In various points throughout the televised episodes, graphic novels and webisodes, the first occurrences of abilities, from the point of view of the characters, are shown, mentioned or painted. While it seems this is usually triggered by eclipses, this doesn't always apply, particularly in synthetic cases. This is a list detailing them.

• Matt hears the thoughts of several people during a murder investigation.

• Charlie mentions her memory being better recently.

Six Months Ago

• Sylar discovers the hunger, however he'd already accessed his ability without knowing it, in the fixing of his timepieces.
• In a deleted scene, Matt listens to his wife, however he doesn't realize it.
• Claire's hand smashes into a trophy case, lacerating it severely, yet the bandage comes off revealing her unmarked hand just days later.
• Nathan flies for the first time when he and Heidi crash.
• In a deleted scene, Peter somehow senses this.
• Jessica first shows up, also first showing her incredible ability on her abusive stepfather.
• Micah can take apart and fix his computer with ease, possibly showing the first signs of his ability.

Graphic Novel:Life Before Eden

• Eden yells at her stepmother, activating her ability to persuade, and forcing her heart to stop. This was one of several manifestation graphic novels.

The Kindness of Strangers

• Monica manifests her ability after seing an cook program on television, later doing the exact same thing at work.

Lizards

• Adam has been hit by three arrows but doesn't die.

Four Months Ago...

• Maya cries her first black tear at Alejandro's wedding.

The Second Coming

• Mohinder injects himself with the genetic modification formula, directly after he is able to punch a guy who was trying to rob him meters away.

Shadowboxing

• Becky's ability manifests when she wishes that Noah won't see her under her bed.

Notes

• Not every evolved human has shown an on screen manifestation, but it seems generally that abilities arrive during an eclipse, puberty, or during a particularly emotional moment.

• As mentioned before, many characters abilities have manifested in moments of extreme emotion, be it anger, frustration or fear.
