Some people have decided to change it without proper discussion. *** The appearance templates are just traditional old tables. We use [[template:appearancecolumn]] to separate the columns, but that template is just table code. We use [[template:appearance]] to format each line on the appearance templates (it's just a basic link template with a few things added in that we need at Heroes Wiki). Assuming the Chuck Wiki has all the same extensions activated, you should be able to just copy the code from the templates on Heroes Wiki and paste it into new templates on the Chuck Wiki. ** I just removed some of the brackets from the character template. I don't see any extra brackets in the episode template. As for the collapsible tables, Wikia doesn't seem to support it. In other words, Wikia would have to upgrade their wiki software, I believe, to be able to have tables that collapse. ** Just FYI, collapsible tables probably don't require an upgrade of the wiki server code at Wikia. Collapsible tables are normally installed in-database by modifying a couple MediaWiki namespace articles that the wiki uses to parse articles in general. ** Okay, it looks like what's happening is that there are too many templates being used on the page. Not just templates directly on the page, but all the [[template:nbl]], [[template:thingnavseealso]], [[template:media]], [[template:epp]], and even [[template:ep]]. Lots. When that happens, or when the templates become too numerous, they stop working. The best thing to do is to take all the epp templates and to switch them to direct links. So when it says <code><nowiki>{{epp|101}}</nowiki></code>, we just need to change that to says <code><nowiki>(''[[Genesis]]'')</nowiki></code>. It's a lot of work, but that's the only real way I see around the situation...unless anybody has any better ideas. Radicell, I think there may be a way to increase the template limit by setting a variable in the startup file, but increasing the limit increases the amount of server time it takes to load a page so that's not really the best option. If this is becomes a problem with other pages using lots of ep or epp calls, we could probably create multi-level substitution-type templates that substitute in the value of the ep or epp call when saving the page. Then a simple replace all usage in notepad or another text editor could be used to change the ep calls to use the substitution that substitutes in the hard-code value. There's an example at [[Wikipedia:Help:Substitution#Includeonly]]. Hey, I realize this is kind of forward looking, but I was updating the Season History templates in case we get another installment and need to do a Reborn portion. I am having difficulties with three things:

1) When I type "Noah Bennet/Heroes Reborn" it does not take me to the button that says "New season summary page"
2) If I were to put it on the original page as <nowiki>{{season summary|season=Reborn}}</nowiki>, then the link appears as <nowiki>[[Noah Bennet/Season Reborn|Noah Bennet: Season Reborn History]]</nowiki>
3) On the top of the Season archive footer template, it will normally link to the previous season history if their is one and I can't seem to work it with the Reborn part

** :) To address your joke with a serious reply, it's important that we have a lot of good, strong patrollers. There's no limit to the amount of patrollers we can have, provided that the quality of their patrolling is high. (It's probably time I promote a few more...) But an administrator's job is really just to block users, delete pages and images, and change MediaWiki pages. There's never such a huge need for blocking and deleting or editing MediaWiki pages that just a handful of people can't take care of it. So having only a few admins doesn't really mean much more work for us...it's the patrolling that is the real lifeblood of the wiki and requires so much work. * Probably not. If it's not listed [http://www.nbc.com/heroes/twitter/ here] (I don't see it there), then it's probably not somebody associated with the cast and crew. But even if it is somebody associated with the cast and crew, we don't know who it is, and not all sources are the same. For instance, if it were [[Tim Kring]] or [[Adam Armus]] running the Twitter feed, then yes, it would be a valid secondary source. If it were somebody like [[Dusty Sorg]] running the feed, then no, it would not count as a source at all. * Thanks for asking. I've seen the discussion and I honestly don't have a strong opinion on the subject. I can go back through the script for ''[[Close to You]]'' and see if there are any hints for a good name, but I don't remember seeing anything that stuck out at me. But as for the discussion, most of the names that have been suggested seem fine to me personally. It's when a name is given to us in a canon (or near-canon) source that I feel really strongly that we should use it. In Emma's case, we really haven't been given anything explicit, and barely anything in a canon or near-canon source, other than the writers hinting at some form of synesthesia. * Quick note about the timeline--I think there have been some very overt and obvious references to the timeline being set in 2009. As for the wiki, that's not really the issue. The issue is that the timeline jumped--meaning we have unaccounted time (years, really) where things don't match up. If we follow the timeline from the beginning, we're somewhere in 2007 right now. If we use current information, we're in 2009. Saying that we're in one year or the other automatically negates canon information--since the canon information negates itself. * Yes and no. I think it's a great idea to go back and make sure all old checklists are completed. However, we shouldn't go back and add longer character summaries--we actually need to trim down the ones that are really long. We've gotten into a weird trend of adding too much information on character summary pages. The detailed summaries belong on the episode and graphic novel pages. But I think in the interest of time, people have been cutting and pasting the long, detailed summaries from the episode pages and pasting them into the character pages. Not good. * Taking screenshots is a good idea. I'm building up a network among the actors who portrayed the carnies. (I just found another: [[Erlene Garcia]].) When I find out the actors' names, it'll be nice to already have a picture ready to go. At worst, the pictures can be deleted in a few months if they're not used. But no, I don't think we need to know every actor's name to make a page. We have a page about [[Mrs. Comey]], and we don't know who portrayed her. Differences in Gemini & Enigma

I noticed in Enigma when Dahlia & 2014 Cassie interact that Cassie isn't wearing the Renautas smart glasses. Also in Enigma during the last meeting between Dahlia & 2014 Cassie, Dahlia doesn't have ask Cassie to do anything about the lasers or the platform she can't jump to because it is to high.

  • I think keeping it as El Vengador is fine, since it was about both Oscar and his grandfather, as well as the idea of being El Vengador. It reminds me of the Evs Dropper comics in that way, in that Evs wasn't a single person either. Hey, so there is a lot still to do here for Heroes Reborn and I was wondering if you, me, and maybe some others would like to devote the next couple of weeks to getting it all up to speed. So I'm suggesting this week we really go hard on getting the episode pages done. Summaries, Plots, MQs, etc. You think we can encourage others to help us?

MQ on 501, Synopsis on 506, MQ on 507, Synopsis and MQ on 508, Summary Synopsis and MQ on 509, Synopsis and MQ on 510, Story Dev and Synopsis on 511, Synopsis and Title Card on 512, Synopsis and Title Card on 513. As well, images from the episodes in the Synopsis' on all episodes.

Season Summary

Hey, I realize this is kind of forward looking, but I was updating the Season History templates in case we get another installment and need to do a Reborn portion. I am having difficulties with three things: 1) When I type "Noah Bennet/Heroes Reborn" it does not take me to the button that says "New season summary page" 2) If I were to put it on the original page as {{season summary|season=Reborn}}, then the link appears as [[Noah Bennet/Season Reborn|Noah Bennet: Season Reborn History]] 3) On the top of the Season archive footer template, it will normally link to the previous season history if their is one and I can't seem to work it with the Reborn part Can you help me with these couple things?   • The "new season summary page" is set up to appear when the title "/Season" appears in the subpagename. I can make a workaround for the few individual pages. I don't think we need to do any major structural changes since this really only affects Noah and maybe a handful of other characters.     • Actually, I think the biggest issue is that there was a misspelling on the archive page. It said "Rebron" instead of Reborn" so I don't think it was pulling the info correctly...         • The "if exist" command just means that if the page exists on the wiki, do whatever it says to do. So something like {{#ifexist: Peter Petrelli | [[Peter Petrelli]] | Peter Petrelli }} means that if there is a page called "Peter Petrelli" on the wiki, link it. If not, don't link it. Making this Wiki Pretty Again

Hey,

So with Heroes Reborn ending, we have a lot of stubs out there and frankly most of the new articles are incomplete (including episode pages). Therefore, I am hoping to inspire you and others to do this challenge with me. On my userpage, I have gone to all of the stubbed pages and separated them out by episode. Therefore, we can rewatch an episode and pay extra attention to these things that have stubs. So, my challenge is to follow this schedule to get everything listed under each category done. Hopefully if we all work together and can narrow down where we can help, we can finish this soon.

Schedule:

After this, we have graphic novels, webisodes, ebooks, and ability pages to finish up. But this way, a lot of it can get done. If you can't help one week or something, that's okay! This is just to inspire you and others to team together to get this done, there aren't a lot of pages under each episode, so maybe we could bust it out in a week, but maybe not!   • It's a great idea, and I love the amount of thought you put into this. I'll do my best to stay on schedule, but I can't promise anything. Spring is my super busy time of the year, getting ready for summer camp, wrapping up schoolwork, and getting my kids to all their sports activities.
