*I think leaving red ink isn't an entirely bad thing when writing an article since we can always check the list of "wanted articles" and people will always be checking up on them and adding stubs where needed. I'd personally suggest rewording "Either write an entire article, or a brief summary and add the "stubs" template to it" to make it clear that it's more of a suggestion than a rule. One nice thing about the "wanted articles" is that you get the number of pages requesting that article so it's possible to determine the saliency of the request. (Admin 02:25, 7 November 2006 (EST)) |
|||
**I agree. I'd rather have no article than a bad article in most cases. Also, there will be times when we just can't meaningfully add even a stub, like Charlie.--Hardvice(talk) 02:29, 7 November 2006 (EST) |

*Not yet It would probably require more work than it would be used for, and they theories do not yet rival the lengths of the articles as they did on Lostpedia. -- 22:44, 16 November 2006 (EST) |

* It might not be a bad idea to do something similar with the episode-by-episode character histories, though. They're becoming somewhat cumbersome already ... just imagine what they'll look like after 22 episodes! Maybe we can move the episode-by-episode histories to a tab at the end of the season and leave a season one summary on the main article. As for the actual question, I agree with Ohmyno ... good idea, but premature at the moment.--Hardvice <small>(talk)</small> 22:49, 16 November 2006 (EST) |

**I think the Theories page is working well for now to serve a similar need. Perhaps in the future it could become unwieldy, but as of now, it is more than appropriate. --ZyberGoat 13:11, 5 December 2006 (EST) |

Feel free to check out a radical new fan fiction: Heroes: The Game. Each installment to the game is a "mission" for the player to complete. Visit the mission list to read the two missions that have already been written and released. Enjoy. --Radicell 04:47, 23 March 2010 (EDT) |

== Character Summary and Character History == |
|||
== Visions of Earth needs help! == |
|||
The main character pages are getting quite long. I suggest we have 2 pages for each character: a Character Summary page, and a Character History page. (These don't need to be the actual names - it's just an idea.) This could be done so the main page is the summary (which would be a long summary, all important info, but not every detail), and there would be a tab or an achive for the in-depth history (which would include each episode's information for the character). This would mean a little more work when it comes to updating after a new episode, but it would make the site look so much cleaner. And the extra work would (hopefully) be absorbed by our growing community. Any thoughts? - RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 00:23, 6 December 2006 (EST) |
|||
* Oh hey. Read what I said two comments up. :) Seriously, though, I think what we should do is wait until the season ends, archive them to a new page, and add a season summary with a link to the full history. Then, next season we let them bloat up again and repeat. Each characrter's page will thus have a summary of past seasons and a detailed history for the current season.--Hardvice <small>(talk)</small> 00:50, 6 December 2006 (EST) |

Hey everyone! So as most of you probaly know, I am writing a fan fiction called "Visions of Earth", currently I am needing some help with the administrative side of it. E.g. Updating character histories, abilities etc. So, I am looking for someone who is interested in helping me. There shouldn't be too much work to do considering only one episode has been released. So if anyone is interested, please respond on my talk page! Thank you! :) -- 19:04, 26 March 2010 (EDT) |

== Full episodes at NBC == |
|||
== Few things that can be improved == |
|||
* NBC's got all the episodes available to watch on their site at the moment, so I added links to all the episode articles for people who would like to watch them. Normally links would be best placed at the bottom of the article, but in this instance I think it would be good for people to see the links before they potentially read the synopsis, but after they read the summary so they know what the episode is about first, so I placed them at the top. Plus I think this will be a good thing to get people through the hiatus. If they come across an episode they haven't seen yet they can just click the link and watch the episode. If the episodes had been hosted by anyone other than NBC I wouldnt have added them, but since it's them I went for it. (Admin 18:47, 10 December 2006 (EST)) |

Ok, first off, Great wiki, but i would improve a few things. |
|||
==Web Episodes -- Nice, clear credits at last!== |
|||
How sad is it that my first thought was "at last ... unobstructed credits!" In any case, from the aforementioned credits: |
|||
* <s>The third guy at the poker game is the Lowlife, played by Stephen Full. Ernie is credited as "Ernie the Weasel" |
|||
* Linderman's thugs are the "Big Guy" and "Weasel". I noted that on their page. |
|||
* The Newsie Hiro gets the comic from is played by Dennis Chavis |
|||
* The Beat cop guarding the Walkers' home with Matt is played by Russel B. McKenzie |
|||
* Linderman's cop is credited as 'State trooper' and later 'Nevada State Trooper'. Not sure what to do about this; ours is more descriptive.</s> |
|||
** I say just include it in the character's notes - he's not integral enough to make a big deal of it. - RyanGibsonStewart (talk) |
|||
* <s>The convenience store robber is credited as "Crackhead" (ditto)</s> |
|||
**Again, just another cool note - RyanGibsonStewart (talk) |
|||
* <s>Dean Napolitano is the LVPD deputy guarding Niki's house in BH |
|||
* Ben Murray is Rufus, the security guard at Primatech Paper Co.</s> |
|||
On the Character pages, we have (example) |
|||
If we want to get really, really trivial: |
|||
* <s>The car rental lady is Riki Lindhome</s> |
|||
* David Ury is (Chandra's) "Super" in Genesis |
|||
* <s>Tohoru Masamune is the "Boss at Yamagato" in Genesis |
|||
* Greg Wrangler is the "Odessa Fire Chief" in Genesis (I'm guessing the one Claire saves, not Officer Ramsford)</s> |
|||
* Max Amini is a "cabbie" in Genesis (?) |
|||
* Claudia Difolco is the "reporter" in Genesis (on the TV news story about the train wreck) |
|||
* Jim Devoti is a "cop" in DLB (not Furakowa, the Detective, the FBI Agent, or the Beat cop, though) |
|||
* <s>Rick Scarry is the bartender in OGL</s> |
|||
* Matt Eyde is a "uniformed cop" in OGL (?) |
|||
* Paydin Lopachin is "Brody's next victim" in Collision |
|||
* Adam Harrington is a "Paramedic" in Hiros (?) |
|||
* <s>Kate Connor is "Nurse Jennifer" in NtH (the one Ted grabs)</s> |
|||
* Mark Anthony Cage is "Highway Patrol" in NtH (?) |
|||
* <s>Eliza Coleman is "Woman in Car Crash" in NtH</s> |
|||
* Peyton Hinson is the "waitress" at the Burnt Toast Diner (the one who's not Lynette) in 7MtM |
|||
* Danielle Morrow is "Everyday Girl" and Brent Tarnol is "Male student" in Homecoming (these are the 2 who talk to Claire as as she's walking with Zach) |
|||
* Ossie Mair is the "Vendor" (must be the guy who points out Sanjog to Mohinder) in Homecoming |
|||
* Tiffany Hines is the cheerleader in Homecoming ("Don't freak out!" to Jackie) |
|||
* Alan John Evrard is the Utah Highway Patrol in Homecoming (the one DL ducks to buy a newspaper to avoid, I guess) |
|||
* <s>Robert Rigamonti is (Heidi)'s "Surgeon" in SMA</s> |
|||
* Ryan K. Smith is a deputy (not Deputy Lloyd) in SMA (?) |
|||
* Yuki Matsuzaki is a "Worker" in SMA (I'm assuming the one who talks to Hiro when he teleports back) |
|||
* Conroe Brooks is a "Police Officer" in Fallout (?) |
|||
Claire Bennett: Claire is daughter of Nathan, but adopted daughter of Noah. She can regenerate and blah blah blah |
|||
This is everyone who is credited and doesn't currently have an article. Do with this what you will.--Hardvice <small>(talk)</small> 17:20, 11 December 2006 (EST) |

*Thanks Hardvice! I added a few red links for articles I think might have some merit in being written - ie, red links that already exist, people with more than one reference already, pictures of people, etc. I'm not quite ready to write them all yet, but I think we should keep them red and somebody will get around to them ... January 22 is a long time away! :) - RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:09, 11 December 2006 (EST) |

** I took the liberty of red-linking all the actors just to see who has an article and who doesn't. - Cuardin 12:36, 14 January 2007 (EST) |
|||
***I would hold off on red-linking unless we're sure we're going to write an article about that person. Some of the people are credited, but we don't even know who they are yet. ("Thanks, NBC, for such descriptive credits," he says sarcastically.) For instance, I have no idea who Adam Harrington (the paramedic in Hiros) is, and I really don't think he needs an article yet. Nor do I don't think we need to have a red link for the "Don't freak out!" cheerleader quite yet. Just my opinion. - RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 12:57, 14 January 2007 (EST) |

== Number of Examples on Powers Pages == |
|||
In Season 1 Claire discovered her ability, ran away from sylar and gets held hostage by Ted, blah blah |
|||
I thought it was about time to start a discussion here about the number of examples on the powers pages, before they all get deleted. Some have said a limit of 10, some 12, some other numbers. Any thoughts? My suggestion is no more than 12 dynamic examples. <p> I also think a link to a full list of examples would be a good idea, and would avoid wars about which examples are the most representative, or the most dynamic. Thoughts? - RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:32, 3 January 2007 (EST) |
|||
* More articles for :Category:Lists with extraordinarily long names? My evil plan is working at last! I agree with archiving the full lists before we delete anything, but the length of the examples sections doesn't really bother me yet.--Hardvice <small>(talk)</small> 15:59, 3 January 2007 (EST) |
|||
* I'm inclined to limit lists to ten (10) good examples. --Ted C 16:56, 3 January 2007 (EST) |
|||
** I agree with both comments. 10-12 is pretty sufficient, and I don't think we have anything too much above 12 right now. - RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 17:10, 3 January 2007 (EST) |
|||
* I agree with that too. As the show goes on, we couldput examples on a separate article. Like " Examples of space-time manipulation". Heroe 14:39, 6 January 2007 (EST) |
|||
In Season 2 Claire moves to Costa Verde and falls for West, blah |
|||
== Theories == |
|||
Then it goes |
|||
As a reader of Lostpedia, I noticed that they've recently rolled out a new feature: theory tabs at the top of pages. Considering Heroes is still at a relatively young point and theories aren't quite as numerous, rampant, and developed as in Lost, I think that as time progresses, it could be a good idea. It could definitely help keep the pages less cluttered. Please discuss any thoughts on this article's discussion page. User:Ted C |
|||
:Another thought (and not one that I necessarily endorse) is to split the central theories page into a page for "Theories about Characters", "Theories about Powers", etc. - RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:24, 4 January 2007 (EST) |

== Standardizing External Links == |
|||
In Season 3 episode 2, we see claire for a slit second drinking tea |
|||
I'm noticing that a lot of our "External Links" sections follow different formats. Some include the title of the page in the link, others the domain name, and still others don't really fall into a category. I think we need to standardize our links. I'm open to anything, but I suggest we include the title of the page inside the link, and then (if applicable), a hyphen and the domain name outside the link, along with an explanation if necessary. As well, I think all external links should be bulleted, even if there's only one (which I think we generally do already). For example: |
|||
* Monkey brain - Wikipedia |
|||
Any other thoughts? Anybody want to take on the project of standardizing our links? - RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 01:46, 21 January 2007 (EST) |

: It's not a big deal, really. It'll be interesting to see how theirs plays out, but their wiki is a few months late. I still think our site is and will remain the best. :) I think between here and Wikipedia most people interested in a Heroes wiki have already found a site that suits their needs. Why can we not have a sweeping few paragraphs for the whole of volume 3 & 4 & 5 like we do for Season/Volume 1 & 2 rather than an episode by episode breakdown (which could be in its own article like "Claire Bennet: Season One History" and "Claire Bennet: Season Two History".)? |
|||
==Recent lack of commenting in the Summary== |
|||
I just noticed we have a lot of new people who have contributed some great stuff, but they don't leave any comments in the summary fields, so chechangelogs become completely meaningless. Am I just being anally retentive or should some sort of educational drive be started? -- Cuardin 13:11, 28 January 2007 (EST) |

:I've to say that I'm new to the wiki things and I first thought that only Admins could leave comments since I always see Hardvice leaving comments and not the others people. But since today I always leave a comment now and I agree that it should be almost mandatory before accepting an edit/new. (forgive my english :p ) |
|||
And finally my second idea. |
|||
:It's not a huge problem, since all changes get reviewed anyway, but it is a good idea to add a summary (which reminds me, I need to turn the summary prompt back on in my preferences). Maybe we could have some articles on "Character X & Character Y History" Documenting the relationship between two different characters in the show history, so when two characters who do not normally meet (like Ando and Noah) there could be one article to tell us the relation and previous meeting of these characters. |
|||
This would need a LOT of new articles (~30 characters in Heros, meaning we would have 900 new articles) But when we are watching season 5 (hoping there will be a season 5) we can instantly track previous characters interactions even if they barely met before. |

** I'm also not a fan of adding 900 new articles that need to be maintained when we have a hard enough time maintaining the articles we already have in existence. So many of those silly relationship articles--which could serve the purposes stated above, despite being fan creation articles--are stubs, and are looong stubs, at that. Even the connections page could be beefed up, but that page really is rarely touched, so I'm afraid to see what would happen when we add 900 more pages like it. Ultimately, this would be a huge project, and one I'm not very excited about. If somebody would like to create it in their user space and then move it into the main namespace when it's all finished, that is something we can certainly discuss. However, I have a feeling that the massive size of this undertaking will prove overwhelming and not worth the effort. -- 16:37, 11 April 2010 (EDT) |
|||
***That's the thing though, if it were to be done, it be a waste of memory. The relationships already exist and use only canon information. If we created these articles, the only reason they'd be canon and not fan creations is the name. As soon as we slap a fan made name on anything it becomes a fan creation. --mc_hammark 16:45, 11 April 2010 (EDT) |

*This is my first time posting something here so please bear with me: I have a minor alteration request that I would like to run by the community and that is changing the character box on the right side where it says known ability to just ability because I find it a bit confusing for people we know have an ability, we just don't know what it is so none is posted, to me implying they don't have one. For the change if the character isn't an evolved human we put none and if he/she does but we don't know we put unknown Or, for example, Kaito's character bio we could put unk, see notes That's my two cents. -- Inblackestnight 23:57, 31 May 2010 (EDT) |

Did any of you watch this fantastic show that ran from 2004 to 2007? Since activity on Heroes Wiki has slowed dramatically, I've decided to spread my wings: I've taken over The 4400 Wiki as an administrator and I've been working on the site for a couple of weeks now. We're still in the very early stages, and very few articles have been written, so any help we can get is appreciated. Hello everyone :) I have recently started a new wiki over at Wikia, about the Percy Jackson series. == NBC 'Fan It' Program Begins May 17, New Ad Campaign == |
|||
NBC will be starting a new affinity program later today, May 17, called "Fan It". I'm hoping that there might be something related to Heroes in the program, though I wouldn't place good odds on it. You can read about it on the NBCUMV website, at MediaWeek, or ThingFo. According to the press release, it will be "allowing visitors to earn points by watching videos, chatting about shows, and sharing content with friends. The program requires fans to sign up to participate at http://www.NBC.com/fanit, though they can do so using their existing Facebook, Twitter, MySpace or MyNBC accounts. |
|||
As people accumulate points, they will be able to redeem them for various prizes, such as access to a yet-to-premiere series, NBC merchandise and entries to sweepstakes. To execute the Fan It program, NBC has partnered with the social media tracking company ThingFo Inc." |
|||
Also, "the network will kick off an ad blitz that includes a whopping 19 Microsoft properties and partners, ranging from MSN to Bing to Glo to various Xbox games. As part of the elaborate sponsorship package—which will run through Sept. 20—NBC and Microsoft have collaborated on “Preview to Fall TV” microsite within MSN TV. In addition, NBC will promote its new lineup via Wonderwall, Windows Messenger, and various mobile and social media platforms."--MiamiVolts (talk) 00:05, 17 May 2010 (EDT) |

== Fall Line-up == |
|||
Well, the Fall Preview is up at nbc.com. It looks like Heroes lost to a show called The Event, that's trying really hard to be some kind of Lost/Flashforward show... gotta be honest, looking at the line-up, I think NBC is going to get flattened this year. --<font color=#609000>Ricard</font> <font color=#609000>Desi</font> 09:36, 17 May 2010 (EDT) |
|||
*Yeah, nothing looks particularly interesting other than Chuck. What could happen is, if none of these new shows get much viewings, NBC might bring back Heroes, or give them a few years out then bring them back, because although the fan base is small, it is a solid fan base. --mc_hammark 10:47, 17 May 2010 (EDT) |

== Heroes Once Again == |
|||
Now that Heroes has ended, I decided to do as if it was being published again or to recreate all contents of Heroes especially the Heroes 360 and Heroes Evolutions (including MySpace pages, blogs, graphic novels, iStories, webisodes etc.) in the exact same order it was done four years ago back in 2006. I've opened a Google group page called "Reexperience Heroes" where all the announcements about new episode airing, new graphic novel released etc. will be done. And the dates and hours it happened four years from now, will be exactly the same. So, today is July 21 2010, in the Reexperience Heroes we're in July 21 2006. Therefore we already have the MySpace pages of Claire and Zach. == Past tense == |
|||
Now that Heroes has ended, should we put articles into past tense? Episodes articles should stay present tense for the plots, as these should be read as though the reader is describing the show as it happens. For character articles, I think it would be best if they were all in past tense, but for crew and actor articles, they should all be in past tense as is is unlikely than many of us will be checking up one every one of there careers. But before I do anything I want to see what others say. --mc_hammark 18:54, 6 August 2010 (EDT) |

* No, I don't think so. The articles are written from the perspective of happening at the moment. Think of it as watching it on the DVD, if needed. :) -- 17:47, 17 August 2010 (EDT) |

== Something every single one of you may be interested in (though unrelated to Heroes) == |
|||
Hey guys, it's been a while. Figured I'd pop in and give you all a heads up about a show I just discovered that's caught my interest. |
|||
It's a documentary show on the History Channel called Stan Lee's Superhumans. Basically the show is run by Stan Lee, who sends Daniel Browning Smith, a man who is considered to be the most flexible man in the world. He searches out humans across the world who are rumored to have "Super Powers", he witnesses them do their thing, and then he tries to find an explanation for the phenomenon. The first episode, for example, had a man who is able to absorb or conduct electrical current without sustaining any harm; a man who's brain works faster than a calculator; a 5'6" man able to snap steel, bend metal, and hold a motorcycle back with his hands, and a blind man who can navigate via echolocation. Another episode featured a man who could punch with more lethal force than a 30+MPH car crash. It's wild stuff, and though Heroes was a drama show, I'm sure enough of us are fans of Super Humans in general, so I'm positive most of you would enjoy it. Anyway, hope all is well here. :)--Riddler 01:52, 14 August 2010 (EDT) |

Does anyone still edit around here (except for good old Ryan)? I've just spent half an hour browsing through the articles and discussions on this site out of boredom, and I've been feeling small blasts of nostalgia and a lingering sadness that Heroes has forever ended and, really, so has our little community of Heroes Wiki editors. The Event Wiki just doesn't seem to have picked up the same momentum that we had around here. Anyway, this is also a sort of shout-out to all those Heroes Wiki editors I've met and worked with throughout the years, since I never really said a proper thank-you. And hopefully, the next time a highly-anticipated superhero TV series premieres, I'll see you all again. --Radicell 03:05, 22 March 2011 (EDT) |

* *sniff* Hey, Radicell. Good to see you around. Yeah, I'm not sure why The Event Wiki hasn't taken off, and more specifically I'm not sure why Heroes Wiki fostered such a neat community. Sandubadear asked on Talk:Hachiro's ability about having a gif of Hachiro's ability being used to materialize Katana Girl (transform her into a physical person), and after I added some screenshots to the ability page Sandubadear told me on my talk page that the desire was really for a moving gif. As I am not comfortable making a moving gif for this ability, I asked Admin about making it, whether it was okay to do so here/elsewhere and if the wiki should have a policy on animated gifs in general for our documentation, etc., and noting that I saw some abilities animated like Tommy's in the new Tumblr blogs shown on the revised 9thwonders.com site. Admin pointed me to this community portal for my questions. |

** I agree, and I also do not make animated gifs. Should any more be created I would just suggest that they try to limit to the fewest number of frames necessary to accurately demonstrate the idea in question. (Admin (talk) 20:46, 9 November 2015 (EST)) |

** Thanks, hopefully someone else will volunteer to help Sandubadear out. Visions of Earth needs help!
Thank you! :) --Leckie -- Talk 19:04, 26 March 2010 (EDT)
Few things that can be improved
Ok, first off, Great wiki, but i would improve a few things.
On the Character pages, we have (example)
Claire Bennett: Claire is daughter of Nathan, but adopted daughter of Noah. She can regenerate and blah blah blah
About Claire
She lived in Texas as a cheerleader...
Show History
In Season 1 Claire discovered her ability, ran away from sylar and gets held hostage by Ted, blah blah
In Season 2 Claire moves to Costa Verde and falls for West, blah
Then it goes
In Season 3 episode 1, claire does this
In Season 3 episode 2, we see claire for a slit second drinking tea
In Season 3 episode 3, claire does this and this ....
And finally my second idea.
Maybe we could have some articles on "Character X & Character Y History" Documenting the relationship between two different characters in the show history, so when two characters who do not normally meet (like Ando and Noah) there could be one article to tell us the relation and previous meeting of these characters.
This would need a LOT of new articles (~30 characters in Heros, meaning we would have 900 new articles) But when we are watching season 5 (hoping there will be a season 5) we can instantly track previous characters interactions even if they barely met before. Mr Hiro 21:01, 10 April 2010 (EDT)
EDIT: Damn it, no sooner have i finished complaining about Heroes wiki have i noticed Heroes wiki has already changed, looks like my first idea is already being implemented before i can even complain about it. Never mind, however i would still like to push my second idea. Mr Hiro 21:08, 10 April 2010 (EDT)
- So long as we don't append silly "Sythan" style names to the pages (but rather something like Connection:Nathan Petrelli and Sylar), I think this could be a really good idea. Lots of Season One's plot points revolved around stuff like this. --Ricard Desi 21:15, 10 April 2010 (EDT)
- How would that be different from the content in Portal:Relationships?--MiamiVolts (talk) 23:06, 10 April 2010 (EDT)
- It wouldn't be a fan creation, first of all. --Boom D 17 01:19, 11 April 2010 (EDT)
- The only thing that's really stopping the relationships being a canon analysis is the names that we've given them. If they were renamed to Relationship:Hiro and Charlie for example, all the information and interactions come from canon sources and is canon. --mc_hammark 08:29, 11 April 2010 (EDT)
- So we're basically looking at a massive move from all the corny fan creation names to "Connection/Relationship:X and Y", right?--BOYCOOL -- THE END IS NIGH. 09:32, 11 April 2010 (EDT)
- I simply don't think such articles are necessary. --Radicell 09:48, 11 April 2010 (EDT)

- I agree that we don't need to duplicate/change the articles. I think the Relationship articles are okay as they are. I've grown to like having them as fan creations.--MiamiVolts (talk) 11:28, 11 April 2010 (EDT)
- I'm also not a fan of adding 900 new articles that need to be maintained when we have a hard enough time maintaining the articles we already have in existence. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 16:37, 11 April 2010 (EDT)
- That's the thing though, if it were to be done, it be a waste of memory. The relationships already exist and use only canon information. If we created these articles, the only reason they'd be canon and not fan creations is the name. As soon as we slap a fan made name on anything it becomes a fan creation. --mc_hammark 16:45, 11 April 2010 (EDT)

- This is my first time posting something here so please bear with me: I have a minor alteration request that I would like to run by the community and that is changing the character box on the right side where it says known ability to just ability because I find it a bit confusing for people we know have an ability, we just don't know what it is so none is posted, to me implying they don't have one. For the change if the character isn't an evolved human we put none and if he/she does but we don't know we put unknown Or, for example, Kaito's character bio we could put unk, see notes That's my two cents. -- Inblackestnight 23:57, 31 May 2010 (EDT)
The future is now
It's only just now occurred to me. Assuming Heroes gets picked up for a fifth (and almost certainly final) season, and if they're smart enough to fast forward through most of 2010, we'll actually get a look at the dreaded year 2011, when everything seems to go wrong. I wonder how they'll choose to address that? --Ricard Desi 12:25, 20 April 2010 (EDT)
- Well everything has been leading there since the beginning, so it would seem. Especially with Claire's most recent actions... --Skullman1392 23:49, 20 April 2010 (EDT)
Fans of The 4400
Did any of you watch this fantastic show that ran from 2004 to 2007? Since activity on Heroes Wiki has slowed dramatically, I've decided to spread my wings: I've taken over The 4400 Wiki as an administrator and I've been working on the site for a couple of weeks now. We're still in the very early stages, and very few articles have been written, so any help we can get is appreciated. Any fans of this show may contribute, although admittedly Wikia's interface takes a bit of getting used to. And to those who haven't watched this show, I strongly recommend you do. --Radicell 09:11, 6 May 2010 (EDT)

NBC 'Fan It' Program Begins May 17, New Ad Campaign
NBC will be starting a new affinity program later today, May 17, called "Fan It". I'm hoping that there might be something related to Heroes in the program, though I wouldn't place good odds on it. You can read about it on the NBCUMV website, at MediaWeek, or ThingFo. According to the press release, it will be "allowing visitors to earn points by watching videos, chatting about shows, and sharing content with friends. The program requires fans to sign up to participate at http://www.NBC.com/fanit, though they can do so using their existing Facebook, Twitter, MySpace or MyNBC accounts.
As people accumulate points, they will be able to redeem them for various prizes, such as access to a yet-to-premiere series, NBC merchandise and entries to sweepstakes. To execute the Fan It program, NBC has partnered with the social media tracking company ThingFo Inc."
In addition, NBC will promote its new lineup via Wonderwall, Windows Messenger, and various mobile and social media platforms."--MiamiVolts (talk) 00:05, 17 May 2010 (EDT)
Fall Line-up
Well, the Fall Preview is up at nbc.com. It looks like Heroes lost to a show called The Event, that's trying really hard to be some kind of Lost/Flashforward show... gotta be honest, looking at the line-up, I think NBC is going to get flattened this year. --Ricard Desi 09:36, 17 May 2010 (EDT)
- Yeah, nothing looks particularly interesting other than Chuck. What could happen is, if none of these new shows get much viewings, NBC might bring back Heroes, or give them a few years out then bring them back, because although the fan base is small, it is a solid fan base. --mc_hammark 10:47, 17 May 2010 (EDT)
Keeping the Graphic Novels going.
NBC wants to know whether they should keep the graphic novels going. They've got a thread going on 9th Wonders, so I suggest we all head over there and let them know that we are still wanting the GNs. Thanks guys.--mc_hammark 06:51, 19 May 2010 (EDT)
Season 4 DVD
Is there? I'd love to know what was cut from Season 4.

- Me too, I really hope there is. I also wanna know what they thought wasn't good enough for the episodes! :L (God I'm sadistic) --Leckie -- Talk 07:11, 14 June 2010 (EDT)
Tim Kring launches new ARG with Nokia
It's called the Conspiracy for Good, and you can find out more info. about it including how to sign up at http://www.nokia.com/press/press-releases/showpressrelease?newsid=1426084 and http://www.conspiracyforgood.com/. It looks like it's not Heroes-related, but I thought it worth mentioning. It begins Mid-July 2010.--MiamiVolts (talk) 10:48, 27 June 2010 (EDT)
Heroes Once Again
Those who are interested can join the google group also add Claire and Zach as a friend and write comments :) -- Jan Rodrigo (talk) (contributions) 07:38, 21 July 2010 (EDT)
Past tense
Now that Heroes has ended, should we put articles into past tense? Episodes articles should stay present tense for the plots, as these should be read as though the reader is describing the show as it happens. For character articles, I think it would be best if they were all in past tense, but for crew and actor articles, they should all be in past tense as is is unlikely than many of us will be checking up one every one of there careers. But before I do anything I want to see what others say. --mc_hammark 18:54, 6 August 2010 (EDT)
- No, I don't think so. The articles are written from the perspective of happening at the moment. Think of it as watching it on the DVD, if needed. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 17:47, 17 August 2010 (EDT)
Hey guys, it's been a while. Figured I'd pop in and give you all a heads up about a show I just discovered that's caught my interest. :)--Riddler 01:52, 14 August 2010 (EDT)
Kaito Nakamura does have an abillity.
I was watching the bonus dvd from season 2 and i noticed something in the deleted scenes.
He hase the abillity to see the variables of any situation and predict the outcome.
Ando: Like a computer? Kaito: I'm faster. How do you think i've done so well in the stock market?
--StephanOtter 15:53, 5 November 2010
- This has been mentioned several times, it has also been noted in the Notes section on Kaito's page. Also... since it was only shown in a deleted scene it is not official, meaning we can't class it as his ability, unfortunately. --Leckie -- Talk 14:09, 5 November 2010 (EDT)
I miss you guys
--Radicell 03:05, 22 March 2011 (EDT)
- *sniff* Hey, Radicell. Good to see you around. Yeah, I'm not sure why The Event Wiki hasn't taken off, and more specifically I'm not sure why Heroes Wiki fostered such a neat community. I've been tangentially part of a few other wiki communities -- for shows I've enjoyed more -- and I never felt the same kind of camaraderie as I felt on HW. It's pretty cool to be part of something successful and quality like this site, and I miss it too. :) Ah, such is life... -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 11:07, 22 March 2011 (EDT)
Alphas
I know very few people are going to read this, but for the ones who do, there's a new show airing on Syfy called Alphas that has grabbed my attention. It seems similar to Heroes in many respects and I've been impressed by the pilot episode. Just a note for anyone who's interested: there's an Alphas Wiki that looks like it'd be fun to edit. --Radicell 23:13, 15 July 2011 (EDT)
- Cool, thanks! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:27, 16 July 2011 (EDT)
This made me smile
So I was reading this interview with Rockstar Games' founder, Dan Houser. Look at the last question on the last page.
It's funny. I spoke with Tim Kring, the creator of the TV show Heroes, earlier this year, and even that show had so much mythology going on he said that the writers lost track. But thankfully, the fans were so obsessive they had basically put together a wiki, and the writers were pulling information from that.
DH: We do the same. I would be very surprised if anyone working on a long running thing like this that is popular these days isn't. The wiki is pretty good. For some of the older games, where I just want to remember a particular person's name or a particular brand or something, it's probably in our records, but some of the details stuff from the wiki is amazing and we love it.
--Radicell 17:55, 8 January 2012 (EST)
- That's great! Thanks, Radicell! Here's a tweet on the original interview. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 00:11, 10 January 2012 (EST)
Binge
Hey, everybody. The websites TV Binges & Primatech Files are going to do a Heroes binge on September 6 from 1:00 to 9:00 pm. They will be watching the episodes Genesis, Company Man, Five Years Gone, How to Stop an Exploding Man, Four Months Later..., 1961, and Brave New World. (What a great list!) It'll be a neat fan community event on Twitter. Details can be found at this link. Just thought I'd pass this along! :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:55, 19 August 2015 (EDT)
Animated Gifs and 9thwonders.com
The wiki has had a category for Animations for a while, but we use them only sparingly in articles (most animations don't work inside a gallery). Hopefully, if this is allowed, someone else can help Sandubadear out.--MiamiVolts (talk) 17:12, 9 November 2015 (EST)
- Used sparingly, it's allowed, especially for something like showing how an ability's special effect is displayed. I can't help with making the animation though. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 19:13, 9 November 2015 (EST)
- I agree, and I also do not make animated gifs. Should any more be created I would just suggest that they try to limit to the fewest number of frames necessary to accurately demonstrate the idea in question. (Admin (talk) 20:46, 9 November 2015 (EST))
- Thanks, hopefully someone else will volunteer to help Sandubadear out. Regarding the blogs, for reference, there is the NBC Heroes Reborn Tumblr blog (nbcheroes.tumblr.com)(add this to links?), and there is the NBC 9thwonders Tumblr blog (nbc9thwonders.tumblr.com), which redirects to 9thwonders.com and appears to be a blog with posts from different blogs. The example I noted above of showing Tommy's ability appears to be an official reblog at 9thwonders.com/post/126125489081 (lower right animation) of another user's blog post: endiness.tumblr.com/post/123935456172.--MiamiVolts (talk) 01:06, 10 November 2015 (EST)
