Christmas Special

Darn...I was so looking forward to the Heroes: Special Holidays Episode :) --Hero!(talk)(contribs) 18:01, 22 June 2007 (EDT)

  • It's Christmas at Sylar's house, and everyones' excited. --DocM 18:11, 22 June 2007 (EDT)
    • Hey Candice, could you look like Santa Clause for my kid? --Hero!(talk)(contribs) 20:50, 22 June 2007 (EDT)

Principle Cast

  • I thought Kensei was going to be a main character this season.--Bob 15:14, 24 September 2007 (EDT)
    • Could be, I've heard both things, and nothing official. If you want to change it, that's fine with me. I just figured we'd wait to see how the credits roll tonight. (Just a few more hours left!) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:57, 24 September 2007 (EDT)
      • Gotcha. And due to my college income, I don't have DVR, so I'm recording it on my old TV tuner card and on my DVD recorder, and I don't work Mondays anymore, so I can plow through stuff after the show (classwork pending). Tonight, though, the Saints are playing and I have two CS programs I need to write soon (if only), so I may not get around to as much as y'all.--Bob 16:00, 24 September 2007 (EDT)
  • How was it determined that Maya is main and Alejandro isn't?--Riddler 22:11, 24 September 2007 (EDT)
    • It's determined by the creators or NBC, I forgot which. When it comes to cast categories it's the only category that's not arbitrary. It comes down to how the creators/NBC wants to credit a particular actor/actress. It doesn't necessarily have anything to do with how prominent they are or anything. For example, Tawny Cypress (Simone) was credited as a main character despite having very little actual airtime. (Admin 22:14, 24 September 2007 (EDT))
      • I was just wondering =P I didn't catch the credits.--Riddler 22:17, 24 September 2007 (EDT)
        • No problem. It's a common question that gets asked from time to time, actually. :) (Admin 22:18, 24 September 2007 (EDT))

New Characters and Actors

I'm adding this here because I don't want to deal with edit conflicts.
Adetokumboh M'Cormack=Tuko (the one Peter zaps)
Kiko Kiko=old villager
Mark Colson=Mr. Zern (Claire's teacher)
Casey Washington=decoy hostage
Liisa Cohen=decoy kidnapper (yes, I spelled her first name correctly)
Milos Milicevic=Hulk (the Fidel Castro lookalike)
Rene L. Moreno=Coyote (the truck driver)
Darryl Chan=Fake Kensei
Lauren Stamile=Miss Gerber (Molly's teacher)
Brian Kimmet=Copy Kingdom manager
Dominic Keating=Will
Sara Solomon = Martha (girl getting picked on in the gym)

I see Martha already exists. The credits definitely say Soloman, while on imdb this is definitely Sara Solomon. Put a note on her page? --Fcphantom 23:53, 24 September 2007 (EDT)
Credits confirmation complete. Everyone in the credits is now included above. --Fcphantom 00:38, 25 September 2007 (EDT)

Synopsis

  • The synopsis needs to be more detailed, be edited for perspective, and have more attention paid to grammar and syntax. It's a good start, but it needs some help before it's up to standards.--Hardvice (talk) 23:39, 24 September 2007 (EDT)

Otsu and Kyoto

As far as I can remember, nothing actually happens in Kyoto, though there is stuff that happens on the outskirts of Otsu. We should probably merge Kyoto with Otsu, and delete the pictures of Kyoto. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 00:46, 25 September 2007 (EDT)

  • Since Otsu is now burned to the ground, I'm thinking the villagers will move to Kyoto, but that's only a guess. Do we want to delete the photos just to re-add them next episode?--MiamiVolts (talk) 00:50, 25 September 2007 (EDT)
    • Well, at least take them off the page and out of the portals. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 00:56, 25 September 2007 (EDT)

Bob?

  • Was it said in this episode that his name was Bob? I didn't notice that. If not, shouldn't we rename him to Cairo Company Man for now?--MiamiVolts (talk) 01:52, 25 September 2007 (EDT)

More powers to review and discuss... Woohoo!

  1. Alejandro and Maya -- (looks like it safe to say at least that Maya is an evolved human now). Should we name Maya's power as viral poisoning? Talk about it here.
  2. Bob -- turning a spoon into gold...Aurification? Talk about it here.
  3. Peter -- was that Ted's radioactivity he emitted from his hands or a new power? Remember that Ted could make his hands glow white-hot? Talk about it here.
  4. Evil red riding hood? How did she/he fall so many stories and survive? Is Kaito dead?
  5. West -- Looks like he can fly...--MiamiVolts (talk) 03:26, 25 September 2007 (EDT)
  • I for one don't understand the rush here. I'd rather we be accurate than first to name something. We simply don't know enough about Maya and Alejandro's power(s) to give them a name. Heck, we can't even be completely clear about how the victims died--for all the evidence we've seen, she could have beat them to death with a stick and poured treacle on their eyes and mouth. It's entirely appropriate to note the state of the victims on her page, and to note that she seems to believe she is an evolved human, but it's still too early to be worried about naming a power, making a page for it, etc. There's just no point when we can probably make a much better, less speculative attempt in a week. And since we still haven't seen her actually use her power, we can't even really confirm that she's an evolved human. Bob's another story--we've at least seen him use his power. And I definitely want another look at Peter's scene. My initial impression was that it was just TK, but it did look a bit like an energy blast.--Hardvice (talk) 03:39, 25 September 2007 (EDT)
    • Heh. The rush appears to be more on the producers part... Unlike the first season, the producers seems to have pounded in a lot more of the character's powers in the first episode. Last year, we had more time to get to know most of the characters before the Genesis of their powers. Myself, I'm not in a rush to get them named, just in a rush to get you and others talking about them. ;)--MiamiVolts (talk) 03:52, 25 September 2007 (EDT)
    • I agree, I don't think there's any rush to naming a power. I'm not opposed to putting a small blurb on Maya's page under the heading "Powers", but we know almost nothing about it (and the argument could be made that it might not have been her at all). I agree we should exercise some prudence. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 06:00, 25 September 2007 (EDT)
      • Per #3 above, there is no new Peter power. I first thought that too, and said, "ooh cool new blue-bolt ray"....but when I re-watched it frame-by-frame, all it ended up being was Peter turning towards the irish guys, and the blue-bulbed flashlight reflecting off of Peter's palm just before he pushed them away with regular old Telekinesis. I think they did the camera angle like that, just to get the fanbase in a flurry over what appeared to be a new Peter power. --HiroDynoSlayer (talk) 09/25/2007 16:13 (EST)
        • I guess it could be a flashlight reflection, but it's an awefully big one (see here. Anyways, I guess we can go with TK unless we learn otherwise.--MiamiVolts (talk) 02:43, 26 September 2007 (EDT)
          • Well, now, if we don't know whether or not it's a new power (or at least new to the episodes), we don't know if it's telekinesis either. I'd leave the whole thing off and see what he does next week. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 06:33, 26 September 2007 (EDT)
          • I also thought it was just TK with a flashlight reflection the first time through (their flashlight beams are very blue, after all), but on repeated viewings I think it's definitely ... something else. For one thing, Tuko doesn't have a flashlight on Peter when he goes in for the smackdown, and he's the only one close enough to produce that bright a spot. For another, the light doesn't really appear until Peter begins to use whatever power it is, and frame-by-frame you can watch it grow from a pinprick-sized light in the palm of his hand until it flares. Still way too early to say what it was, and I'm guessing they'll address it next week, but interesting nonetheless. It seems Peter's been up to something for the last four months apart from getting shipped to Ireland ... or somebody he's been around previously has an unrevealed power that he's unconsciously called up.--Hardvice (talk) 12:46, 26 September 2007 (EDT)
            • Yeah, it's hard to claim (based on the above photo) that it's still TK, but I'm not sure it's a new power either. Remember how Ted created a blueish-white energy blast (EMP) to allow himself, Matt and Noah to escape Primatech? I think that's what Peter is doing, based on the photo and the spoiler video. Obviously, it's too early to say yes or no, but that's my current theory.--MiamiVolts (talk) 14:32, 26 September 2007 (EDT)
            • Yeah, my guess is that that he's probably been around Veronica Mars. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 14:43, 26 September 2007 (EDT)
              • If you re-watch the final seen with the Peter-bluepalm, then watch the 'next-weeks' preview scene where Peter is clearly blasting someone with blue-bolts, then there shouldn't be anymore doubt on this one. Somewhere Peter has picked up photo-torpedoes....probably from Sylar, since ZQ is now going to be playing Spock on the Enterprise. It really makes sense to me....(just kidding). But there is definately a new blue-bolt thingy going on with Peter. We'll probably have confirmation next Monday, based on the previews, so we can sit on it until then. --HiroDynoSlayer (talk) 09/26/2007 18:17 (EST)

Mirror

Did anyone get what Nathan was looking at in the mirror at the bar? If my guess is correct he's looking at him self, but what the hell is wrong with him? Is it just his imagination because he's drunk or what?

  • Greg Beeman says, "He drinks alone in a bar and is haunted by a disfigured version of himself. Who is this vision and what is the symbolism behind his horrible disfigurement?" Personally, I think it's an echo of his guilt for Peter's supposed death. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 14:27, 25 September 2007 (EDT)
    • I took it to be more of a physical disfigurement he suffered when Peter went nuclear, that is somehow hid from public view by an unknown SG power. It could have been burn scars. However, that might be a grasp. I just didn't expect them to project psychological anguish in lieu of something with a more supernatural bent. --ReturnToGodsender 14:36, 25 September 2007 (EDT)
    • It's JESSICA! Back to torment another hopeless soul from the mirror! --HiroDynoSlayer (talk) 09/25/2007 16:14 (EST)

The Guy who killed Kaito

What should we call the guy in a hooded sweathshirt that threw Kaito off the Deveaux building? Conduit 14:08, 25 September 2007 (EDT)

  • Kaito's not necessarily dead just yet...--MiamiVolts (talk) 14:12, 25 September 2007 (EDT)
    • He fell 30 stories and was seen lying in a pool of blood. I suppose it's possible that he has regeneration, but I doubt it. And that would make for a very lame copout next episode. Conduit 14:18, 25 September 2007 (EDT)
      • It seems people fall off buildings or get shot often in Heroes, only to get up and walk away later. I would definitely not make a page for the mysterious person right now, but we can certainly refer to him or her as needed. We know the beginning episodes are a murder mystery, and the identity of that person will be revealed. (Something tells me it's the 1,000-year-old Kane/Kensei.) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 14:27, 25 September 2007 (EDT)
        • Right, and some people can erupt in enormous explosions and not be harmed...--MiamiVolts (talk) 14:36, 25 September 2007 (EDT)
          • Why doesn't he deserve an article? He was talked about a lot by Angela and Kaito, then appeared and did something very significant. Many characters that have done less than that have had pages created for them. If he turns out to be a character we already know, then the pages can be merged. Conduit 14:37, 25 September 2007 (EDT)
            • I'm more concerned with him being treated as a separate entity (especially in the appearances page), when we've been told that the identity may already be known. I'm not so much opposed to an article on the person (though I certainly wouldn't assume it's a "he" or a "guy") as I am to giving the character an identity when he or she may aleady have one. I would personally just wait a week. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 16:06, 25 September 2007 (EDT)
              • If his identity isn't gonna be revealed for a while, should we call him the Old Generation Killer? OGK?! XD --AvadaNella 16:10, 25 September 2007 (EDT)

Hooden villain Male or Female?

The Hooded Assassin is a male. When I was editting the film and burning it to DVD last night, I examined the frames quite closely, and tried very carefully to photoshop his face out of the darkness....they really hid it well, BTW, nothing was discernable. However, what was clearly discernable, after zooming in, was his hand. Definately the hand of a man and not a woman. --HiroDynoSlayer (talk) 09/25/2007 16:18 (EST)

  • Can you show us the screencap? I'm not sure we can say what someone's gender is just by looking at their hand.--MiamiVolts (talk) 16:21, 25 September 2007 (EDT)
    • Agree. Hasn't anyone ever seen the Man Hands episode of Seinfeld? -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 16:29, 25 September 2007 (EDT)
  • Remember the first Sylar? That wasn't the character we all know and love... ---- Ohmyn0.jpgOhmyn0talk.jpg 16:46, 25 September 2007 (EDT)

The new graphic novel is out

You can download it here.

Lead image

For the lead image, I'd much rather see another image. In fact, I'd rather see an image from just about any storyline other than Hiro's. In truth, Hiro's story is the only one which does not take place four months later. I think a nice shot of Nathan in the bar, disheveled and bearded, would be a good symbol for the changes that have occurred in the last four months. Other good options are the Bennets at dinner, Mohinder in the lecture hall, or Matt and Molly at Mohinder's. Personally, Nathan's changed countenance speaks the loudest, visually, so that one gets my vote. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 16:13, 25 September 2007 (EDT)

  • Yeah, if we're gonna have Hiro as the lead image, it should be Hiro under the arrows. That was his coolest scene. When I get home, I can upload the pic of the Hooded Assassin. I think he was the most 'mysterious' and possible his red-symboled storieline of hunting the elder statesmen will probably become a major story-arc. If it isn't too dark and fuzzy, it would be a good candidate; or the flashlight reflecting into Peter's palm as he TKs the guy...that's another good shot. Try to get them up soon to look at. --HiroDynoSlayer (talk) 09/25/2007 16:21 (EST)
    • I wouldn't use the assassin pic as the lead image because it really doesn't symbolize the intervening four months. I'd go with a character we know already, and show the toll the time has taken on them, or at least how they've changed. Another option is Kaito and Ando together, though I'd still rather see bearded Nathan. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 16:29, 25 September 2007 (EDT)

I'm working on getting one of Nathan at the bar. ---- Ohmyn0.jpgOhmyn0talk.jpg 16:46, 25 September 2007 (EDT)

  • The current one (Nathan yelling at mom) is really dark. This is because all of the Nathan scenes are really dark, especially the bar scene. ---- Ohmyn0.jpgOhmyn0talk.jpg 17:11, 25 September 2007 (EDT)
  • Much better choice! Very nice. I'll work on fixing the levels when I get home. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 17:13, 25 September 2007 (EDT)
    • Huh. I was going to suggest a pic with Nathan and his beard. Is there a decent shot of Nathan and his mom when she has the death threat picture? (not home right now) --Fcphantom 18:28, 25 September 2007 (EDT)
      • She gets the death threat after she leaves the apartment, so Nathan might not even know about it (unless, of course, he's the one who put the threats outside the apartment and in the newspaper). -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 00:25, 26 September 2007 (EDT)

Ratings

This episode scored 14.12 million viewers, which is 30,000 more than Genesis last year. Not bad. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 00:26, 26 September 2007 (EDT)

Did Nathan turn evil?

  • Is it only me having the impression, that Nathan is behind the pictures Kaito and Angela received? In the scene where Kaito receives his picture, i think it's Nathan who bumps into Ando and possibly puts the picture inside the newspaper and when Angela receives her picture, it's again Nathan who is around. It's all speculation so far but that would be a mean thing, having Nathan turn against the other evolved humans (or atleast those that were related to using Peter as a bomb) to take revenge for his brothers death (well, he ain't dead but Nathan does not know that!). Comments? Waldmeister 08:51, 26 September 2007 (EDT)
    • Wow very astute observations! I'm not sure if he's evil per se, but the alcohol and depression may have him acting out against those he feels are responsible. Perhaps something extra happened in the four months not yet seen to have him mad at the whole generation of older heroes not just his mother and Linderman. Disney42 09:19, 26 September 2007 (EDT)
  • I don't understand why Angela would be upset at Nathan for killing Peter, since she wanted Peter dead anyhow so the bomb would explode. Maybe it's just that she's upset that the plan fell through or that her character always has to be upset at someone. In any case, I thought it could have been handled in a more consistent way. Ilan 18:09, 28 September 2007 (EDT)

The 12

Is it too early to make an article about the 12 founding members of the Company? What should we call it? Gregorus 14:52, 26 September 2007 (EDT)

  • I was thinking that too. There's Portal:Unnamed Groups, but I don't think there's really a lot of information. There's the few times Linderman and Kaito mention "their friends". I think the screenshot of Kaito and Angela's picture held together would be a nice lead picture for it.--Bob 15:08, 26 September 2007 (EDT)
    • Yeah, I am thinking for now the information we learn about the 12 can be added to The Company, which is a group in Portal:Unnamed Groups.--MiamiVolts (talk) 15:12, 26 September 2007 (EDT)
      • Eh, not so fast. There's no direct connection for Angela and Charles and the company, but there is for Kaito and Linderman. Again, the Company could have been "the arm" of this group, the Linderman group was "the wallet", but the 12 could have just been the main group of EH that spurred these two.--Bob 15:16, 26 September 2007 (EDT)
        • Doesn't what Kaito said mean the Older Generation (including Angela, cause Kaito was talking to her) were the original founders of the Company? We know Kaito was part of the Company because of the clip in Company Man.--MiamiVolts (talk) 15:27, 26 September 2007 (EDT)
          • No, it doesn't. Bob's information about the company doesn't say anything about 12 people. Linderman and Kaito both said that they teamed up with friends to help save the world, but split. For all we know, this split was the 12 people before founding the company. We just don't have enough information to tie the 12 to the company. --Bob 15:49, 26 September 2007 (EDT)
            • The 9 reference is now obvious. Isn't it ? -- Frenchflo.gif (talk) 16:02, 26 September 2007 (EDT)
              • Yeah, when he said nine, first thing that came to mind. --Bob 17:02, 26 September 2007 (EDT)
                • Yeah, I caught the 9 ref too... that's why I think there's a good chance Kaito will live...--MiamiVolts (talk) 20:06, 26 September 2007 (EDT)
  • Is there any evidence that all 12 (or 9) are evolved humans? Somebody wrote that Kaito was an evolved human, but I didn't see that confirmed anywhere. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 21:38, 28 September 2007 (EDT)
    • In the first CBR article of Season 2, they confirm that Kaito is evolved and that it was not easy to kill him (whatever that means). They also confirmed that Bob is another of the 12, and that Primatech isn't totally gone yet.--MiamiVolts (talk) 18:59, 1 October 2007 (EDT)
      • I caught that. That's a good indication that we'll probably be getting in-episode confirmation pretty soon, since they usually don't lead with spoilers too far out.--Hardvice (talk) 19:08, 1 October 2007 (EDT)

About April

I noticed Lyndsy Fonseca in the episode (standing with the rest of the cheerleaders when they teased Claire and Martha), but I don't remember her having any lines ... I also noticed her page hadn't been de-spoiled yet, is this because the character was cut from the episode (or in this case, made into an extra) ? Fonseca was listed as a guest-star on screen, afterall, and it is also known that Fonseca won't appear in any other episodes due to her landing a part on DH, right ? Therefore, even if the role was greatly reduced, shouldn't we despoil her page(s) ? --LeoChris 17:11, 28 September 2007 (EDT)

  • I didn't see Lyndsy with the other cheerleaders, and I didn't see her name listed in the credits. If she appeared, she should have a page written about her character, and her article should be despoiled. Can you provide a screencap or some more information of where she is? I went back and check--either I'm missing something, or she wasn't in the episode.
    • She's the last cheerleader to leave when Claire says she can't do the backflip, and she's on Debby's left when Clarie stands up to Debbie.--Bob 17:50, 29 September 2007 (EDT)
  • Wait. So the gay best friend ended up being straight, and now the lesbian cheerleader leaves for another show before her story even starts? *Sigh* Here we go again...--Hardvice (talk) 05:12, 29 September 2007 (EDT)
  • Here is Fonseca's name in the credits and her appearing in the episode. :) --LeoChris 15:16, 29 September 2007 (EDT)
  • I'd say despoil her page. However, she was never identified by name, and she wasn't identified in the end credits, so I'm not sure we can call her April. Can "offscreen" sources be used to name articles in the absence of canon sources? Conduit 16:56, 29 September 2007 (EDT)
    • Thanks for the caps. Yeah, it should definitely be despoiled. She can be called April since her name isn't really a spoiler. (See here for a discussion about using noncanon sources to name articles.) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 17:56, 29 September 2007 (EDT)
      • It has been despoiled. Conduit 18:20, 29 September 2007 (EDT)

...

The title is "Four Months Later..." not just "Four Months Later". Shouldn't we include the ellipsis, like the exclamation point in Run!?--Leshia 18:14, 7 October 2007 (EDT)

  • I noticed that too. I'm not sure if it's an official title since everything else has been released without an ellipsis. I'm torn, though. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 18:18, 7 October 2007 (EDT)
    • NBC list it on their press release as Four Months Later.... For me, that's official. I don't think it matters that much, but still, if we're looking for consistency...--  Lost Soul   talk  contribs  14:59, 9 November 2007 (EST)
      • There are a ton of links to it, but I think this is a case were we could easily move the article to the proper title and let redirects handle the heavy lifting (since the only discrepancy is terminal punctuation). Since the episode title card and the press release both call it Four Months Later..., I think that's what we should do, to. If we subsequently decide to adjust some or all of the links (definitely those on navbars, Season Two, and the like--eventually maybe those on character histories), then all the better.--Hardvice (talk) 15:52, 9 November 2007 (EST)
  • Actually I just noticed on my Heroes Season Two Blu-Ray set is lists the episode as "Four Months Later" instead of "Four Months Later..." I am not sure if it is the same on the DVD so could someone let me know? If so then maybe we should change the title to "Four Months Later" if not then the Blu-Ray's have an error on them.--User:Heroesfan110 18:02, 28 January 2009 (EST)
    • I'd consider it an error (albeit a generally insignificant one) on the DVD set. The press releases and the title of the episode as shown in the episode itself said "Four Months Later...". We have a redirect without the "...", but I think the current name of the article is the most accurate one. (Admin 18:11, 28 January 2009 (EST))
      • Yeah I agree with you about it being an error I just thought I would bring it up cause "Four Months Ago..." was correct and this one wasn't.--User:Heroesfan110 18:54, 28 January 2009 (EST)
        • Yeah. Even if it was written as something like "4 Months Later" on the DVD, we'd still go with what's onscreen. Good job keeping your eyes peeled, though! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 00:24, 29 January 2009 (EST)
          • Thanks! Yeah it just bugs me that NBC/Universal got this one wrong and they got "Four Months Ago..." right. For Blu-Ray all they would have to do is release a BD-Live update for the disc and it will update the menu. I have emailed them about that but so far I got no response. • I'm a bit late but the DVD does have the ellipsis. --mc_hammark 13:25, 24 August 2009 (EDT)
