|Date of event:||1752|
The kite experiment is a famous experiment carried out by Benjamin Franklin to prove his many theories of electricity.
As Benjamin and William Franklin stand atop a hill they ready the kite, attaching a key to conduct the lightning, and to avoid electricution covers the kite in a dry silk string. He misinterperates the fact that if the string is wet it too will conduct the electricity. William asks if they should try a different location. At that moment the lightning strikes the kite with enough charge to kill a man. Later the events are contridicted in Benjamin Franklin's journal.
