Isaac Mendez created a series of eight prophetic paintings. The first in the series depicts Kaito Nakamura's death by Adam Monroe and the last depicted Mr. Bennet's death.
About
Lizards
When Noah Bennet sees the news of Kaito Nakamura's death, he tells Sandra Bennet he knew this would happen. Noah shows her one of the series of eight that accurately depicts Kaito's death. He says that the whereabouts of the remaining seven is not known.
Kindred
Mohinder Suresh, in the new laboratory set up in Isaac's loft, calls Noah while looking for the other paintings in the series. Knowing he has little time before Bob comes back, his search is frenzied until he finds a painting marked 8/8. He is so shocked that he cannot describe it, but sends a picture of it to Noah. The painting depicts Noah's death.
The Line
After interrogating Ivan, Noah and the Haitian find the remainder of the paintings in a warehouse in Odessa, Ukraine.
Out of Time
After Noah and the Haitian record the images, they destroy the paintings in the warehouse.
Cautionary Tales
Noah shows Sandra the last image (#8) in the series of eight that depicts him getting shot in the glasses. When Mohinder points the gun at Noah, image #7 of him holding the gun flashes before Noah. However that image is not tied directly to #8 because Noah is not shot by Mohinder immediately afterward. It is not until after the tradeoff between Claire and Elle when Mohinder shoots him in the glasses to prevent him from killing Bob. The paintings all occur with this final piece, however because Claire's blood is used on Noah, he regenerates and survives the prophecy.
Notes
- In the episode commentary for The Line, Adam Armus and Kay Foster refer to #7 as "Mohinder with a gun".
- According to Greg Beeman's blog, the painting of Peter at the window of the CDC building was painted by Tim Sale after the scene was shot. However, the scene in which the painting is first shown in the Odessa warehouse was shot before Tim had a chance to complete the art. To make this possible, a canvas was painted with green screen paint, and the visual effects guys "tracked in Tim's painting over the green canvas."
