Save the Cheerleader, Destroy the World is an eBook that details what happened to Claire Bennet after she revealed the existence of evolved humans to the world, and the development of the Evo Registration Act. The book is told from several different viewpoints and with different types of media (letters, emails, news reports) to fill in some of the gaps between Heroes and Heroes Reborn.
About
Summary
Chapter 1
On June 12, 2014 (the day before the Odessa Unity Summit and the birth of her twins), Claire writes a letter to Hammer tracing some of the major events over the last few years. She tells him that he doesn't know everything that happened, so she is going to explain.
Chapter 2
On December 7, 2010, after Samuel Sullivan has been arrested, Lauren and Noah prepare cover stories for the press. However, Claire grabs the attention of the press and plunges everybody into a "brave new world" when she jumps off a Ferris wheel, regenerates in front of all the news cameras, and reveals the existence of evolved humans. Hiro teleports the rest of the carnival away from Central Park.
Chapter 3
On January 25, 2011, Claire Bennet (now going by Claire Petrelli) meets with the President at the White House, who tells her that Nathan Petrelli kept him informed about the existence of evolved humans. The President invites her to be his guest during the State of the Union address. At the Capitol, the President urges Congress to pass the Evo Registration Act as a voluntary registration. This surprises Claire, but she figures this is a natural consequence of going public.
Chapter 4
On February 9, 2011, Noah sees Claire's tape on the news, and realizes that it was leaked by Lyle. He calls Sandra and has a tense conversation with her. He also decides that he made the right decision not to give Claire over to the Company.
Chapter 5
On September 6, 2011, Claire attends the dedication of a football field at Union Wells High School that is being named in her honor. She calls Peter to try to talk to him, but he doesn't answer his phone.
Chapter 6
On September 12, 2011, a news program focuses on an evo arson. Other stories emerge of evos who use their abilities to commit crimes. Some political authorities speak out about the inadequacies of the Evo Registration Act.
Chapter 7
On September 20, 2011, Jacob Kurtzberg, who is Samuel Sullivan's lawyer, is killed by Edgar.
Chapter 8
On October 1, 2011, Noah meets with the President, Angela Petrelli, and Erica Kravid. The President says that Congress is voting on an amendment to the Evo Act that will make registration mandatory. The President asks for Primatech Paper to enforce the new law, but Angela explains that Renautas, headed by Erica, has bought the Company. Noah is going to work with Renautas in enforcing the new law.
Chapter 9
On October 17, 2011, Claire Petrelli is interviewed by Christine Harbough, expressing her displeasure over the new Evo Registration Act amendment. She also tells the press that she is meeting with Dr. Deng Hsu to try to figure out ways to make her healing ability transferable to others.
Chapter 10
On October 18, 2011, Sylar and Peter sneak into The Petrelli house in Vienna, VA, and try to warn Claire not to have Dr. Hsu experiment on her blood.
Chapter 11
On October 25, 2011, Peter Petrelli gives a statement during a New York 1 broadcast. Quoting Amnesty International's Universal Declaration of Human Rights, he denounces the Evo Act as unconstitutional.
Chapter 12
On November 4, 2011, those opposed to the Evo Act and Europe's similar Droit d'Évolué Déclarer, gather at the Place de la Concorde as part of what is being called the "Petrelli Movement". A British girl defensively uses her heat generation and is shot, causing riots and violence between the police and evos to erupt.
Chapter 13
On November 15, 2011, Claire Petrelli is interviewed by the Washingtonian Magazine. Her words appear as a guest editorial in which she denounces the Petrelli Movement and says that Peter lit "a fuse on a stick of dynamite" with his speech last month. Claire advocates for peace and for evos to have the choice to register.
Chapter 14
On November 24, 2011, Noah and his partner Caspar go to the Frenches' home and tell Alexander French that he is an evo. They let him know he needs to register as part of the Evo Act law.
Chapter 15
On December 4, 2011, Claire Petrelli is possessed by Harold Esposito, abducted from the Petrelli house, and taken to a helicopter. She meets Richard Schwenkman and is told she will be studied by a company known as the Lamarck Project.
Chapter 16
On December 24, 2011, Peter tries to rescue Claire from the Charles Darwin, the aircraft carrier where she is being held by the Lamarck Project. Despite his best efforts to telekinetically overpower the crew, Harold Esposito takes control of Peter's body and flies him to Greenland. Richard Schwenkman threatens him to not return.
Chapter 17
On January 1, 2012, Claire waits until the crew is drinking and relaxed during a New Year's Eve party, and escapes through the turbines of the Charles Darwin.
Chapter 18
On January 3, 2012, Claire arrives at the Petrelli mansion after hanging on to the underside of a cruise ship, then swimming to Long Island. As Angela walks away with Claire, Noah realizes that his daughter has grown up.

Chapter 21
On May 2, 2012, Abhaya Bhatnagar sends a despondent email to Claire Petrelli, letting her know about a heroic act by Jamart Aerts. However, after Jamart collapsed and needed medical help, the paramedics in Denmark refused to help.
Chapter 22
On June 12, 2014, Claire continues her letter to Hammer. She recalls how they met on the barge and developed a relationship, though things were not always pleasant between them.
Chapter 23
On November 7, 2012, Dion Cornwell and Signor Castiglione's team raid the Highland Dream to find the Petrelli Movement, but they find that the barge is devoid of people. The team discovers a bomb on the barge that detonates in a huge explosion.
Chapter 24
Claire is staying at Abbazia di San Giovanni where she feels safe and happy. On September 27, 2013, Hammer appears at the abbey, and reconnects with Claire. They spend the night together, and Claire discovers a few days later that something is wrong with her power. She is nauseous and suspects she is pregnant.
Chapter 25
On June 12, 2014, Claire concludes her letter to Hammer, expressing her excitement (and uncertain apprehension) about the upcoming summit. She also expresses fear in seeing Noah.
Chapter 26
On June 13, 2014, a very pregnant Claire arrives at the Evo Summit, and notices that a cut on her hand doesn't heal. Suddenly her water breaks and she is taken to St. Jude's as darkness engulfs her.
