Re: Back from camp

Welcome back! :)--MiamiVolts (talk) 17:33, 4 September 2010 (EDT)

  • Thanks. I've actually been back for a little while (school started this week), but only just now got around to updating my page. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (new comment) 19:20, 4 September 2010 (EDT)

Hey Ryan

Hey Ryan, long time no see :) I've been away (and I still am) since Heroes has ended. And I've successfully obsessed myself with something else, just like you proposed. I want to create my own wiki and I need to know everything about how I'm supposed to do that. Just downloaded MediaWiki... What next? AltesUTC CH 09:43, 8 September 2010 (EDT)

  • I would ask Admin--he set up this wiki. I know there's a significant cost involved with it, so you'll want to work out some plan for recouping your expenses (Google ads is what worked for us when HW first started, and then we struck a deal with NBC). You'll also want to market the wiki in appropriate chat rooms and message boards. However, the best advertising you could have for your wiki is excellent content. We've always felt that if the content is strong and the wiki looks good, people will find it...and they have. :) Good luck! -- RyanGibsonStewart (new comment) 10:51, 8 September 2010 (EDT)

Two vandals

User talk:Ugg shoes are admiring by everyone and User:Wqjqr123. I think the first one's name is unacceptable and is obvious promotion, and the second one added the links etc to the first one's page. --mc_hammark 09:35, 25 September 2010 (EDT)

Here we go again with spam plugs for UGG products http://heroeswiki.com/How_to_Clean_UGG_Slippers put up by Czy1122 too bad there wasn't a way to block them putting this up. Most of the reason I spot it is because I'm following the wikibot on twitter Tarot 23:22, 30 October 2010 (EDT)

Sup

Hey there, old pal. How come I don't see you spending much time on The Event Wiki? An active administrator over there would do the wiki wonders... but I totally get it if you're too busy and would like others to fill your shoes. :P Radicell 06:26, 8 October 2010 (EDT)

  • Hey Ryan, we do miss your help over there. I hope you're doing well and can contribute some more soon.--MiamiVolts (talk) 16:57, 8 October 2010 (EDT)
    • Hey, guys. Thanks. Yeah, it's just totally a busy thing. 4 kids, full time teaching, early morning religion classes, sports coaching, piano teaching, hiring for summer camp, and running my son's Cub Scout pack...lots going on, you know? On the other hand, I'm totally digging The Event. It's a really awesome, really compelling show. I should head over the the other wiki and work on it a bit...especially on the weekends. My fear is that if I do, I'll become addicted, and let the "important" things in my life fall to the wayside. But maybe I'll just exercise some will power and restraint and go from there. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (new comment) 22:49, 8 October 2010 (EDT)
      • That's cool. I agree, The Event is awesome. Hope to see you around TEW, though of course, take care of the "important" things first. :) Radicell 10:59, 10 October 2010 (EDT)
        • On another note, it would be appreciated if you could make a small edit on The Event Wiki, to the MediaWiki:Sitenotice page. It's kind of outdated now that the show has aired, and we would also like to encourage people to vote in the logo contest (which is located at The Event Wiki:Logo contest on that site). Thanks. Radicell 11:23, 10 October 2010 (EDT)
          • You got it. I also receive messages left on my TEW page, so if it's easier, feel free to leave me messages there. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (new comment) 21:24, 10 October 2010 (EDT)
