Candice Willmer is an evolved human who works for the Company and can cast illusions. Her given name is Betty; her original surname has not been revealed.

After Matt Parkman and Ted Sprague were recaptured by the Company at the Bennet house, Candice observed a sedated Matt Parkman at Primatech Paper Co. Candice became Mr. Bennet's new partner, and together they helped Isaac cover up his shooting of Simone, using Candice's power of illusion. Candice then helped Thompson discover that Mr. Bennet was hiding things from the Company and that he was involved in Claire's disappearance.

Later, Candice impersonated Jessica Sanders to help Mr. Linderman kidnap Micah so he could alter the results of the congressional election in favor or Nathan Petrelli. After the election, Niki Sanders found Candice in the Kirby Plaza building; Candice was still impersonating Jessica, but Niki's alternate personality revealed the deception, and Niki knocked Candice unconscious. This led to Candice's illusion dissolving, and Niki was able to go help her husband and son escape the building.

Back when Candice was in high school, she was known as Betty and was belittled by many for being obese, gothic and unpopular. Betty was very depressed about her life until she realized she had the power to make people see what she wants them to see. She used her ability to teach a bully a lesson and to exact revenge on those who picked on her friend and may have accidentally caused his death. She then decided to leave both the school and her hometown for good. Deciding that from then on people would see her as she wanted to be seen, she changed her appearance and decided on a new name--Candice.

Powers

Candice has the power of illusion. She is able to alter how people perceive reality around her. She can use this to "become" other people or even things and affect how they see the world.

Notes

• Candice is on the list.
• The NBC episode description lists the character as "Candice Wilmer". Her name also appeared onscreen as "Candice" (The Hard Part). On the list, her name is spelled "Candace Willmer".
• In a possible future timeline, Candice was killed by Sylar, who used her ability to impersonate President Nathan Petrelli.
• Although Candice appears as an attractive Caucasian woman in her mid-twenties, some of her comments suggest that in her true form, she is overweight and far less attractive (Landslide). The "Betty" series of graphic novels has confirmed that implication, showing her to be an overweight teenage girl with severe acne (Betty, Part 4).
• When knocked unconscious while impersonating Jessica, Candice reverted to the form in which she is normally seen. There are hints in an interview that she may have maintained the illusion despite being knocked unconscious or that she was still barely conscious after being punched by Niki.
