 April 2010 (EDT)
- It wouldn't be a fan creation, first of all. --Boom D 83 01:19, 11 April 2010 (EDT)
- The only thing that's really stopping the relationships being a canon analysis is the names that we've given them. If they were renamed to Relationship:Hiro and Charlie for example, all the information and interactions come from canon sources and is canon. --mc_hammark 08:29, 11 April 2010 (EDT)
- So we're basically looking at a massive move from all the corny fan creation names to "Connection/Relationship:X and Y", right?--BOYCOOL -- THE END IS NIGH. 09:32, 11 April 2010 (EDT)
- I simply don't think such articles are necessary. --Radicell 09:48, 11 April 2010 (EDT)

- I agree that we don't need to duplicate/change the articles. I think the Relationship articles are okay as they are. I've grown to like having them as fan creations.--MiamiVolts (talk) 11:28, 11 April 2010 (EDT)
- I'm also not a fan of adding 900 new articles that need to be maintained when we have a hard enough time maintaining the articles we already have in existence. So many of those silly relationship articles--which could serve the purposes stated above, despite being fan creation articles--are stubs, and are looong stubs, at that. Even the connections page could be beefed up, but that page really is rarely touched, so I'm afraid to see what would happen when we add 900 more pages like it. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 16:37, 11 April 2010 (EDT)
- That's the thing though, if it were to be done, it be a waste of memory. The relationships already exist and use only canon information. If we created these articles, the only reason they'd be canon and not fan creations is the name. As soon as we slap a fan made name on anything it becomes a fan creation. --mc_hammark 16:45, 11 April 2010 (EDT)

- This is my first time posting something here so please bear with me: I have a minor alteration request that I would like to run by the community and that is changing the character box on the right side where it says known ability to just ability because I find it a bit confusing for people we know have an ability, we just don't know what it is so none is posted, to me implying they don't have one. For the change if the character isn't an evolved human we put none and if he/she does but we don't know we put unknown Or, for example, Kaito's character bio we could put unk, see notes That's my two cents. -- Inblackestnight 23:57, 31 May 2010 (EDT)
The future is now
It's only just now occurred to me. Assuming Heroes gets picked up for a fifth (and almost certainly final) season, and if they're smart enough to fast forward through most of 2010, we'll actually get a look at the dreaded year 2011, when everything seems to go wrong. I wonder how they'll choose to address that? --Ricard Desi 12:25, 20 April 2010 (EDT)
- Well everything has been leading there since the beginning, so it would seem. Especially with Claire's most recent actions... --Skullman1392 23:49, 20 April 2010 (EDT)
Fans of The 4400
Did any of you watch this fantastic show that ran from 2004 to 2007? Since activity on Heroes Wiki has slowed dramatically, I've decided to spread my wings: I've taken over The 4400 Wiki as an administrator and I've been working on the site for a couple of weeks now. We're still in the very early stages, and very few articles have been written, so any help we can get is appreciated. Any fans of this show may contribute, although admittedly Wikia's interface takes a bit of getting used to. And to those who haven't watched this show, I strongly recommend you do. --Radicell 09:11, 6 May 2010 (EDT)
- I loved The 4400. I thought it was a very under appreciated show. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 21:08, 6 May 2010 (EDT)
- Definitely Ryan, me too. -- Jan Rodrigo (talk) (contributions) 04:42, 7 May 2010 (EDT)
- Yeah 4400 was great....except when season 3 rolled around, and Mohinder and everyone began injecting themselves with Promicin. (oops). --HiroDynoSlayer (talk) 05/7/2010 13:14 (EST)
- Definitely Ryan, me too. -- Jan Rodrigo (talk) (contributions) 04:42, 7 May 2010 (EDT)
File
Hey guys, I just find a really good Microsoft Excel file about Heroes, this is the link. There are written all the evolved humans, all the abilities, all the primatech files, a timeline for the Company. All this things there are also on this wiki, but I think you shold look at it. :) (P.S.: You should have installed Microsoft Excel for read this file) --TanderixUTCR14:30, 11 May 2010 (EDT)
- I can't see it, it comes up with something you have to buy. --Leckie -- Talk 14:34, 11 May 2010 (EDT)
- Didn't appear this: "Your file download should start immediately.
If it does not start automatically, please click here to start the download process. Signature and Premium users never have to wait in line to get any public file, so sign up and sign in now and you won't ever have to wait again!"? --Tanderix 14:39, 11 May 2010 (EDT)
- I was able to see it, where did you get it? Cuz it has a LOT of information, but it's not all acurate (it says Lydia's ability is Clairvoyance, for example) and it doesn't look very official. --Skullman1392 17:27, 11 May 2010 (EDT)
- I found it in a 9th Wonders (site) post. I know, it isn't perfect, I changed it on my PC. ;)--Tanderix 14:08, 12 May 2010 (EDT)
New Wiki Project
Hello everyone :) I have recently started a new wiki over at Wikia, about the Percy Jackson series. If anyone is able to help it would be muchly appreciated! :) I hope to be editing with some of you over there. The wiki is currently in very early stages, I only just made it, and any help would be great! Thanks! :D --Leckie -- Talk 14:20, 12 May 2010 (EDT)
- There's another Percy Jackson wiki on wikia, It's here :P. --Jenx222 | U / T / C | <inlcudeonly>08:00, 7 January 2012 (EST) 15:53, 12 May 2010 (EDT)

NBC 'Fan It' Program Begins May 17, New Ad Campaign
NBC will be starting a new affinity program later today, May 17, called "Fan It". I'm hoping that there might be something related to Heroes in the program, though I wouldn't place good odds on it. You can read about it on the NBCUMV website, at MediaWeek, or ThingFo. According to the press release, it will be "allowing visitors to earn points by watching videos, chatting about shows, and sharing content with friends. The program requires fans to sign up to participate at http://www.NBC.com/fanit, though they can do so using their existing Facebook, Twitter, MySpace or MyNBC accounts.
As people accumulate points, they will be able to redeem them for various prizes, such as access to a yet-to-premiere series, NBC merchandise and entries to sweepstakes. To execute the Fan It program, NBC has partnered with the social media tracking company ThingFo Inc."
Also, "the network will kick off an ad blitz that includes a whopping 19 Microsoft properties and partners, ranging from MSN to Bing to Glo to various Xbox games. As part of the elaborate sponsorship package—which will run through Sept. 20—NBC and Microsoft have collaborated on “Preview to Fall TV” microsite within MSN TV. In addition, NBC will promote its new lineup via Wonderwall, Windows Messenger, and various mobile and social media platforms."--MiamiVolts (talk) 00:05, 17 May 2010 (EDT)
Fall Line-up
Well, the Fall Preview is up at nbc.com. It looks like Heroes lost to a show called The Event, that's trying really hard to be some kind of Lost/Flashforward show... gotta be honest, looking at the line-up, I think NBC is going to get flattened this year. --Ricard Desi 09:36, 17 May 2010 (EDT)
- Yeah, nothing looks particularly interesting other than Chuck. What could happen is, if none of these new shows get much viewings, NBC might bring back Heroes, or give them a few years out then bring them back, because although the fan base is small, it is a solid fan base. --mc_hammark 10:47, 17 May 2010 (EDT)
Keeping the Graphic Novels going.
NBC wants to know whether they should keep the graphic novels going. They've got a thread going on 9th Wonders, so I suggest we all head over there and let them know that we are still wanting the GNs. Thanks guys.--mc_hammark 06:51, 19 May 2010 (EDT)
Season 4 DVD
Is there? I'd love to know what was cut from Season 4.

Tim Kring launches new ARG with Nokia
It's called the Conspiracy for Good, and you can find out more info. about it including how to sign up at http://www.nokia.com/press/press-releases/showpressrelease?newsid=1426084 and http://www.conspiracyforgood.com/. It looks like it's not Heroes-related, but I thought it worth mentioning. It begins Mid-July 2010.--MiamiVolts (talk) 10:48, 27 June 2010 (EDT)
Heroes Once Again
Now that Heroes has ended, I decided to do as if it was being published again or to recreate all contents of Heroes especially the Heroes 360 and Heroes Evolutions (including MySpace pages, blogs, graphic novels, iStories, webisodes etc.) in the exact same order it was done four years ago back in 2006. I've opened a Google group page called "Reexperience Heroes" where all the announcements about new episode airing, new graphic novel released etc. will be done. And the dates and hours it happened four years from now, will be exactly the same. So, today is July 21 2010, in the Reexperience Heroes we're in July 21 2006. Therefore we already have the MySpace pages of Claire and Zach. Those who are interested can join the google group also add Claire and Zach as a friend and write comments :) -- Jan Rodrigo (talk) (contributions) 07:38, 21 July 2010 (EDT)
Past tense
Now that Heroes has ended, should we put articles into past tense? Episodes articles should stay present tense for the plots, as these should be read as though the reader is describing the show as it happens. For character articles, I think it would be best if they were all in past tense, but for crew and actor articles, they should all be in past tense as is is unlikely than many of us will be checking up one every one of there careers. But before I do anything I want to see what others say. --mc_hammark 18:54, 6 August 2010 (EDT)
- No, I don't think so. The articles are written from the perspective of happening at the moment. Think of it as watching it on the DVD, if needed. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 17:47, 17 August 2010 (EDT)
Hey guys, it's been a while. Figured I'd pop in and give you all a heads up about a show I just discovered that's caught my interest. The first episode, for example, had a man who is able to absorb or conduct electrical current without sustaining any harm; a man who's brain works faster than a calculator; a 5'6" man able to snap steel, bend metal, and hold a motorcycle back with his hands, and a blind man who can navigate via echolocation. Another episode featured a man who could punch with more lethal force than a 30+MPH car crash. It's wild stuff, and though Heroes was a drama show, I'm sure enough of us are fans of Super Humans in general, so I'm positive most of you would enjoy it. Anyway, hope all is well here. :)--Riddler 01:52, 14 August 2010 (EDT)
Kaito Nakamura does have an abillity.
I was watching the bonus dvd from season 2 and i noticed something in the deleted scenes.
He hase the abillity to see the variables of any situation and predict the outcome.
Ando: Like a computer? Kaito: I'm faster. How do you think i've done so well in the stock market?
--StephanOtter 15:53, 5 November 2010
- This has been mentioned several times, it has also been noted in the Notes section on Kaito's page. Also... since it was only shown in a deleted scene it is not official, meaning we can't class it as his ability, unfortunately. --Leckie -- Talk 14:09, 5 November 2010 (EDT)
I miss you guys
Does anyone still edit around here (except for good old Ryan)? I've just spent half an hour browsing through the articles and discussions on this site out of boredom, and I've been feeling small blasts of nostalgia and a lingering sadness that Heroes has forever ended and, really, so has our little community of Heroes Wiki editors. --Radicell 03:05, 22 March 2011 (EDT)
- *sniff* Hey, Radicell. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 11:07, 22 March 2011 (EDT)
Alphas
I know very few people are going to read this, but for the ones who do, there's a new show airing on Syfy called Alphas that has grabbed my attention. It seems similar to Heroes in many respects and I've been impressed by the pilot episode. Just a note for anyone who's interested: there's an Alphas Wiki that looks like it'd be fun to edit. --Radicell 23:13, 15 July 2011 (EDT)
- Cool, thanks! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:27, 16 July 2011 (EDT)
This made me smile
So I was reading this interview with Rockstar Games' founder, Dan Houser. Look at the last question on the last page.
It's funny. I spoke with Tim Kring, the creator of the TV show Heroes, earlier this year, and even that show had so much mythology going on he said that the writers lost track. But thankfully, the fans were so obsessive they had basically put together a wiki, and the writers were pulling information from that.
--Radicell 17:55, 8 January 2012 (EST)
- That's great! Thanks, Radicell! Here's a tweet on the original interview. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 00:11, 10 January 2012 (EST)
Binge
Hey, everybody. The websites TV Binges & Primatech Files are going to do a Heroes binge on September 6 from 1:00 to 9:00 pm. They will be watching the episodes Genesis, Company Man, Five Years Gone, How to Stop an Exploding Man, Four Months Later..., 1961, and Brave New World. (What a great list!) It'll be a neat fan community event on Twitter. Details can be found at this link. Just thought I'd pass this along! :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:55, 19 August 2015 (EDT)
Animated Gifs and 9thwonders.com
Sandubadear asked on Talk:Hachiro's ability about having a gif of Hachiro's ability being used to materialize Katana Girl (transform her into a physical person), and after I added some screenshots to the ability page Sandubadear told me on my talk page that the desire was really for a moving gif. As I am not comfortable making a moving gif for this ability, I asked Admin about making it, whether it was okay to do so here/elsewhere and if the wiki should have a policy on animated gifs in general for our documentation, etc., and noting that I saw some abilities animated like Tommy's in the new Tumblr blogs shown on the revised 9thwonders.com site. Admin pointed me to this community portal for my questions.
The wiki has had a category for Animations for a while, but we use them only sparingly in articles (most animations don't work inside a gallery). Hopefully, if this is allowed, someone else can help Sandubadear out.--MiamiVolts (talk) 17:12, 9 November 2015 (EST)
- Used sparingly, it's allowed, especially for something like showing how an ability's special effect is displayed. I can't help with making the animation though. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 19:13, 9 November 2015 (EST)
- I agree, and I also do not make animated gifs. Should any more be created I would just suggest that they try to limit to the fewest number of frames necessary to accurately demonstrate the idea in question. (Admin (talk) 20:46, 9 November 2015 (EST))
- Thanks, hopefully someone else will volunteer to help Sandubadear out. Regarding the blogs, for reference, there is the NBC Heroes Reborn Tumblr blog (nbcheroes.tumblr.com)(add this to links?), and there is the NBC 9thwonders Tumblr blog (nbc9thwonders.tumblr.com), which redirects to 9thwonders.com and appears to be a blog with posts from different blogs. The example I noted above of showing Tommy's ability appears to be an official reblog at 9thwonders.com/post/126125489081 (lower right animation) of another user's blog post: endiness.tumblr.com/post/123935456172.--MiamiVolts (talk) 01:06, 10 November 2015 (EST)
