RE: uploading images

Thanks for the tip Ryan :), I upload the images for update the profiles, characters like Sabine needed a new one (I was getting tired of the flat, pale image which was at her profile). I'm way more active in the spanish heroeswiki than in this, you know, translate all the information takes a lot of time. See ya !!!.

P.S: Sorry for the broken english, but I'm from Venezuela (an spanish-speaking country :P).

  • Your English is fine. Keep up the good work on the Spanish wiki--I have quite a few friends who maintain Spanish fan sites about Heroes, and they love referencing Heroes Wiki. It'll be nice to be able to point them in the direction of the Spanish wiki. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 20:46, 2 September 2008 (EDT)

Seem to

If it's not really Donna, then she can't see even what Thompson, Jr. sees. That's what I meant, not sure how to word it.--MiamiVolts (talk) 00:32, 6 September 2008 (EDT)

  • That's speculative. It's presented as Donna. It should be changed only after there's evidence that it's not Donna, not based just on a theory. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 00:35, 6 September 2008 (EDT)

AT Map File

Just checked and saw me gone. Thanks so much! Therequiembellishere 01:52, 7 September 2008 (EDT)

Future Peter Pyrokinesis?

I searched Future Peter's page, the Pyrokinesis page, and the "Five Years Gone" page in search of confirmation that FP absorbed pyrokinesis from Meredith, but found nothing. Should a note be added to Future Peter's page about the interview? Without citing the source somewhere, stating that he absorbed it from Meredith just seems like speculation, sitting there in the entry as it does.--Paronine 17:13, 9 September 2008 (EDT)

Bridget Pic

Hey I just saw where you uploaded a Bridget pic several weeks ago...where did you find that? --HiroDynoSlayer (talk) 09/9/2008 17:58 (EST)

hes got nothing

hey just trying to find some1 that knows what to do with my ability to speak to people in my head, it started of something small and people could just hear me know people can hear my thoughts from atleast 200m and can know see my visions.. i dont think that has much relevence to the question but i rekon it would be good for deaf or blind people. if any one wants to help or that live in brisbane and wont to see its true email me at

JUst got off the phone from Jimmy, he was so nice! I will be transcriping the interview a.s.a.p.--Skywalkerrbf 14:11, 13 September 2008 (EDT)

  • Yeah, he seems like a really nice guy. Can't wait to read your interview! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 14:17, 13 September 2008 (EDT)

Staz Johnson

He has agreed to a interview with me, sorry to tread on your toes...--Skywalkerrbf 06:12, 14 September 2008 (EDT)

  • No, that's fine. Thanks for telling me. There are some good questions at Interview talk:Staz Johnson I think, feel free to use them. I've tries asking Staz questions more than once but he never followed through--both on the phone and over email. Good luck, and I hope you have better luck than I did! :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 08:35, 14 September 2008 (EDT)

hey there

ok, i know ive done alot of editing in the past and i know how hard you guys try to clean up this place but lemme help, im trying to make the Tracy Strauss page but it kinda looks like crap...any tips, or should i just be paitent and leave it to the pros?--Anthony Gooch 23:51, 22 September 2008 (EDT)

  • Well, nobody here is a pro, and we all have to start somewhere. I strongly encourage you to edit the page yourself, but also don't be offended if somebody makes some changes. A few things you can do to make the page even better: move it to simply Tracy Strauss. Add a "Character History" section, along with subsections for the two episodes she has been in so far. Add a Notes section perhaps. Add more to the infobox, like the fact that her home is in Maryland (it's the state on her license plate). After that, whatever else you feel like adding is fine. It's a collaborative effort, though, so I guarantee somebody will be around to make some changes. But yep, go right ahead and edit away! :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 23:56, 22 September 2008 (EDT)

Heroes Interactive 2Screen Bug Report

Hey Ryan. I copied you on the message I left at NBC's website technical support form. If you can forward the e-mail to Joe Tolerico ASAP, that would be great. Thanks in advance!--MiamiVolts (talk) 00:52, 23 September 2008 (EDT)

  • Thanks, Miami. I'll open my email later. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 00:53, 23 September 2008 (EDT)
    • Thanks. There's still an hour left of potential webcontent, so the sooner Joe gets it the better.--MiamiVolts (talk) 00:56, 23 September 2008 (EDT)

Hi, Ryan. I'm just curious.... but where do you get the screen shots of the episodes from? HiroMystery 06:15, 23 September 2008 (EDT)

  • A variety of sources...but the most recent ones are from a DVD I burned while watching the episode. My computer has been getting rather slow lately, so it takes a lot longer to get the screenshots. But there are a number of resources and sites that host just screencaps, and you can usually find what you want at those sites....Let me know if you're looking for more specific information than that. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 06:23, 23 September 2008 (EDT)

Talk:Portal:Future Characters

Can you come contribute to this discussion Talk:Portal:Future Characters when you get a free minute...trying to avoid a potential snowballing problem with all the new stuff being added. Thanks --HiroDynoSlayer (talk) 09/23/2008 12:57 (EST)

I've got it from google pictures, and under the pic is a link . There is an article about Hayden's single "wake up call" but it's in german.

p.s. sorry for my bad english ;)

  • Your English is fine! Thanks for the source. I updated the image for you. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 16:02, 23 September 2008 (EDT)

Episode 2 title

You left the comment "an image can't just be cropped to get rid of watermarks--the point of it being 650x365 is to keep the aspect ratio." on the image I uploaded. I'm not sure exactly what you mean. I pulled the screenshot directly out of's website and I didn't crop out any watermarks. I didn't crop the image at all. I just pulled the screen capture later than you did, after the camera panned more over towards Claire and her mom. Teekay 21:56, 23 September 2008 (EDT)

  • My bad, then, I'm sorry. Judging from the difference between the two shots (yours and mine), it just looks like you used the same shot, but cropped it for some reason. I didn't think about the fact that it could have just been off center in the first place! :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 21:58, 23 September 2008 (EDT)

Proposed Ammendment to Template

I am not sure where to leave this comment, but you seem to be the one with the power. I think that with the convoluted timelines, and the fact that we are on our second future Peters and Hiros, it is important that we add a time line field to our character templates. It could be identified as either Main, Explosion, Outbreak, Exposed, and Villains. I am not sure if this is already in place or if this is new, but either way I feel like you are the one who would be the best at adding or shooting down.

  • Well, I'm definitely not the one who wants to hold that kind of power! As an administrator, I can delete article and files if necessary, and I can block somebody for things like vandalism, but I don't believe in overstepping my bounds beyond that. The wiki is a community, and as members of the community, you and I should have exactly the same amount of say in how the wiki takes shape. Regarding the timeline stuff, I agree something has to be done. I'm not exactly sure the best way to organize it--and in a show with as many twists and turns and intricate plotlines involving multiple characters in multiple futures, I don't know if there ever really is a good way to keep it all straight. But this is definitely something to bring up with the community. I haven't had too many chances to follow the recent changes, but I know there is a conversation going on at this link, and I'm sure there are others. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:07, 23 September 2008 (EDT)

Question for Joe

Hey, I don't know if you still talk to Joe Tolerico, but can you ask to see who this is? I wasn't sure who was in charge of casting for Evolutions. I guess if you find out who, maybe we can pin down who portrays Derek and those election-rigging peeps. --Bob (talk) 03:33, 25 September 2008 (EDT)

  • Yeah, I've asked him before, and he gets so busy he doesn't always answer back, though I know he's well-meaning. Let's see--I've asked him about Matt Neuenberg, Brian, Walter, Kelly Shoemaker, and the unknown Company founders. I've also asked him if he had any information on David Pitcher and Mark Ford. Awhile ago he told me that he would do some digging, but I hate bugging him, so I haven't followed up. I think it's okay to send another email at this point. Is there anybody else (preferable Evolutions-related) I should ask about? Keep in mind, I don't want to just give him a laundry list of names, though... :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 07:37, 25 September 2008 (EDT)
    • Oh, I didn't realize you asked him before. I can imagine he's been busy for the last few months with what's been going on! I think those seem to be the big ones that we don't know about (though I don't know if he'd know about the actors in the picture of 12, but you never know). Thanks again.--Bob (talk) 18:39, 25 September 2008 (EDT)

Image for Tracy Strauss

I support the current one, but I was wondering; was the one with Ali Larter in front of an icy background an actual promotional image? --Cylon 08:26, 25 September 2008 (EDT)

  • Both Image:Mid Photo Promo 012.jpg and Image:Tracystrauss.jpg are from promotional images. The first is a more traditional character profile shot. The other is a very stylized, airbrushed photo which is very cool, but probably not the best image for a character infobox. In fact, it's original intention is to be used for a poster, not as a still shot. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 09:02, 25 September 2008 (EDT)

Hey, I've noticed that you reuploaded many of my images. I think they look much better now, but just to make sure it won't happen again, can you give me any tips regarding quality and size? Obi-Dan Kenobi 12:11, 25 September 2008 (EDT)

  • Well, it's bound to happen, and there's nothing wrong with that. Plus, sometimes having images right away is more important than having images of high quality. But I use high definition images, and that's pretty much the only way to make sure the quality is up to par. For sizes, most images should be standard size, which is 200x250 for character and cast/crew portraits, and 450x350 for almost everything else. One thing a lot of people do (and I honestly don't know if you fall into this category or not) is stretch their images or distort the pictures so they fit better into the dimensions above. Bad idea. In most cases, it's better to have an image that's the "wrong" size than to have it stretched and distorted. Finally, one thing most people can do is to change the color levels of the images they upload. That means playing around with the brightness, contrast, and tint until it looks good. Beyond that, it's having HD, and there's not much you can do if you don't have it! :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:31, 25 September 2008 (EDT)
    • OK, thanks! I guess I'll stick with contributing more with information, rather than graphics. Obi-Dan Kenobi 15:42, 25 September 2008 (EDT)
      • Oh, please, don't take anything I said to mean that you should stop uploading images--when an episode airs, people often want pictures right away to help them write articles and remember the episode. Sometimes it's better to have images uploaded quickly rather than wait for the quality HD images. Just don't be offended if your image gets reuploaded! :) But do whatever you feel comfortable doing. You're a strong contributor, so whatever contributions you make are very welcome here! :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:45, 25 September 2008 (EDT)
        • I wasn't offended at all! I feel much stronger with actual information or design of portals. I'm contributing alot to Lostpedia, but right now Heroes is my only center of intrest. By the way, where can I start a big discussion regarding renaming the futures and the future characters' names? Obi-Dan Kenobi 16:28, 25 September 2008 (EDT)

Do you know if he's still around?--MiamiVolts (talk) 13:14, 26 September 2008 (EDT)

  • He lives a few blocks from me, and yes, he's still around. He doesn't always contribute, but if there's something you need, let me know and I'll get the message to him. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:37, 26 September 2008 (EDT)
    • Oh, I see, you wanted him to translate something. He's not Japanese. Sorry! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:07, 26 September 2008 (EDT)
      • Oh well, was worth a shot. :)--MiamiVolts (talk) 05:40, 27 September 2008 (EDT)

Hey, can you check out the arguments at Precognitive dreaming and tell post what you think?--Riddler 21:04, 26 September 2008 (EDT)

  • Well, I have mixed feelings, to be honest. I don't see a compelling argument one way or the other. I like "premonition" because it addresses the fact that the dreams don't exactly tell the future; However, anybody can have a "premonition" and it's not very descriptive of the power. I like "precognitive dreaming" because it really does describe the power, but it calls the name precognition into question, since the two powers really are different. I personally like the name "premonitory dreaming". Apparently Tim Kring said it? I'd like to read the quote. Does anybody know where it can be found? -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 21:24, 26 September 2008 (EDT)

Hi, Ryan!

Hi, Ryan! I'm SAMANTHA486e61 or Wireless. I am new to Heroes Wiki, but I am eager to improve pages and to work to become an administrator. What pages should I improve? I live in Great Britian, so I might be behind you in time sometimes. You can email me at . Thanks again, SAMANTHA486e61/Wireless

  • Hi there. There's a couple things you can do to make improvements to the website. Try starting with the checklists on the episode talk pages (Episode talk:The Second Coming or Episode talk:The Butterfly Effect, for example) and graphic novel talk pages (like Graphic Novel talk:Dreams Until Death). We have a ton of stubs that need to be expanded, and there are a whole lot of red links that need to have articles created, especially for some new characters and actors. That should be enough to last you a pretty long time, but if you're still looking for something else to do, feel feel free to just go to any random page and edit it until it looks terrific! Good luck, and please let me know if you have any questions along the way or need a hand with anything. Thanks! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 10:10, 27 September 2008 (EDT)

Sylar has Bridget's ability

I posted this but it was deleted. This actually happens and there is a reference towards it in the next Heroes episode. Why was it deleted? He did obtain her ability.--ACDC1989 17:15, 27 September 2008 (EDT)

  • I deleted it because we do not post spoiler information here until the episodes air. That includes information released in press releases, previews, commercials, or any other such outlets. Hence, whatever happens in One of Us, One of Them is still considered a spoiler today. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 13:14, 27 September 2008 (EDT)
    • Hi i'm sorry about that but Sylar requires the ability on a special episode which is technically called Season 3 Episode 0.--ACDC1989 17:15, 27 September 2008 (EDT)
      • I know this isn't my page but I'll reply anyway. ACDC, the Premiere Event wasn't an episode, and all clips shown on it (aside from past clips) are basically spoilers. Nothing shown on the Premiere is considered to have happened yet (not canon). We just have to wait until the next episode(s) until it actually does happen. Also, you can sign your comments with the second to last button above your text box, or --~~~~ at the end of your post.--Riddler 17:09, 27 September 2008 (EDT)
        • Ok kk thanks. I just wanted to say that i saw a promo released from the episode on Monday and a covered body was taken out from Sylar's level 5 room. Before Angela comes with Noah Sylar washes his hands so after that episode would it be possible to post the ability? Thanks alot for your comments i really appreciate it. Thanks. --ACDC1989 17:15, 27 September 2008 (EDT)
          • It's no problem, and if it's shown on this coming Monday's episode, then yes, it can be added. Another thing, you don't have to make a new section for each comment, you can just click the 'Edit' in the top right of a specific section and add to the discussion. =P--Riddler 17:16, 27 September 2008 (EDT)
          • Yes, if the scene airs on Monday, it's fair game. Thanks for understanding, and keep up the good work! :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 17:18, 27 September 2008 (EDT)

Sorry this is so long delayed

I actually just noticed it and thought I'd comment.

Under Precognition, you posted:

"who says they were kissing--hindsight shows that west was really holding her back"

As a reason for removal of:

"Issac's paintings, even when prophetic, are not always 100% accurate. For example, his painting of Noah's 'death' depicts West kissing Claire while HRG lay on the ground, but in the actual event West was only holding her back from running to her father."

Looking at the painting, i sure looks like they're kissing, but even if the angle is skewed (which would be the only way it could be West 'holding her back,' it's still not 100% accurate, as she has her eyes closed and is holding him, as opposed to looking at her father and trying to get away from West, though I can understand that it may be close enough as to make no real difference.

  • I don't take issue with the notion that Isaac's painting are not 100%. I take issue with the notion that West and Claire were kissing in the painting. That's assumed. It's a good assumption, as it's what the creators wanted us to believe, but it's still an assumption--one that's perfectly logical when you see two people holding each other that way. It's the same with the painting of Sylar standing over the dead cheerleader--we're made to believe it's Claire because she's a main character and the prophecy of "save the cheerleader, save the world" drove the first season...but the cheerleader in question is not and never was Claire. Bottom line: no, the paintings are not an exact depiction of reality, but to use the idea that Isaac painted West and Claire kissing as evidence of this point is not valid. Hope that makes sense. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 13:40, 28 September 2008 (EDT)
  • "no, the paintings are not an exact depiction of reality" - That was a main point of argument for some people for Precognitive Dreaming; It wasn't exact. Hm...--Riddler 13:42, 28 September 2008 (EDT)
    • I don't know what that has to do with the above question. We're not talking about precognitive dreaming at all, we're talking about Isaac's ability of precognition. I have purposely stayed away from the discussion about precognitive dreaming, and I certainly haven't made any strong arguments for or against a particular name. I'm not sure why you're relating my comment about Isaac to a debate that I have little to do with. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 13:47, 28 September 2008 (EDT)
      • Sorry, that was me being an ass. Kinda ignored the fact that this was on a user talk page. :X--Riddler 13:48, 28 September 2008 (EDT)
        • You're not an ass. I just don't want to be pulled into an argument I'm trying to stay away from, and I don't want my comments about Isaac to be used elsewhere. No harm done. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 13:49, 28 September 2008 (EDT)

Mohinder's ability

I know he climbs it really easily. But when you watch it you will notice that his feet and his hand are placed right where the space inbetween the bricks are. He climbed it like a rock wall. Placing his feet and his hands inbetween the bricks and using them as foothold and handholds. Him climbing it so quickly is a sign of strength and agility, it is not a sign of the ability to stick to the walls. Rewatch it and pay attention and you will notice I am correct. I have rewatched it several time and have came to the same conclusion each time. Even the picture on the Mohinder Ability page shows his feet and his hands between the cracks.

  • And I've come to another conclusion. Either way, saying that he climbs the wall is not adding anything or taking anything out or being speculative. Saying that he climbed it using the cracks in the wall dismisses what may be part of his bug-like ability. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 21:10, 28 September 2008 (EDT)
