Theory guidelines
On all of the theory pages there are guidelines at the bottom... I'm told instead of <br> we should be using <br />. So can you change the guidelines at the bottom of the theory pages to reflect this? Also, a note in there about using correct punctuation could be a good idea - a lot of theories are written without capital letters or full stops. Thanks, Friskymuffin - (talk) 14:50, 4 July 2008 (EDT)
- I'll fix the <br /> reference. The capitalization is definitely something to be corrected. The punctuation at the end of the word "None" for instance isn't needed because it's not actually a sentence. (Admin 15:03, 4 July 2008 (EDT))
- I guess I'm just a perfectionist :P thanks! -- Friskymuffin - (talk) 15:07, 4 July 2008 (EDT)
Indents on talk pages
Hey, on my talk page here I've used the standard format of using an asterisk for each reply, but instead of making an indent it seems to have added a bullet point each time. Any reason why this is happening? Thanks in advance, Friskymuffin - (talk) 19:27, 6 July 2008 (EDT)
- Asterisks create bullets. If you want an indent, use colons (:). (Admin 19:47, 6 July 2008 (EDT))
- I thought that for every reply, if you use an asterisk it will indent the reply and then add a bullet point, as it seems to be on every other talk page? And like it has here? -- Friskymuffin - (talk) 19:52, 6 July 2008 (EDT)
- A double asterisk (**) should make one bullet and one indent, though (provided a single asterisk was used for prior line). Similarly, a triple asterisk should make one bullet and two indents (and so on). I think you're having trouble with that cause of the background you're applying. Multiple asterisk don't work inside tables.--MiamiVolts (talk) 19:56, 6 July 2008 (EDT)
- I'm sure it's worked before... but that could be the reason. Thanks Miami! -- Friskymuffin - (talk) 20:03, 6 July 2008 (EDT)

New show: Gemini Division
According to NBC UMV, Rosario Dawson and Justin Hartley will co-star in a new web-only original series called Gemini Division and the show will begin in August. The article also talks a little about the Comi-con, you might want to read it just for that reason alone. Show detail is in an earlier UMV release. The plot sounds eerily familiar, but it's got a couple of good stars... What do you think?--MiamiVolts (talk) 05:24, 7 July 2008 (EDT)
- It premieres August 18, 2008 on NBC.com.--MiamiVolts (talk) 15:34, 4 August 2008 (EDT)
- You can now watch the first two webisodes at http://www.geminidivision.com/video/episodes/, but there's not much to it yet. Two webisodes are being released weekly.--MiamiVolts (talk) 01:54, 21 August 2008 (EDT)
Namespaces
Is there any way to view all the pages in a given namespace, say all the pages and talk pages in the namespace "Interview"? --SacValleyDweller (talk) 19:44, 7 July 2008 (EDT)
- Yeah, you can do so with DPL. Try: {{#dpl:|namespace=Interview}}--MiamiVolts (talk) 21:52, 7 July 2008 (EDT)
- Don't use DPL for it unless it has to be embedded. Use Special:Allpages and select the namespace. DPL slows pages down so much it should be used very sparingly. (Admin 22:57, 7 July 2008 (EDT))
Fringe Prequel by DC Comics
DC Comics is doing a six-issue hardcover prequel for FOX's upcoming Fringe series. Issue #1 is to be released August 27, 2008 (a web version is not planned...). Interviews
- Hey, I've spoken to Ryangibsonstewart and he said it would be fine for me to try and get us a few more interviews. He said I should speak to you first to ask how I should ask them ect., so what do you think? . --Skywalkerrbf 10:17, 13 July 2008 (EDT)
- I'm not sure how to get in contact with them exactly. He may have referred you to me just so I could make sure you knew that when you do contact people for interviews when you mention Heroes Wiki you say that you're a contributor to Heroes Wiki rather than working on behalf of Heroes Wiki for instance. With a community driven site like this isn't not really possible for a single person to officially act on behalf of the whole site and I just want it to be clear that people are basically freelance volunteers rather than say paid members of an organization (though no one gets paid for this site). (Admin 10:24, 13 July 2008 (EDT))
- Sorry yer I ment in which manner should I get in contact with them not how, I have found some contact details already. So if I say 'Hi I am a contributor of heroes wiki and was wondering if it was posible for you to take part in a interview whitch will be posted on the site' then that would be ok? --Skywalkerrbf 10:58, 13 July 2008 (EDT)
- Yeah, that kind of wording sounds just fine! :) (Admin 12:08, 13 July 2008 (EDT))
- Hey I duno if you noticed but I already have three actors agreeing to interviews! --Skywalkerrbf 17:53, 14 July 2008 (EDT)
- That's great news! :) (Admin 16:31, 15 July 2008 (EDT))
- ok I will make a page now and rereveal the 6!!! actors that I have for defo. I also have one mayby and one rejection but 6 yeses in 3 days is pretty good! --Skywalkerrbf 17:04, 15 July 2008 (EDT)
- Yer I realy didn't think sorry, but if people do come up with enything I didn't cover then they should feel free to sumbit them. And I would never do it for enyone higher than a guest star. Sorry again. --Skywalkerrbf 17:34, 15 July 2008 (EDT)
- Oh, it's not a problem... it's your interview afterall! :) I'm just offering some suggestions to help make them even better. I think it's great that you were able to get interviews with them. :) (Admin 17:38, 15 July 2008 (EDT))
- Yer feel free to add eny comments you want, I don't want to do this wrong! I have now sent off 5 sets of questions and I hope that they will return soon. I just wish I had stated earlyer so I could of filled the gap between the seasons better. Also i think Ryan needs a award or somthing, he is easy to talk to and he knows a lot.--Skywalkerrbf 18:34, 15 July 2008 (EDT)

- Yes a defently am going to go into detail with my two major interviews, but with guest stars theres only so mutch oyu can ask them. If you can think of eny more questions for either of them then both of them said that it would be alright to send some more eny time. --Skywalkerrbf 15:30, 16 July 2008 (EDT)
- That's great. I think one of the keys is to spread them out (not doing too many at once) and giving people time to submit questions. When there aren't too many at once I can go promote them more easily on sites like 9thwonders.com. (Admin 15:40, 16 July 2008 (EDT))
- Yer from now on that is what I will do. I have sent questions to three more people but that is it. I think that they will spread right up to the start as some people will take weeks to respond and weeks again to reply to the questions, I was lucky finding two people who both agreed striaght away. btw why is the West interview not up at the top? --Skywalkerrbf 16:03, 16 July 2008 (EDT)
- I only keep notices at the top for about two weeks at most. Since it appears on every page I use it sparingly and only to get news out quickly. (Admin 16:05, 16 July 2008 (EDT))

- O, ok. I have only given a week as I am going on holiday fairly soon and wanted it done before hand. Also do you have a template for porfiles? I am not good at stuff like that and I don't want to steal someone elses. --Skywalkerrbf 16:13, 16 July 2008 (EDT)
- I know have interviews with Brian Prescott and Kiko Ellsworth. On the 23rd when the questionsfor Shailm have been surgested, can you put both of thease up please? I am goin got try post them togther as they are both to do with the webisodes, thanks. --Skywalkerrbf 17:06, 17 July 2008 (EDT)
- Make that Mark Steger too please. :) --Skywalkerrbf 05:46, 18 July 2008 (EDT)
- Sure. That'll be neat, interviews with all the characters in Going Postal so far. :) (Admin 09:28, 18 July 2008 (EDT))
- Thanks :). I also have a interview with Roberto Sanchez but I don't feel he is important enough to go on the top though, I am still giving people to the 24th to sumbit questions though. --Skywalkerrbf 11:44, 18 July 2008 (EDT)

Spelling
Yer sorry it is realy bad. Where is the spell checker on firefox?--Skywalkerrbf 13:43, 18 July 2008 (EDT)
- It's in the preferences somewhere. I'm not sure where it will be for you or if it's even turned on or off right now. My version of Firefox is a bit different than other people's. (Admin 13:46, 18 July 2008 (EDT))
Interivews 2
Sorry was that page a created a spoiler? I wasn't sure or not, sos. --Skywalkerrbf 12:30, 21 July 2008 (EDT)
- No, it was just the page you blanked when you accidentally put the interview info on the main page instead of the discussion. I saw the page was blanked once you moved it over to the discussion page and just deleted the empty page. (Admin 12:33, 21 July 2008 (EDT))
- O ok thanks :) in that case I need Interview:Jordan Levy delting too, sorry for doing it twice I feel well stupid lol.--Skywalkerrbf 12:36, 21 July 2008 (EDT)
Advertising Interviews
As some users have asked me to space out the interviews, I have made the page User:Skywalkerrbf/schedule so you know when to put each interview at the top, if its alright with you that is. --Skywalkerrbf 12:36, 21 July 2008 (EDT)
- I am sending the Shalim Ortiz questions tomorrow morning so the banner can be updated when eber and replaced with Roberto Sanchez for a few days, if htats alright with you. --Skywalkerrbf 17:18, 21 July 2008 (EDT)
- Thanks. The interviews are coming too closely together, so I'm only going to include at the top interviews with the most high profile cast/crew. (Ideally interviews should each be at least two weeks apart, if not more. Admin 00:03, 22 July 2008 (EDT))
- O I was making htem 5 days apart. I am trying to lead them up to September 22nd, the start of season 3, as after that time I will have loads of school work. I feel pretty stupid atm asking people if it is ok to send the quesiotns 2 months from now lol. --Skywalkerrbf 05:56, 22 July 2008 (EDT)

Digg 2
A few of Skywalkerrbf's interviews and RGS's new two interviews need Digg links. Can you still take care of those, Admin?--MiamiVolts (talk) 13:04, 27 July 2008 (EDT)
- Bump...--MiamiVolts (talk) 11:55, 28 July 2008 (EDT)

AFD's
Is there any way you can get on cleaning out Category:Articles for Deletion? I've had User:SacValleyDweller/HeroesFaveGN in there for three months, Image:3 Amigos.jpg has been in there for 5 months, and Image:Peter's eye.jpg for a whopping 8.5 months. It's starting to bug me. --SacValleyDweller (talk) 01:37, 3 August 2008 (EDT)
- Thanks for the heads up. I took care of the ones you requested and a few others that were straightforward. I'll be cleaning out some more of the images for deletion, too, when I have a chance. (Admin 11:41, 3 August 2008 (EDT))
- Thanks for taking care of those Admin. I usually try to stay on top of deleting at least the AFDed user pages, but I haven't been able to even log on every day this summer, let alone patrol edits or keep up with AFDs. I'm sure much of that will change in about a week or so... -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:05, 3 August 2008 (EDT)
Autofinance
Autofinance is using his/her userpage and talk page to advertising auto-financing programs. Is that okay here?--MiamiVolts (talk) 10:43, 8 August 2008 (EDT)
- No, it's not. I had a feeling it was a spam account when I saw it. I'll give them one more chance to edit constructively and then they're getting blocked. (Admin 11:30, 8 August 2008 (EDT))
- It looks like Autofinance is back. Check out User:Cardollarsonline and his/her related User talk:Cardollarsonline.--MiamiVolts (talk) 03:42, 10 September 2008 (EDT)
Spoilers on theory pages
My memory is a little rusty... Does this qualify as a spoiler? I'm guessing you've seen this already which is why I'm asking you. Though sorry if you haven't seen it and it is true! If it's any consolation I didn't want to find out. -- Friskymuffin - (talk) 13:35, 10 August 2008 (EDT)
Interview with Jimmy Jean-Louis
I have a interview with Jimmy Jean-Louis, would you mind advertising it along the top? He wants to do it soon and I don't want to agruge with him, I love him in the show. :) --Skywalkerrbf 05:56, 20 August 2008 (EDT)
- I took care of it for you. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 13:20, 20 August 2008 (EDT)
- Thanks, I didn't realise you could edit it too. --Skywalkerrbf 13:40, 20 August 2008 (EDT)
- No problem. Any sysop can edit any MediaWiki page. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 13:53, 20 August 2008 (EDT)
Request
I know this is a strange thing to ask, but is there anyway Heroes Wiki could get the free trile of IMDb pro? You have to enter credit card details which I don't have. If we got it then I would be able to open up our interviews to just about everybody. Thanks. --Skywalkerrbf 09:29, 21 August 2008 (EDT)
A question
Hi, Admin. I'm Sam McPherson. We talked a bit on Lostpedia awhile back. I've been lurking on HeroesWiki for quite a while, and I so far like the site. The reason it took me all this time to register is because I was a little weary of the way your character articles here on the wiki are set up. Maybe it's just because I'm used to it, but I think that arranging the articles by the medium they appeared in is confusing, and hard to follow. Perhaps if you arranged them into chronological order, it would be easier to follow? Just a suggestion. I'm not trying to turn you into Lostpedia, but I think it would be a better organization sort of thing. Please, let me know what you think. --Sam McPherson 17:58, 23 August 2008 (EDT)
- Don't know if you saw this, just making sure. --Sam McPherson 20:06, 23 August 2008 (EDT)
- I think your question, Sam, was addressed somewhere else (cant think of where off the top of my head) and I think the rational for the way do it is two fold: One, It's easier to see if/when the episodic/GN/webisodic updates have been done; Two, it helps to limit spoiler exposure for non-US viewers who use this site and watch the show at their own country's chosen pace. --SacValleyDweller (talk) 20:21, 23 August 2008 (EDT)
- Plus it's not always possible to establish an exact chronology between two episodes or graphic novels (especially so in a series involving heavy time travel), so any in-world chronological ordering would end up with speculation. When we first started with per-episode summaries it was natural to just order them by when the episode/graphic novel was released so that's the way it's always been done. The problem is that you won't be able to please everyone using one method over the other and since the current way generally makes things easier we do it that way. (Admin 20:27, 23 August 2008 (EDT))

Multiple accounts?
I've been patrolling the huge amount of edits of all these user profiles, and I was wondering if they're all on the same IP address. It appears that they're all family and friends, but I think it's all originating from one IP source and they're just making user accounts for all their family members. It's the Gitelmans, Espinals, Castles and Grullons.--Bob (talk) 18:05, 23 August 2008 (EDT)
- I noticed this too, do you think they might think its a role playing site? --Skywalkerrbf 18:07, 23 August 2008 (EDT)
- Yes, it's all from a single IP registering with a single email address. There are 15 accounts I believe. There's no explicit rule that says you cannot have all those accounts, however I'm not going to allow it to continue without an explanation. (Admin 18:25, 23 August 2008 (EDT))
- There isn't a rule? Why can we block an IP address for creating multiple accounts then? Anyway, glad the situation is being dealt with.--Bob (talk) 18:40, 23 August 2008 (EDT)
- To be honest, it's never really come up before on this scale. Basically there's no rule that says you can't have a couple accounts as long as you're not using them to abuse anything... but at the same time there's no need for multiple accounts. If there's a legitimate need for 15 accounts then it's ok, but I personally doubt there's ever a legitimate need for that many. (Admin 18:42, 23 August 2008 (EDT))
- Fifteen people living in one household is about the only thing that comes to mind. Either way, an explanation would be nice. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 19:12, 23 August 2008 (EDT)

- I think they're back at it again. See User:Jon Energy. He/she has uploaded the same pictures that the previous multiple accounts have uploaded before, and Jon Energy has been editing only his and another person's user account. --Bob (talk) 14:26, 3 October 2008 (EDT)

Interviews
Would you rather me post the interviews when I get them back or say once a week? If a do them once a week they should last for about a year. --Skywalkerrbf 08:28, 24 August 2008 (EDT)

- And, of course, I'm majorly hyped. How amazing is this?!?! I've emailed my NBC contact to get some clarification, but this is an absolutely incredible opportunity for us as a site to be recognized. I'm going crazy right here, now. :)-- Lost Soul talk contribs 04:07, 28 August 2008 (EDT)
- I got this email too. --Skywalkerrbf 05:44, 28 August 2008 (EDT)

Conference call points
Yes when I ask people for interviews I cal my self a member of Heroes Wiki, but I will use contributor from now on. I will make sure I do this in the call as well. Thanks. --Skywalkerrbf 03:10, 29 August 2008 (EDT)
Merlin trailer
The first trailer for the BBC (Fall '08)/NBC (Spring '09) Merlin series has been released. Looks pretty good. You can watch it here.--MiamiVolts (talk) 08:28, 29 August 2008 (EDT)

Autosigs on Talk:Main Page
For some reason, the autosig templates on Talk:Main Page aren't including the template, they're simply linking to the sig page. Odd. Check it out. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 10:49, 15 September 2008 (EDT)
- It's because of that additional ArchiveLinks template at the top. The page is now exceeding the transclusion limit I think. That ArchiveLinks template has never worked right. I won't use it and I'd be happy if it went away completely. (Admin 11:05, 15 September 2008 (EDT))
- Agree. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 13:18, 15 September 2008 (EDT)
Sad to see
Sad to see your other wikis not doing so well, I am trying to join the BionicWiki to try clean it up a bit so it will be able to float by its self, are you going to keep it going?--Skywalkerrbf 17:28, 18 September 2008 (EDT)
- I'll keep it up for now, but if the series doesn't come back to some other network then considering its short run it might go away eventually. (Admin 18:14, 18 September 2008 (EDT))
- I've done a bit of a re-work just now, its the stubs which are the real problem. How meny views does it get atm?--Skywalkerrbf 18:16, 18 September 2008 (EDT)
Recording...
You said you were recording the Premiere show... is there any way you could send me the Fan segment? If you can, send from where Ali Larter starts the segment to the end of it? =] --Riddler 23:46, 22 September 2008 (EDT)
- NBC has it online here. (Admin 00:21, 24 September 2008 (EDT))
- I can't rip that. I want a copy for myself, y'know?--Riddler 17:28, 26 September 2008 (EDT)
- For some reason, when I load that page, or if I go through the Heroes page and click on this link, it just shows me the peacock with a flicker every 4 seconds or so. No video whatsoever. Do you know if NBC is blocking Linux viewers? I'm running the most up-to-date Firefox, no adblocks or script blocks on the page.--Bob (talk) 17:55, 26 September 2008 (EDT)
- I watched it using Firefox 2.0.0.16 on Linux just fine, though I did have to disable Adblock for it to load properly. (Admin 17:57, 26 September 2008 (EDT))
- Hm, I'm using 3.0.3. Maybe that's why. I did disable ABP and NoScript on the page. I actually cannot watch any of the episodes for Heroes, but I can watch the clips, like the writer interviews.--Bob (talk) 18:30, 26 September 2008 (EDT)
- ...So... any help, please?--Riddler 21:21, 26 September 2008 (EDT)

Re: Peter-Future Peter abilities
You gave the reason for removal of the abilities as:
"No evidence Peter would be exposed to any abilities from Future Peter other than his power mimicry."
But, we're putting Sylar's powers he hasn't displayed on the list, shouldn't it stand to reason that we should put Future Peter's powers there too? The idea that his power wouldn't absorb Future Peter's power is only based on assumptions (eg - it's the same person).
It also seems that the list is being used for powers he was exposed to, not whether he obtained them (eg - the Daphne discussion with the Haitian being present). --Stevehim 09:28, September 30, 2008 (EDT)
- Hi, Stevehim. First off, when you add to discussion pages please sign your messages using ~~~~ at the end that way everyone can tell who you are. :) Ok, now onto business. There are some weird implications to him being able to mimic abilities from his future self, so it's a road I'm not so sure that the writers intend to follow. I think rather than muddying things up between Peter and Future Peter that we'd be better off excluding powers from Future Peter until such time that we actually see him mimic an ability he only was exposed to by Future Peter. Until then I think it's reasonable that the only ability he'd even be exposed to by Future Peter is his ability mimicry. Sylar is different than Peter in that he actually has multiple abilities now versus Peter who has a single ability (to mimic the abilities of others). I suppose it can be a tricky distinction. In any event, if there's not a discussion on whether Future Peter's powers should be included, feel free to start it on Template talk:Peterexposed. If there's eventually consensus that Future Peter's powers should be included, then we can add them. (Admin 09:38, 30 September 2008 (EDT))
- Hello. :) Fair enough on the Peter/Future Peter front. I do want to say that while I see the difference between Sylar's and Peter's powers, I don't see how that leads to Peter only having one power. He doesn't lose the powers he's mimicked, so they can be said to be his (for instance, there's no evidence that if his mimicry was somehow taken away that he'd lose all his other powers, as his DNA has already reconfigured). Also, sorry about the absence of signature...I forget about half the time, but I will make a conscious effort to remember from now on. :) Stevehim 09:49, 30 September 2008 (EDT)
- It's stated that Sylar and Peter both change their DNA to gain new powers. Peter absorbs them "like a sponge" whereas Sylar uses his innate power to reconfigure his DNA. The mechanism might be different, but the overall effect appears to be the same. Since Peter can absorb Sylar's powers, there doesn't appear to be any reason why he couldn't absorb any from his future self. There's also the strange fact that Peter absorbed space-time manipulation from a future version of Hiro who no longer exists due to the timeline being erased, yet that didn't seem to create any paradoxes ;) Photolysis 09:54, 30 September 2008 (EDT)
- They're good points... make them on Template talk:Peterexposed where they can attract more discussion and if there's overall agreement then we can start adding them. The distinction between Peter's ability and Sylar's appears to be that Sylar is adding the abilities to himself (so his DNA would reflect those added abilities) whereas Peter's single ability allows him to mimic (like a chameleon) and dynamically express a given ability. Sylar has multiple abilities, Peter has a single ability. Like I said, it can be a tricky distinction to get sometimes. In any event, start a discussion on Template talk:Peterexposed and we'll see what results. (Admin 10:01, 30 September 2008 (EDT))

Escapees map
Hey again, I'm working on a page for the level 5 escpees, so I created a map for them just like the one for the 12 founders. The thing is, we've only seen 5 of them (not including Noah), and we know there are 2 more to come. The map I made (here - ignore the pictures of the 12 founders) only shows those 5.. My question is: how can I create a map that includes only 7 characters, with 2 of them being spoilers for now? Thanks, Obi-Dan Kenobi 14:11, 30 September 2008 (EDT)

- Hi there Admin, i just wanted to report that Mr. Linderman is on the supporting cast and on the minor cast. I don't know if this is a coincidence or if it needs to be there but i justed wanted to make a report of it. --Futurepeter 08:13, October 1, 2008 (EDT)
Visual Effects Interviews
If you look here you will see I have interviews with lots of visual effects guys, could you please advertise these interviews along the top as I am struggling for questions and I do not have the dvds, thanks.--Skywalkerrbf 17:03, 6 October 2008 (EDT)
Embedded Video
I just discovered that Heroes episodes are hosted on Hulu, and they could presumably be embedded in HeroesWiki pages. Is that something we would want to do? Or at least link to? --Ted C 10:55, 8 October 2008 (EDT)
- I think that would be an interesting idea. If we could embed the episode on the episode's article, that would be very interesting. (Admin 12:16, 8 October 2008 (EDT))
- The firewall at my office blocks Hulu, but I'll try to test this soon. --Ted C 13:58, 8 October 2008 (EDT)
- I stole some code from my blog and tried it, but it didn't work. It's apparently not supported by MediaWiki at this time, but an extension is being developed. Here's the relevant article. --Ted C 14:05, 8 October 2008 (EDT)
Since it looks like embedding isn't going to work in the short term, I've added links to the video to all of the Season 3 episode pages. I'm wondering, though, if we want to modify the episode template to include the link instead of dropping it at the bottom of the page. --Ted C 08:52, 17 October 2008 (EDT)
Futures problem
Hi. Sorry to bother you with this, but the futures pages are getting out of hand, and I wanted to ask for a consensus to merge the villains and exposed futures and simply make notes on the different timeline iterations, but wasn't sure if the consensus voting was something that needs to be speficially handled by administrators or not. As it stands right now, there are several problems. On the I Am Become Death page, the first summary note links to the exposed future, but all of the events from that episode are listed under the villains future. but all of the characters we saw in that episode are listed under the exposed future portal. To boot, we have no character pages for the people in Angela's dream, though the dream itself is listed as a villains future event. The Hiro trip is also listed there, but there's no apparent connection between the two (meaning we don't know that they were the same possible future) and it would mean Hiro was killed twice in the same timeline, which is paradoxical. I wouldn't mind doing all of the work to change things, but don't want to go ahead and do so without either a consensus or permission. Thanks. Stevehim 16:03, 8 October 2008 (EDT)
- Nope, there's nothing special about administrators when it comes to making decisions like this. :) Go ahead and bring up the problem on an appropriate Talk page and see what comes up. Good luck! (Admin 16:11, 8 October 2008 (EDT))
- Hi again. I called for a consensus check, and it currently stands at 8-0 in favor of combining the futures. I was wondering if I could maybe start combining things sometime around tomorrow afternoon, if things stand as they are now (and I'll bump it a few more times, or maybe even ask individuals wha they think, just to try and get more responses by then)? Normally I'd want to let it go awhile longer, but I was kinda hoping to get most of it done before Monday's episode to avoid both further confusion and excess work being created. If it's too soon, I fully understand, as it's only been up there for a few days, but if it's at all possible to start implementing changes, that would be great. Here's a page of a very general proposal of how the new merged page would look. I was hoping to get more input on different ways to approach it, but I think SacValleyDriver's edits make it look pretty good and understandable. Thanks. Stevehim 20:27, 10 October 2008 (EDT)
- With 8 in favor and no opposition so far I'd say go for it. It seems to have a good deal of support. (Admin 20:49, 10 October 2008 (EDT))

-If you look carefully, Sylar looked and walked into the camera when he said, "Peter its so nice to see you!", then looked in the side where Peter is standing...lolz its so obvious, but I can't see an article about it here...just wanna pass the message..lolz

Shanti Virus
If it's true that the Shanti Virus REMOVED all of Sylars abilities but telekinesis, why is future Gabriel able to access Isaac's precognitive painting and Ted's radioactive power? It don't see why he should have lost all his abilities, they were supressed by the virus clearly, but I can't see a reason for him still being unable to access them - it would not make sense at all that he could still use telekinesis. And just saying that he ''did'' say it, is not really convincing to me, tell me where ''exactly'' he says so and please give me a link to the interview stating the same point. --BloodyFox, 17:41 10. Oct 2008 (CEST)
- He is quoted in the episode as saying, "You see, I lost everything that made me special. Lost, but now found. There's a shopping list of abilities here, but I'm going to start with the best, and once I have yours". I don't think the dialogue was clear, however the writers clarified it in this interview. Search for the question by KCcat. They further addressed the confusion caused by his retention of telekinesis (and potentially other abilities) here (search for the question by Stephen David Warked). (Admin 11:49, 10 October 2008 (EDT))
- If the "vaccine" made from Claire's + Mohinder's blood didn't restore any powers beyond Intuitive_aptitude and Telekinesis, could taking Claire's power (done right after that quote you had) have allowed him to restore the rest? My younger sister just reminded me about the order of events there. GabrielPetrelli 18:16, 13 October 2008 (EDT)
- That's entirely possible. They said we'd learn more about the effects of his first death a few episodes from now, so maybe it will discuss him recovering his abilities. Or it may be something he recovered (or reobtained) within the 4 years between the present and future. (Admin 19:51, 13 October 2008 (EDT))

Episode summary
Hey, I don't know if you'll be available to write the episode summary after the show airs, but the quality of the last two are terrible. It's not in order, the grammar's off, there's a lack of perspective. I would do it myself, but I won't be home until later.--Bob (talk) 15:32, 12 October 2008 (EDT)
- Out of curiosity, what's the policy on rewrites? I had planned on trying to write some (specifically the last 2), but it's a lot harder to fill in the gaps than to just do the entire thing. I know we routinely correct/delete each other's work, but it seems a bit overboard to start an enitre summary over as it gets rid of a sizeable portion of information (with no noticeable difference in places), and I didn't want to step on so many feet at once. ;) Stevehim 16:02, 12 October 2008 (EDT)
- I think in a case like that where the order is off, a rewrite would be most welcome.--MiamiVolts (talk) 19:53, 12 October 2008 (EDT)
Collapsible tables
Hi there. I was wondering if collapsible tables are working as well on the german site or not... I don't get them to work on a template here --Muffin84 02:23, 16 October 2008 (EDT)
- Muffin84, if you're an administrator on the German site, there are certain files that need to be set up on the German site for collapsible tables to work there. MediaWiki:Common.js is one of them, though if you copy the whole file you need to copy MediaWiki:Common.css as well so that nifty corners also works. Take care when copying cause those files will work globally on the German site once installed.--MiamiVolts (talk) 15:24, 16 October 2008 (EDT)
- Thx for your help, it works now. --Muffin84 05:42, 17 October 2008 (EDT)

OskarMaxa
I just stepped on my first vandal. Wheeeee! --Ted C 08:58, 17 October 2008 (EDT)
- :) One thing I recommend trying is issuing a warning on their talk page before blocking them. Some people come here and vandalize a little, but after being warned clean up their act and realize it won't be allowed to continue. What I do is issue the warning and then watch for two more acts of vandalism. After the first I KNOW they will see the new messages banner at the top so they'll probably check their talk page. After the second one I assume they've ignored them message and I go ahead and block them. (Admin 09:13, 17 October 2008 (EDT))
- Well, I guess I'm must evil. I would have had him flogged and keel-hauled, too, if that were an option. I suppose I could make the ban non-permanent and show mercy on his talk page. --Ted C 09:40, 17 October 2008 (EDT)
- Haha. Not a bad choice of punishments. :) You don't have to change it, you get complete discretion when it comes to dealing with vandals. Getting an admin who likes to lay down the law is a risk you take when you vandalize. :) (Admin 09:44, 17 October 2008 (EDT))
- I would have blocked OskarMaxa, too. I certainly believe in giving the benefit of the doubt, but clear vandalism is clear vandalism. References to Hitler, dirty language, and spamming are not worthy of assuming good faith, in my opinion. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 13:07, 17 October 2008 (EDT)
- Exactly, there aren't any clear cut rules (which I do prefer). Each admin is free to use his/her best judgment. I usually warn before blocking and encourage others to do the same, but in the end I stand by the decision each of you make since good judgment is one of the criteria before anyone becomes an administrator anyway. :) (Admin 13:53, 17 October 2008 (EDT))

MediaWiki:Linkstoimage
I'm trying to add a link to MediaWiki:Linkstoimage (or MediaWiki:Nolinkstoimage or even to MediaWiki:Imagelinks), but the link never actually appear on the image pages. They show up as though there are nowiki tags around the link:
See [[Special:Whatlinkshere/$1]] to find out which pages link to this file.
Ultimately, I want to have a link to Special:Whatlinkshere on the image page. I would prefer it down in the links section if possible, but I can't seem to get it there. Ugh. I remember a similar problem with MediaWiki:Unusedimagestext where it did the same thing (see MediaWiki talk:Unusedimagestext)...but a year later, it suddenly started working with no explanation. I don't know if that helps, or if you have any insights. I know you're busy, but if you get a second to figure this out, I'd be forever indebted! :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 10:04, 18 October 2008 (EDT)
Quick question
- I understand why the note regarding the oxygen depletion was removed from Claire's page (it's still sort of on two others, so we should probably remove it there as well...which I'll do pending your response :)), but is there somewhere that can be put, or rephrased in some way? I don't think it's clear that the oxygen was actually gone from the container, based on Claire's reaction (she only felt the effects of it immediately upon Meredith's comment about the oxygen getting thin, and stopped feeling the effects of it when Meredith stopped 'pushing' her), and, more importantly, the mention of waterboarding torture (which, to me, suggests it was only in Claire's mind). I discussed this with Ryan on the Pyrokinesis talk page when it first occurred, and it was moved from a statement to an aside in the description, but I don't know if it should be removed altogether or placed somewhere else. Having gone over the scene a bunch of times, I really do feel that it was in Claire's head (and that the BTE interview was trumped by the show, since it isn't canon), and since it's not likely to ever be brought up again in the show, I was hoping to include it somewhere (I guess if all else fails, the theories section?). Stevehim 01:22, 19 October 2008 (EDT)
- I think it could definitely go into the theories section. The question of whether the incident was real or purely psychological doesn't seem noteworthy enough to be mentioned on the article itself and we shouldn't engage in speculation in the notes section, however it could go on the Theory page without any problem, sure. (Admin 01:55, 19 October 2008 (EDT))
- Sounds good. I removed the speculation from all of the pages, though the episode synopsis still says:
- I think it could definitely go into the theories section. The question of whether the incident was real or purely psychological doesn't seem noteworthy enough to be mentioned on the article itself and we shouldn't engage in speculation in the notes section, however it could go on the Theory page without any problem, sure. (Admin 01:55, 19 October 2008 (EDT))
"Meredith suggests the air must be getting thin in the container, which causes Claire to seemingly begin to suffocate. Claire begs her to stop, but Meredith persists until Claire confesses she wants to learn to fight not to help people, but to hurt villains such as Sylar. "
Is it ok to include the idea by leaving things a bit vague like that, or should that be changed to be more definite (ie - removal of 'seemingly')? If the latter, I'll do so tomorrow and put the idea in the theories section. If the former, then would these changes to the other references to the scene be acceptable, to keep things consistent?
Pyrokinesis page:
"Meredith is not hurt by the fire she creates, and she seems to be resistant to other consequences of its use; her flames generated enough heat and consumed enough oxygen from a shipping container that seemed to nearly suffocate Claire, but Meredith appeared to be completely unaffected, not even breaking a sweat (One of Us, One of Them)."
Claire's page:
"Meredith allows her to skip school and takes her to an empty storage container where she begins to burn the oxygen out of the air. Claire seems to start suffocating and begins to have flashbacks of her encounter with Sylar and pleads with Meredith to stop."

Heroes wiki in Spanish
Hello! I'm Bruno, from Uruguay, and I'm kind of the administrator of the heroes wiki in spanish. I'm saying "kind of" because the real administrator is absent since almost a year... And I'm the one who takes care of the wiki, creating, updating, translating articles and keeping the main page up to date, and I have the support of only one other user: Zphinx. So, we are only two for the whole wiki...
However, I didn't come to talk about that xD I was wondering... Should I put the "advertisement" section in the spanish wiki or not?
Waiting for your reply!
--Bruno 23:30, 19 October 2008 (EDT)
- Hey. The advertisement section requires some changes I have to make personally, but you'll be seeing it added very soon. Since you and Zphinx are doing such a good job over there, would you like to be administrators on the Spanish site? (Admin 17:07, 19 October 2008 (EDT))
- As for the advertisement: Ok! And there's another thing I wanted to tell you about that... I see the advertisement covering some part of the page and that's kind of anoying because it doesn't let you read or write properly, is that ok? (not the advert in the main page, the other one that appears in almost every page). As for the administrators of the spanish site: Great! I would really appreciate you that, and surely Zphinx would too! However, I think that MeliPetrelli (which is the actual admin but inactive since long ago) should remain as admin because she may return one day. Thanks a lot! --brunoar 23:30, 19 October 2008 (EDT)
- Could you take a screen capture and send it to admin@heroeswiki.com? Also try clearing your cache if you can or forcing a reload of the page. (Admin 09:46, 20 October 2008 (EDT))

My Own Worst Enemy Wiki
Hey Admin, what's up? I was wondering if we could start a MOWE wiki, as there's no one online, and it is also on the same network as Heroes. Thanks, Obi-Dan Kenobi 17:40, 19 October 2008 (EDT)
- I was thinking of a few good wiki ideas. A x-men films one or a Woliverine and the X-men.--Skywalkerrbf 17:44, 19 October 2008 (EDT)
Thanks
I think that through our powers combined we quelled what will become known as "The Great Outbreak of Possible Names of Arthur's Ability"--Aburu 22:30, 20 October 2008 (EDT)
Arthur
- Oh sorry, I thought he already had all of Peter's abilities. (Mykll 23:26, 20 October 2008 (EDT))
- He probably does and there will be a template for it in the body of his article (if there's not one already), but since the infobox is meant to be concise it usually keeps the list of abilities we've seen. You can check our Sylar and Peter's articles for examples. Arthur's article will end up looking similar. (Admin 23:27, 20 October 2008 (EDT))
- Can you change my user name please?. (Mykll 23:29, 20 October 2008 (EDT))
- What would you like it to be? (Admin 23:31, 20 October 2008 (EDT))
- Michael, if it's no trouble :). (Mykll 23:32, 20 October 2008 (EDT))
- That username is taken already unfortunately. You can pick a different one and then check Special:Listusers to confirm it's not currently in use. (Admin 23:34, 20 October 2008 (EDT))
- Never mind the name change, but do you hire any moderators for this site?. (Mykll 23:39, 20 October 2008 (EDT))
- There are a few administrators, but we don't do much that everyone else can't already do which is why we rarely add new ones. Editing and fixing articles are taken care of by everyone. Stick around and learn the ropes and you'll soon be helping out just as much as anyone else here. :) (Admin 23:42, 20 October 2008 (EDT))
