Brave New World

Oscar finds Jose and Carlos talking outside Gutierrez and Sons about the evo vigilante "El Vengador" and Jose's idolization of him. Oscar disapproves of this and also informs Carlos of his belief that he abandoned his family. Carlos leaves Oscar to tend to business when Pelon arrives at the shop.

Later, under the guise of El Vengador, Oscar uses his incredible strength to stop what appears to be an attempted mugging. Disabling two of the muggers, Oscar is then shot by the apparent female victim. Before fleeing the scene, Oscar kills the woman by shooting a wrist-mounted knife into her neck. He then returns to his shop where Carlos discovers him. As Oscar lies dying in Carlos's arms, he asks his brother to take up the mantle of El Vengador and carry on his work.

Both Jose and Carlos console each other after Oscar's funeral before Jose is escorted away by Father Mauricio who tells Carlos he hoped Carlos and Oscar made up. Father Mauricio tells Carlos that despite his attitude towards his brother, Oscar had high hopes for him and loved Carlos. Father Mauricio later reveals to Carlos that he was helping Oscar run his underground railroad to help other evolved humans. Carlos also discovers that Oscar's death was set up by James Dearing for interfering with his corrupt police activities.

Under the Mask

Carlos uses the clues and tips Oscar left behind to identify Dearing. Jose says that he used to help Oscar with the books of the shop and that he doubts they will ever find his killer.
