9 Power Groups
Okay, so I'm employing quite a bit of artistic licence here. However my idea is based on Ashoka's secret society of 9, where each member kept a book of knowledge of which the subjects were (summarised into single words):
- Alchemy
- Sociology
- Psychology
- Communication
- Light
- Physiology
- Cosmology
- Biology
- Gravitation
There were nine heroes present at the moment of... "truth" (?)... at Kirby Plaza: Peter, Sylar, Matt, Micah, Molly, Niki, DL, Claire & Nathan. Hiro warped out early so I don't think he could be counted, and I'm not sure about Sylar given the events during Six Months Ago (ie. Chandra found nothing special about him, but did find him in the first place). I can only guess that each of them may have represented each of the books. Apart from Molly, I could almost believe this list to be plausible:
- Sylar: Alchemy
- Peter: Sociology
- Matt: Psychology
- Micah: Communication
- Molly: Light
- Niki: Physiology
- DL: Cosmology
- Claire: Biology
- Nathan: Gravitation
You could probably question each of these and say such-and-such isn't a blah ability as it does blah-blah, but it's just a theory of mine that explains to me why they had to save the cheerleader, as well as a possible way to classify a heroes "area of expertise".
- Interesting fan-theory, and I think Molly could fit in "Light" if she can actually "see" the people she locates as I think is hinted. Hope my grouping which you deleted was of some help.--MiamiVolts (talk) 19:50, 3 July 2007 (EDT)
- Oh crap, sorry, I didn't mean it! I can get it back from history... no?--Unfalln 19:51, 3 July 2007 (EDT)
- Yeah, though this is your talk page so you can archive or delete it as you wish. Anyways, I regrabbed it from history for you and the 9 power groups I came up with are below:
- Oh crap, sorry, I didn't mean it! I can get it back from history... no?--Unfalln 19:51, 3 July 2007 (EDT)
- 1) mental-related powers: telepathy, emotion manipulation, mental manipulation, dream manipulation, persuasion
- 2) dimension-related powers: space-time manipulation, phasing, transportation
- 3) technology-related powers: Technopathy, electronic data transception
- 4) elemental-related powers: pyrokinesis, cryokinesis
- 5) physical enhancement powers: enhanced strength, enhanced speed, enhanced memory
- 6) physical improvement powers: flight, invisibility, rapid cell regeneration, Dynamic Camouflage
- 7) physical environment powers: telekinesis, Clairvoyance, Deoxygenation, electromagnetism, induced radioactivity, illusion, precognition
- 8) multipower powers: empathic mimicry, intuitive aptitude
- 9) powers applicable to non-human creatures: healing, plant growth
- 1) mental-related powers: telepathy, emotion manipulation, mental manipulation, dream manipulation, persuasion
--MiamiVolts (talk) 20:05, 3 July 2007 (EDT)
- As an addition, I guess this would be my current list of possible categorisations:

Deoxygenation
I just added deoxygenation to our wiki as a redirect; and though it was mentioned in an episode, we didn't see it occur and it is not necessarily the Crane boy's power. It was mentioned that the boy who sucked all the oxygen out of a school was in Santa Cruz, CA, so that's how we list it.--MiamiVolts (talk) 00:46, 25 July 2007 (EDT)
- Yeah, I saw a new power come out (dehydration) and thought I might update my list. Dehydration reminded me of deoxygenation and I thought I'd add that too. I had no idea where and even if it was listed in the wiki as a power. That unconfirmed list also gives me transportation and Dynamic camouflage, so I might list them later as well, although at this stage it's a little too similar to other powers. Thanks heaps for making the redirect :) --Unfalln 00:58, 25 July 2007 (EDT)
- As an aside, I knew that the crane boy wasn't confirmed as the source of the power, but I only really wanted an offhand reference so I included him anyway.--Unfalln 01:12, 25 July 2007 (EDT)
- Right, but you could put the (maybe) next to the power as you have done with other people's.--MiamiVolts (talk) 01:42, 25 July 2007 (EDT)
- I'm using the maybe to specify that the power is listed under multiple categories and doesn't neatly fit into a single listing. The only thing with deoxygenation is that it hasn't been neatly attributed to a single human, and this doesn't have any bearing over my list. I've considered doing away with the person column altogether, but I still need it to indicate the 9 evolved humans that each played a part in stopping the exploding man.--Unfalln 02:27, 25 July 2007 (EDT)
- Good idea. Just use a non-breaking space ( ) or a double-dash (--) to mark where the other people would go in the column. That's better than putting uncertain people, imho.--MiamiVolts (talk) 02:32, 25 July 2007 (EDT)
