Character History
Brave New World
In Yanqing, China, the ex-con crosses an icy landscape, chained by the wrist to a 50-pound weight. He drags the weight behind him until he sees his pursuers near him. As they close in on him, he is faced with a choice. The man reaches into his belt and pulls out a crude blade. He uses the blade to amputate his hand, which falls to the ice along with his shackle. Just in time, the fugitive flies to the sky, screaming in agony. until he reaches a speed so high that he smashes through the sound barrier and creates a circle of vapor billowing behind him.
At an "Evos Anonymous" group, the man sits with other evos, cradling the stump where his hand used to be, quiet for most of the meeting. Later, Luke and Joanne Collins shoot the Chinese man, along with all the other evos present.
June 13th, Part One
The Chinese man flies into the Odessa Unity Summit on June 13th, 2014. He lands amidst a crowd, looks around, and grins.
Heroes Evolutions
Brave New World
In the eBook Brave New World, the man attends the evo support group in Chicago. Since Tommy doesn't know anybody's name, he decides to give them all nicknames. Tommy calls the ex-con "Chinese Guy".
Evolved Human Abilities
The Chinese man demonstrated his ability to fly once. Though he wasn't able to fly while shackled to a 50-pound weight, he was easily able to reach supersonic speeds as soon as he was loosed of his fetters. He was able to break the sound barrier, even while experiencing intense pain.
Notes
- In the credits of Brave New World and Odessa he is credited as "Chinese Flying Man".
