I was thinking:
- Samson and Sylar standing next to each other
- Sylar tk choking Samson w/ his oxygen cord
- Taxidermied bunny???
- Samson doing his Subduing/drowsiness thing (see discussion for naming)
...but im saying that this image definitely has to get the Samson and son in there--Anthony Gooch 22:27, 9 March 2009 (EDT)
- Samson & Son for sure. Bloodbath 22:44, 9 March 2009 (EDT)
- I think we should use the shot with Sylar and Danko out of focus, with the bunny in focus. It really summarizes the episode. For me, at least. --Cairoi 22:48, 9 March 2009 (EDT)
- Umm...you mean Samson and Sylar? Because I agree if that is the case. --Crazylicious 23:05, 9 March 2009 (EDT)
- No, I mean at the very end of the episode, in Danko's apartment. Between the two main storylines, this connected them and painted an image of the rest of the episodes to come. --Cairoi 23:36, 9 March 2009 (EDT)

I concur...the one of the last scenes in the show where Sylar is standing in Danko's apartment w. Danko on the other side of the wall and the taxidermied bunny on the table.--Anthony Gooch 23:44, 9 March 2009 (EDT)
- I'd really rather see something with Sylar and his dad. Pretty much anything from any of those scenes. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 00:10, 10 March 2009 (EDT)
I uploaded an episode image. It shows a face close-up of Sylar & daddy. I think the title of "Shades of Gray" can be a reference to the Gray family in some way. --L Lawliet 05:42, 10 March 2009 (EDT)
- It's a good choice. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 18:34, 10 March 2009 (EDT)
There is hope!
Heroes just keeps getting better and better! A Clear and Present Danger rocked, but after that it started to go a little downhill. But ever since last weeks episode and tonight's episode, damn! I feel like thy are finally getting a hold of the story, giving us what we want to see. Im so happy I never gave up, this show is rocking!--Cairoi 22:38, 9 March 2009 (EDT)
- yeah next....next weeks episode looks even more crazy!--Icykidd 22:45, 9 March 2009 (EDT)
A Few Notes
First of all, great episode. The bunny kept reminding me of Donnie Darko (as Sylar also occasionally reminds me of the character of Donnie himself) and I loved meeting Daddy Gray and his trippy chain-smoker narcotic bird calls. A few notes, of course. The song playing in Sam's Comics was Not Now But Soon by Imogen Heap. I believe it was on the Heroes soundtrack. I'm not sure, though. Also, I noticed that two of the comic book nerds there were played by a few 'Chuck' extras. The tall redhead with the 'fro and the portly guy with glasses both play Buy More 'green shirt' salesman the hour before Heroes. I'm going to mention that when I send in questions to BTE this week. Anyways, good episode and great restarting point for Fuller. I'm hoping this week's GN will be about Samson and what powers he stole back in the day. Or about what happened to Luke. - It would have been better if Mohinder was in it; I'm glad they used his narration at the end. There were several plot points that I thought were a little too off the radar, but overall, it was pretty good. I also thought John Glover did an excellent job. He's a great actor. I liked him on Smallville "way back when," but in my opinion, he's moved up! --Mohinder613 (my talk page) 12:10, 10 March 2009 (EDT)
- I actually found the narration to be a little jarring and out of place... -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 19:43, 10 March 2009 (EDT)
- Maybe, but because of his narration, this episode was credited as Sendhil Ramamurthy's fiftieth appearance! (Even though he didn't actually appear...) That's more than anyone else on the show! I know that a lot of people won't like this idea, but maybe we could mention it in the trivia section... Just a thought... --Mohinder613 (my talk page) 23:34, 10 March 2009 (EDT)
- Mentioning it in the trivia section is a great idea...but we definitely shouldn't list Mohinder as having appeared in this episode. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 21:51, 11 March 2009 (EDT)

Oliver Grigsby
First episode ever and was it fantastic! One episode and he managed to add depth and color to characters others said had grown too far and needed to go back to square one. He gave some respect to Claire's intelligence. Sylar's interactions with his father were perfect. He ran into an unexpected situation, but handled it in exactly the way the new, improved Sylar would handle it. Hunter, HRG, and Nathan all evolved. Angela's scenes were perfection. You could not do a thing to improve anything in those scenes, especially when it comes to the way it was written or performed by Cris Rose. Oliver G. has raised the bar!--Mistyjo 07:24, 10 March 2009 (EDT)
- Two things Ollie excels at: knowing what fans want, and telling a great story. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 08:13, 10 March 2009 (EDT)
- I was really surprised by the episode because this is his first! He did a really great job! Loved it!--Alen (talk) 11:10, 10 March 2009 (EDT)
Angela with new pair of socks
Loved he subtle tie-in to the pilot episode where Angela was arrested for shoplifting a pair of socks. --HiroDynoSlayer (talk) 03/10/2009 09:15 (EST)
- I noticed the sock reference right away. In fact, I had to explain it to my family who didn't get it. --Mohinder613 (my talk page) 12:10, 10 March 2009 (EDT)
- I loved that little reference as well. Hopefully it's a symbolic gesture from the crew that they promise to rescue Heroes from the catatrophic Volume Three ;) Bonchilla 08:14, 11 March 2009 (EST)

Rachel vs. Doyle
So if Rachel rescued Doyle in this week's graphic novel, "Puppet...", and he knows it, then why is he conflicted about whether to kill her or not here? This episode follows from the comic, so Doyle knows she works for Rebel. There's no one else present, so there's no reason for either of them to fake not knowing each other. --Gadfly 13:18, 10 March 2009 (EDT)
- I don't think they were faking not knowing each other. I think they were both having a crisis of conscious. Doyle didn't want to kill the woman who had previously saved him, yet was hunting him now. Rachel was supposed to take in somebody she had previously saved. I don't think she's entirely comfortable with hunting people who are like her--just as Noah isn't entirely comfortable with the operation. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 13:24, 10 March 2009 (EDT)
- But Rachel had already saved Doyle. In the comic, she's clearly working with Rebel. And Doyle clearly knows she's working with Rebel. Heck, it's the fact that she risks her life and is "good" that convinces him to try being good himself. Having doubts about killing, say, Jason if he were there, makes sense, since Doyle is trying to turn over a new leaf. Having doubts about killing the woman he knows is working to save him, and is working with his only real ally, doesn't make sense.--Gadfly 17:04, 10 March 2009 (EDT)
- I don't think a change of heart comes that easily. New leaves are not turned over with ease. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 18:36, 10 March 2009 (EDT)
- Even if Doyle is still a scheming jerk, thinking about killing the agent of the person who is helping you escape doesn't make sense. --Gadfly 23:07, 10 March 2009 (EDT)

- Jason was behind Doyle--Cj31094 17:23, 11 March 2009 (EDT)
- I don't think Rachel is working FOR Rebel as much as she is being somewhat "blackmailed" by him. Any thoughts?--JessicaHeartsMatt 09:45, 12 March 2009 (EDT)
- That's what I think too. It seems more or less like Rebel is making her work for his cause rather than Rachel helping him out of her own choice. -- Bonchilla 0:56, 13 March 2009
Cool Episode
Some parts are cool, some part are okay.
-Mohinder finally narrated again
-Hiro and Ando is finally back
-Tracy is finally shown again
-I expected West to save Claire on the end bit though because of the tree and the window.
-Hayden looks younger without make up in the beginning
-Is this gonna be Samson Gray's last appearance?
-Will Rachel ever demonstrate her ability?
-What happened to Abby, is that just a one-time guesting for Moira Kelly?
-Sylar to Danko: Team Up or Kill him?
-Does Danko have an ability?
and more and more and more!!!
I CANT WAIT FOR 2 WEEKS TO SEE THE NEXT EPISODE!!!!!!!!!--NiveKJ13 (talk2me) 14:14, 10 March 2009 (EDT)
-I LOVED the narration! I was happily surprised by it
-I kinda wished they stayed in India longer.. Everything happens in the States...
-And next episide will be "Tracy-centered"!!
-I miss West... :(
-Is that good or bad?
-He was a heavily anticipated character but he wasn't so cool...
-She used it in the graphic novel!
-I hope so!
-Please kill him!! Please!!
-It seems so.. Angela definitely hinted at one.

Power
Anyone has any idea about what the whistle like thing Samson did to make Sylar pass out was? Was that an ability? If so quite a strange one. Intuitive Empath - Talk - Contributions 14:01, 10 March 2009 (EDT)
- Isn't that Sedation? I think it should have been move like paralysis --IronyUTC CH 14:03, 10 March 2009 (EDT)
- I'm not sure, but someone called it Sedation because it makes them dizzy and sleepy. The admins didn't bother about the name much though, and it seems better anyways than Samson Gray's absorbed abilty ;D--NiveKJ13 (talk2me) 14:04, 10 March 2009 (EDT)
- Oh, sorry that's not what I meant, I think the writers should have added the power in as paralysis, it would be better that sedation. --IronyUTC CH 14:06, 10 March 2009 (EDT)
- I wouldn't like paralysis, it doesn't imply loss of consciousness and the drowsiness. Intuitive Empath - Talk - Contributions 15:12, 10 March 2009 (EDT)
- Sorry, still don't think people get what I meant, I would rather the writers made the power paralysis induction instead of sedation. --IronyUTC CH 15:25, 10 March 2009 (EDT)
- The rabbit didn't loose consciousness and Sylar was faking it. His dad was surprised he moved, not that he woke up and was talking. I'd say it is more like paralysis. I believe I understand, Irony. You think they did use sedation, but wish they had used paralysis. I think you got your wish. Except by using a whistle sound as the cue, I think they're in more of a trance like state than anything else, like a snake charmer.--Mistyjo 16:16, 10 March 2009 (EDT)
- What Irony meant is NOT the name, but the power itself. He/She thinks that the makers should've made the ability a "paralysis" of somekind instead of just sedating the victims.--Witchy2006 16:57, 10 March 2009 (EDT)

That Matt, Jr guy
Great episode, finally narration again! But can someone explain the deal with the son of Matt Parkman. Is Matt Parkman, Jr. and Matthew the same kid/soul/person? Thanks! //Larvig 16:32, 10 March 2009 (EDT)
- yes but you guys see how freak out the siter was , i think that baby matt has an ability like Jay Jay from the incredibles--Cj31094 17:43, 10 March 2009 (EDT)
- It's unclear right now whether Matthew and Matt Parkman, Jr. are the same person. It seems that they would be, but that's never been confirmed. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 18:42, 10 March 2009 (EDT)
Did anyone else see West?
Doesn't look like in these discussions that anyone has mentioned the possibility that West was at the comic book store. I for one saw West when Claire was leaving Sam's Comics, when all the guys were saying "Bye, Claire." He certainly looked older. And then I thought about how West never did officially 'move' away from Costa Verde, he just left Claire alone. Anyone else? Mike 17:03, 10 March 2009 (EDT)
- Screencapped the possible appearance [1] Mike 18:08, 10 March 2009 (EDT)
- There is a definite similarity but I don't think that's Nicholas D'Agosto --Peter 18:11, 10 March 2009 (EDT)
- Well when I first saw him I was like "Huh? West?" Plus it's been, what, a year and a half since we've seen West (real time, not Heroes time), so it's possible. To each his own I guess. Mike 18:13, 10 March 2009 (EDT)

bad
IceGhost78 disappointing to see Sylar just overpowered his opponent as always
- Physically, maybe. But mentally and emotionally? I'd say the point goes to Samson. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 20:40, 10 March 2009 (EDT)
- Definitely, Samson certainly threw Sylar for a loop during that encounter at first. Dracomaster4 23:38, 10 March 2009 (EDT)
Security Camera
Did anyone else notice that the scene where Danko shoots the window behind Nathan, that there is a security camera in the background with a blinking red light. Just before Danko shoots, the red light turns off. Was wondering if this may pertain to Rebel protecting Nathan's secret. Dracomaster4 00:37, 11 March 2009 (EDT)
- II noticed the camera as well and wondered if Rebel might intervene to shut the thing off. After reading this, it may just be possible, but then again the camera light was continously blinking, right? So maybe it wasn't shut off. I don't know though. Good excuse to go and re-watch that episode now, heh. Sharp eye. Bonchilla 08:07, 11 March 2009 (EST)
- The camera was not blinking the entire time. Right before Danko and Nathan get to talking about Nathan having an ability, the camera turns off (red light stops blinking). I agree Dracomaster4, this is Rebel protecting Nathan's secret. Now I'm beginning to think Nathan has Micah somewhere with sufficient computers/TVs/cell phones so Micah can watch out for the heroes while Nathan is trying to keep his front. (I am assuming of course, that Micah is Rebel, given that he is the only character so far to be established with powers that can affect all these electronic communications). =)--JessicaHeartsMatt 09:53, 12 March 2009 (EDT)
Hope
"Have Hope" - Rebel "I'm your last HOPE" - Nathan And Tracy's face when she hears the word hope and doesn't turn in Nathan. Just sayin... :) --Mistyjo 08:12, 11 March 2009 (EDT)
- I'm going to interpret it as "hope" that the show doesn't get cancelled, and can successfully stomp out a few of the bugs left over from Volume Three :P -- Bonchilla 08:21, 11 March 2009 (EST)

New actors and characters
what?
it wasn't so cool as I expected... and the explosion part... I thought it was going to be more exciting... what happens to Heroes?--Themd 14:38, 11 March 2009 (EDT)
- Seems like you're expecting the wrong things when it comes to this show. It's not all about abilities, explosions and the excitement based on those two things. It's more about characters and their development. As you can see from the comments above, we all loved the episode because of the character based drama and character development.--Alen (talk) 18:07, 11 March 2009 (EDT)
well... I only watch heroes because of all that powers stuff... but, the characters are getting boring... but, at least Sylar (my favorite character) is not busy anymore!--Themd 20:46, 11 March 2009 (EDT)
- Just what I thought. Well, characters are getting more interesting in this volume cause abilities are put in the "backseat". Maybe that's why you think they're getting boring. You have to remember this is a character drama, not a show about abilities. But anyways... Hope you'll enjoy the next episodes! :)--Alen (talk) 10:39, 12 March 2009 (EDT)
- Personally I'm loving it, not every single situation is solved by an ability, my personal favourite - Oh no a wild cup! Lets use lightning on it!--Steely McBeam - (talk) 10:45, 12 March 2009 (EDT)
- "not a show about abilities" really? i just wanted to say that i watch heroes because of all the elements of the show. and i think the show has had all the character development that it needed. now it needs better twists and more excitement! my ears/eyes are bleeding of all the nagging about "character drama" and "development". //Larvig 10:19, 13 March 2009 (EDT)
- So, it's settled. Some Heroes' fans want more excitement by seeing powers (and they've got that in the third volume) and some want to see character twists and character development (and they've getting that in this volume).--Alen (talk) 11:14, 13 March 2009 (EDT)~
