Samuel Sullivan made a sandstorm whirl around Sylar.

Using his ability to control earth-based substances, Samuel Sullivan has been responsible for the deaths or injuries of the following victims.

List of victims

Direct Kills

• Arnold - Knowing that Arnold suffers from a brain tumor, Samuel has him kidnap and trap Charlie Andrews at an unknown point in time (Once Upon a Time in Texas), which causes him to bleed heavily; soon thereafter, Samuel strangles Arnold with his oxygen tubes, killing him. (Bloodlines, Part 2)
• Dinner party host and attendees -- Samuel uses his ability to create a sinkhole beneath the home of his childhood, destroying the building and killing the woman who rejected his request to come in, as well as two other attendees. (Ink)
• Deputy Gill -- Gill dies in the Cainan Police Department when Samuel brings it down. (Strange Attractors)
• Gill's accomplice -- Deputy Gill's accomplice enters the Cainan police department with Gill before Samuel brings it down. (Strange Attractors)
• Everyone in the police station -- When he destroyed the station he killed everyone else who was in there including any other cops and prisoners. (Strange Attractors)

• Pig -- Samuel kills a pig to eat for the Christmas dinner. (Bloodlines, Part 1)
• Joseph Sullivan -- After learning that Joseph had been hindering his powers and had called Danko to take him away, Samuel flung a rock through Joseph's throat, fatally wounding him. He blamed it on Danko and later Edgar, but Hiro and Lydia from the future learned the truth. (Thanksgiving)
• Over 200 people in a small town -- Samuel uses his power to create a landslide that buries a small town. Lauren Gilmore says that 200 people died in that landslide, and more were still being dug up.

Ordered Kills

• Emile Danko -- Samuel ordered Edgar to kill Danko and retrieve his compass. (Orientation)
• Captain Lubbock -- Samuel invited Lubbock to the Carnival in order for Sylar to kill him. When Sylar does not, Edgar kills the Captain instead.
• Lydia -- Samuel ordered Eli to open fire on the carnival, which ended in Lydia's death (The Art of Deception). In addition, he later stated her death was his intention (Brave New World) and made no effort to preserve her life as she lay dying. (The Art of Deception)

Other victims

• Claire Bennet -- Samuel buries Claire underground, trapping her in a trailer. (The Wall)
• Noah Bennet -- Samuel buries Noah underground, trapping him in a trailer. (The Wall)
• Edgar -- In 1995, Samuel slaps Edgar when he calls a fortune teller "some old hag" (Stolen Fate). In the present, Samuel chokes Edgar with an ink hand, forcing him to do his bidding (Orientation). He also attempts to kill Edgar using two stones. (Thanksgiving)
• Mohinder Suresh -- Angry that Mohinder has burned the film that he wants, Samuel flings shards of rock into Mohinder's chest, apparently killing him. However, a Hiro Nakamura from the future had discovered that Mohinder would be killed while retrieving the film for a future Samuel and protected Mohinder with a Kevlar vest, saving his life. (Brother's Keeper)
• Becky Taylor -- Samuel tasers her when she is fighting with Noah to stop her (Shadowboxing).
• Sylar -- Before Sylar can try to kill him, Samuel creates a small but powerful dust storm that grinds off half of Sylar's face. (Let It Bleed)
• Thousands of people in Central Park -- Samuel uses his powers to create an earthquake to try to kill thousands of people and nearly succeeds, but is tackled by Peter, disrupting his concentration and stopping him. (Brave New World)
• Peter Petrelli -- Samuel enters a terrakinetic battle with Peter after Peter tackles him and replicates his power, ending when Hiro teleports the carnies away. Samuel then tries to punch Peter, but Peter blocks him and punches him in the face in return. (Brave New World)

Victims from Alternate Timelines

• Mohinder Suresh — After learning of the film that can tell him how to increase his powers, Samuel goes after Mohinder for the film. After discovering that Mohinder burned it, Samuel flings rocks into Mohinder's chest, killing him. (Brother's Keeper)
• Thousands of people in Central Park — Angela Petrelli has a dream where Samuel succeeds in creating his earthquake and he turns Central Park and part of New York City into a crater, killing thousands of people.

Notes

• Samuel invited Captain Lubbock to the carnival, assuming that Sylar would kill the law officer. Though Samuel did not kill Lubbock (nor did Sylar—it was Edgar who murdered the captain), he is still partly responsible for bringing about Captain Lubbock's death. (Tabula Rasa)
• In an alternative path of Slow Burn, Samuel kills Chris Bowman.
• Samuel blamed his brother Joseph's death on Danko, but he was the one that did it and lied to protect himself. He did it out of anger and by accident, immediately regretting it, but couldn't change it and didn't have Hiro change it either despite it apparently happening the same night that he killed Mohinder initially.
• At the end of chapter 10 of Slow Burn, Samuel gives the Bowmans a choice about killing The Watcher. If they decide to kill him, Chris, Samuel, and Bo take him into the woods, where the other carnies see a pillar of flame, as well as feel the earth shake.

Trivia

• Samuel has more confirmed kills than any other character in the present timeline, having killed over four times as many as Sylar. In one possible future, Sylar kills hundreds of thousands. In another future, Peter (or Sylar) killed millions. In the yet another alternate future, Adam causes billions to succumb to the Shanti virus. However, all of these disasters are averted. Also, Maya Herrera may have hundreds of kills, but the exact number is unknown.
