====Graphic Novel:Rebellion, Part 1==== |
|||
In New Orleans, Micah and his cousin Monica are working together as crime fighters. Micah has detected thieves stealing supplies from a hospital building site, and activates the silent alarm but since the police won't make it in time to stop them, he gets Monica to slow them down. Two police cars arrive, and Monica says she doesn't want the police catching sight of her again. Micah tells her to climb a high fence and jump on to a passing street car below. Micah says he'll see Monica when he gets home, and she asks him if he's still at school. He says he doesn't want to be tracked back to the house, and that the internet connection is faster at the school. Monica is about to reply but is cut off. Micah sees a van with government plates speed past as he arrives home. Using his ability, Micah scans the radio waves and cellular signals, and detects a conversation that the target Sanders was misidentified, and the agents have his cousin instead. The controller sends them back to the house, but Micah returns to the school to hack the government firewalls. He finds a list of individuals being transported on a secret flight with no itinerary: Claire, Monica, Hiro, Matt, Peter, Sparrow Redhouse, Mohinder and Tracy. Gabriel Gray is listed as "LOST_COMM", and his own entry is "PENDING". He sees that Claire has been released. Micah forces the camera to record the prisoners being loaded onto the plane. He tracks Flight 195 as it takes off, then issues a mayday call. Tears run down Micah's face as he sees the plane has crashed. |

Micah manages to locate where the plane crashed and rushes their to try and find his family. Instead, he finds Sparrow Redhouse, who is shocked to see a kid like Micah involved in the crash. Micah explains his situation and what is going on and Sparrow agrees to help him. As they are walking, a jeep full of agents arrives. Sparrow uses her power to fight them off but before the two of them can escape, Flint Gordon threatens them with his fire. The agents kill Flint, giving Micah and Sparrow time to escape. At a bus stop some time later, Micah comes up with the idea to help everyone like them and begins by contacting Claire. |

====Graphic Novel:Rebellion, Part 3==== |

Micah sends several messages out to other evolved humans including Sparrow Redhouse in New York and West Rosen in L.A. He asks both of them to meet him, sending Sparrow a car and requesting that West fly. They all meet at a secret location that Micah reveals will be their base of operations. Micah discovers that the government has dispatched a team in London and that they are going after another family. West and Sparrow agree to go and help. |
|||
Later, Micah stands outside. Behind him are West, Sparrow and the newcomer to their group, Abigail. Everyone is openly displaying their abilities (Flight, Terrakinesis, Forcefields) and are standing together. Micah claims that they are all “REBEL” |
|||
====Graphic Novel:Rebellion, Part 4==== |
|||
Micah uses Matt and Peter to hack into Building 26 and then downloads a file containing the names of every special person they have captured. Micah directs West and Abigail to his family and then watches as Sparrow arrives and creates a path for the others to escape on. West, Abigail, Nana, Sparrow and Damon escape, leaving Micah behind. Unbeknownst to him, someone has aimed their tranquilizer directly at the back of his head. As Micah watches his friends, the person fires. |
|||
====Graphic Novel:Rebellion, Part 5==== |
|||
Micah wakes up in an unknown location to find that he is tied to a chair and Thompson, Jr. is holding a gun to his head. Thompson tells Micah that he was shot by a tranquilizer and that he'll be ok provided he does as he's told. Thompson continues, saying he knows about Rebel and their efforts, but he only wants Micah to find Sabine Hazel for him. Micah replies that he knows about Thompson as well and what he's been through. He says that killing Sabine and her baby won't right the wrongs or bring people back from the dead. Thompson disagrees with him and says that Micah is not in control, puting the gun closer to Micah's head. It is Micah's turn to disagree, informing Thompson that as they were talking, he was reprograming the crane outside and that Tompson might want to duck. The wrecking ball crashes into the building, knocking Thompson off his feet as Micah watches unharmed. Thompson starts to get up, pulling out a rifle, but Micah says that he also told his friends where they were. The rest of Rebel arive, West carrying Abigail as she unties Micah and Sparrow riding a rock formation. Micah watches the others take Thompson down, saying it only took them twelve seconds. Micah tells him to forget about Sabine, her baby, and everything he knows about Rebel. Thompson tells Micah to go to hell, but Micah only says that he put Thompson's name on every top ten list in the country. As Thompson runs away, Abigail asks Micah if he thinks he'll be back and Micah replies that he doesn't know, but at least he'll know what they're going through, being a wanted fugitive. Micah finally states that they have other problems to worry about. |
|||
====Graphic Novel:Rebellion, Part 6==== |
|||
Micah arrives with the reat of Rebel at the Brihadeeswarar temple seeking Molly for her help. Micah tells her he knows what it's like to be alone, for his parents are dead too. He states he wants her to help find Monica. After being convinced, Molly says they are in a warehouse in Pittsburgh. Micah tells Molly she needs to come with them, in case Lee, Claude and Monica are moved again. But when they all reach Pittsburgh and start to go to the warehouse, Molly tells them to stop: Monica, Claude and Lee are in the train station. Micah finds that a classified train is heading for DC in only a few minutes. Micah directs the team so Abigail, Molly, and himself can proceed to the train. They find Lee and Claude; Micah stops the drugs and releases their restraints, but he and Abigail are tranquilized and placed on the train headed for DC. Minutes later, West and Sparrow stop the train with a wave of mud and dirt. The train shuts down and everyone is freed, but agents have surrounded the train. They are all about to leave when Molly tells everyone that she knows where Monica is. |
|||
====Graphic Novel:Rebellion, Part 7==== |
|||
After escaping from the crashed train, Micah demands to know where Monica is from Molly. However, Molly's too scared to tell him as Sylar is close to her. When he demands to know anyway so he can go himself, Molly and the others realize he was just using them to save his family. A group of agents attack, but are defeated by Sparrow. Micah, realizing that Molly is right and he made a mistake, apologizes to her for his actions, but she forgives him as she understands. Molly gives him the address and wishes him good luck. Rebel, joined by Lee, go to rescue Monica from the abandoned hospital she's held captive in in Washington, D.C. while Claude takes Molly to safety. Micah sets up shop in an abandoned warehouse a few blocks from the hospital while the rest of Rebel goes in. Micah guides them through the hospital to Monica's room, but the rest of Rebel suddenly lose all contact with him. |

Micah Sanders is the son of Niki Sanders and D.L. Hawkins. Micah is gifted with extraordinary intelligence, and cares very much for his deceased parents. Having a strong moral compass (though he has occasionally made less-than-moral choices), Micah believes there is a clear division between right and wrong. To this end, Micah (under the alias of REBEL), coupled with his own sense of morality and his ability, has set about contacting, warning, advising and leading evolved human fugitives all over the world. With the help of Leona Mills, he created an underground railroad for evolved human fugitives for them to escape being hunted down and captured by the Department of Homeland Security. The underground railroad is known as "Ellen", and is operated by LAWR and at least one other team under his leadership. He began it because of the capture of his family. He is an evolved human with the ability to control and manipulate technology.
Character History
Season One
For an episode-by-episode summary, see Micah Sanders: Season One History.
Micah repairs his computer when his mother tells him to get his things and to leave with her. They go to his school so his mother can talk to his principal. When they leave, Niki drops him off at Tina's house where Micah waits a long time for her return. When Niki finally picks him up, she takes him home before taking him to the desert and eventually to his grandmother's house. He tells his mother he believes his father is innocent. Back at Tina's he reveals to Niki that he knows how she makes a living, and prefers it over what she is about to do.
When the two return home, D.L. arrives and fights with Jessica, taking Micah after he knocks her out. Driving away, the two meet Hiro and Ando while saving a woman. That night, Micah uses a broken payphone to call his mother, instead getting Jessica, until D.L. stops him. Micah persists that they should go back for Niki, but D.L. initially refuses until Micah tells him about Jessica. However, Jessica is already present and shots at D.L. who phases to survive. After Jessica hurts Micah, Niki regains control and turns herself in to the police.
Micah then begins living with his father. Soon, he visits Niki in jail and later takes money from an ATM for his father. Niki is soon released and the family is finally reunited.
However, soon a woman poses as his mother introducing him to Linderman, who wants Micah's help. Micah leaves with Linderman. He soon realizes that someone is impersonating his mother, and tries to escape. However, Candice uses her power to keep him confined. The next day, she uses him to cause Nathan Petrelli to win in the election. Micah complies and then is taken back to the room by Candice. A day later, Niki comes to his rescue and the two go find D.L. who is hurt near Mohinder and Molly. He uses his ability to activate a broken elevator allowing them to escape to Kirby Plaza where they witness the showdown, and finally the explosion. Two days later he chats with Hana about D.L.'s condition.
Season Two
For an episode-by-episode summary, see Micah Sanders: Season Two History.
Niki and Micah leave Las Vegas, where Niki brings Micah to live in New Orleans. Niki tells him not to use his powers, and that while she has to leave one more time, when she gets back, they'll be together. Niki and Micah approach a house and meet Nana. Micah has some troubles with his cousin Damon, who wants to watch a wresting match on pay-per-view. Micah uses his ability to gain access to pay-per-view, so Damon can watch the wrestling. Monica enters, and begins to get angry, but Damon tells her that Micah is a genius and rigged the cable. Micah apologizes, and Monica reminds him that his mother asked her to look after him.
Later, Micah finds that Monica plays the piano very fast, though she only saw Micah playing the same notes for a few minutes. Micah tells her he thinks he knows what happened with the piano. He goes to the television and puts his hand on it, and it turns on and off, explaining how he rigged the pay-per-view. He tells her he thinks it runs in the family, since D.L. could walk through walls, and his mother is also special. He shows her a 9th Wonders!, and points out St. Joan, the muscle mimic who can do whatever she sees. Micah tells her that maybe they should test it out, and after duplicating double-dutch and kung-fu, the two keep their abilities a secret.
Micah sees his mother, Niki, for the first time since coming to New Orleans. Niki explains that she has a virus, but that is it not contagious and that Doctor Suresh is doing everything he can to find a cure for her. Micah decides to give her something that will give her hope, his deceased father D.L.'s medal, and goes to find his backpack only to find it is gone. Damon explains to Micah that it was stolen. Micah is approached late at night by Monica who says she will get the backpack. Monica and Micah sneak out to the house where Micah's backpack is, then Monica breaks in and finds the backpack. However, the house is broken into and they find Monica, throwing her into the back of a van. Scared, Micah runs, leaving her there with them. Micah tells Niki that Monica has been captured by a street gang. They leave to go help her. They follow a GPS signal emitted by Monica's cell phone to find her location at a burning warehouse. Niki helps Monica escape with Micah's backpack, but Micah and Monica watch the building explode with Niki still inside.

Evolved Human Abilities
Micah has the ability to manipulate electronic and/or mechanical items. He can manipulate technology whether broken or working. Though his ability to build new technology is unknown, he did say he had created a new motherboard for his computer that he received from his grandfather, Hal Sanders.
Equipment
- 9th Wonders!--collection of comic books by Isaac Mendez that Micah enjoys reading
- Laptop computer--given to Micah by his grandfather, Hal Sanders
- Money--stolen by Micah from an ATM and given to his father
Memorable Quotes
"He's going to heal the world."
"I didn't know it was sick."
"I'm helping people. People like us."
- - Micah (to Tracy) (Cold Snap)
"You can save us all!"
- - Micah (to Sylar) (I Am Sylar)
Notes
- In the unaired pilot, Micah is seen talking on the phone with the ticket sales office of a train station about a trip taking "a couple of hours". It is unclear where he is planning to go or why (he did offer to buy the tickets when he arrived at the station) because he is interrupted by Tina and is forced to hang up. Later, Micah has run off, along with $300 from Tina's purse. It should be noted in Tim Kring's commentary that Noah was simply ad-libbing.(In His Own Image)
- Micah is currently one of the youngest characters known to have demonstrated a superhuman power, along with Sanjog Iyer and Molly Walker. However, as was discovered in Cold Snap which aired March 23rd, Matt Parkman Jr. is the youngest character with a power, being only a baby.
- In a possible future timeline, Micah was killed during the explosion in New York City. (Five Years Gone)
- According to a deleted scene on Heroes: The Complete Second Season, Micah's birthday is December 5.
- Micah took his mothers last name as opposed to the common taking of ones fathers.
- Micah hacked into corinthianlasvegas.com and found a poster advertising Richard Drucker's political writings bearing the title Libertad. He then used the name "Libertad" when acting as Rebel.
- It is unknown what happened to Micah in the outbreak future or the exposed future. It is presumed that he died in the former one.
Trivia
- While talking to Candice, Micah says he has a cousin who overeats and is very fat. This is possibly a reference to Damon. (Landslide)
- Much like his late aunt Jessica, Micah appears to have a talent for playing the piano. (Fight or Flight)
