Heroes Interactive transcript
My brother Joseph and I have had two families. The first one... well let's just say it didn't work out to well. But over the years, we made ourselves a new one. And it was to this family, all of you, that his heart really belonged. You see, a family is something Joseph and I needed. It offers protection from the outside world. A world that never understood or appreciated what makes us different. There are others like us out there, in the shadows, in the light. Each grasping for a meaning in a world that won't accept them for who they really are. They, like us are blessed gifted with extraordinary abilities. And they like us struggle with finding their place in an ordinary world. Haunted by their past from those who would harm them and keep them from their destiny. Every one of them deserves a chance to be who they really are. But to what end? For what purpose? Here in this place, we offer salvation. We offer hope, we offer redemption. And one by one, they will come to our side, to our family. And they will find their way home. And all who have gathered, will be strong. And all who have gathered, will stand in unison. I say it's time we found our way back home again. Find your way home, brother.

Six weeks after the death of Nathan. In Arlington, Virginia, Claire arrives at the dormitory of her college, where she meets Annie, her roommate. Annie is an over-achiever who has plotted out her entire college and career. She's dismissive of the fact that Claire only has a GED and surprised she managed to get in.

In Tokyo, Japan, a poster with Ando and Hiro's big pictures on it is on the wall of the Yamagato Industries. Inside, Ando and Hiro are waiting for the first call of the project they started: Dial a Hero. They are discussing whether the project will be successful or not, and Hiro is optimistic as always, further showing Ando the positive bar graphs, which he claims wouldn't fail. Ando notices a picture just behind the graphs, an old picture of Hiro, Kimiko and Ando, that was taken 14 years ago. Ando remembers that the night they took the picture, he spilled a drink all over Kimiko's new dress and since then she hated him. Ando speaks to Hiro about his love to Kimiko and is sad because Kimiko considers him as an idiot up until today. Just when Hiro says that it's not true, Kimiko enters shouting "idiots". She is very angry with them because they spent 50 million yen on their project. She especially scolds Ando, accusing him that it was his idea. She says that she won't let any more yen be used for the project. Then they get a phone call from their first client.

In New York City, Peter and Hesam receive a call about an accident twelve blocks away. However they are stuck in their vehicle, and the traffic is almost entirely blocked. Peter rushes out of the car and with the help of his ability, he arrives at the accident scene. A blonde pregnant woman is stuck in the car and Peter saves her.

Back in Virgina, Claire enters the class for the Algebra placement exam. Annie calls her to sit next to her. Professor Fenton arrives and starts the exam. Just after starting to copy the questions, Claire sees a red laser mark over her coat and just after that, is shot with a tranquilizer by DHS agents. Suddenly, she wakes up, unaware that she was making ughhh sounds, and realizes it was just a dream. Then, she just suddenly leaves, telling Annie that this class isn't for her.

In the hospital in New York, Hesam and Peter speak about the accident. Peter has single-handedly saved three lives because Christy, the pregnant woman has delivered twin sisters, and has named them Haley and Katie. Then Peter leaves for another shift.

Back in Tokyo, a little girl is showing Ando and Hiro that Muffin Man, her cat is stuck up in the roof. As both of their powers wouldn't be enough to save it, Ando climbs and picks the cat. But when the cat claws him, they both start falling into the ground, Hiro immediately stops time and saves them.

In Washington, D.C., Noah is on the phone with Angela, who tells him about the four deaths of Danko's men and asks him to kill Tracy Strauss who was responsible, as also it won't be long that she makes up that list to him or to Nathan. Angela says that it has been six weeks, enough time to put his personal life in order. They discuss about Sylar being turned up to Nathan by Matt, and Noah says that he took an emotional decision as he didn't want to see her loose her son. He says it was a wrong decision and that for 50 years the company avoided emotions for good reasons. Angela insists about the Strauss mission, telling him to get to work, so that the Company keeps running. He says that he's not "the man with the plan" anymore as he is losing his family. Then he says he has to go to Claire's first day of college and hangs up. He enters his car, tries to start the engine, it doesn't work and then suddenly water splash all around in the car, drowning Noah. Noah struggles for his life but when he's about to be drowned, we see a gun shot break the window of the car. It is Danko, who says that apparently Tracy Strauss made a visit to Noah. He offers Noah, that they kill Strauss before she kills them both, but he refuses, saying that he is not in that business anymore, that he is starting over. Just after Danko leaves, a cluster of water enters the canalization.

Back in the college, Claire meets a new girl called, Gretchen Berg. She recognizes the name "Claire Bennet" from the murder of the homecoming night, in Union Wells. Gretchen suggests her to change her name.

In Tokyo, Hiro manages to save Ando and the cat, however as he starts time his own time stops.

In Kojin Sushi, Angela sits in a table when Sylar enters, calling her mom and asking her what have she done to him... He's half an hour late. Then he apologizes and behaves very politely. Angela wakes up in her car, it was a dream. The car arrives at Kojin Sushi.

Danko enters his apartment. Tracy is there. He doesn't seem to remember her at all. Then Edgar appears, claiming he is there to take back what Danko took from them. He kills him with two knives, notices Tracy, attacks her but every time he strikes, Tracy instantly transforms part of her body into water. Then Tracy catches his arm, cooling it. Edgar, freaked out, runs away using his ability.

Ando has brought Hiro to Yamagato Industries, in that "carrying thing". But Kimiko is there discussing with a Yamagato worker. Ando clandestinely carries Hiro to the office. Then Hiro returns back from being frozen. Ando insists to bring him to a doctor but Hiro doesn't want saying he has already been to one, who told Hiro that he's dying. They discuss about changing the past, going to the point in time where all started. Hiro refuses. Then Hiro is suddenly at the carnival, 14 years ago in Tokyo.

A tattoo of Hiro appear on Lydia's back. She says his name is Hiro Nakamura and that he was here at the carnival, 14 years ago. Then Samuel finds an old man who asks if they're really going to stop running after all those years. Samuel approves and asks him to send him back 14 years.

Character Appearances

Trivia

  • This episode bills Robert Knepper as a guest star, but the press release states that he is a new regular. This is probably due to the fact that the role was originally meant to be recurring only, but the actor and NBC have both confirmed multiple times that he is a regular cast member. The billing may have also been NBC's way of simply introducing Knepper.
  • The solution to the math problem the Professor Fenton wrote on the board for the students to answer is as follows:
    x = -379/525, y = -1408/525, w = 227/105, and z = 12/5
  • Kimiko says that Hiro and Ando have spent fifty million yen on Dial a Hero. 50 million yen is approximately 500,000 U.S. dollars.
  • Annie, Gretchen, and Claire play Guitar Hero III. This video game was released on October 28, 2007.
