SkyNet is an artificial intelligence which was created by Cyberdyne Systems, Andrew Goode and ZeiraCorp. It became self-aware in July 25, 2004. Before it, Sarah Connor and John Connor were in Mexico. Cyberdyne developped the chip which was found inside the remains of T-800 in 1984, but it was damaged in 1995 when Cyberdyne was attacked by Sarah Connor, John Connor, Miles Dyson and a T-800.

Accidentally, an intern Andrew Goode got the remains of Cyberdyne's research, and developped it to the Turk. Because of Tarissa Dyson, Sarah Connor came to Goode, and later burnt the Turk up. In a few days, Andrew Goode rebuilt it, and used it on a chess competition, but it was lost. A member of Resistance squad had come for Goode, and shooted his forehead, but the Turk was stolen by Goode's partner. Later, CEO of ZeiraCorp ,Catherine Weaver, had bought the Turk from a man, and put it inside a T-888's body. She also employed Dr. Sherman and James Ellison to teach it. Her daughter, Savannah Weaver, discovers it when she wants somebody to play hide-and-seek with her.

In April, 2000, General Robert Brewster took over the development of SkyNet Defense System. In July 24, 2004, an unknown super computer virus started to attack the cyber world, Brewster and his team was unable to elimate the virus. Finally, Brewster activated SkyNet in July 25, 2004, and SkyNet took over all the military systems in a brief moment. In this short time, T-X had terminated Brewster and many people on his team, to make sure that no threats to SkyNet. SkyNet gets the power of Super intelligence and because of its unlimited capacity of CPU, SkyNet also has the ability of Enhanced memory.

When SkyNet was self-aware, the Company saw it as a threat, so they decided to exterminate SkyNet.

The first war between SkyNet and the Company continue almost 5 years(26 August, 2004 - 10 April, 2009). The end of this war is because Fox decided to shut down TSCC, but the second war will soon begin on 28 May, 2009 (because this is the day that Terminator Salvation will air in Hong Kong.)
